A 24 year old woman is dead and a family is grieving after a semi truck hit a UV in Muskegon County crews worked for hours to clear the scene. 1390 sides, Michael Joy joins us in the newsroom tonight with more Mica Laura and the accident happened around two o'clock this afternoon and closed down a portion of Apple Avenue for hours. Security video shows the last moments before a semi truck pulling two trailers runs into a white SUV near the intersection of Wolf Lake Road and Apple Avenue in Muskegon County. We're pausing the video here as to not show the impact of the crash that killed a 24 year old woman pulling into the grocery store parking lot. Rocky Chatel who works at Wolf Lake auto repair witnessed the crash. You can see the site from the business. I was sitting inside with the garage doors open and the uh we heard the big boom, these things fly by all the time and you know, normally they boom because there's a manhole cover over there. But this one was a lot louder just before it. The semi in question is seen moving quickly through the intersection. After the collision, you can see a cloud of dust as the truck pushes the car into a grassy section next to the grocery store. The impact ended up taking down a telephone pole and catching the semi on fire. There was the debris all the way down the road wheels and batteries and front end pieces. That security camera video also shows employees with the auto shop running towards the scene. After realizing what they just witnessed when we called 911, there had already been a lot of calls. So when we ended up getting through to the dispatcher, they, uh they said they asked if it was in relation to the accident in the area. Chatel saying his heart breaks for the girl's family. I'm praying for you guys. It's really tough because, uh, you know, whenever you lose somebody like that, it's really, really hard right now. It's not known which driver was at fault.
