welcome to Boon picking Stadium still waterer Oklahoma home to the Cowboys of Oklahoma State Pistol Pete ready to start firing those pistols for the battle we have in store we have a ranked versus unranked battle coming up here and you know how chaos can ensue if they start smelling an upset as we'll see a squad from the secc the Arkansas Razer backs taking on the 18th ranked team in the land the Oklahoma State Cowboys glad to have you with us for EA Sports college football I'm Reese Davis David poock and Jesse Palmer with me in the booth guys we are ready to tee it [Music] up and the Cowboys will get us started with the opening kickoff on the run from inside his own five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the Razer back's offense takes the field to start this game off here he comes and obviously a defense is always going to be aware of a quarterback but boy he finds a way to put defenses on their heels all the time David I mean what can't he do he's got the weapons he's got the confidence he's got the experience Jesse these kind of guys are so hard to defend you're right they better be able to find a way to get pressure on him cuz if they don't this is going to be a long day this crowd bringing the energy and noise early grabed behind the line it's sategna and the Razer backs get it past the sticks and I love working the slot receivers and you see so much of that it's about matchups right I can put a fast guy in that slot maybe get him matched up on a Lineback or a safety I like working those guys and those matchups favorable for the offense for sure it'll be first and 10 from the 30 he'll pull it on the read that play just never had a chance a knock him down for a loss of five and they run the option and that had no chance and they QB you could tell something was a little bit messed up and he starts to run it goes nowhere defense swarms him that is the play that we don't want to run again don't try and overcome that last play on second and 15 looking downfield it's screen got his man quickly they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down knowing that your man can make the catch against his Defender that wasn't a big play but it can set you up down the line to be able to take advantage yes get it to him as fast as I can when I see him open he runs the little hitch get it to him so he can make a little bit of yards after the catch and eventually that little gain he's going to bust one of those with his athletic ability and work it to the 40 yd line that'll be a first down it's a really good sign if you're on offense you're you're putting it on your offensive line on third down critical down and distance opening drive of the game let those guys fire off get a hat on a hat you can run the ball pick up the first you're around Midfield and all things looking pretty good here early for this offense they're going to go right back to him on first down a confident tough efficient run gets it up to the 44 and as an offense having success on a run Run play like that early in the game just opens up all the possibilities of your playbook moving forward play action running the ball throwing the ball screens anything is at your disposal at this point was to fire on second down caught near the sideline it's brown and that defense is there to guide him out of bounds after a short game I love offenses and quarterbacks that are willing to take the easy stuff take those easy throws that are guaranteed to get positive yards yeah I'm going to take big shots down the field too but don't forget it's easier to pick up second and five third and five and is when we start getting those long yardage situations gets it out quickly good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch and the defense brought the blitz on third down trying to see if they could rattle the quarterback but how about the Poise he knew where his answer was he didn't Panic or freak out he just went through his progression picked up the first and we got a fresh set of downs wants to throw on first down off the play fake good job to toss that ball out of bounds and avoid the loss and how nice is it to have the home crowd going absolutely bananas communication is harder the the snapping the football everybody being on time man this crowd really affecting the football game this crowd going to try to make life miserable for these guys from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back and he runs through one tackle and picks up a few well the defense wasn't expecting that they had a lot of guys back into coverage that was second and a lot of yards to go and they got caught off guard not enough guys in the Box to control that running back they're setting the tone on this opening drive 10th play coming here on Third and short they'll stick to the ground looking for the marker and they needed an inch and they didn't get it this defense gives up nothing and you'll like it well you love to see that from the defense right it's like Ben don't break they've given up a bunch of plays on this drive but now that they're getting down close to field goal range you're seeing them start to stiffen up yeah and plays don't matter anymore yards don't matter all that matters with these defenses nowadays is points and limiting them and the kicker delivers the three to salvage that drive and with that they break the seal on the score scoring it's three nothing I know one thing this head coach does every week is he challenges his guys to start fast and it's so important today playing on the road in this kind of environment you saw a nice drive they didn't get the touchdown they would have loved but still kicking that field goal and taking this early lead that's a statement for the visiting team so the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away after putting up a field goal let's see what the defense can do he'll bring it back looking for help and the coverage team gets the returner on the ground so the Oklahoma State Cowboys offense has its first opportunity of the day as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this halfway there on first down it's second and five give to the running back not much there picks up a couple to the the 22 now that's what you're trying to do as a defense limit those damages when they run the football get them on the ground short gains to set your defense for positive situations down the road let's see what they do on third down it'll be a draw Bulls his way forward and that first Defender was just waving at him after that sweet move he picked up the first down wow the running back there showing you his skill set as he's able to rip off that one for a first down the Cowboys come to the line with a new set of downs on the ground it's Gordon he stopped after getting a yard out to the 30 this offensive line better figure out a plan for this deep tackle he is tough to block with one guy you might want to start double teaming him he's going to be a problem moving forward you saw all visibility on that last play didn't get much on first down it's second and nine got him looking run he wants to throw a beautifully placed ball to the outside in the tow drag for the big pickup receivers always have to be so careful around the sideline to not step out accidentally so give that receiver credit nice job on the route to bring the ball in well on a tight rope and the Cowboys are mov moving quickly down the field out of the gun they give