hello guys uh in this video I would like to explain that how we can download earthquake data uh Artic data is a natural Hazard which occur mostly in you know some some specific region of the world like you know in the in the in the H the Kush region which is in the north of Pakistan and Afghanistan Tajikistan and some other countries this region is famous for uh earthquakes and uh with some high magnitude and some areas in the specific region as well and maybe the other region of the part as well so in this video I would like to explain in detail that how you can download uh earthquake data and then of course you can analyze the data for your thesis your research paper or any other exploration and we will we will download the data from uh United States Geological Survey and USGS and so let's let's move that how we can download earthquake data okay so you can just Google AR data USGS and then you can just open this in that in the other link another two uh another link and then you can see that uh search earthquake earthquake catalog you will see this and this is a course from us G's uh website and you can see here that there are some options uh basic options magnitude so the magnitude of the earthquake and by Def part it is 2.5 plus and 4.5 plus and you can customize this as well so let's customize this first yeah I like to do this and then I want to mention uh the earthquake which let do not need this and I want to do like higher than five that's this is just I'm just choosing this option you can choose 2 three 4 five six whatever you want this depend on the objective what is your objective what is the objective of your study and this is now our date and time so you can customize this as well uh P seven days plus 30 days and customize so I would like to customize this and I would like this is 24 at 29 so this is okay for me and I would like to change this and I would like to change this to 2020 20 2,000 not okay so this is like this 2,000 so this me uh okay now this is the opposite so this is one 2000 and this should be from the beginning [Music] one one so from January 1st 2 to 9524 so this mean that I'm just looking for thata which has a magnitude of five and so on so you can just right here uh I can enage this until 10 there is no of course this is very high magnitude but I'm just mentioning this so this will have my data will have the earthquake with the magnitude of five and 10 from 5 to 10 and dat and time for dat and time you will see that uh my data this this data this earthquake will uh will be downloaded the earthquake of this magnitude you know the magnitude from 5 to 10 will be downloaded from 2000 from the beginning of 2000 to the 9th May 5th of September 2024 mean today and you can customize this is geographical location now the third option and the world so this is globally I'm not interested interested in globally but if you are interested in globally just click on the button below this and you will see but I'm not interested in glob right now I can customize this you can continuous um uh Cent mun use but I'm I'm interested in this option actually so when you click on this option you will see this uh windows will will open and you can see that there is an option rectangle you can draw rectangle on any region and then you can you can maximize from here zoom in from here to see a specific region to make it larger and you can zoom out here and this will make smaller and smaller and smaller so you don't need to do this if you want to focus on a specific Reon you need to make it like this maximize like this and then you can use the arrows key to Center on the point where you want to yes Arrow key like this and now you can you can make it further larger like this this so I just want to focus on the Hindu I don't want to make like this this so I want to focus on this region actually some region of Afghanistan and very extreme north of Pakistan and some part of China like this but not maybe China I will just focus on this region that this is very important in the the out so I just need to this is you know is already selected so you can draw a rectangle like this and then okay and there is some problem I don't know oh there there is no problem this is okay so I'm just interested in like this so this is some some some of the region you can extend this you just click here this is okay you can extend this like this now and which direction you want to move particular I would like to go this and I go this and this so this is something my region and you can Define your region by yourself you can change this is no problem so it's not important uh you choose some specific region you cannot change you can change it you can just then move the box here over there and you can like decrease from here increase from other side increase from here or increase from here and so on you can do you can you can can there is no problem and then you click on this use this region so now you have completed all these uh basic options magnitude the option has been given date and time so this is the duration from which for which I will download the data and this is geographic origin uh this is this is I selected a rectangle and these are the latitude longitudes so this is been completed and now you can search you will see here this is open now and just minimize this want to see it more clearly this is the region okay so there are some option this is the magnitude and this is now if you want can click here and order first if you want to arrange this like old first you can just click like this and if you want to click on any point here you will see about you will see some information about that that this is magnitude 6 and 30 30 km this so This Is The Place in Tajikistan and you can see some some you know some introduction or some basic information about uh the earthquake the time date location and then the depth as well so you can click this is this is look like more you know the the the the width or the size of the Square show the the magnitude of the earthquake so this is also bigger like this six and you can see you can see the place uh the name of the place the country the L longitude the time and the depth let me check a smaller one you can see this is 5 because this look like smaller and in Afghanistan and the LIF is 50 3.8 and you can this is in Pakistan oh this is not in Pakistan should be the M look like in Pakistan but I don't know it has been show but it's okay it's fine so okay so this is close this and you can go down and you can download this data there is an option download so there are some various option of the files so you can choose any of these files which you can handle easily I will prepare CSV let's download it so yeah let's can go click and show in the folder and you will see query so this is the query so you can click on this and you will see the detail of this so you can see a lot of information about this is time the occurrence of the earthquake latitude longitude depth and depth and magnitude this is the magnitude is the most important parameter you want to know and these are something other things you can explore these things because there are many things in this file and then you can analyze as you want for which purpose you are doing this so are detailed information and you can see uh how much events look like on the website then you can confirm this because this downloaded so you can see the number of events are here 285 earthquakes are there which are from 5 to 10 magnitude in the 23 years 285 and you can confirm from here yeah these are 286 mean the First Column is far label so 285 EV are here downloaded that's your data very simple no difficulty no problem very very easy uh let me do this some some mod application further okay yeah this is again we are here okay so now let's do something like this if you want to change it and you want to do some specific uh the the the earthquake between some specific like this 4 to six magnitude and the duration you can change but my duration is still similar and my rectangle is also similar but you can choose the area this you can do you can do like this again the same thing this will give you some events in between these two magnitude this is calculating earthquakes loading yeah this is 5,200 70 earthquakes a lot of earthquakes because the magnitude is now reduced uh from five to I forgot it was four yes four and the maximum was six minimum was four and maximum was six so this R there is a lot of orake in this region okay so this is two 5,2 270 you can see now yeah you can see you can look at this this is in Pakistan G get Pakistan and this some information is given so you can choose you can see the information like this and this is not again the download just click on this and you can choose the file option which you can handle as it just look on this as I prer this and you will see yeah this file is heavier so it will take little time because uh there's a lot lot of information in the file and this file has 5,270 rqu events now look at this again open this so this is query one this is the new file you know this one so again the same interpretation and you can explore the further parameters and if you need and you can this in your analysis now we can confirm that this is 500 5,27 70 events the first row is for label so there are 5,270 earthquakes events in this region so you can download the data pario analysis very easily so handy and easily you need to create any accounts or something like that you can calculate longterm data and until the today latest data for your analysis so thank you very much and see you in the next video
