tonight the day after the debate the presidential hopefuls meet again just hours after their fiery face off where the race goes from here plus why a baseless conspiracy theory about migrants eating pets in Springfield Ohio found its way to the presidential debate we'll speak directly to a local official there then he is the only Democrat who has faced JD Vance former Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan is here for some advice for the Harris campaign as the 11th Hour gets underway on this Wednesday night good evening once again I am Stephanie Rule and we are now just 55 days away from the election but today campaigning was temporarily set aside as the candidates joined together with the country in marking 23 years since the 9/11 Terror attacks just 10 hours after facing off against one another in an intense debate VP KLA Harris and Donald Trump greeted one another and shook hands at a solemn commemoration at Ground Zero here in New York City Harris Trump and JD Vance spent the day attending several events here in New York in Washington and Shanksville Pennsylvania while Governor Tim wals was in Minnesota where he honored 911 victims with a day of service helping volunteers pack meals for food banks of course tomorrow everybody is back out there campaigning and we're going to see how last night's debate has changed the national con conversation and the candidate strategies my colleague Peter Alexander has more on that for 90 minutes Harris delivered on her strategy to try to provoke outbursts from the former president mocking his rallies and what you will also notice is that people start leaving his rallies early out of exhaustion and boredom Trump repeatedly taking the bait she said people start leaving people don't go to her rallies there's no reason to go har is pressing her rival on his refusal to accept the 2020 election results Donald Trump was fired by 81 million people clearly he is having a very difficult time processing that and in another dramatic moment slamming him for praising the repeal of roie Wade you want to talk about this is what people wanted pregnant women who want to carry a pregnancy to term suffering from a miscarriage being denied care in an emergency room because the health care providers are afraid they might go to jail and she's bleeding out in a car in the parking lot she didn't want that but Harris did not specify if she supports any restrictions on abortion Trump targeted Harris for her record on the economy I've never seen a worse period of time people can't go out and buy cereal or bacon or eggs or anything else and On the Border they've destroyed the fabric of our country millions of people let in oh boy with that let's get smarter with the help of our lead off panel tonight Peter Baker joins us chief White House correspondent for the New York Times Molly J fast is here a special correspondent for Vanity Fair and an MSNBC contributor and Michael steel is here former chairman of the Republican National Committee and former lieutenant governor of Maryland but you know him as the co-host of the weekend right here on MSNBC Peter I turn to you first because you were at Ground Zero with President Biden as well as the VP Donald Trump JD Vance what was it like to see KLA Harris and Donald Trump together the only thing separating them was little Mike Bloomberg standing between them what 12 hours after an absolutely brutal debate yeah there was something kind of surreal about it right I mean they had spent an hour and a half on stage savaging each other uh calling each other a disgrace and weak and horrible and all these uh you know insulting things uh and they they were the next day basically as you say 12 10 hours later uh standing under the same tent uh at 911 and it was in fact Mike Bloomberg who actually reached out to touch uh Pat Uh uh K Harris to get her to turn around to draw her in to shake Donald Trump's hand and they did have a seemingly friendly handshake uh in fact Trump uh seems to have said something pleasant to her even patted her hand uh and they you know got along fine but it's it's a reminder I think not of how politics used to be where there used to be kind of a ECT across the aisle instead I think it's a reminder of how important 9/11 still is the solemnity of this moment that it forces politicians who really don't like each other very much to at least pretend that they're part of the same country the same Nation the same uh you know Society at least for an hour on uh there at such hallow ground well it is it is something that New Yorkers are so proud of the way we come together but it is something when Mike Bloomberg is the one asking you to be polite that is a rare day um Michael let's talk though about 9/11 I mean a truly devastating day for our country especially for New Yorkers and on that day Donald Trump made a point of saying that his building became the tallest in New York City after the World Trade Center fell Not only was that a grotesque thing to say it was also a lie along with the other lie he told that thousands of Muslims were standing on roofs of buildings in New Jersey celebrating the attacks that's who Donald Trump was 23 years ago today so why is anyone surprised that 23 years shy one day later last night on the debate stage he lied for 90 minutes straight