[Music] [Applause] [Music] now my Grandma happy finally got my [ __ ] together told bro we'll take the time and we just STI together every time BR catch a be we do that [ __ ] together I know he got two phones but I still sent the letter cuz I know how they feel don't compare me to no other rap I feel like my [ __ ] real FR and Bs and [ __ ] [ __ ] hoes before I got a deal it's love for show but you didn't broke the code I don't know how feeling I ain't told nobody no for real since I got a meal I'm TI in another bloody something in that then lost five friends mama told me that water was cold I still had dived in never let a [ __ ] take me out this beef we Dy in D lost his mind I pray to God to help him find it I was in a dark spot but I came back and I broke the N REM missing my country boy for a now [ __ ] run the charge I don't need your coming off this the [ __ ] that I live for leig me my my County County Bears uh Highway 96 Warner Robins Georgia um tell me uh what houseon county means to you man I know you've been dealing with them this would be fourth year now maybe even more um tell me what house County means to you I mean it means a lot of me just growing up there the majority of my life moved uh up here from mon County and my my kindergarten year right so I mean just moving up here making friends uh meet new people seeing new things being around a different environment just school schoolwise I feel like the education was better for me to just provide and just take What U God gave me a get house and County so making County how you think those guys feel about that man they still supporting you yeah everybody still supporting me from down there they still all ask about me down there I mean of course they want me to come back but right right right I mean that's still a whole town right right right do you do you visit much or oh yeah I'm going definitely visit um I used to visit I visit my grand parents down there yeah um we still go down there for football games they see what they look like down there and everything like that so it's still a lot of love so you actually go to a game oh yeah most definitely I feel like since we have a um I was telling since we have a uh prolific quarterback here okay well let's step back a little bit you know I I just have to get this opportunity you know what I'm saying they kind of uh pick your brain a little bit or show some of your skills because you fil and I saw a lot of pocket passing I saw where uh some check Downs I saw where uh you was able to to read the defense quickly I want you to think about a a situation where um you was in the game uh you saw the defense as it was and you knew right off the bat I got these guys right tell me route that your receiver was running and also what the defense is giving you okay so I'll give you this scenario of Perry game um one of my touchdowns that went of my my best receiver on the team last year Ricky uh so down in the goal line they they blitzing they bringing everyone they blitzing like seven and we only got like six to block so coach called a RPL which is a run pass option I got the option to give the ball to the running back he can run it or I can pull and throw the slap behind him so I seen my re was down my re was the safety so they had him in the box so Rick e just ran a glance route five step slant basically just a deeper slant right right he ran it right behind him saw threw a DOT I saw he scored on that that's the number one guy yeah so when when you say block they was in they had him in the Box what are you what are you saying the Box means like where the linebackers are like just just a little closer in than a regular safety dep is so about like from the ball probably like yeah okay it was no safety help oh or if it was safety help he was all the way on the other side of the field so I really had I knew my guy Ricky win one onone so just uh put the game in his hands and I got the ball to him he scored so let me ask you this um do you guys commun do you do you look over some kind of way a tap tap how's that go down like Rick when Ricky know he's getting the ball uh I mean just the play that you're running or uh just building that chemistry all summer and just knowing what each other sees and what each other likes for real really um he sees what I see all my receivers do this year we got a couple signals that I can get to the receivers coach Edward's giving me a bunch of leeway this year since my senior year he's trying to prepare me for that college level so I mean really just building that chemistry over the summer and spring just really uh got had a connection wow wow so I want you to actually go through [Applause] that uh running back was on this side okay um then so boom I see the safety down get up to the line looking around we got two receivers out here Ricky right here by himself on the left hash so the left hash really just left side of the field right EXA so boom I see um I see Marie coming down right then that's safety over there because he got to help the two receivers over there guard them got so uh me and Ricky just look at each other before the play and I'm I'm like yeah this he going to get this ball right right so you so you did look at Ricky I mean I I look at him but like I'm not trying to give the play away at so you just glance right real quick you know like sure like he he see what I see yeah yeah yeah okay so then um clap um to let the center know I'm ready for the ball and then he snapping so then I do this I'm I'm keeping my eyes on my at the same time so this a running back coming you pull it yeah I got to keep my eyes on my re because if he just stayed back there I would have handed the ball off but he came down like coach said so handing it off right here I do a deep ride so I can make sure he come down think the running back out the b so deep went pop back up throw it right behind himick Ricky do the rest he took off oh yeah he running he got speed got speed man that's awesome man let's go over here man um so once again outside the line podcast is B um the opportunity to see the personal side of the athlete so we want to see see what the drip like we want to see what the parents like we want to just see who AJ is you know what I'm saying now keep in mind we will talk about football because you know we love some football in the south [Music] let going to the um outside the line podcast we're going to check out the uh previous guest uh on the podcast so you come over here see what [Music] we see if anybody on there you known [Music] Jordan kg okay oh you know this guy oh yeah right here right here okay okay and I know kayin yeah yeah uh I think that's it that's it man we call this the the H the wall of fame uh even our previous times we had all our athletes on the wall okay so um our goal is to put everybody back on that wall so so when everybody walk in they see the wall of fame there gonna be some legendary people on here man it's awesome let's go into the [Music] podcast you still mentoring the the