to the back continuing to turn and move it forward and they're closing in on Midfield it's down at the 48 I like this guy as a running back because he could run between the tackles and he can also go outside he can really do it all halfway there on first down it's second and five he'll run it again just a svage stop by this sophomore play number seven on this drive and it'll be third and two to the ground to try to pick up the first and there were some collisions in there in the def finally stopped him short of the marker [Music] now the Cowboys line up to punt it away he ought to be able to use his first punt to pin him deep no opportunity to run it back as the ball goes out of bounds the Hogs send that offense back onto the field man how comforting is it to know that even if your offense stalls out a little Jesse that field goal kicker can knock it in from a long way out well he's one of the best in the country re no doubt but this offense would like him and prefer for him to kick an extra point on this drive and to do that David they've got to have more Rhythm on offense yeah create some more Rhythm create some more explosive plays and maybe some more balance and listen it's nice to have that weapon and kick long field goals you kick too many field goals you don't get very many W's just working and poking and ping and finding his way up to the 36 just a simple power play again not sexy run the ball up the middle physicality offensive line gets to you assert themselves run block what they'd love to do this pays dividends down the road in the fourth quarter better find the ear plugged here comes the noise backing this defense on third down back to throw it's green nice defensive play to get a hand in there and knock it away the Razer backs will bring the punt team onto the field they'll have to punt for the first time this afternoon signals for the fair Catch and hauls it in just shy of the 30 Oklahoma state has it back in the offens is on the field David the putter got some work last time they'd like to keep him on the sidelines in this drive yeah it's not something you want to say very often you don't want the pun out this offense needs to get back lathered up and get a little bit more of a rhythm best way to do that identify where your best players are and just get them the football give these guys some touches to Kickstart this offense let's see what they've got on second down they'll throw again after the incompletion not in locked step there with the receiver that's a throw that QB would like to have back he just has to do a better job giving his receiver a chance to make the catch this offense really needs to get something going punt on the opening drive and now a third and 10 coming up from the gun wants to pass and he intercepts it got some room to run he's at the 10 and he's going to score four on the interception touchdown Arkansas what a play by this defense with the pick six and how about the defender exactly what you're supposed to breaks on the football makes the interception everybody on defense we turn to offense go lay some blocks so my guy can get it and take it back to the house they'll try to add another to their lead and with the extra point they're now up by a touchdown and a field goal at 10 they'll kick it off and send that defense right back out there to try to score again after the pick six he'll bring it back from inside his spot and good work by the coverage team to knock down the Return Man Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David N it it was a big mistake uh obviously the defense took advantage of it but you got to put it behind you Jesse I'm sure you know a thing or two about throwing a pick six and and how to rebound I believe I've only thrown one in my life but yes I do because of that singular instance I'll say this you can't let that play Beat you twice twice you got to go out not try to get it all back here in one play Just execute the offense looking for a man it's Bowman fires to the wide out it's complete and they'll do more than move the change they'll move that thing more than 30 yd down the field before he's finally stopped That's What's So Scary About This offense they've got guys in the perimeter that can change the game in one single play and you saw it right there too much speed on the perimeter to create that explosive play grab behind the line it's Presley and that defense doesn't allow a cut back and they get him out of bounds after a short game this is no surprise to defenses anymore everybody throws wide receivers screens and you could tell they were ready for it they saw the quick game they pounced on it got the wide receiver on the ground that's not the first time they've seen that rout leaves it with the back and he has a solid gain before the defense bottles him up I think you run that play on second down knowing it's going to make Third Down Easy you're not trying to hit a home run you don't need the big play right now now you know third down everything's on the table everything's available High success rate and after the last run would you just give it to him again on third down from the gun wants to pass finds a soft spot in the middle that'll be enough for the first down as they stop him at the 43 yd line they emptied the roster put every receiver they had out there it seemed and they were able to pick up enough for the first down yeah when you do that with all that speed on the field you spread it out what do you got to do find the matchup find the speed Advantage with one of my wide receivers get that good match up get the easy first down quick release on the RPO they make the stop right there good pickup it's still short of the first down nice completion here to this wide receiver and you're going to see this receiver line up in different spots all over the field all game long defense has got to keep their eye on where this guy is because they know he's a big part of this offensive success tried to pound it on first down now back to the line looking for space it's Gordon just enough room to gain a couple down to the 34 oh man there's some big hitting going on in the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game and see if they can contain this running attack how about these two running games so far dominance on the ground as we look at the first quarter steps just about ready to get things started here in the second we'll see if they continue to flex that muscle musling ahead on Third and short he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three awesome job UPF front by this defensive line being so good at the point of attack and eating blocks eating some double teams that allows these linebackers to run free unencumbered and get to the football and the Cowboys will call on their punt team this will be the second time they've had to kick it away and the punt will hit at the one just a little too far for them to be able to doubt it it'll be a Touchback and come out to the 20 from the gun they'll try the middle and knock him down after a gain of three to the 23 and a lot of times you want those big plays you want those Splash plays but sometimes you're going to take some losses you're not going to run the football overly well but if you continue to run it you can at least create some balance you at least have the threat of it otherwise you're just going to abandon it and now it's just going to be a passing game quarterback on the keeper