WATCH: Anthony Wilson speaks with the media following WVU's loss to Penn State

questions for Anthony Greg so Anthony just start out you know obviously not what you guys wanted so explanation is how it happened why it happened um we just got to be better overall offense defense special teams um you know there's a lot of plays that we left out there um but only thing we can do is just put our head down and go back to work and that's what we going to do Coach Brown said that you guys during the delay watched the whole first half just you know now you you've been able to watch that film how would you evaluate you know that first half performance and then you know compare the to your second half um you know the first half there were some things um defensively that we could have done better um but I feel like as the game went along we started to settle in um play our game but like I just said um we just got to be more consistent and just everybody just do their job can you get over excited in a game like that definitely definitely you got to um um like Coach Brown always tell us um don't be too high don't be too low so you just got to learn how to um just um have the right right uh balance with the two backs with Singleton and Allen just what is it what's the challenge like defensively against Penn State and just trying to stop with they do well um you know they're they're a team that wants to run the ball you know they they lean heavy on their backs um but you know going up against backs like that you just got to um wrap up and just technique um and just do the things that we're Coos to do going off of Gray's question would you say looking back maybe you could evaluate that you guys were were too excited for the game and maybe that caused the problem early or we don't know yet no I don't think we were too excited um I think we were in the right place um overall mentally delay tough for a player to sit there for over two hours and wait and wait yeah definitely um just sitting there not knowing when you going to go back out you know we were hearing different things about the the storm coming in or whatever but um you know um our strength staff does a good job of keeping us loose and um ready obviously tough one today but you still have a wide open Big 12 and a whole schedule to go what's the message with you and your defense trying to bounce back uh one game doesn't Define us um we're going to be better and we're going to continue to get better and um all we can do from this is um learn from it and that's what we're going to do moving forward what kind of challenges this pres that quarterback um you know I felt like U as a defense We There were some times where um we had it everything covered and he just um scrambled out the pocket and you know made some plays with his legs but that's just something that we got to continue to work on and get better at new offensive coordinator so anything that they did that surprised you a little bit um overall no um I mean the coaches they had us prepared um um scheme wise but you know we just got to be better how is it you know the first half there time left how hard is it um you know when you give up the big play to as a defense to kind of I guess not already be in halftime but you know still be in there play defense um you know I mean that's just part of playing defense you know sometimes you might um might get the short end of the stick but we got to keep playing as a defense so I mean that just something that comes with it okay anything else for Anthony all right thank you very much