kids okay where is that located uh it be at like schools like do elementary for do primary whever tell us to go okay then sometimes I'll go back to make County and read okay that's what's up all right all right all right welcome to outside the line podcast this is Lee Hughes with TNG Sports and Fitness and we uh super excited today we have houseing County's own Antoine Hill Jr here and we had to walk in on a little little baby here uh music and um so right off real quick man I just want to know I I was listening to U this particular song and it said mama told me that the water would be cold but I still had to dive in so I mean before we introduce you and everything I just I got to get that off my hip real quick uh when he said that I feel I really feel like when he said uh mama told him the water with Co has that it means like he's taking risk still like even though his mom's like said like really just he he know what he was getting himself into whenever certain stuff was going on and just really just he taking that risk and uh bigger the risk bigger the reward so he really just took that risk and look look where he at now so how do you apply to yourself you you're basically saying he did this he did that and that's what you're saying to yourself U that do do you see your mom actually saying hey don't do that don't don't do this and then you kind of take those chances or I mean most of the time when she tell me not to do something of course I'm but uh still like I mean if I feel like it's going to better me um at the end of the day I'mma do it yeah I'm G feel what's best like that uh benefit me in the long run then just uh really just keep steady bu um progression progressing every time I do it so I feel like excellent excellent excellent so um just want to give everyone a quick snapshot uh Mr Antoine here um uh first of all he has he has 30 offers on the table over half of those offers probably 75% of offers of D1 offers um he's a 65 215 pound quarterback for House High School um now check this out real quick I'm G jump a little bit in the eighth grade he had an offer from ug so Kirby Smart came down and actually had a conversation with a eighth grader here that's very uh uncommon around these parts so uh that's super exciting we need to talk to but also he has a 3.5 GPA he also been on the Max Prep um allamerican he's AJC All State team he's also three-time first team uh region team uh he started all four this will be his fourth year he's going into his senior year um uh AJ Antoine Hill has been amazing over the years welcome to outside of line podcast thank you for having yeah introduce yourself I know I did all that yeah my name Antoine Hill Jr uh I'm an upcoming senior at hon County High School I play quarterback and I'm committed to the University of Memphis awesome awesome awesome so we're just gonna D Dive Right on in man um going back to Kirby Smart coming down uh first of all congratulations uh committing to uh Memphis Kirby Smart uh SEC came through and said hey I want this guy early you know so he he came and whispered something in your ear early tell me how was that man uh uh how did you feel and tell me the that doesn't happen often how do you feel about this happening to you and maybe not many other um quarterbacks out there now maybe some others uh that we don't know about but not many is gonna have uh Kirby Smart himself come and talk to a eighth grader we're not talking about a 10th 11th or 12th grader we're talking about eighth grader how did that feel for you uh actually I was in seventh grade you was in seventh grade seventh grade spring I got offer um at a spring practice he just s me was at my Uncle spring practice Trey since he played for Georgia we was at a spring practice um came to the sideline then he just started talking to me then he was like I'mma call you later on then he called my pops because I of course I ain't have his number he called my pops he told my Pops to get get a phone of me and then he just said it like I want offer you first scholarship to the University of Georgia like first I thought it wasn't real like I'm thinking he joking cuz he he like to joke a lot right but he he said he was D Ser I was like wow this the start of it that's the start of it and so how has that communication being with Kirby uh since then from did he was he committed to uh seeing you or listening to you or hearing from you each year how did that go moving forward um it's just really a family thing he just kept it in the family I mean we we really ain't communicated as much but every time I seen him you know we talk we chatted up um at a seven on seven camp at a regular Camp anything I mean when he comes down to the school on his helicopter and stuff going to coach ala will speak okay so I mean really just good stuff yeah yeah good man excellent excellent excellent man um so this would be your fourth year actually starting as the quarterback the starting quarterback for houseon County um knowing that you're a senior is there any pressure um and I know recruiting uh was a lot of pressure uh you was you you know you probably flying out from from state to state trying to see these different schools but you still have uh a task on hand which is house and county you need to make sure house and County leave there correctly uh most of us want to leave with a state championship I'm sure tell me what kind of pressure if there's pressure uh for a quarterback of your caliber in the houseing county uh most definitely it's it's a lot of pressure because I mean everybody expecting you to um put on every Friday night for them in their school so really just put up those big and just come out with a d at the end of the day that's what's up man that's what's up we I think previous we were talking about the Perry game I think you had some big numbers then you remember the numbers on that um I know uh 10th grade year period game I had like five five touchdowns for like 45 410 passing yards something like that then I know uh this past year I had five touchdowns for 363 passing yards that's big time that big time so I at one of your videos and the video in that video I think it was when you was making on your own not sure but um you mentioned that hey we got Perry tonight let's go get these guys and so I love the fact that you're you're you know you're a day out or your two days out from actual game time and your your your game planning on who we need to stop and and uh and I remember you saying the Cory name so that lets us know uh how far that that was last year that you was thinking about the Cory at number 12 um and you went out there and executed uh just like you thought you would um do you do you see Perry as your rivalry now or how's that oh yeah most defitely I as our rival so when is that game this year uh that's our third game of the season it's on the calendar huh September 3rd or something like that yeah third game of the season so any predictions uh that period game um I feel like it'll be a good game again but I