he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple well they're trying to go option but the linebacker shows this open field tackling ability and also was recognition he expected the quarterback to keep it went after and was able to make the tackle for loss Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down looking to throw it's green he puts a lot of air under it down the sideline catch inside the 30 and still running and he Motors into the end zone touchdown Razer backs a lot of times you see those receivers as soon as they get by the DBS you know that hand goes straight up in the air I got him I got to step on him he he got a step on him and the ball was thrown perfectly out in front you can see he runs underneath it gets it and gets the long touchdown on the go route they'll try to attack one more on their score and with the extra point they now have a three possession lead at 17 quick strike offense on that three-play scoring drive and the score comes with a quick strike up top covering 79 yds lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive from inside the 10yd line he'll bring it back he was hoping for something a little more dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field after giving up that score now it's incumbent on this offense to kind of get a back and forth going Jesse in this game they got to put some points on the board here there's obviously a lot of football to go so it's not necessarily Panic time just yet but I'm getting the ball into the hands of my best Playmakers on this drive I I hear you Jesse but not panic time have you seen my defense I mean I'm not trusting them to get a lot of STS so he puts a lot of pressure on this offense the give to the tailb bounced off his feet and I love this because you got second and really really long and what's the idea of the offensive coordinator get third and manageable nice job getting the Run not only a positive run shoot you almost got the first down now you're set up for good success on third down they'll try to muscle their way forward on Third and short from the 29 they'll try to bully their way for the first they were all over him nowhere to go as that third down play turned into a disaster and that's what makes this defense so difficult to run against they've got guys up front that just push offensive linemen backwards they basically pushed the blockers right into the lap of that running back fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way and good work by the coverage team to get the Return Man Down down on the ground and Arkansas ready to send out this offense caught in the back field it's sategna and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few oo and that was close for the offense they tried to go wide receiver screen they're counting on that receiver beating that Defender wasn't able to make him miss that time but if I'm on offense I'm going back to that play later offense gets set for second down using his legs it's Jackson and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one keep pounding away at this defense and make them play the run if you can get this many a chunk they're going to have to commit more guys to the Box more guys to the run then you open it up for the passing G come to the line at the 42 facing a third and short running back goes in motion takes the easy completion and they wrap him up but not before he's got enough for the first down well offensive coordinators put in countless hours every week trying to formate and use different Personnel groupings and shifts and motions to give their offense a success on third down you can tell in this game this offensive coordinator he has put in the work this week looking to pass it's green quick strike complete didn't pick up a lot there moved it Forward just a few this quarterback right now is in a Groove and he's doing a nice job in pre-nap he's reading the coverage and he's getting an idea of where he wants to go with the football that's why the ball's coming out of his hands so quickly that's why he seems like he's in a great Rhythm right now now after the short completion it's second down he's looking to throw finds his Target down the middle he is stopped behind the line line of scrimmage they'll lose yards on that one well give the defense credit on that one cuz they knew coming into this one that they were going to try to get this receiver the ball in a variety of ways they were ready for the screen there and they create a negative play a third and long coming up here from the gun wants to pass skips away from pressure trying to escape and get it himself he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down man that used to just drive me nuts I couldn't stand that the quarterback drops back the pass scrambles around you got me chasing you all over the field getting close to the sideline stay in bounds please stay in bounds let me get a little bit of a reward for all my running so I can just put some kind of hit on you nope steps out of bounds got him in it's brown and quarterback dropping back understanding I'm getting Zone coverage all I got to do is be a little bit patient manipulate that defense a little bit my wide receiver runs that drag and I get the first down two running backs alongside the quarterback they'll give it to the back and the ball's out in there after it and the defense jumps on it they get that turnover oh and it's a hit like that that will absolutely light up the sideline light up the stadium change the momentum and help you win a football game because that hit is what caused that fumble Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense they just haven't been able to get anything going and they better get started or it's going to get away from them David yeah and these are the weeks that you really wish that you were playing a video game and you could just reset the console start over Jesse and make something better happen early they just look like they're sleepwalking in this first half and it's not just one guy they they just haven't been playing collectively as a unit and if I'm the head coach I'm considering starting to give some other dudes some chances here they'll keep it on the ground the Cowboys get enough for the first down well the offense knew what they needed to get that first down so they dial up the running play and they get just enough to keep the drive alive it'll be a first down from the 49 yd line they'll go to the ground and he could not get loose on the run and just a great job by the defense being Stout right that's your job be Stout up front stuff in the Run play make them get in more passing situations but do not let them run the football that's 101 stop off the run first got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 they go to the ground they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one defense is about firing off hitting the offensive guys and staying in your gaps everybody knowing where they're supposed to be you could tell the defense everyone was right where they're supposed to be nowhere to run third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be doozy if they can pull it off looking to move the change they C it complete to the left and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the Stop and the Cowboys send out the punt unit he's getting a lot of work fourth time he's punted tonight no return possible on this one it goes out of bounds and they'll