that's who he is yeah that's who he is and that's you know that's who he was 23 years ago and that's who he is today um look Donald Trump has never been sensitive to the moment he doesn't un he did not understand the gravity of of 9/11 he didn't process it the what he did process was now he has the tallest building in New York that's what he processed um the other thing he processed and you know was conspiracy theories that Muslims keep you know keeping with this vein of anti-muslim hatred that tried to emerge on the heels of 9/11 but for uh the the guidance and and and soft words actually of of President Bush to remind us who we are in a moment like this um he would have gone down that rabbit hole and tried to perpetuate uh those lies about Muslims stirring up anti-muslim hate among white people that's basically what Donald do hiso so it doesn't surprise me that he's standing on the stage 23 years later with a black woman who's running for president paring the same BS and nor should the rest of us be surprised especially the media that's covered him for 23 years especially in the last n years so I wish the media would stop acting surprised when Donald Trump behaves a certain way because you've been covering that ISS for as long as he's been on the stage and I think that's something that a lot of Americans uh as you look at this moment are trying to pull themselves away from this sort of you know oh my God uh you know look at Donald Trump perform again we're tired of it and and there is a level of exhaustion that a lot of Americans have which is it's opened up this moment for kamla Harris the way it has she just said y'all got to be tired by now because I know I am so let's go this way let's go forward in in 2016 one could make the argument for a lot of Americans he was a new face he was a new voice people like the way he spoke directly but now in 2024 people know EX exactly who Donald Trump is there are no surprises but Molly Frank Lun had one of the most notable tweets of the night and I'm just going to share it with our audience if Harris wants to win she needs to train her face not to respond it feeds into a female stereotype and more importantly it risks offending undecided voters what a hairbrained what a hairbrained idea you had there Frank are you kidding me Molly are you kidding me yes this is a stereotype if you're living in 1982 well you know I don't like to commit media on media violence but in this case I did troll him and say this is just totally misogynistic but I thought it was interesting stupid and it's it is also very stupid and it isn't and it isn't what happened at all that's the point right and I think that's the most interesting thing was she actually got the power she used the power you I read today this Sarah Longwell piece in the Atlantic about how a lot of these on the fence voters were saying she looked presidential and even and I read some other you know sort of on the fence voters were saying that they related when she was laughing so I do think that it was just something from another century and and look there you know there are these sort of hot take punditry things that and some of them are misogynistic and the idea that she can't have normal facial expressions is one of them but but Molly isn't this like she really won the game of TV last night she could have had a lot of totally normal outraged fired up responses but she showed incredible discipline right like a like a Silent Assassin letting him spin himself like a top yeah and she look she did a ton of research she did a ton of prep and you could tell because she sort of knew what would get him and then she stepped back and let him do it and and you know that was just a sort of she's been very good at kind of of proving the doubters wrong he did prep it was um tulsy gabard and Laura lomer who prepped him I'm gonna leave that there all right Peter we are hearing team Trump go on and on today how unfair it was because he got fact checked way more than kamla Harris did but here's the thing of course he did Donald Trump spent the entire night repeating well-known lies and the fact checks they were pretty basic right it's not an aggressive a fact check to say I'm sorry sir nobody's eating animals or killing babies yeah I mean there's if there's more factchecking it's because there're more facts or alleged facts to check right and and no question about it he laid out a whole lot of things that were obviously completely false or fictional my one of my favorites is where he says that everybody in the country liberals and conservatives Democrats and Republicans wanted roie way overturn so the abortion issue could go back to the States that's obvious not even close to True uh last poll I showed so 60% were opposed to to overturning roie way but he has said this repeatedly now as if it was true and somehow doesn't seem to be uh daunted when people do fact check him and as you rightly say the eating dogs episode I think is one of the things we'll remember most about last night if if not just because it wasn't true but because it seemed so farcical and and and you know absurd to bring it up in the first place but you know look the moderators got uh criticized last time around when Trump uh faced off Joe Biden for not doing more realtime factchecking I'm