mean we had them last year beat like in the first half we just came out slow that second half so we just came uh we got to start start how we did last year and just finish come out and finish like how we did excellent excellent did y'all lose any any big time weapons oh yeah most defin I lost all my receivers I lost Ricky the Mississippi State commit lost Kell he got hurt during the per game number 11 here at Cincinnati lost number eight here at Georgia State so I lost I lost some we lost some big time guys for sure but I mean I feel like these young guys this year going to step and take um taking that big leadership role excellent excellent that's awesome man that's awesome and so um how how important is is is uh leadership and uh teammates R to you because you know uh like I said a guy in your position not just being the quarterback but uh being one of the top quarterbacks in the nation uh that's that's being looked at as being the next guy you know um not just for college but moving forward into the NFL like they have big things going for you you know how how easy or is it tough being a leader um and I know that doesn't sound good for you but um because I feel I feel leadership right here um tell me how is it to be a leader at houseing County house I mean of course it's tough because I mean everybody depending on you to make the play at the end of the day make the throw make make the run anything so I mean everybody depending on me to um come in with high energy in the mornings when nobody don't want to practice and stuff like that so feel like my young guys really just look up to me and really just see me as a leader um that's my big thing this whole this whole off season just trying to be more of a vocal leader because I already know I'm like carrying on into college I mean you playing with grown men that's like 20 you got kids you I'm going be 17 stepping on the uh college campus so me just getting on the uh 20 roads just that early on and really just trying to be that vocal leader in that locker room from just now getting there I mean I feel like I just been working on that I can just carry that on into college wow that's that's big man and you know sometimes we don't think about that you know we have not only you'll be 17 and you'll be playing against grown men with that has families but you also have col you'll have college uh classes to attend so you have work to do um how much um time have you devoted to your work uh your classwork at house and County uh that would prepare you for uh Memphis uh I've been putting in a lot of extra hours and school work I mean taking these college classes while on top I have regular classes at hoko like this year uh this schedule real real easy laidback for me uh this past year was too but still had regular class classes at hoko I had to take on top of that got the college work at home so this year I'll just be going in at 110 that's that's just footb man that's sweet though so I still got college classes to take but those college classes take up for those uh High School class exactly exactly exactly um and so as we know man to be the quarterback that you are it takes a lot of hard work it takes a lot of time and skill work uh so not only uh you have to hit it in the gym you have to hit the books uh the playbooks and you also have to have footwork and like I said I was looking at some videos and um I notice great footwork I notice um presence in the pocket um tell me this uh escaping the pocket how how come are you with escaping the pocket I'm almost definitely comfortable I mean if I feel like I can uh sit in the pocket and deliver a throw just move my feet uh sideways up in and out u i mean I feel like I'll stay in the pocket but really just been working on that escaping uh the pocket really what you said so cuz I mean everybody think I can't run for real but I really can if I need to I just like to stay in the pocket more CU like most of the time you you ain't got to move all you got to do all that extra movement and stuff feel like that's just wasted movement you just burning extra energy if you're doing that like I could just make one sudden move and still deliver the ball I I like that I like that I mean the goal is to get the ball to your Playmakers you know uh you sit in the pocket throw your slant and there he goes he he's in the house um tell me mentally man mentally I know physically you know we hit the gym we we get our footwork in tell me what kind of mental um preparation you do for each game and and and moving forward into college how are you uh taking care of the mental side of that uh just really studying my opponents and uh my teammates and really just trying to make sure U game week and just really off weeks game weeks anything just really trying to make sure my mind sharp on just the next opponent and really just know um I see what I see um what I'mma get on Friday night blitzes uh coverages man coverages on all that so really just trying to sharpen my mind every Friday night against my opponent just to see every small thing I could find about them w so it can make my job easy on Friday I like that I like that knowing that this um this podcast is outside the lines right tell me how you take care of Antoine AJ mentally outside of football what do you do to make sure you're sane and ready to tackle the world the next day uh really just outside of football just chilling with my family um f like just going taking care of my body just getting rest going to treatment stuff like that um really just chilling my family telling my teammates I mean just go to someone house start playing a game and really just building that team chemistry since we lost a lot last year trying to build that chemistry with a young guy right right right how how you doing the Madden yeah I'm doing good in the M you said pick up the game I had to see if you were good I had picked up a m in 10 years I be like where's the butt um so you know once again um I noticed that uh you mentioned family man tell me about tell me about your family man I know uh from what I can see uh you are a family guy I love that uh not you know the fact that you can gav as a team uh but also uh you and your family are like you know a unit so tell me about your family and how many uh siblings you have I got one sibling uh just me and my sister okay uh she 24 she f um try to go to she going to go to Memphis with me up there and just um get her ree in like physical therapist or something like that um really just trying to she working right now the office right now Georgia oric so really just trying to get her get her stuff going so she can do what she want to do at the end of the day um Mom and Dad I mean good people I mean really just Role Models I look up to every day especially my mom and just see how strong she is from losing like both of her parents at a young age so really just seeing every day how she go go to work every day and just keeping some mod on her face really just motivate me wow wow wow so um as as far as as