mark it right around the 30 yd line the Hogs send that offense back onto the field after that last drive he came back to the sideline and the coach probably said you dropped it you didn't pick it up come on get on the ball David no that's not what he said he said you're doing a great job just keep your head oh yeah he got blasted you got to hold on the football Palmer turnovers to side games those are big plays it's tough on him too cuz he knows he let his offense down on that last drive so you know that guy's eager and anxious to come out here and make a play they'll keep it on the ground he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and it wasn't lack of effort by the running back he was trying you could tell he fought one guy off but another guy in his face right away just trying to do something the offensive line needs to do a better job keeping some guys off this guy come on man take care of your running back backing up and backing up on the first two plays now to try to throw it in drive on third down he's looking downfield to throw just masterful working that sideline and getting the toe down for the catch that's a really nice and let's hold on just a minute here as the officials are going to have a second look after taking another look just to confirm everything the officials on the field got it right play will stand gets it out fast I like the decision by the quarterback here just get the ball out of your hands get it to your playmaker a lot of times he'll dance and make even bigger plays than he did here but it was still a positive game it's offense set up with a second and short the give to the back and he'll pick up the first down after a tough run there wow what an impressive looking run you think back to some of the greatest rushing offenses in the in recent years remember that offense that had Darren mcfaden and Felix Jones both in the back field sometimes diing Wildcat snaps nobody could stop them this dude I think could have broken his way into that rotation with his ability this guy's sick unloads to the wide out and they won't make the connection looking to make a big play there I know it was incomplete but I'm okay with it if I'm the offensive coordinator I'm going to keep taking shots down the field I'm going to make him honor that deep ball I'll hit some of those before the game's over this offense has a second down play to the air it's green he's got him this time and how about that catch and run so dangerous this guy another first down man this this defense this defense couldn't stop a nose bleed right now it's that bad and the Razer backs have it with a first and 10 looking to move it through the air firing to the end zone touchdown Arkansas and they made it to the house where they found that six points waiting on him defense has to be better on the back end they knew this offense was going to come come out and they were going to challenge them they were going to try to push the ball vertically down the field they've now given up two touchdown passes in this game theyve got to shore up their play in the back [Music] half and it looks as if they've buzzed down replay wants to have another peek at that last play and the play will stand after the replay booth just does a little double checking to make sure and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further they took it 71 yds down the field and the scoring play comes on a touchdown pass from 22 yds out the kickoff team takes the field to boot this one away and he takes this from inside the five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the six 16 Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field they find themselves in a pretty deep hole here but maybe he hurs one deep down the left side and that one Falls incomplete they tried to go over the top on first down second down coming up well at this juncture in the game with how the scoreboard looks no question this offense is going to have to throw to get back in the game and it's going to be tricky now because the defense is expecting it you're going to throw into a lot of big Zone coverages with everybody's eyes on the the quarterback not going to be easy to the air it's Bowman using the quick game a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half four punts already and they've got to convert here to avoid a fifth he's looking to throw on Third and short got his man downfield and he's brought down after a huge completion well after that last and you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game the Cowboys headed quickly to the line they'll throw it on first down good timing on the quick out gets him on the ground at the 28 but not before a big 10yd pickup I like this tight end he does a really nice job on his route running he's been beating man coverage he can find the soft spots and zones you got to get him involved this first half of offense won't go on the Highlight Reel so far but starting to get things moving it's first and 10 they're working that left side here's a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half I think I like about this SL receiver he's really intentional in his route run the quarterback always knows exactly where he's going to be on the field they've got great chemistry he's looking for a man on second down quickly complete and that is a Nifty bit of navigation to get through that traffic and get the first down that guy might not be the tallest wide receiver in the world but he sure is quick coming out of his break and he shows you on that slant throw from the 14 yd line it's first and 10 wide receiver coming across in motion from the Red Zone he's going to throw it caught in the back field it's Gordon the defense wouldn't let him loose and even though it's in completion they lost yardage you know that's one as a quarterback when you see all those Defenders around your intended target like that just throw it in the ground or throw it away I mean that's a completion that loses yards you're just hurt your offense there just enough time for one final play of the half we've got a timeout in the waning seconds of the half maybe a chance to get off a couple more plays and here on second down they'll send out the field goal unit to try to get three before the break not a particularly long kick from 36 yds out but he'll have to guide it in from the left patch splits the uprights good I know they're trailing going into the locker room here at halftime but kicking that field goal gives them a little bit of a j a little bit of a boost of momentum that they can carry with them into the second half and there's a lot of football left to go here I can't wait to see what [Music] happens that late in a half field goal always gives you a little boost going to the locker room and they'll need to finish off these final few seconds and not allow them to answer from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position first half in the books time now to join Kevin Connor in our halftime update all right fellas looks like you've had a very enjoyable day there today in Stillwater and we have to start this halftime breakdown by addressing the play of this Elite wide receiver this is clearly a young man who once he's finished playing on Saturdays he's going to be playing on Sundays the kid has different gears he has a knack for finding gaps in the defense and I can't remember a college player with that kind of catch radius with that said let's send