Central Kentucky high school football highlights, scores: Aug. 23

[Music] it's been a long summer hot days conditioning two a days training camp was long enough it's time to go out there and hit somebody it's time to score some touchdowns it's time to put some dubs up on the schedule High School football is finally back which means it's time for home team Friday Nights Live from Fox 56 Sports this is home team Friday nights hey guess who's back back back again hey home team's back man tell your friends tell your mama tell your granddad tell Miss Betty down at the diner tell everybody that home team is back feels good Michaels Jordan Adams kobby Wilson we are back and most Jordan High School football's back yes sir everyone loves High School football doesn't matter what state you're in doesn't matter where you're at it's the best place to be and I wouldn't rather be anywhere else that's what coach tawon Ry said tonight the best game in the world his boys were about to go out there and play four quarters of it we're going to hear from him later in our inside access segment but first we want to start with our game of the week we are doing this every week we're picking a top dog and that's where our Top Dog Kobe Wilson is going she went out to Scott County and Franklin County a big time battle up in Georgetown at Great Crossing High School big defensive game at first the Flyers starting off with a big time fourth down stop to get the ball Scott County ran almost every play but the Flyers were stopping everything capitalizing off the stop marching down the field and getting on the board first thanks to a Delano Collins free yard run into the end zone seven nothing Flyers Franklin County dominant in the Run game it's Carter Richardson with the quarterback keep seven yd TD to extend the lead the 14 shutting out Scott County picking it up now later in the fourth quarter would not be enough Franklin County they got it done man Christian Moore and the boys Eddie James and the boys a big time opening season win for the class 4A power over Scott County 26-6 and as mentioned that is where we go out to Colby Wilson she is going to be reporting on our game of the week every single week so she sticking around and Colby the uh the game with great Crossing is still going on right so I know you got an active atmosphere but what were your takeaways from that game of the week hey yeah we got a lot going on here but game one I did not disappoint I mean for my first High School game I couldn't have asked for anything better I did some previews with these teams earlier this week and both of them said the biggest thing was going to be physicality that game was most definitely physical but the Flyers coming out on top getting it done this game was all defense in the first half of the first quarter Big Time stops from both stes Scott County had its chances on fourth down but the Flyers weren't falling for anything Jeremy Walter's a starting inside linebacker for the Flyers who I actually spoke to earlier this week said they had to be physical and disciplined to win this game and they did just that and then some on both sides of the ball player of the game had to be running back Christian Moore who snuck into his coach's interview check it out about this guy behind you right here can you talk about his performance he's a great kid and he's a great person and a great leader um million dollar smile fun to be around and and when he gets going our team's really dangerous and uh he's a good teammate C how you feeling about the win tonight I'm feeling great I just feel like offensive line went over the top tonight physical physical physical and that's what I love the back my offensive line I trust him well he talked about Mo's million dollar Smiles he did not have the only smile this team was loud Rowdy in the locker room after they secured that first win I asked coach James coach what is next after such a dominant performance and he said got to get ready for Lexington Christian so you know where this team's mindset is reporting in Georgetown I'm Co Wilson Fox 56 Sports all right kobby thanks a lot we're going to check in on that great Crossing second game of the double header but first Jordan you had a big one yeah some people might have pick this to be our game of the week Brian station versus Trinity Championship rematch we start with Zack Floyd getting the stretch to the left Mike and nobody's going to catch him he beats everyone to the pylon for six the defending champs land their first punch of the evening the next possession hey check out Dane ke hey Frederick Douglas and Lexington native uh kayin Washington he's pretty good I don't know if you could play at UK but this looks like Ray Davis folks can he go all the way oh he gets caught great run though for Mr Washington and the fans are loving it but it would only result in a field goal so they chip into the lead just a little bit 7 to3 but in the end Trinity gets the win in this rematch folks 28- 10 is your final over on the North side hey I still think uh I got high hopes for Coach Hawkin Squad he's going to roll in 6 a but that is a beast a different Beast right there all right as we mentioned the second game of that double header in the Battle of elorn Creek we got great Crossing hosting Madison Central Malachi Moreno big week for him man he just gets the recruitment last week or the commitment announcement getting fans pumped up persley Brit with a touchdown catch so long that think they from the parking lot yeah nice big time play right there team locked in Jeremiah Clark a little bit later on a keeper making things happen this war Haw team obviously had a great season two years ago ranked in the state AP pole struggled last season but did trying to get things going under coach bowlan so Luke Balor with another TD taking it to the house and great Crossing that game is still in progress we'll try to get to that final score later in the show if it goes final but kind of ran a little late so we'll update you a little bit later all right that was a nice score right there to Tom Hawk Valley we go Madison Central taking on Johnson Central it was a defensive battle early folks But Central Johnson Central I should say driving fourth and goal Sam farmer go for the Indians to make the big time stop so we're going to keep this thing at 0 and the fans are loving it folks next Drive Braxton Perry 50 yard plus Run for the score look at him go little counteraction there from the bad guys that would he would get loose and obviously score on that one as Johnson Central comes into town ER I should say Madison Central comes back after that touchdown and wins 25 to 14 hey that's a good win for Coach Blair I know they had they're another team that kind of had a setback last season but coach Blair is trying to build a program uh coming back from from hul the