listen it's hard to say a game has playoff implications especially because we're going to 12 teams now so that's really hard to say game one but if you look at Notre Dame's schedule they go at A&M that's a tough game they play FSU who now has a ding in them already so that's not going to be as highly ranked as we thought it would be then the end of the season they end with USC that's their three- ranked opponents so the Irish you don't play in a conference Championship they're not going to have that opportunity to make a statement either they don't have mer many cracks where they're going to you're going to go man they did something really good their next best game is probably Louisville so I think it's really important for Notre Dame to win this game when I look at Notre aame by the way there there's a team they went to the transfer portal they' they've added additions especially at quarterback and and I think Riley Leonard is a guy that we saw it Duke he's big he's strong he's athletic how fast does he get adapted to his system the best thing I can say about Notre Dame listen they had they had Sam Hartman a year ago and transfer in we thought it was going to save this offense but it was very much built on the running game the offensive line isn't as good but here's what I know they have I know they have a great play caller Jaden Daniels won a Heisman Trophy a year ago Mike denrock was at LSU he comes over now and and he comes to Notre Dame that is an immediate upgrade he is a really really good play caller and now you got a dual threat guy not like not that is Jaden Daniels but in that skill set that we saw him use Jaden Daniels to his full potential I think that's a really good thing for Notre Dame they got it tied end again Mitchell Els like the next big bed tight end you know that can make plays on the outside the receivers do they come along quickly I don't know but here's what I know so you you have obviously Mike denrock on the offensive side of the football that's solidified that's going to be a great side of the football then you got the defensive side of the football Al golden he has been unbelievable like he does a great job on the defensive side in game plans not getting beat deep they got one of the best corners in the country in Benjamin Morrison so I I think Notre Dames going to be a really really good team but I just think they've only got a few showcases so they can't they can't lay an egg in one of these and then expect to be in the college football playoff at the end and spin it to the other side A&M they got plenty of opportunities to make statements Mike Elco I think Mike Elko is a star I think he's going to be a great head coach when you watch what he did at Duke what he did with Duke is he took talent that they didn't really have a lot of and he maximized it Jimbo Fischer did the exact opposite at A&M like you watch you went to practice and you're like golly five star five star dang five star like all over the place a ton of talent and and just couldn't put it together 12 wins his last two seasons Mike Elco has 16 wins at Duke and it's not basketball season like this is football season so consistently outperformed what he had on the roster now comes back to College Station remember he was the DC at cyfield he he was the DC for gigum he knows the 12th man he knows all the Traditions he he knows know everything about this culture which I think is really really important stepping in year one he spent four seasons as a DC very successful this defense is going to be legit and when I talked about the schedule Notre Dame comes to him who else do you look at Missouri comes to Kyle Field who else LSU comes to Kyle Field and the big one at the end of the season the Rivalry renewed Texas a top five team a top three team to start the season comes to Kyle Field they've got a great opportunity with Mike Elco to establish some credibility year one to get some big wins are they a playoff team maybe not but I think Elco is a guy that's going to take this defense and immediately make them week in and week out so much better Conor wigman at the quarterback spot can they find some consistency on that side of the football because the schedule's tough but they Dodge ug they Dodge o Miss they Dodge Alabama and I just think Mike Elco is a really great coach and can make a statement year one but more importantly week one can get some juices some Mojo some good feelings going because Texas A&M has everything you need to be an elite team year in and year out to be one of those upper ealon teams they've got resources man they they've got high school recruiting in their backyard they've finally got a really good football coach that I think can develop recruit Talent like the nil budget is Texas bro like Texas money runs deep like they've got a budget they've got everything they've got facilities everything is in place for Texas A&M to be a perennial power in college football and one more thing and this isn't a little thing on the agies this is a huge thing I know what Elco is going to bring to the table and I know what his defense is going to do cuz I've seen it I've done it I've felt it he spent four years there right like I know he's going to be great I know they're going to be great Conor wigman they've been trying to figure out the QB spot for a while he's not just a guy and I'm not saying like if it clicks he's going to be good I'm saying if it clicks this year he's got a chance to be great and to be of the best quarterbacks in all of college football and soar up draft boards like he has Elite Talent but the most important thing and listen people are going to do breakdowns on Connor wigman as the season comes along later in the year they're going to show you his pocket presence and his mobility in the pocket he feels rushers it's innate it's a it's a natural feel that you can't give to somebody you can't teach so if this offensive side of the football gets organized and The Playmakers that I know that they have you just watch out for Connor wigman cuz he's going to soar up the charts and he might be a guy that we're talking about is he the number one pick in the draft is he the first quarterback taken like that's what kind of talent he's got
