Michael and Tyson best friends and professional baseball players from Vancouver I got drafted with the Toronto Blue Jays played with them for seven years Bas for I was drafted by the SE manners playing with the Philadelphia philes as well home will stop at second we actually got to play a couple tours together we were teammates for Team [Music] Canada we not only bring in the physicality we're the Mr ciali Racers better be where we're coming we're coming um first of all I want to say it's nice to meet both of you um congrats on making it this far on the amazing a Canada and you guys honestly you guys are such like a power go like I'm not even surprised that you guys even made it this far um so I'm curious like who um whose idea was it to go on the amazing new Canada and what motivated you guys to come on the show t want take the reins on this honestly Michael and I were sitting there we were taking a trip to to London for his birthday um and him and I love to travel I think you can really see that in the show that we we love to race we love to experience you know different cities and cultures so we saw a um a preview on the TV and basically just thinking right away I was like we can definitely do something like that I'm like that looks like a Tuesday for us so oh we got a video together of we got a video together of you know TR traveling the world and yeah so we sent it we sent it in and sure enough uh they they liked it and then we contined to use that as kind of a motivating uh platform for a few months span to continue to travel and just kind of show the show that I mean this is what we enjoy to do is we want to inspire people to you know go indulge in in in different cultures and different cities and you know try different experiences I love that um so is there anything that you did in particular to kind of prepare for the show uh prior to like finding um after finding out when you guys are gonna be on it oh the the the the preparation for this show started way back when you know we both got drafted into professional baseball I mean you can even you know debate that it went way back to when we were 5 years old but this is this is our everyday life you know like we've been traveling with baseball we've been jumping on buses not getting any sleep and then having to play that next day jumping on airplanes um getting traded to another team so you know to be able to jump on The Amazing Race Canada is just like nothing is fake this is this is our everyday like Tyson said this is a Tuesday for us it literally just part of your routine huh yeah exactly it's like brushing your teeth it's the same thing um so then did you what what was what was the task that you found U let's say the most fun and the most challenging what about you Mich like I guess you question the most fun the most fun and challenging um challenge uh I would say the most fun for me was you know running into Mosaic stadium and having to catch a football pass by you know QB number one one you know that stadium is absolutely gorgeous to like the fans there were kind of like super electric and then to see your boy wearing a watermelon head on like it was just a completely amazing Challenge and then and then I got to hit somebody like I've been playing baseball where I hit the baseball I get to finally hit somebody again going back to my you know my my my hey days when I was 13 that was definitely one of the most fun challenges and the most challenging challenge has to be the challenge that we use an express pass on the the puzzle um yeah Express Pass we were talking about if we can get the express pass we're going to win a leg you know D and we had to use it to survive and like looking back at it I don't know if if we didn't have that Express Pass are we even talking to to Michelle right now like are we at the house are we are we going into the finals I have no idea that that definitely saved us and it was definitely one of the most challenging what would you guys say is like one of kind of the most valuable lesson that you learned um just on your whole experience on being on on The Amazing Race Canada um one of the most valuable lessons you know I've learned by being on The Amazing Race is is definitely to keep challenging myself um it's easier to do that when you know you're playing when you're when you're playing professional sports you you challenge yourself every single day on the field with baseball but you know you can get into such routines on the everyday life that you have to remember to continue to challenge yourselves with you know with relationships or different challenges or doing stuff outside of your comfort zone so you can continue to evolve or or else you're going to be stuck and you know this race definitely challenges you every single time you rip rip open that clue okay um oh Tyson's back welcome back Tyson um so I mean without really revealing too much uh what would you guys say uh like what are your thoughts kind of as you head into the finale oh right now our thoughts heading to the finale are this this is it you know everything everything off the table now there's really no holding back I remember or I know that we're really going to have to lean on each other and we're really going to have to continue to push each other because we know that there's going to be some challenges coming up that are going to be extremely difficult and we got to make sure that we're just there for each other and that we're giving each other a great support system what would it mean for you guys to win The Amazing Race Canada you know this is such a you know a a high-end show from from my standpoint you know watching it growing up um to win The Amazing Race Canada would be incredible um you know you you play professional baseball you get to Trav you get to do this but to throw like the winners of Amazing Race Canada season 10 would be absolutely incredible be truly amazing for us our families our our kids because I know our kids really love really love the show and I know that they they really love to see their coaches going out there and and struggling and and going into battle and going through that adversity that we lay on them all the time so you know I think I think that would be probably the biggest thing for me is you know to to uh win for them and uh you know continue to to show them that you know you got to embrace the unknown and and make sure you're always challenging yourself outside of your comfort zone and um my final question for you guys is um so we're here all about going the extra mes so what's one thing that you do on your professional life um daily life a personal life that you do where you go the extra mile um yeah besides running that extra mile I think you know embra embracing the unknown I'll continue to say it is is continue to jump into things that aren't necessarily comfortable for you um to find that different branch off the tree you know to find that different route um in your journey and if you can do that and you can do that from a consistent basis you will figure out how to go that extra mile and you know evolve into a person you might have never seen uh to evolve into before anything else you like to add in Tyson I would say that you know I feel like I've always had to go the extra mile you know growing up with Superior hearing disability and that that thing that could be very comfortable and normal to everybody else is was always something that the beginning was super difficult for me so I think that's why I I made it known to embrace the unknown and and force myself and challenge myself to do everything every little thing in life doesn't matter if it's on the sports side on the Arty side and I always always just wanted to you know keep myself guessing and and continue to have all the experien as I can listen thank you guys both for your time um I'm really excited to see with this what happens on the
