underway. and I do want to get to the latest out of the Middle East Now as you are taking a live look over the West Bank, we do continue to follow the latest Israel Launching that large-scale operation in the West Bank, The military says aimed at targeting terrorists. trains with Fox News has been on the ground following all of the developments since the October 7th attack by Hamas. He joins us now live. Good morning. Trey, thank you so much for being here. What do we know overall about this operation right now? Yeah, Josh. Good morning. This is an ongoing operation. that's currently taking place in the West Bank. according to Israeli media, it's 1 of the largest in the last 2 decades. and it is requiring significant. Israeli forces. spread throughout multiple towns and cities. We understand the operation is going after cells of Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants to try and deter their capabilities from launching further attacks in the future. Whether it be shooting attacks or attempted suicide Bombings Israel is acting what they say is on intelligence to try and go after these cells of militants And this was a surprise operation. that started overnight local authorities in the West Bank. say at least 9 Palestinians have been killed so far. some video circulating online show firefights taking place between Israeli forces and sells there in those cities. and the focus of at least 1 of the operations is on the city of Janine, which has been a hotbed for activity in the West Bank from groups like Hamas and Islamic Jihad And it really gives you a sense of what the Israelis are going after And again, this operation according to reports is still ongoing at this hour. Josh. and Trey I did want to talk a little bit about the operation that took place yesterday morning a hostage rescued in good health, and we actually, uh, heard from him really just moments ago here. do we know from the IDF and other intelligence officials how How exactly they were able to locate this hostage and bring him home safely? Yeah, 52 year old kid. Farhan alkadi was rescued from a tunnel in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the Israelis say that shiat at 13. the Navy Special Forces of the Israeli military. took part of this operation to rescue him. And he was found alone Underground. a significant. find for the Israeli military to find a hostage alive especially at this point in the war. He is broadly in good health and was released from the hospital today to be reunited with his family. He is from a bedin community in the South and some of the images. released yesterday. just show you how his family has been waiting for him to be rescued or released from Gaza. and it gives you a sense of just how long these families have been waiting. nearly a year. on October 7th, the country will Mark the 1 year anniversary of Black Saturday. and there are still more than 100 hostages being held inside Gaza. Some of them are dead Others are still alive. here in southern Israel. You can hear some of that outgoing artillery headed into the Gaza Strip as the Israelis continue their campaign against Central and Southern Gaza. And Trey, I do know that the ceasefire hostage release talks they do continue over in Doha, has there been any sort of movement as far as We Know? Yeah, right now they've shifted the talks from Cairo Egypt to Doha Qatar and they are continuing the conversation at the working level. Look, there are a lot of parties in the Middle East that want to see this conflict end and they want to see it end soon. They want to see the hostages that are currently being held inside Gaza released and they also want to see the deaths of Palestinian. Civilians. Stop the death Toll inside Gaza is rapidly Rising. families. Here are still waiting for their loved ones to return and there are simply no winners in this conflict. And so these teams are working around the clock to try and Hammer out the details of a ceasefire agreement.