it back to the guys at Boon picking Stadium [Music] the Razer backs will line up to kickoff and start the second half bringing it out not nearly as much as he'd hoped when he brought it out of the end zone he'll be stopped at the 15 Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense trailing by three touchdowns if you're going to get back in it David the time to start is right now got to start now defense giv points on that last possession again the offense is going to have to score and Jesse probably score pretty quick yeah you got to go Tempo you're going to have to try to fit in as many plays as you can throughout the rest of this game but I think more than that you got to eliminate the negative plays no more penalties and no more turnovers grabbed in the back field it's Presley and he'll be run out out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage not a very productive play there he was not fooled on that one you know a lot of times you want to buy space and you throw this route really when it's off coverage but you could tell the cornerback was up ready to come pounce on that screen and get the tackle for a loss lost one on that last one it's second and 11 keeping it on the ground with the single bat just will his way for a couple out to the 35 and sticking to the run I tell you what a lot of teams that are really good are really stubborn and they continue to run the football even with little success so this offense is going to continue to focus on running the football you can tell and the Cowboys racing to the line in the hurry up looking to throw it's Bowman fires one high and deep and they can't hook up on the big play and that brings up a fourth down well after struggling so much in the first half you thought they would have made some adjustments here at halime to see if they can open up this passing game but early on in the second half they're just not really able to get that done incompletion on third down in your own end you're expecting them to punt the Cowboys will punt it away on fourth down they may have to pay him overtime he's punting for the fifth time today on the move it's the tech he smashes his way through again he gets a block and there he goes he won't get him it's a touchdown that Return Man saw daylight the instant the ball touched his hands and he darted to it and took it to the house en Rees I think it's one of the hardest things to do in football to catch the ball as all these guys are flying around you and you got to take it make a Miss try to find spaces and creases that aren't there great job making a huge play special teams and punt returns coming up big now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead so his big play capability was on full display in that one as he took that punt back for the touchdown the kickoff team is out there and after giving up a punt return for the score this offense needs to do some work here he comes from inside his own five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the n he leaves it with the back Nifty run there pick up of six out through the 25 coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you could run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that six- yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four back to throw it's Bowman going for the big play and it's knocked away downfield the DB getting a hand in there that's a great job by the DB playing the ball in the air you see it all the time DB's kind of get turned around the wide receiver goes up and makes a catch no serve DB great position knocks the ball down for an incompletion so they're facing third and short from the 25 here's a snap ready to cut one loose safe completion on the screen they make the stop but not before the the screen has hit him for a first down and much more really good execution by this offense that is a time honored way to slow down the rush hit him with the screen and a chunk play yeah such a great job cuz you're flying up the field to get to the quarterback cuz everything looks like pass down the field let those guys get up the field throw right behind him he does a little bit of the rest making some moves getting up field making the big play not a whole lot of progress made there on the short run and the defense doing a great job committing to the run when you commit to the run like this obviously you can give up some plays in the passing game but you got to stop the run first picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down pulls and throws off the RPO there to make the tackle but the big throw is good enough to give them a first down man this guy is so Dynamic and that's why you want to try to get him the ball as many ways as you can that time it's a screen throw and he had some nice blocks down field but with his speed and Elusive running ability this dude is dangerous here's an opportunity for this offense in search of its first touchdown it's first and 10 here's the handoff he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple they're trying to run the ball on first down guys but just nothing doing up front their offensive line got blown up on that play there was nowhere for that guy to go after losing a couple on that last play here's second and 12 give to the back he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three they're trying to run the football there's just nowhere to go for the ball carrier inside he tried to bounce it to the outside that linebacker way too fast he met him there and forced the tfl seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down caught behind the line it's prestley and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker you got to love that on defense one of the most critical statistics out there is how do you play on third down how do you prevent the opponent from keeping drives alive right there tackling the catch you gave up the completion whoop-de-do you set up fourth and long you're going to get the ball back go get some water and celebrate the punt is headed out of bounds and that is good news when you have someone as dangerous as he is returning and Arkansas ready to send out this offense man what a drive last time for the touchdown that passing attack was Lethal David yeah you know you hear all these stupid commentators like me and Jesse talking about create balance you know run and pass no when you throw that good spin the ball around so the defense has to find a way to affect the quarterback on this drive because last drive he had way too much time to throw it'll be a first down from the 49 yd line one running back in the back field and he has [Music] it didn't get much on first down it's second and nine from the gun running back gets to give that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there big third down here they need to get the ball to the 41 dropping back it's green the quick out he's out of bounds but not before picking up enough for the first down well they pick up the first against Zone coverage I think a big part of this for young quarterbacks out there is if you're going to be throwing into Zone coverage you got to throw on time you can't stare down receivers because the entire defense has their eyes on you so you can't Telegraph where the ball's going you've got to hold it to the very last possible second try to freeze Defenders with your eyes and then throw the ball into open areas of the field anticipating where your gu is going