sympathetic it's really hard to do that in the moment if you stop every single sentence that a politician says and particularly a politician like Donald Trump and says wait a second there's Fuller context here this isn't quite right here's something you didn't say uh you know there's a there's a balance to be had between allowing a debate to cve forward and allowing the other person in the debate to challenge uh you know factual masser and and not allowing you know complete falsehoods to be uh you know put on your air and that's a tough balance for any moderator to take I think uh I think the moderator last night did a good job if Donald Trump is going if anybody's going to be mad about the Donald Trump repeating these dog stories he should be mad at Fox News and JD Vance for feeding him this puppy chow he said it right on TV he learned it from watching his favorite TV personalities Michael do you think at the end of the night at the end of the day any votes were changed last night because before the debate we talked all about the undecided voters who said they didn't know enough about her they hadn't seen her last night and last night she put on a show and so did he yeah generally I would say probably just a little bit at the margins maybe perhaps around the corner you know somebody said oh yeah I think I'm going to vote differently um that was not this debate I think this debate did have more than a marginal impact on voters I think it was apparent in some of the uh overnight um reaction and responses uh from focus groups as well as spot polls that were taken uh when you're showing 60 plus per of the people watching the debate said that uh she kamla Harris won yeah and when a lot of those voters are you know sort of undecided uh center right uh independent uh voters um who have largely been on the fence because of their hesitation around Joe Biden um and now feel a little bit more engaged in in leaning into this uh conversation for for the presidency yeah I think it did and I think she acquitted herself as a president should and that was important because going into this one of the things I was very interested in seeing how she would manage was her prosecutorial instincts up against her presidential mantle and she was able to hold that presidential mantle in front of the American people while she spank that behind a little bit along the way uh as a prosecutor uh and and I and I and I appreciated that I appreciated that because that's what she needed to do and I think a lot of Voters responded to that I I I think Peter in his reporting and others you know could probably sense that there was something different about this not to put Peter on the spot but something different about this debate as opposed to some of the others um that the voters were receiving this a little bit differently than they had Bush Vore or you know the first um uh Biden and and Trump debate uh I should correct myself we know that Laura lumer was there she traveled with Donald Trump she was uh in the spin room we do not know that she prepped him Chelsea gabard gets all that credit Molly let's talk about Taylor Swift um this morning Donald Trump said she will probably pay for her endorsement in the marketplace I.E she's going to lose scores of fans she's going to lose business I heard that from other right-wing pundits but I want to remind our audience that Taylor Swift endorsed Joe Biden four years ago since then the Aras tour raked in more than a billion dollars it is the highest grossing concert ever she had the top selling album of the year three of the last four years while you and I are sitting here she's across the street at Radio City probably taking home all of the Video Music Awards what do you make of this endorsement and this backlash that that her fans who are Republicans are going to no longer be swifties they're going to shake her off I me Donald Trump loves a threat right he loves to threaten people and conservatives love a boycott right but from Bud Light you know oh hold on sis yeah liberals they're no stranger to the bo for sure but you know they remember the yes for sure there were Goya beans too there's but boycotts political boycotts are you know look I'm not I'm not too worried about Taylor Swift I think she's going to be just fine but it is important you know Trump really has this sort of binary you're either for him or against him and if you're for him then he wants to bestow crony capitalism on you and if you're against him then you know but as Michael was just saying listen debates usually don't matter this one might we could say the same about celebrity they usually don't matter could Taylor be different right look at the amount of people thousands have registered to vote between last night and today because she didn't just say I'm on this team on her Instagram she said and here's how you register to vote yeah and in fact there were searches of you know am I registered to vote in Texas right so yeah no she's a huge driver of of get out the vote and by the way you know conservative uh radio hosts were I mean there was a celebrity there remember um Rush limbo was the biggest get out the vote driver when he was still alive so you know she's not a political person but she had you know she her her music is in some ways very you know emotional and