Day 132 - In-and-out of Wrightwood, CA - PCT SOBO 2023

[Music] good morning on day 132 of the PCT we woke up at the Blue Ridge Campground after Cowboy camping packed up and now hiking about 4 miles until we hit a blue blaze and that blue blaze will take us another three miles into the town of rightwood and I think plan number one will be breakfast I absolutely love this time of day so pretty a gentle glow of the sunrising the promise of a new day you're sleepy and slowly waking up just great we are at the junction where we'll leave the PCT take this 2.7 mile blue BL to [Music] rightwood normally on a Town day we try to find accommodation and we stay the night but we're thinking today since we're getting there so early we might be able to do our chores maybe skip a a couple chores and then be able to get back to the trail tonight so that tomorrow we're waking up on trail and it's a full normal Trail day um the only thing is this blue blaze down to rightwood is so steep like we're going down down down down down which means later it's going to be like a 2,000 climb back up within 2 [Music] miles [Music] [Laughter] [Music] yeah [Music] so we resupplied at two different old grocery stores one like a real grocery store one more like a gas station and then we came back to the hardware store where they let us keep our back backpacks kind of just in the back area while we walked around town and they had this lovely charging station so we got to charge a lot of our stuff and now next mission is to have [Music] lunch [Music] we just got a ride from Trail Angel all the way up the mountain so we saved ourselves from having to climb up the 2,000 ft that we went down this morning but it was another scary uh scary ride I I don't blame the drivers he was a great driver but the roads are just so narrow and there's no guard rails and they just drop off so I'm a little shaken up by that but really thankful that he got us where we needed to be we're about I think like a mile back from where we went down earlier so we'll redo about a mile but it's downhill and it's a lot better than if we had to climb all the way back up and uh yeah today was a really like quick day in town we got in there had breakfast resupplied had lunch and then we're back on the trail so uh it'll be nice to just get some miles in today and then make the next few days a little shorter because of [Music] it here's the bench where we stopped this morning and we went downhill about 2,000 ft to rightwood and now that we're back going this way see [Music] you [Music] [Laughter] this is definitely this is packed in yeah so this is an unmarked campsite but there's no campsite it's just a few log chairs that's all it is there's nowhere to put your tent [Music] and we just made it to our campsite scoping it out checking out all the different bedrooms figuring out which one we want to stay in this one has really nice interior Decor but I really like the windows of this one it has quite a nice view we'll see what we pick so Landslide has taken the master bedroom primary and then over here just past the kitchen we have the dining room this is where we'll be having dinner obviously and then through the dining room is the other bedroom where we've set [Music] up