to be touchdown Razer backs and the punishment has been extended if this dude were a kitchen knife he would be slicing tomatoes so thin your in-laws would never come back to your house well that'd be a good thing I don't know if I want my in-laws to come back anyways but he's been on fire he's been absolutely torching this defense they've had absolutely no answers for it lining up to add another on for the extra point and the extra point just tacks a little bit more onto this huge lead a very efficient five playay scoring drive and they pay it off with a strike from 38 yds out about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown looking for an alley from inside his own 10 nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field running back searching for a hole there's a live football now look what I found I'd say that's a stroke of Good Fortune the offense keeps it so after reviewing the undisputable video evidence the replay booth has decided to overturn the call wants to throw it's Bowman stopped him at the 41 but that's a big pick up of 15 and there was no question in that scenario that's where the quarterback was going he knew he had his receiver in a matchup that he liked running a route where he would find himself opening nice job between those two they'll put it in play from the 41 on first down out of the gun the running back has it and he doesn't find much Running Room a short gain on the play it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your offense up in a good spot got three on first down it's second and seven leaves it with the running back and maybe they want to try where else because there is nothing doing in the middle of this defense you got to have that defense you know you can go to in running situations your base defense where you say okay this is where I'm going to start and I'm going to stop the run stuff it up front my guys play Big up front then if I need to add some blitzes to it later on down the road I can but great job in the base defense making a play finds his tight end great job by the quarterback thrown against Zone coverage you cannot Telegraph where you're throwing the football you cannot eyeball wide receivers so great job by the quarterback using his eyes not staring down his guy and then throwing him open and the Cowboys will punt this one away they'll look to pin him deep bringing it back it's the tegna he'll get it out to about the 20 yd line and that's where they'll Mark him down the Hogs send that offense back onto the field they Unleashed an aerial assault last time that took them right to the end zone David So ree with that drive I think you've accomplished something you wanted to accomplish make this defense think you put them back on their heels now shoot Palmer you might be able to slip a few runs in on this drive to really Jack them up yeah I like that idea but I also like the fact that speed kills and they've got it at the receiver position so if you got one-on-one matchups man take advantage on the option look out he's got R and he Froze that Defender he thought he was going to pitch it kept it himself and turned it into a big play and dude when you got a guy like this that can just hit the gas and go pick up 15 plus yards what a luxury how nice is it to have a quarterback like that when I'm a tailback when I can send the tail back One Direction quarterback the other direction this guy's just got so much speed and a nyd gain on first down leaves him with second and short you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you pick up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the offense that kind of pickup on first down and you can take a shot here on second and short looking for space it's Jackson and he's knocked down but not before moving the chain and listen if it ain't broke don't fix it I I mean I love teams that commit to the Run and when it's successful keep running the rock yeah David I I think this offensive line right now they've got a lather going they're really sort of getting in the groove and flow of this game they're just getting tremendous push at the point of attack it seems like every single time they decide to run the [Music] ball after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down pre- snap motion quarterback trying to get a read grab near the marker it's brown they make the stop but the sweet rolling catches plenty to give him a first down I tell you what that's great execution between the QB and receiver they look like they could execute that throw in their sleep quarterback took his steps threw it on time great route by the receiver nice job securing the catch and the Razer backs with the first and and 10 they'll run it in the Red Zone it's Jackson able to get one down to the [Music] 15 didn't get much on first down it's second and nine wide receiver now comes in motion from the gun they'll try to impose their running game relying on the Run he gets a couple before he's knocked down balls at the 13 they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one that's the end of the quarter and AR saw has the lead this has been a complete obliteration so far as the third quarter stats will show [Music] you so will the beat down continue or is this a comeback for the AG is in store we'll see as we start the fourth the give to the right can't get him to the ground and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down they'll play it safe and try for three it is good well that's just piling on not the penalty kind just the mean kind 41 Oklahoma he keep pushing that lead out and the kickoff team's getting some work bills Darth the return inside is five and the Return Man reaches the end of the line and down he goes Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense their Drive chart is starting to look a little monotonous punt punt punt David and their defense is starting to get a little frustrated too they just keep putting me back on the field possession after possession Jesse this offense needs to get their heads out of there you know what the punter's on the sideline with the oxygen mask right now he's been playing so much he's not used to this this offense they just got to stay on the field they've got to put a drive together and get some balance going running and throwing the ball throws to the wide out finds him man on the left a quick tackle made but he's got plenty for the first down the offense has struggled they're not going to win this game but trust me this coaching staff is still trying to find things to build off of for next week and after an explosive play like that maybe they can generate just a little bit of momentum and gain a little bit of confidence that they can keep coaching up heading into their next game a strike downfield they'll get the first down it's spotted on the 49 you know the defense doesn't have an answer for this slot guy right now they may want to think about bracketing him having a Defender play to the outside and to the inside probably some sort of Zone coverage where you're trying to get two bodies forcing the quarterback to have to go somewhere else with the ball back to pass it's Bowman he lets it Fly and he dropped it it looked for all the world like that would be a catch and he just got too excited well a lot of things haven't gone right for him you saw an incompletion right there it's been offense it's been defense they just haven't been able to click and get into a rhythm