right now several local districts have already canceled class for tomorrow the reason the august heat after a hot monday more sticky weather is on the way parma city schools willoughby east lake and south euclid lyndhurst schools will be closed and in avon lake all elementary schools and learwood middle schools will be closed tomorrow and wednesday the schools say the heat will make it difficult to keep covet 19 protocols in the buildings and several cleveland metropolitan schools will have early dismissal tomorrow students will leave two hours earlier than usual for the full list just head to wkyc.com or get the wkyc app to get weather updates right on your phone and for a look at how hot is expected to get we bring in matt wins hi matt yeah hi guys i want to start with some perspective right in terms of how this summer's gone so far 90s have been pretty uncommon this summer we've hit 90 degrees plus one time in the last 47 days and we've hit it only six times this summer so far so right around average but it's been a while right and what we're dealing with is a big dome of heat out towards the central plains states this thing's expansive it's not just us it's all the way up towards minnesota all the way down towards florida as you'd expect this is expanding eastward so as we go throughout the day tomorrow we're adding a good four five even six degrees to the warmth and stickiness that we had today so out the door tomorrow morning no problems we'll be in the 60s to near 70 degrees by noon we're talking temperatures up into the upper 80s especially as you get away from the lake we will have a lake breeze tomorrow so within a couple miles of the lake temperatures likely a few degrees cooler but look at this by four or five o'clock near 90 degrees i would add probably two or three degrees to that temperature but it's not a matter of temperature it's what it feels like in your heat indices your feels like temperatures during the peak heating tomorrow in the mid 90s that's some pretty serious heat so those precautions obviously will need to be taken area-wide we'll take a look at some storms in the forecast beyond this coming up laura all right matt thanks so much