far as Football let's take it back a little bit again uh you know maybe maybe six seven eight year old were you playing football at a six year old I started playing any other sports I mean you're 65 man no basketball oh yeah most definitely football and basketball were the two sports I played okay okay okay who instilled that in you who who got you really got you into football was my D my pops most definitely my PO okay okay that's what's up man and so uh as a young kid you know do you have you dominated the game pretty much the entire time or was there a moment in life or in time where you said hey I got it now uh was it aha moment where man I can really play this this position here I don't have to go play basketball anymore I can I can be the QB I really wanted to be um seventh grade like I really just started figuring out I was like yeah football gonna really be my thing like because I started I stopped playing basketball seventh grade stopped playing baskball stopped playing basketball seventh grade after seventh grade year and going into my eighth grade year cuz U I want to make sure I had that starting position as a ninth grader um in high school so I didn't want to get hurt risk getting injured and stuff like that so really that seventh grade year going into eighth grade I really knew that quarterback was my position that was GNA be it wow you know that I mean that's still kind of young uh for for a kid to know you know I want to be the um not only uh quarterback but the starting quarterback and I need to start right now and so that tells me you put yourself around great people that um continue to push you and put you in the right position um tell me about like maybe a mentor or something like that someone that that actually got have gotten you to certain positions where uh not saying no one else could have but he's really been um inspiration or female uh is there any particular person other than your parents uh um I mean really just I mean my uncle for sure I mean really just seeing Trey okay so he playing for Bengal still okay so really just seeing going through the process made my process a little more easier uh with recruitment just just knowing what coming in just knowing what I should look out for things I look out for and stuff like that so just going through his process meeting new coaches Mee new seeing new faces and stuff like that building relationships then when I wasn't even thought about getting recruited so now it really made things easier with my recruitment process gotta gotcha um grandparents um tell me about your grandparents man um my granddad on my dad both of them still alive on my dad's side but my mom's side okay okay okay I know uh sometimes uh grandparents and I was thinking about um you know when I talk about parents I talk about Grandparents I think about my mom and my mom passed back in October um so definitely have to give a shout out out to the grandparents and and the parents so I make sure we talk about them for sure um a couple other questions here um you know uh I saw a shirt that you had on um it said mindset you know uh are you talking about yourself or you talking about the game what are you talking about the entire entirety of what you're doing or who who you trying to be when you say mindset uh my mindset just doing in the Friday night I mean just do whatever I can do to uh win win a football game for my for me and my team I mean even if that's that means the score being three- Z I mean we still won we still got things to work on then we worried about the next opponent that next week so my mindset just reach trying to have that Pro mindset right like I'm in the NFL just trying to prepare like I'm in the league and everything like that so it can translate to when I really get to the league that's what's up so that's the ultimate plan let's get to the Le any particular team uh I mean my favorite team is Seahawks but wherever wherever they need how did that happen I really don't a lot of people ask me that cuz they don't see no like dude from Georgia watching Seattle I mean it just me being a young kid just seeing Russell Wilson Mar lynchy rice D balln all all them good um good receivers running back quarterback right so I mean just watching them a lot when they were on that Super Bowl in they had to package yeah they they had allam they had that extra man oh yeah it was lit any Idols um uh in in NFL or or any other sports or any uh anywhere around that you kind of look up to and you kind of kind of mimic your game uh uh too I feel like I can mimic my game after Cam Newton a little bit but uh role model that I'm looking at in NFL really CJ stra really just how he carried himself all around as allaround play player and in person really just that laidback CI CI Vibe really just being laid back at the quarterback position just seeing how he did his rookie season coming in coming off that um that Ohio State and Georgia game before he go to the natti I mean I felt bad I know he really wanted it and just seeing him bounce back from that winning off Rookie of the Year and stuff like that I mean that really just open my eyes and be like I can do that too right right right have you ever met cam oh yeah most definitely I played on his team and everything before okay that's the uh seven on S okay okay you doing the uh is it huncho huno elite huno elite too okay we'll get into that a little bit later man that's what's up um still trying to get out of house and County still trying to wig our way before we jump into Memphis a little bit and some you recruiting uh tell me about um your GPA tell me about the the teachers and um at housing County in the students other than the football players how has housing kind of been uh instrumental for you uh my four years I mean well going in my fourth year I mean house count just been great all my teachers I mean they love me I love them so I mean just building a relationship with the teachers just even outside of just talking about strictly just academics like I can come to some some of my teachers and just talk to them about life in general so really just them showing they they their support for us and the football team and just really just showing their Endless Love For Us and just doing anything they can to help us succeed at the end Day means a lot wow wow so um we will go ahead and get into um you know recruiting um I mean you had I mean you had Georgia Tennessee uh Florida uh Ohio uh I mean you had you know 10 or 20 other D1 offers um and I think it came down to Florida that um uh Florida and Memphis uh tell me about Florida and and why you chose Memphis over Florida uh Florida I mean coach nap and Coach O'Hara they did a good job recruiting me but I feel like Memphis just got a edge over there when I went there and just got to experience Memphis I've been in Florida a lot I don't I can't even count how many times I've been in Florida but when I went to Memphis there something different about that program just them being underrated and On The Rise