here and now they're playing catchup and you know they're going to be throwing at each and every play here in the fourth quarter he'll just keep slinging it oh he drops it right down the middle of the field and he couldn't make the play at this point of the game in the fourth quarter it is going to be tough for this offense to get some completions here because now trailing by this much the defense is expecting pass and they're putting a whole bunch of extra DBS on the field to help them out in coverage if they can convert here that type of play can really he lobs one high down the left side and that one's in incomplete they weren't just trying to move the chain they were trying to move the scoreboard instead it's fourth down and it's just been that kind of day for this quarterback in this offense guys they have never been able to get into a rhythm throwing the football timing's been off accuracy hasn't been great we've seen some drops just not in sync that's why they find themselves trailing by a lot right here late in the game going back to the well another deep ball ripped off a huge chunk play on that one as he gets the first down before he stepped out of bounds hey man that was just perfect execution offensively on a fourth down like that if you're going to throw a completion get the first and keep the drive alive QB's got to be great with his eyes he's got to throw it on time his target has to be in the perfect place at the perfect time and you got to be able to haul it in they checked all the boxes on that fourth down fires toward the end zone and the ball is intercepted and as a defensive lineman late in the game man when you know it's passed you're pinning your ears back trying to get to the quarterback and DBS are trying to do this pad them stats get the int nice job by this D and Arkansas ready to send out this offense so last time David they ate up some clock ran a bunch of plays but settled for the field goal yeah but they're still up Reese and I like where I'm at if I'm on offense right now my job is to put another long drive together eat more clock and get another score just got to be better in the Red Zone this time around when they get down close to the goal line you need better execution put a touchdown on the board here didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second and 11 they're testing the right side here nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry it's going to be tough sledding for the offense here they're trying to ice this game by running the football and leeding the clock they've got a pretty good lead here late in the game the defense knows the run's coming right so they're going to be loading the line of scrimmage getting stops like what they just did be interesting to see what the offense does on this next one a little pre- snap eye candy for the defense fires to the wide out and they fail to hook up up on third down and that is a frustrating possession for this offense you wanted to run the football maybe take some time you did the opposite got in the bad situation through the football stop the clock not how you manage a game late in the fourth quarter the Razer backs decide to punt it away three and out and not much choice but to get rid of the ball fair catch called for and Made Oklahoma state has it back and the offense is on the field that last Drive was promising for a while but you just can't mess it up at the end with the pick Jesse no you got to be able to finish drives especially in this game if you're going to win in David they've got to be able to eliminate the metal mistakes yeah and I don't think you get conservative or play it safe you can trust your guy I think you put the ball right back in his hands and let him do his thing trying to convert this second and short looking for a man it's Bowman fires to the tight end and oh he was Off to the Races after the catch and they finally drag him down ever since they invented the forward pass the tight ends have been running the drag and getting the first down I I think it's because the tight ends so much versatility you know they can block and stay in the formation or they can release and come out but either way if the quarterback's patient most of the time that drag route's going to come over got it in the middle it's fost this this offense has their work cut out for him man because the coverage has been so tight and if you're not throwing to the sideline or you're not getting past the sticks this defense is going to tackle you inbounds like they just did on that last play and bleed the clock five wide receiver formation on second and nine he's looking to throw he's got his man and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pickup nice job by the quarterback pre snap and post Snap he knew the defense was going to be playing Zone coverage and there was no doubt in his mind where he was going with that football the Cowboys are rolling down the field they'll try the Run makes his man miss it's going to be important this offensive line is able to get a little bit of push just got to give this guy an inch a little crease and he can make yards for it [Music] halfway there on first down it's second and five he's looking to throw and that's a mistake you don't expect to see from a senior and he is lucky to get it back and that's just the kind of game it's been for this quarterback in this offense you got a great game playing all week long you're watching it throughout practice you think you're going to have a chance to light up the scoreboard but they're just not able to hook up you got to give this defense a ton of credit they've done a great job in coverage they've been breaking on passes they've had their number and that's why they're leading by as much as they are he's got it on the Move couldn't quite nudge it in not sure you could get much closer but it'll be first and goal looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out and the Cowboys line it up with a first and goal they move the tight end all over they'll try to get it in with the Run they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and you got to get locked in in the Red Zone a lot of defensive coordinators they'll tell you we'll give up yards but we got to understand what we're trying to get accomplished great job down here near the goal line this defense Bo their neck up and getting a big stop can the defense stop them again on second and goal tries again to get it in and he takes it in for the score touchdown Cowboys yeah they put together a drive they they got a touchdown it's been a bad day I mean this is a day they're going to want to forget they're getting destroyed but at least you get some positive vibes maybe maybe finish this game on a little bit behind not a little bit he'll try to tack on one more hit that one with some aggression for the point after they marched 56 yds to the end zone and they punctuated it with the 5yd touchdown run just about set to kick it away returner will field it and try to get some field position didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the Hogs send that offense back onto the field boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here P yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this drive they opened up this drive getting all the way out to the 35 and now it's first down again might as well run him until they stop him he's got it again they can rely on this guy to pick up