for a lot of these people and so she is sort of you know and musicians rock stars artists have been political forever this is nothing new I introduce you to Bob Dylan all right Miguel Peter Molly thank you all for starting us off this evening among the many things we heard from Donald Trump during the debate with KL Harris was a baseless lie about Haitian immigrants in Springfield Ohio these are the people that she and Biden led into our country in Springfield they're eating the dogs the people that came in they're eating the cats they're eating they're eating the pets of the people that live there and this is what's happening in our country and it's a shame no it is not that right there was former president Donald Trump spreading a conspiracy theory that he learned from social media in front of tens of millions of Americans the truth matters on this show and I want to make this absolutely clear none of what you just heard from the former president is remotely true for more on this I want to bring in an actual expert on this subject Clark County Commission president Melanie Wilt um thank you so so much for being here commissioner the governor of your state Mike dwine has said this is not true can you please tell us in the in your official capacity have you seen EV any evidence of these claims pets being stolen killed and eaten absolutely none I have spoken with our Springfield PD and our Sheriff's Office we have had um concerned calls come into our Dispatch Center and they've been followed up on and have not been substantiated what was your reaction last night you like millions of other Americans are watching the debate what was your reaction when you heard Donald Trump talk about Springfield and spread this lie we do have very real issues in Springfield Ohio and immigration is a very real issue so I'm glad that our federal uh potential president is talking about it and bringing light to it uh but the issues in in Springfield that are really related to a big surge of Haitian refugees coming to our community most of them are actually here legally um local leaders in our community are really focused on the issues that matter which are ensuring that people are driving um with proper licenses secondly funding to help alleviate the pressure that we're feeling from the infrastructure um when we have 20,000 more people working in the same infrastructure it just doesn't work anymore and finally we want to work on cultural assimilation and helping people to um overcome some of these cultural gaps and barriers that we're seeing between our traditional Springfield and Clark County residents and those who are new to our community why do you have this large group of of immigrants mostly from Haiti it's my understanding that they came here several years ago for jobs and inexpensive housing we have a very low cost of living in comparison to the rest of the United States here they came here for jobs and were brought by temp agencies that had opportunities to place them in positions here uh because we did have available jobs one Haitian Community leader in Springfield spoke to my colleague yamish alcendor I want to share what he said about how these lies have impacted his community they are scared for the lives some of them are asking me uh even yesterday I got a friend calling me asking me if he has to leave because he he's scared for for his life um so another friend told me that um it seems that uh he would have have he would have had some family coming to visit him but it seems that he he going to welcome them in in Columbus a Dayton because he is not it is not safe right now for him in Springfield these are hardworking immigrants who are here legally um doing jobs being part of the community what is your reaction to what he just said there are real concerns uh for those who live here and for uh haian immigrants who have come here as well um one thing that I don't have concerns about is safety um Haitian immigrants are not a law enforcement problem in our community uh they're much more likely to be victims of crimes than be to the be the perpetrators of those crimes um so I do have concerns mostly about what this is doing to the image of our community I do have concerns about what it will do potentially to uh business investment and others who might come here to visit uh because we have a lot of great things in this community that we want people to come here for um president Trump has been to our community before and I know he is aware of that and Senator Vance has been good to uh Ohio and uh to Springfield and we want to encourage encourage them to come and kind of see all of this for themselves can I just ask before we go if you didn't have all those migrants there filling all those jobs what would it do to the economy in Springfield if none of them ever came or if they were subject to a mass deportation well because these are refugees um the deportation conversation is somewhat moot because they're here on temporary um Refugee status so um they are not here on an elite status and so I don't know why there would be any kind of mass deportation um but as far as our economy is concerned we did have available jobs we did need workers and so that was a match at the time that people were brought here to fill those temporary jobs unfortunately we have