now that they got that 12 man playoffs and just seeing them in the pre-season rankings just everybody they win if they win they conference they in there they there so I mean really just seeing that I want to go change the program Florida already kind of sort of made already I feel like me just going to Memphis just changed the whole thing I made history from Comm in there I feel like I can make more more history and just building that team just had that team success going up I mean man this is totally a game changer yeah I mean you you you changed the entire history of Memphis you know you actually put Memphis on your back you know they going they going to expect some big things and from what I see man you'll definitely deliver um tell me about um your coach at Memphis U Ryan silverfield uh tell me what kind of um relationship you have uh me and Coach most definitely got the type B I mean really I can come to him and talk to him about anything uh we talk every day on the phone or through text if he doing something he making sure I'm straight I'm making sure he's straight so I mean really just having that that coach to player Bond I mean coming to him about anything coming to him about um just my game plans what we looking at this week what we got going on just trying to trying to get some pointers and tips and just seeing how he doing up there with the team and stuff how the team looking oh wow wow how's how's the culture up there man how's the culture in the city have you were you able to hang out in the city of Memphis man oh yeah I did I mean they got everybody just got a bad image of Memphis because don't get me wrong I I mean stuff go on out there for sure but I mean that a that ain't the whole Memphis I mean see in the city Bill Street you got out there you got a basro pyramid you right there on the um right there by the bask right there is the uh the River Mississippi River you got Arkansas right across the bridge you got Mississippi right across the bridge so I mean it's a lot of sightseeing and just good stuff you can get out of Memphis that's what's up man that's what's up um so you know let's get a little elephant out the room a little bit um Colorado um you know big big name Deion Sanders said hey you know you're my next guy um and I was thinking like he had his son you know qbn and stuff like that and you would probably come another a year later and for me you know I was always thinking like okay he's got a s a year we already know that and um a guy coming out of your caliber should you have to sit a year um so but being in that program it could have actually propelled uh you to to see a lot of social uh media for sure and a lot of exposure uh tell me what did it for you uh to decommit from Colorado um Me deom In from Colorado I mean I feel like they just had too much going on at the time I mean I didn't know who was calling the plays I I wasn't getting like communicating with on certain stuff most of the time I was going to leave early I was actually supposed to be in college like right now I was going to be 16 in college so I was going to reclass up to the uh class of 2024 and graduate with those guys and be in Colorado right now um cuz I knew like I mean I was going in there to take sedor position but come on we all we all know like he he got the starting job so really I was just gonna go behind him just to learn and just get a um a year of college football so I can learn the speed of the game and stuff like that but I mean I I was doing the classes and everything to try to leave early like I would have been done with High School La in February wow so really just trying to do all that stuff and it was just a lot on me as as a young kid I could I had no time for nothing so you stepped out of there too early with that okay how was Dion man did he treat you nice or were you able communicate with him um most definitely that Colorado visit was fun I me we had fun and everything I mean Colorado it wasn't what I expect I felt like Colorado was gonna be born not as the program but just the city and general but they got a lot of stuff to do out there in Colorado I mean coach finding them they still good people to me today I mean really just um really just I mean hope they do good and um this this upcoming um this upcoming season I mean really no no no hard feels but I mean it just wasn't the right place yeah I think you I think you made the right decision man with Memphis um and so um you know family you know uh has a lot you should allow family to participate in all these recruiting and stuff like that tell me about your mom and dad um really stepping in and saying hey this is what we probably need to do or did they allow you to just kind of make your own decision I mean of course they made me they allow me to make my own decision because at the end of the day it's like my decision I'm living it this my life for the next three or four years so I mean really just we talked about it like a couple couple months like two months after and we was like this a lot on me like I was like man like this work that's that mental stuff I was talking about yeah like you you a't have no time to really just waste like it's strictly football come home from school uh get straight on the uh the work the college work so I can get all those credits out the way so I mean it was lot it was tough like I ain't going to sleep to like 2 three and I gotta get right back up at six wow it it was just a lot so tell me this man back to Memphis um have you were are you able to get the Playbook anytime soon or have you gotten anything like that or you talked to any quarterback coaches or anything like that oh yeah most definitely me and Coach KY T talked to u a couple days couple days ago I mean we talk almost every so when I was there I me he was teaching me to Playbook a little bit just um then I was watching my first visit when I went up there was unofficial right so I mean I watched this uh spring practice scrimmages and stuff like that so I just got a little taste of the offense I mean I like what I see out the offense very balanced very uh Pro style and it's I mean they run that same thing in same stuff in the NFL checks everything so I mean I feel like coachi really got Al grow and you got some nice uh receivers uh coming too man in 2025 oh yeah some big time three and fourar guys coming through so he's he's loading you up you know and see that's what you want man you want you want to go somewhere where they're preparing for your success not just for you to be there so I like that good job man congratulations thank you um so you know remember we're outside the line so we're gonna drop it back a little bit more I was watching one of your um videos and um you know it said you like Skittles yeah so I had to go get you some Skittles right and um is that something that you just you just snack on Skittles or is it a ritual prior to the game what's what's the deal with the Skittles man or you just saying you just like Skittles I just like Skittles I mean