hello Cruise fans thanks for watching back roads tourist today I'm Jeff and I have an unfortunate update to a story I brought you about a month ago in that story I told you about the vvi Odyssey cruise ship that was offering to what amounts to a lifetime Cruise the ship is supposed to do a series of three and a halfe world cruises and you can buy a cabin starting at $300,000 for a single or $500,000 for a double occupancy well the first cruise was scheduled to start on May 15th but it got moved back to May 30th then to June 4th after problems with the ship's gray water tanks were discovered then it was set back again to June 15th but inspectors discovered a problem with the rudder stock and I'm no Maritime expert but I think a reliable Rudder is a pretty important thing to have as of this recording the problem is still being worked on and there's no rescheduled date for the ship to enter service but here's the thing there are passengers who fully expected to begin their sailing in May who flew into Belfast Northern Ireland where the ship is in Dry Dock vevi has not made any statements about how they are assisting guests who are already in Northern Ireland after earlier delays the cruise line offered accommodations transportation and excursions to guests who were stuck in Belfast while the ship was being worked on well the company continue to cover those expenses well that remains to be seen the vevi Odyssey was built in 1993 and was last owned by Fred Olen Cruise Lines before that it was owned by other Cruise Line companies as well let's hope that this is the last of the problems that need repairs and that the Cruisers who have put up half a million dollars per couple can finally enjoy their residences at Sea please give this video a like And subscribe to the Backroads tourist Channel it only takes a second and I sure would appreciate it thanks for watching today I'm Jeff and I'll see you on a future Cruise [Music]
