so ladies and gentlemen what we'd like to do now I'd like to call forward please the 2022 sandfall McGeary medalist Aaron Young to the stage ladies and gentlemen of course also the arrow Sherman medalist the Stanford now Player of the Year as it really sunk in with your family you know the Journey of football that you've been on have you had some time now to really enjoy that yeah obviously it was um we were we were trying to win a grand final so that was that was what came first and um unfortunately we didn't didn't quite get there which was disappointing but um on an individual note it was nice and I've said a few times and I said to my my parents who who are in Melbourne and um they've sent a few messages saying how proud we are and that's probably not something that comes up in our family too often so that's always nice and I've said to them it's been nice all the the amount of people that have reached out over the time from when I started under nines at my local footy Club to to now um it's given me an opportunity to say thank you to a lot of people that potentially you you might not say thank you to um so yeah sitting back on it now I said it's it's pretty great to be able to thank those people who've had really been impact impact how can I get it out impact on the um on my footy journey and looking forward I guess as well um obviously as you said you know the week that was but uh some still some pretty exciting times with the team and obviously yourself personally um what what do we take out of this year and take into next year for you as a football player yeah I think we we had a lot of change this year which which we adapted to really well um so I the thing for me is we'll get we've got a really strong group of players that will get to stick together again and and we're able to hone some of those things some of those scenario based things um some of that stuff that just makes a little bit better last year we concentrated more on the connection and getting to know each other and we've got a really strong bond so um without a doubt we'll come back stronger than what we did this year well we're excited to see that ladies and gentlemen before we take a small break if you could please all charge your glasses tonight and toast the winner of the 2022 McGary medal Aaron Young [Music]