my favorite one of purple one but the red one's my second favorite I got you but uh I mean I this year I I realized like we be having Skittles on the sideline minute line so hold so they had Skittles out there the whole time yeah I didn't even know until like the third game when we play um think we was playing West Lawrence not going to sine I see a big b bag Skittles I dug my hand in there real quick and just grabb me a couple before I went back on the field like old L get we they get treated real good I mean those are my guys they got it they gota get they gotta get it man that's that's what's up man so are there any um like regimens you do like where the same socks shoes or you have to have your hair a certain way before you go to the game or you just kind of how do you do that man uh talk like wake up that morning you say it's Friday morning tell me how How does it go from Friday morning all the way you got school and everything all right so this past year I was U so we got devotion on Friday 7:15 everybody being in we eat breakfast um get the word of course and then really just from there I'll go back home on Friday because I ain't got no classes like this past year I ain't have to be to school till like 10:30 right so I go back home come back up there at 10:30 then I got three classes I had my uh my chemistry class math class and then my lit class right so then after all that go to the gym we'll get our um offense to start getting their um they cloth and stuff they game their cloth and stuff like that then defense will be lifting then we switch we'll lift stuff like that then we get the meetings and stuff meetings and walk through then 3:30 around rolls around like pregame then um after pregame go back to meetings I'll be with the offic L and then okay then after that um we'll just be chilling for a little bit we got a little chill time then like uh like around like 5:45 we getting dressed in the locker room get our mind right and stuff like that then 6 o'clock we probably on our way to the St and get warmed up so I mean a lot of go a lot of it um it's a lot going on in game days but I mean it be the funnest right right like a game dayy Perry game North Side game like right okay what's up man do you feel like um the coach um your coach um now uh so you had the same coach the entire time that freshman year uh you had a different coach and then he came in your new coach is 10th 11 grade do you feel like there's a different system U that you had to learn or uh better or worse or how's that for you um the system I feel like that I'm running now most definitely preparing me better for college I mean just seeing more things seeing fronts better seeing everything the whole all the 11 guys on the other side of the B I mean reading defense and reading fronts I mean I know how to do none of that stuff grade year so really just coach Edward's coming in bringing that um that offense to me and just so I can see everything because it was a big turnaround from freshman year to sophomore year as you see you can see it in the stats and like wow right because if I had that freshman year I feel like I would have been proba I I'll be the number one player you be number one the nation right now so because of that that sophomore year had like what two uh was it 2000 this year or last year I had this year I had 2,000 200000 okay but that that 10th grade year 3663 yard wow like so you got a total of what 7,000 right now and you had hit your single year yet no like that like I would have way more yards too like last year I would have probably had 4500 my 10 grade year like that's just from me like being in the game like 10 grade year you can see the game now the game slowed down for you oh yeah most definitely from ninth grade to now most definitely it slowed down but I'm just saying like playing time wise like if we blowing someone out he gonna pull me out of there quit like in the ninth grade no 10th grade I know we was playing loc second it's second quarter with like seven minutes left 68 Zer oh my well you had to come out I'm out the game you had to come out I mean iown I'm 10 for 10 00 yard come on man out of there you had to come out of there just like just see if I just say if I stayed in there that's like at least 700 yard but see that's a stat too if you think about it if we really think about it coming out of the game early because of the domination that you display is the actual stat you know a lot of coaches look at that you know they pull the starters in the second half uh because of this situation the score was 68 zero you know you already got five touchdowns you know it's time to get out of there and also say those legs say those arm you know not get injured you know you never know what happens the third quarter fourth quarter halftime coaches get together and say hey we need to stop AJ you know how can we need to stop him and they'll do anything to stop you and so by your coach taking you out in the second quarter saves a lot of that you don't have to worry about injuries and things like that now you can go to Memphis and actually execute it's good stuff man that's good stuff um so we talk we we touched a little bit on uh spiritual say you was getting up at 7 going to devotion and stuff like that um tell me um about your spirituality how uh who inspired you or where all that come from I mean I know as as a young kid I mean I used to always go to church with my Grandma and Granddad always in bacon County so really just going to church with them I mean I haven't been to church in a minute okay but I mean really just still believing in God still getting the word every day still praying every day I mean so just just just trying to keep that Spirit going and just trying to just them U providing it at hoko every game day every morning and in afternoon before the games I mean I mean I love it man so I actually checked out his uh Tik Tok and he had a lot of spiritual stuff on his Tik to so um you know me as a coach uh looking in and saying okay who is this guy you know I know I have a spiritual guy I have a hard working guy I have a 65 guy that's GNA make some nice plays he's not taking over uh any anybody else the running back's position by trying to run all over the place so if you look at it you know we got a hard-nosed guy that knows the Playbook I mean we got the guy that we need you know what I'm saying so he can actually be a leader uh out there for us um you know you know once you get to um once you get to Memphis you know the hype will be there uh tell me tell me how how is it are you are you finally coming down a little bit um from since the recruiting has stopped it's getting an opportunity to rest but kind of looking back and saying man that was a great learning experience but more confident in like like who you are as a person now did that did that do anything for you just that that D that that that drooling uh moment you had to go through for was recruiting everybody pulling at you want to talk to you you know outside