STEPHEN GILMORE JOINS THE MINNESOTA VIKINGS what this means for the 2024 season #vikingsnation

welcome to another episode of in the spotlight weekly I'm your host Lee Roy also known as the man with the plan the mega plan and the master plan if not a plan I have an opinion hear me out I've asked you to hit the like button subscribe comment and share this video in every podcast and guess what you guys are doing it I'm now at 237,000 Subs but the goal by the end of this month is to hit 3,000 subs and I think we can do it and by doing all of this we can break into the YouTube algorithm and get my videos out to more people who don't have a clue that I the man with several different types of plan or this channel exist sorry guys I know it sounds like I'm begging but guess what I am anyway let's see the Vikings just pulled another bold move according to the one and only Ian rap report Stefon Gilmore is joining the Vikings on a one-year $10 million deal let that sink in a one-year deal for a guy who's been around the block and then some how many of you saw this coming I know I didn't so let's break it down let's be real for a second our cornerback room was starting to look like a youth camp right we were all hoping for a full-on youth movement with guys like Andrew Bo Jr and a Caleb Evans stepping up then there's Byron Murphy Jr who was supposed to be the veteran anchor but let's face it boot Jr has been a bit of a bust hasn't he okay lab Evans inconsistent at best and then the injury started piling up like a bad game of Jinga Micky Blackman tore his a CL and tragically we lost Kyrie Jackson what do you do when your youth movement gets derailed you pivot and that's exactly what the Vikings did they went from betting on potential to stacking up on experience is this the right move you better believe it is with Stefon Gilmore coming in our CB room just got a serious facelift imagine this Byron Murphy Jr shael Griffin and now Stefon Gilmore that's a trio that'll give offensive coordinators some sleepless nights and let's not forget Byron Murphy Jr I suppose the CB1 didn't exactly shine in last week's preseason game against the Vegas Raiders I mean he was downright awful now with Gilmore on board we don't have to rely so heavily on Murphy this move brings a veteran presence some much-needed stability and frankly a bit of swagger to a position group that's been more shaky than a rookie quarterback in the pocket now I know what you're thinking but wait isn't Gilmore 34 this season isn't that ancient in football years and yeah in cornerback terms 34 is practically prehistoric but here's the thing last year with the Dallas Cowboys Gil Moore wasn't just hanging on he was balling out he played and started all 17 games allowed a 50% completion rate snagged two interceptions gave up only four touchdowns and had 13 pass breakups those are solid numbers especially for a guy many thought was past his prime so what does this mean for the Vikings first off we don't have to throw as shaky Andrew boot Jr out there as our cb3 Gilmore slides in and suddenly the depth chart looks a whole lot better and let's not forget if someone goes down or underperforms we've got Gilmore in the mix ready to step up can we agree that this is a win because it sure feels like one this move folks it's a signal the Vikings are all in for 2024 even with the injuries even with the loss of JJ McCarthy they're doing everything they can to stay competitive the defense is shaping up to be solid the offensive line will take what we can get but it's not looking terrible and let's talk about the offense for a second Sam Darnell my man if you're listening there are no excuses this year you've got Jefferson you've hopefully got Addison and you've got a solid Run game sure TJ hackinson might not be ready to start the season but the pieces are there so what do you think Vikings nation is this the move that's going to push us over the edge are we looking at a playoff run or is this just a Band-Aid on a bullet wound personally I'm hyped Gilmore might not be the shutdown corner he was a few years ago but he's a massive upgrade over what we've got and sometimes that's all you need Stefon Gilmore welcome to Minnesota this wasn't a move I saw coming and I'm guessing a lot of you didn't either but it's here and it's real so let's get excited let's get ready for season that's shaping up to be full of surprises and let's keep the conversation going what do you all think is Gilmore the missing piece or are we still a few steps away from where we need to be hit me up with your thoughts and let's break it all down together in the comment section whether it's good bad or ugly I'm down for it and as always thanks for tuning in keep those shoulder pads handy because who knows what the Vikings will do next I am ler Roy the man with the plan the man with an opinion thank you for tuning in and as always I appreciate all your support let's keep the conversation going and until next time skull Vikings