solid yardage when they need it and he's out to the 43 and how good does that feel right you've got the lead in the fourth quarter the defense knows you're going to try to run the ball to ice the game and you rip off an 8yd run they know it's coming and they still can't stop it 8- yd pickup on first down leaves them with second and short quick pass on the Fly motion they get him on the ground but not before he gets enough for the first down I love the idea and I love just finding ways to get your best players out in the open field this pre- snap motion and using it to their advantage on that last play I think that was a nice call and the Razer back getting set on First and 10 hand off to the single back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and sometimes for the defense it just takes one play right to create some momentum obviously this guy's been eating him up he's got over a 100 yards rushing on the day but finally David they get something positive here in the Run game defensively but you kind of know that coming in he's going to get his such a great back and he's had a great day need to put more plays together like that right there really nice stop there from this senior leader they'll try to move the chains on this third and long from the 50 they go to the draw they'll finally drag him down but not before he gets it to the 40 and it's a first down man and this is exactly what you want to do when you're on offense you have the lead you want to chew the clock keep the ball on the ground keep that thing just ticking Palmer they're just imposing their will David and that's something that we've seen I think all game up front they've been the more physical team they're the ones that's getting push and that's getting movement and it's carrying over all the open Runway ahead touchdown Arkansas and the route is on man this has been a complete performance the defense has been lights out and the offense obviously just continues to pour it on this is what you call having a great day putting it all together offense defense complimentary football on to attempt the try on exra point and with the extra point the lead is even bigger so a scoring drive there of 83 yds and they finished it off with a 40 yd touchdown run there lining up to boot it away he'll bring it out it's Presley didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Oklahoma State hoping to get the pistols firing on offense how about getting the foot down on that throw for the big completion and he just continues to put up numbers and that number is now over 300 this guy just throws completions man the ball doesn't seem to touch the ground he's back there he's making the right reads right now he is locked into what this defense is trying to do wants to throw on first down unloads to the wide out grabbed over the middle it's Owens and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down Zone coverage means everybody's looking at the quarterback so now when I'm a wide receiver I got to make sure I know I fit in the hole between these zones I know where they're dropping to and I know where I need to get to great job by the wide receiver finding that hole and the quarterback throwing a strike he makes the connection make the stop at the 40 but it's a 10yd gain and a fresh set of downs big play in the passing game there and I like the receiver gearing down in the zone did a nice job finding the soft spot on defense between the Defenders giving the quarterback an easy target to throw to to complete that throw now on first down from the 40 they're going to throw it again fires to the wide out receiver wasn't ready for the throw incomplete you see an incompletion there I think a big reason why this team is in such a hole right now in the fourth quarter is they have just not been able to find the explosive plays thrown the ball and you got to wonder at this point is it too little too late second down here and maybe they've got time to get one more snap off before the two-minute warning all kinds of room to throw that one in there and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play well I'll give this offense some credit because they've got a lot of fight there is no quit in them and they're obviously trailing by a big amount in this game they haven't had a lot of success but they're still taking shots and their players are still out there competing feeling some heat and the pressure gets there and down he goes at the 18 and this defense came to play they know about the high-profile QB they Rose to the challenge and dominated the competition today they took care of business and they made no doubt about who's the better football team that offense having to deal with the last thing you want on first down giving up a sack as they come up to the line on second down catch in the middle it's Presley they'll get it down to the 8 yd line on that throw and catch and the defense is backed up against the wall and listen the defense playing really conservative right you got the lead but here's what I'm trying to do I'm trying to get sacks I got to get to the quarterback like I got to make sure I'm getting him knocking him off the spot patting my stats by the way got a lot of sacks late in games when we had a big lead but that's okay that's what you're supposed to do keep competing defense lets it go to the end zone and that one is Right On Target if his Target was the first row and this defense has put a game together like it is hard to put all the facets of Defense together run defense pass defense they've been so good man dialed in you could tell they were ready they were fast they were physical they dominated this football game today it's fourth down and they'll try the field goal it is true as he puts three on the board and they'll put three on the board but the deficit remains huge and I know a lot of people are scratching their heads why they try to kick that field goal you're in the fourth quarter you're down a b load of points a field goal isn't going to do it if you want to win this game you need touchdowns I would anticipate for every possession they get from here on out man you got to be way more aggressive they'll kick it away after putting up a field goal on that last Drive on the move from inside is five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 and Arkansas ready to send out this offense firmly in control of this game we'll see if they just try to run out the clock and get out with the victory everybody on offense here should feel really good about their performance today too David they had a really good game plan coming into this one they went out and they executed at a very high level yeah lights out and this game's over interested to see the philos now do we keep chucking the pill and keep trying to score points cuz it's the defense's responsibility to stop them or do they just run this clock and say all right we did enough today we kicked them in the face power football with the Run thrust that arm out he steps out of bounds but he's got enough for a first down this guy's been special today coming into this one they thought they had an opportunity really to get him going running the football and he has delivered you've seen the speed the Vision his ability to break tackles well over 100 rushing yards in this game and that's why they have a nice lead here late they'll snap this one from the 32 it's first down they'll run it out of the shotgun that's what