the line podcast calling saying hey can I get you on you know I know I'm not the only one that's several people want to talk to you so once again thank you for that um how are you now considering you going through all that stuff most definitely good I mean a lot of stress and pressure off my back I mean really uh choosing between those two schools I mean it was a lot of pressure because I mean I'm trying to figure out every small thing me and my family be trying to figure out everything we can so I can make the right decision this time and just not uh regret my decision so I mean really just taking that time going to both places a couple more times than U I should have but I mean really just seeing both places inside out I mean seeing seeing it from an academic standpoint of course football seeing it from a medical standpoint stand for everything really just where I want to stay everything I'm looking we trying to look at everything we possibly can so really just um I enjoyed my um recruitment process it was a lot of fun going to different schools seeing different things meeting new coaches meeting legendary coaches like coach saving coach SM yeah of course Dion coach Prime so me mean a lot of uh familiar faces that did it um coaching played it I mean really meant a lot and now I me went Memphis now you so so let's talk about this man uh you know we're gonna go outside a little bit little bit more but it's also inside lines so we kind of string the lines right now um on your commitment day you know uh you know I I wasn't able to witness this myself it was recorded by the time I got to it but uh you went live with with quo um what's the relationship like with quo man and what made you actually put quo on live or quo with you on live want thank God my family for putting me in the position I'm in today secondly I want to thank all the coaches mentors and trainers I've had through this journey with that being said said for the next three to four years I'll be pursuing my academic and athletic career at University of [Applause] Memphis yeah yes sir you congratulations my boy you know I'm proud Rel I call him but that's really like a big brother than me I mean me and him talk every day we play the game we do everything I mean during spring break this year I went up there stayed at his house for a weekend um training still even though I'm chilling with him I'm still training still uh doing football things and stuff like that in Atlanta so I mean really just him him showing me the way just uh G me another outlet another uh role mod I can I can see uh inside and out I mean really just him giving me the opportunity to meet these new people uh see new things like I mean going to he took me to a Falcons game this past year okay tell about the Falcons I mean they they won against the Texans I mean me being able to go on the field and talk to CJ I was just gonna say you you got an opportunity to see CJ yeah and I got his game Jersey that like I was leaving this house all walking out the house to um go back home truck um he was like hey you you forget something he had the Jersey he threw it to me I was like oh yeah yeah so I mean I got that at the crib frame it's put up so I mean really just him doing that for me a lot just because mean that's one of my favorite quarterbacks in the league right now just him for for him to give me the game Jersey like game War Jersey J beat that yeah wow so you call you call him on so in relationship at there like me I mean how I started I mean of course playing on his seven on seven team and then just just being able to talk to him I mean when I first started how I really started uh texed him on Instagram he he I'm surprised he text me back from all those followers you got that's what's up then Coach Edwards my coach now used to coach him that was his first coach SC so he was a QB he a little Lefty in he oh yeah he was a left-handed quarterback short one okay then um yeah just him um me talking about coach he like for real that was my coach too wow coach when coach Heros first got the h i a believe coach qu he he told us about like no no I'm yeah but then he he said he did then now I mean that relationship just been building for the past couple years I see why you call him on now man yeah you know um honestly man you know qu has done some amazing things and I love the fact that he had the seven on sevenam but he also pulling uh the culture up you know allowing uh people to get on his back and uh kind of ride with it so that's who you want on your team uh we know there some ice out there too now outside the line uh you know uh he got you dressed out looking good so that's good man that that tells us you know outside the line wants to know like what your drip like man what what do you on a daily basis man I know you're busy I know you throwing stuff or no for real like in school like I ain't putting nothing on like I'm going to school sweats slides and Hoodie like I'm I'm going outside in a hoodie and okay like 90° weather like that's how much I really don't care for dressing up in school but I mean when I when I want to like dress I mean of course I can I can I can put little piece together if I want to that's what's up man uh so so the prom uh so you went to the prom okay or you prepared to go to the prom this year um I really don't know I might this year I might go by myself okay so you st someone last year okay everything turned out good with that oh yeah most definitely okay defitely slide or anything like that CA like usually you only stay at prom for like 20 10 minutes like you even you don't even they don't do they do it but I'm saying like now you be worried about like after party and stuff like that you don't just stay at prom like the whole entire time okay so me and m t stuff like that we went to prom for like 20 30 minutes then we left uh went home showered up and just after I put more effort into the the after the after prom clo than the really I mean what I mean come on what did you wear for the prom I had I had uh Jersey Quay gave me uh like before I'm talking about for the prom oh what I wear for proom uh uh I had a black Tu with uh I wore black and pink oh she had you in pink and I had uh some some sparkly shiny uh Lavin on oh he was out there then oh yeah what you whip like what you what you may come on man you had it out there let me using May oh you was out there there man so and and the Afterparty you had the you had the Jersey on wow yeah that's good stuff man I love the fact that you know like I said I'm a dad man but I love the fact to see young men still getting out there enjoying theel uh you you participate in the prom you have some of the biggest rappers out there in the game supporting you um you're driving in the nicest whip still having a good time with your friends that that's totally amazing um uh you're at once you get to Memphis man I you know it keeps uh getting to the back of my head like what day one is going to look like and and I'm I'm wondering for you will it be a