been saturated and our infrastructure is definitely uh at Max Capacity and we're looking for ways that we can deal with that at this time so we are looking for additional Federal funding um the state has been generous with for healthare and for driver training those are the really important things that we want to stay focused on Melanie thank you so much for joining us tonight getting to the truth and making sure our viewers understand what's happening across this country is crucially important to us I really appreciate your help tonight thank you Stephanie while the Trump team elevates conspiracy theories about immigrants it is worth remembering that two years ago JD Vance won his Senate race by stoking Fe fears about migrants in the state of Ohio as Tim Waltz gets ready to debate Trump's running mate in less than a month our next guest is the only Democrat to face Vance well he's got some insight for Democrats my friend former Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan joins me now he founded the new organization We the People Tim you get some credit because you were the first prominent Democrat to call for Joe Biden to step aside and for KLA Harris to run for president you got a lot of heat for it at the time oh I remember and last night America got to see yeah the KLA Harris that you told us about yeah how you feeling now I feel great uh but she was awesome I feel great for the country I feel great for the party um she was just one of those when when you have tal like any business almost but if you have talent you have smarts um and you're generally like wanting to learn you're going to grow in whatever job you get into even if that job at the time may be a little bit over your head she had the 2020 election which she would say I didn't run a great race or the didn't run a great race she became VP she just kept growing and growing and learning and that's why I was like what are we doing like this is the this is the one that should take the Manel and uh last night it was just so fun to watch the only thing better was Fox News after watching the Meltdown um I wasn't watching Fox News and I'm not sure why you were I got a lot entertainment from that Stephanie you would have gotten a lot here too well let's talk about the VP debate yeah because it's less than a month away you know Tim Walls you have debated JD Vance he is mysterious right when you think about a guy like Tim Walls he's very affable he's someone that you would think might run for office huge liability Factor JD Vance has almost none right similar to aronda santis yet both are in office what's the key to running against this guy I think showing that personality showing the likability talking straight JD can get into these very theoretical high-minded uh conversations to try to explain the insanity of immigrants eating dogs or whatever you can see them last night on some of the shows trying to that's not high minded that's the lowest level possible it is low but he tries to like get into some level of nuance and I think walls' strength is going to be the coach the Straight Talk the explanations that normal people can understand the key is going to really be don't let JD Vance get away with a bunch of his BS because he will try to say I've never said that um that's not what I meant he he'll try to wiggle out of some of these crazy things that he said and spouses and I think walls is actually the perfect person to just kind of call them out on it what do you think about this crazy conspiracy theory right like you know Springfield Ohio and by the way it's I just spoke to the county commissioner president it's totally acceptable to say we have a ton of migrants that have come to this area we've got more than we can handle and we got a problem that's acceptable yeah how does a conspiracy like this start people are stealing killing and eating animals right when you're watching the debate you know exactly where Springfield is you know who lives there yeah what went through your mind how does something like this spread so fast well the the analysis is like the white supremacist groups and some of these extreme groups online started to amplify it and it's all about scaring people and they think that's the best way to do it people in Ohio are are pretty normal people you know they may vote a little more conservative depending on the election but that's normal they're pretty yeah they're pretty normal people and there's nothing wrong with that I think the idea here though is immigration is complicated there's no one that's going to say like this is easy and I thought what Trump did last night put him in a Lane obviously in so many ways but on the extremism eating dogs and cats and all that craziness so the question is if this is so complicated if we need immigrants if they work really hard like a lot of the CEOs in in Springfield have said like I would hire 30 more Haitians because they work so hard but we can't have too many there needs to be a process you can't just come in uh and skip the line that's a complicated conversation who is the leader running right now that can actually bring us together and say let's have this complicated conversation let's admit it's complicated not try to demagogue it and I think that's where KL over the next you know month or two is really