Pirates win series against Astros | Back home!

uh Pirates and the Astros over this week buckos take two out of three against Houston I thought it was a very nice rebound after a very tough and um very frustrating series down in Arizona against the Diamondbacks who the Pirates are going to be playing again this weekend by the way this time it's going to be in Pittsburgh so they come home after a relatively short road trip but uh against the Astros the Pirates um they continued to hit the ball well in my opinion got off to a little bit of a rocky start on uh Monday and as the Astros took the first game of or the uh bucks took the first game of that Series where O'Neal Cruz spotted them two on earn runs pretty much as the thing about O'Neal Cruz with me you know I want to buy him offensively because you know when he connects on the ball he punishes it and he hits it real hard like he can literally hit it 120 miles an hour so we know he has a lot of pop in his swing and we all know that he's a real strong hitter he's not the best Fielder he he's just not a good defensive player and that's the thing that you know frustrates me with O'Neal Cruz it's that I know all the potential is there for him to be a superstar pretty much he has it like I see it he hits the ball well he has a cannon for an arm runs runs like a a cheat on speed for crying out loud he can't feel and and that that's the thing that just frustrates me because it was apparent again with the third game of the series where he do for the ball missed it and it's just the the basic fundamentals like that you got to be able to to handle as a Fielder he lacks consistency with Fielding you know but in spite of that the Pirates were able to get the job done Monday another late rally that was the second day in a row that the Pirates rallied to beat the Astros as Michael a Taylor had himself a really good series he had two home runs in that Series against Houston the go-ahead Homer that turned out to be the game winning Homer for the buckos on Monday night and then an insurance home run on Tuesday night against them as the Bucks took Tuesday six to2 Paul skem on Monday pitched really well too it's just a shame that once again he got no run support and that's another thing about the offense like even though I thought the offense played very well in the series and the off and the uh the team hit the ball real well in the series they just can't get anything for Paul SK and that's just what really aggravates me because we all know what Paul skin is he's a phenomenon he is already making tons of headlines and he's only had what 13 14 starts the guy's six and one with an erra of under two and he's gonna be well at least the Pirates figure to be he's going to be the Ace of this franchise moving forward you got to be able to hit for him you got to get you got to give him some run support and I think the Pirates are very thankful that on Monday they were able to get him a no decision now granted I know that's not what you're striving to do when you're a starting pitcher is oh yeah I got to get that no decision but when you're trailing in the game because your offense is inspir got anything it's best to come away with that no decision especially considering the start before that he's he had his first career MLB loss against the Cardinals where he pitched into the ninth inning and once again let down by the offense and he was unfortunately tagged with a loss even though he pitched a phenomenal game against St Louis but you know you take the no decision considering the circumstance but you especially take the win Aus Chapman picking up a win in Houston of all places that place has been his personal House of horse throughout his career Yankee fans you know what I'm talking about when I say that David bedor finished the game up with a save and then like I said Tuesday six to2 just an overall solid game again hit the ball well got it in play played smart def defense um really I mean just everything that you could have hoped would happen in this series for the buckos they did aside from Wednesday I mean the Pirates had a big lead so I mean I'm not going to sit down here and go like oh the Pirates Wast a golden opportunity to sweep the Astros oh man you know they blew that I'm not gonna get on him for that I mean yeah it was frustrating how they could how they blew that game but let's be honest guys okay the Astros are a tough team to sweep they are and they're you know let alone to get a series win against them so you know you take what you can get you wash the sour taste out of your mouth you head back home to play the Diamond Backs you played them the previous weekend okay you're the last time you played Arizona you had a uh gutsy come from behind win against them but now you have to hope that the pitching a does well again and B that the offense just continues to hit the ball well because I think the Pirates head home with some momentum what's been the talk all season for the bucks well at least the majority of the season for the bucks okay they're not getting any runs they're not hitting the ball well Andy Haynes is a jag off Derk Shelton's a jag off those things are all true no one's denying that but they're coming home with momentum now offensively and considering that they even hit the ball well against Arizona last weekend too that's what they got to do because we know that Diamondbacks can especially put runs on the board I mean they won 17 to9 nothing the other day over Washington I know the Nationals aren't a great team but they put but you know 17 runs is 17 runs man you got to put some runs on the board Brian Day Lac Cruz in his uh Pirates debut went two for four with a run scored so really good day for Brian Day La Cruz in my opinion now we get to see isaah ker FFA hopefully we can see ikf probably at second base and I think this probably means that in my opinion Jared triolo is next off the island for us that's my opinion because Jared triolo he's been very disappointing offensively he's an okay Fielder but like I said when in my trade deadline recap ikf is pretty much what pyate fans thought that Jared triolo could have been so hopefully he can make his debut his uh Pirates debut I should say at PNC Park how do you like that for a pirates debut in front of the home crowd against a team that you're chasing in the National League Wild Card race I'd love for ik if to get the debut Friday to to get the debut Friday um you know and I say that maybe we move on from Jared triolo because it's not a guarantee that we do but let's say ikf just continues to outperform Jared Tri Alo it's second base and then when Nick Gonzalez comes back in you put him back there at second base and he picks up where he left off if I'm Ben sherington or if I'm the Pirates GM in general I'd be like you know what we really don't need Jared triolo anymore we can move on from him Leo pagero probably is is probably gonna get DFA too because they got like no confidence in him so I think ikf and Nick Gonzalez are going to be your second baseman going forward Brian Day La Cruz keep putting him in the Outfield you know and overall you just got to keep uh just got to keep hitting the ball well you know I I know I sound like a broken record but hey Joey Bart drove in a couple of runs Andrew McCutchen had a Bases Loaded walk who else Brian Reynolds continues to hit the ball so they're still getting on base it's just a matter of driving them in which is what they've been doing get it done against Arizona okay this is a team that you need to beat you're you're trailing them in the National League standings you're trailing them in the Wild Card race they're a team that you need to beat get it done and let me know what J think down in the