media day or will it be a Playbook day or will it be just to get into your place and just kind of chill like what would what would you like for it to be on the first we'll say we'll say the first week I feel like the first week of mej uh trying to get adjusted to the college life trying to get um my time measurement down really just trying to get make sure I know my classes at trying to get there on time and just learning that Playbook like you said that's what's up man that's what's up um we G we gonna go to a uh commercial uh commercial break we'll take a little break here um and uh we'll come right I'm done but then I double back why you dumb you the one and I'm because of that fire always on me I be clutching that no I'm wrong how [ __ ] all my life I had to fight I feel like M sh every other week we had that [ __ ] every other night on P day I'm always play my part give a [ __ ] by no Awards and [ __ ] I still ain't Dr my heart as [ __ ] I'm trying to get on some hardest [ __ ] my mind still in apartments my account say I need to slow it down these close my eyes and think about where I come from when I'm performing I'm On Top every dime I check my balance every morning I'm relaxing with a bad when they [Music] asking back toide line podcast we're here with the great AJ uh Antoine uh Hill Jr straight out of uh houseing County High School he's on the mission this year he also signed uh committed to uh me the Memphis Tigers uh welcome back to uh outside line podcast um so we have a uh a nice little photo here um of Antoine here and as we see he has the number two on there I just want to ask real quick how important it is to have that number two uh Jersey come come next next year or or the year after next 2025 uh really just how that number two started I mean I was always number one growing up cuz I always wanted to be like cam new and so I just had number one then I had an allstar game in sixth grade like I couldn't get number one so I'm trying to get the next lowest number I can get number two so ever since then I just had number two but I looked at it because like Cam Noon was number two in college so it was I got the best of both worlds and I just stuck with two ever since that's what's up man so so not necess moving into Memphis oh yeah most definitely I'm most definitely that too that's what's up man so we have a uh that nice photo we like for you to sign that photo if you don't mind for us you can sign actually both of those if you like good stuff baby ex ex take that from you there man how was the photo shoot for this man or did they just a out this uh that was my commitment edit right there right right so uh I mean the photo shoot most definitely was a lot of fun right right right you've been doing a lot of photo shoots man um but you had to have an amazing time uh taking pictures and videos and stuff like that I know they lay it out for you oh yeah they they open they open the place up play all kinds of music for you but um this this photo here man we like for you to add it to um the wall of fame so if you could walk it over to uh that spot over there open spot for [Music] us good stuff baby good stuff yes's sir this Morey right here say ready now Y no we play Northeast we ready for that Jun I mean a gr all right do what's up [Music] baby so what are your thoughts man on uh what are your thoughts on the wall of fame man what you think about that I mean the W fan I mean just represent uh a bunch of group of uh young men that really just uh the leaders in their program and just um they they'll do anything for their program and just really good leaders that's what's up man I like that I like that man those guys man we look at it like you know 10 years from now we we want to look back and we have you sign it because here but also have a a sharp memory of the moment you was here so I know um we outside the line to follow you from here on so it's not over it's not done um I got a u let show give you my brochure here you open up there let you have that and also I'm give you a bandage you have to put that on for the outside TNG Sports and Fitness uh it's the Next Generation Sports and Fitness um I train here uh also train with Team USA do some uh strength and conditioning uh also boot camps and stuff like that for adults also if you look over to the far left you see best of the best um you got that four years in a row so hopefully uh this year we'll get one for uh 2024 good stuff um we're going to wrap it up man we had an amazing time um I know you got you're busy guy um but what I like for you to do man is is is uh think about I want you to really think about like like your space like where you are okay where your feet are planted and so uh one of my favorite sayings is uh wherever you are be there okay um and so wherever you are be there basically means if if you're drinking water uh make sure you taste that water man make sure you enjoy the water if you're actually playing in a a seven on seven you know uh with the hunchos or quo make sure you're doing that and nothing else you know if you see cam again shake his hand with Integrity you know really look into his eyes and really shake his hand and say thank you uh so if you're in church in school wherever you are make sure you're there if you're if you're in a coaches uh meeting uh Q QB meeting with your coach man let's not think about anything else because really and truly wherever you are uh you need to be there and if you're there um I guarantee you you cannot go wrong 100% of things will go right for you so what I do with um with all my athletes and um my podcast guests I say wherever you are I would like for you to say be there okay I'm say it now wherever you are be there be there good stuff man good stuff um so just want to make sure didn't get out of here before saying that uh but also um I want you to give the youth man some kind of inspiration you know uh talk to the youth talk to to your fans you know tell them what to expect you know how inspired them a little bit just how you feel man what whatever's on your heart um whenever I get to Memphis I mean I just want the Memphis fans I mean just know that I'm young coming in as a 17y old going to be 18 when the season start I mean they just getting everything out of me I mean they're going to get a lot of championships lot of rings a lot of playoff appearances they going to get a hard working young man with a work at it it's it's crazy I mean really just going in work that first day as soon as I step on campus going to work as soon as I step on there then for the Youth I mean really just uh whatever you want to do I mean put your mind to it and just don't let don't let nobody ever just discourage you of your dreams and stuff like that so really just do what you want and if you put your mind to it you can do it wow I love it man so so basically wherever you are be there if you put your mind if you put your mind to it you can do anything you want so one more time for get out of here Wherever You Are [Music] [Music]