going to I think create a lot of space between Trump well that's not what he's doing his fear mongering has gone so far that he's upset an Ohio family that's faced enough grief and tragedy the father of a young boy who was killed in a car crash in Ohio is actually demanding an apology from both JD Vance and Donald Trump after they cited this young boy's death as a reason to stop Haitian immigration I want to play just a bit of that please watch JD Vance and Donald Trump they have spoken my son's name and used his death for political gain this needs to stop now they can vomit all the hate they want about illegal immigrants the Border crisis and even untrue claims about fluffy pets being ravaged and eaten by community members however they are not allowed nor have they ever been allowed to mention Aiden Clark from Springfield Ohio I will listen to them one more time to hear their apologies people from Ohio you just said are normal that is not normal that is a father who is extraordinary his son was killed in an accident yeah I mean that's it's heartbreaking to watch um because anybody who has kids puts themselves in that situation um but what it really illustrates is there is nobody who who um can't be used by Donald Trump and JD Vance to score political points no grieving family no complicated immigration situation um no woman who has a complicated pregnancy like those are all Pawns in the game and I think that's that's the exhaustion um that America sees right now and I think they're just I think they're going to reject that because it's not it's not American it's not human it's not kind it's not compassionate and uh and that's and that's what you see and it's really sad to watch because a poor family like when this show's over and the story subsides they'll never be the same and you watch two politicians just just use them it's also not a game no it's our lives Tim it is always a pleasure to see you great to be with you st always a pleasure I like how they make him in Ohio today we got another sign that inflation may be cooling down the US inflation rate is now at 2.5% the lowest we have seen since February of 2021 that comes as the FED is expected to cut interest rates later this month the economy of course if everyone have said why didn't they talk about the economy they should have turned up the volume because it was the very first question at last night's debate and no surprise the candidates clashed over their plans and how they're going to help voters watch this Donald Trump has no plan for you and when you look at his economic plan it's all about tax breaks for the richest people what the Wharton School has said is Donald Trump's plan would actually explode the deficit I went to the Wharton School of finance and many of those professors the top professors think my plan is a brilliant plan it's a great plan it's a plan that's going to bring up our our worth our value as a country do you believe Americans can afford higher prices because of tariffs they're not going to have higher prices what's going to and who's going to have higher prices is China and all of the countries that have been ripping us off for years I intend to create an opportunity economy investing in small businesses in new families in what we can do around protecting seniors he loves the word many it needs to be the drink and game word when he per many many all right here with me to discuss two old friends of mine Peter Spiegel us managing editor for the financial times and former Wall Street Banker turn journalist bill he's a founding partner of puff news Peter this is really good news on inflation but things still cost a lot right at your a the average thing you want to buy is still 20% higher than where it was a few years ago try to get car insurance try to get homeowners insurance crippling that's why it was a hard question was the first question KLA Harris got asked that are you better off it's hard to say yes because it's complicated despite all this good news what's going to change that I don't think there's enough time frankly and I it was let's be honest the weakest bit of the of her debate last night it was the first question as you said first 10 15 minutes I thought was her weakest response because it's tough for her and even though inflation's coming down those prices are still high and it hits workingclass voters the most and those are the voters she needs so and it's not just car insurance it is groceries and we've done polling for the last year it is really those essential groceries eggs meat those are the things that really people complaining about and I think it's too late which is why what she needed to do and she did it obviously by the end of the debate is change the subject I don't think the economy is a winner for her even though inflation now two months before election date is thing it might not be a winner for her it could potentially have been a winner for Trump but he fled the whole thing because his plan is tariffs that's only going to worsen inflation Bill like I don't understand this Donald Trump is up there right saying listen we needed these tariffs because I learned during Co we don't make chips here so she was able to turn and look at the camera and say yes that's what we have the $53 billion chips act it it was potentially a weakness for her and Donald Trump made it weaker for himself then he cites you know having gone to Wharton and his Wharton professors many professors you know a tariff is a tax on the American people the American people are going to pay that tariff not China not the people who he's slapping the tax on so uh you know it's a combination of his inability to actually understand economics he then talking about how he's going to reduce taxes is you know the corporate income tax from 21 already incredibly low he did that in his first term I think that was a big mistake now he wants to lower it to 15 he's going to cut off the T taxes on tips okay fine taxes on Social Security okay fine but then somehow at the same time that he's reducing taxes everywhere he's also going to finally focus on the national debt and no one is and that's kind of my question right so so but why does he say he's going to why does he pretend that he's focusing on it when he raised the national debt $8 trillion during his administration Bill Cohen have you just asked Peter and I why Donald Trump this show only has 10 minutes to go we can't help you with that do the American people not care about the deficit anymore because Donald Trump's plan will balloon the deficit and KLA Harris's plan will raise the deficit I guess the question is whether the American people ever cared about the deficit the issue though is at some point the markets will begin to care about the deficit I me I spent six years in Europe covering the debt crisis at some point the financial Market says your debt levels are so high we're not going to fund you or we're going to fund you at exorbitant rates and that is bad for everyone suddenly my mortgage rate goes up Suddenly my credit card rates goes up and so at some point the financial markets will say I'm not going to fund the American government and no one and this used to be frankly a republican issue right this is the tea party's issue they would talk about the deficit the Republican party that we used to know we used to know it's all gone you're forgetting at some point the markets will react but but the key word there is at some point we live in a world of short-termism and none of these lawmakers care because they don't think it'll happen on their watch do you think though that last night her performance changed anybody's mind and I am talking about kind of the Wall Street class Elon Musk of all people even came out and said on Twitter that that her performance exceeded most people's expectations what I've been hearing from my sources in the last two weeks is listen we don't know her we don't know if she can run a business we know how she can lead she had a commanding performance last night I can tell you my sources were not taking my calls today how about you well look I think you've got you know 20% who are just totally in the tank for Donald Trump no matter what he says or does whether that's for their own political aspirations for their wallet even though they're already plenty Rich already they don't need another tax cut or even the extension of the Trump tax cuts okay so that's 20% of Wall Street if you're super super Rich the one thing you don't have under your Christmas tree is power and Donald Trump will give that to you this Christmas oh next please uh you know and then but 80% of Wall Street the rank and file are Democrats so I think they were really excited and happy about her performance last night I agree with you bill because I'm hearing some of the same thing the one thing I will say though there was always these the fence cers I would say there's there's is the middle ground and on Wall Street I don't think there's any fence anymore well they didn't like Biden and they didn't like Biden because look let's be honest his administration has been very anti- business the FTC under Lena Khan the SEC under Gary Gensler the he's very Pro labor he's proud of it that is anti- business so they didn't like Biden and I think that was pushing them even though they were holding their nose towards Trump Harris has a record in Northern California very CL he's anti business having no regulation he's anti- big business having no rules he's anti uh just absolute gluttony but he's not anti- business look what the economy's done for the last four years the last compared to the last two democratic presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton I would say his record on business is much tougher on business than either of those two Dem Barack Obama you know was very tough on business Wall Street did not like Barack Obama the economy our economy is one of the strongest in the world coming out of covid and the stock market which I know lots of people on Wall Street really like okay is at an all-time high and it continues to gain strength even in the face of rising interest rates which I have to say frankly it was about time that interest rates have been risen because they were held artificially low for 13 years by quantitative easing and thank goodness they're allowed to be more yes everybody was just going to that punch bowl and had the greatest safety net it the big RIS and I just I know we don't have any time but guess what it doesn't have to be labor or business you want labor to work with business that's what creates a fantastic economy