legendary coach there at Madison Central all right coming up we got a lot more games to get diving into these guys I know uh I don't know if it was you or Colby that went and did a pre-season preview with them but I think it wasby but I know I know all about confin man we know all about remember for basketball season Luke is so talented his older brother was a talented quarterback for S as well who then went on the now play at Marshall and uh they these guys are going to be probably one of the best Dynamic Duos in the state yeah I'd be I'd be shocked if they didn't make at least make it to the title game um obviously they don't have to play most of the big boys uh so with that onew punch I don't want to put too much pressure on coach and staff I don't but i' would love to see him in Kroger field this fall and I'd be shocked if we don't yeah I know Cole Pennington certainly wanted to wanted to get that done but Chad the former NFL quarterback the head coach now certainly has high hopes for his team they lost to Raceland in the playoffs last year obviously Pike BS the Top Dog in class 1a so we will see Andis going to have something to say about it too we will see all right let's get going we're elsewhere around the city in Tate's Creek the commodor open their season against Easter and you know coach Hawks has his guys ready to battle first quarter 66 tie but not for long as BJ Evans rumbles his way in an end zone yeah that's wait room right there keep those feet moving pushes them off there 30 yd touchdown to put the doors in front students loving it excited for football to be back of course Tate Creek with the ball Darnell Burnside going to launch a deep dime to JT Cooper for the 50 yd score commodor go up 20 to6 and this one all doors BJ Evans another one his second touchdown of the night Tate's Creek strong start to the season 48-6 win over Eastern well here in Lexington the dumbar Bulldogs taking on the Connor cougars dog pound fired up looking for a week one Dub here Bulldogs on the move and it's going to be pacifi anduo and he doesn't go around with the defense right there to stop him a big gain though for the home team the cougs going through the air and it's going to be Otis Gran Montgomery hitting Chase cfer over the middle and he's taking it all the way to the house for the score number four is pretty quick as the Bulldogs fall in their home opener 42- 15 right Frank KY OB I'm sorry Dum I'm sorry yeah they had a home opener as well Michael they're hosting Fleming County it's going to be rant Payton and he hooks up with his wide out nice pitch and catch there but unfortunately Michael they would turn the ball over on downs and not score so the very next drive it's going to be the awaya team Jordan H is's going to punch it in they went Wing T all the way down the field as the Panthers get on the board first to take the seven nothing lead in the first this game somewhere in the third quarter we'll get you a score update but it was 7 S at the half jeez that's a late game all right let's do T cre that's or hemry clay that's my team Demetrius gay he's a great guy and a solid football coach they struggled last season trying to turn things around first play of the season it's a fumble Luke helgerson with the recovery for the home team that would result in a 46 yd field goal to start the ball game Oldham County would respond though RPO action slant was wide open a little bit later here obviously in the high school system rpos love to see it and that's a nice route right there 81 E's rolling Brooks nightlinger rolling and the colonels win over Henry Clay tough loss right there 44-6 but it's tough man once Frederick Douglas came into the city Jordan all the other City Schools struggled dumbar Henry Clay they lost some Talent cuz Douglas became top dog so but they're trying to turn things around to see him anyways cuz he's just speeding all over the field it's hard to keep track of this guy wide open so clearly the defenses couldn't keep track of him Kaden Frederick a nice pass to him in the end zone for the first quarter touchdown a lot of teams thrown a lot of penalties this was at the end of the first half though check out this interception oh the concentration play the week caman Carter yeah you might see it later in the show nice pick there in the end zone at the end of the first half eight nothing at the end of the first half Paris would roll this one still working on getting you a final score there and uh just up the road in Bourbon at Bourbon County these guys were struggling to Western Hills the Frankfurt Squad coming over and Cameron Flynn obviously getting a lot going they get the touchdown in the second quarter rolling over the colonels I think that made it 27 to nothing and then Colonels finally get a drive at the end of the first half almost got a touchdown but that was Cameron Flynn right there with the deflection to keep the colonel scoreless going into halftime so again we will try to get these final scores for you but man Jordan these games ran kind of late tonight so we will check a little bit later guess Rusty too out to westest Colts taking a moment to honor their former teammate Jared Sanchez before the game against Wayne County the players clearly emotional as you can see the Cardinals opening drive they March down the field and Corin Edwards gets the edge and nobody's going to catch number 10 into the end zone for the opening score of the game s nothing Wayne County but Gabriel Smith is going to throw some Defenders off on the QB keeper as he plows into the end zone boom boom boom boom ties this thing up at 77 but Edwards folks he's a star too big and too fast as he races down the sideline dragging Defenders with him and he would be able to punch it in the Cardinals get the win on the road 35-4 is your score part two of the double header over at West just starting off oh with an air drop W you don't see that very often folks with the copter the Jaguars of East jine taking on danville's Admirals both squads under new head coaches we're going to start with James burgage linking up with his man on the quick uh little play there and he draged some Admirals down inside the red zone so in scoring distance and they're going to ground and pound this one right up the middle as he falls into the end zone pretty good there as you get the opening score for East Jess later on it's going to be a pass going deep down the sideline left and it's caught into the end zone still working on a score on this one as well these games are killing us tonight folks but we'll make sure to get it to you later tonight online all right one more that we probably do not have a score for you but we will try our best Betsy Lane and Berea this is the first half of the double header out at uh TRC and Andrew McCutchen this guy is an unbelievable athlete these guys were late to the game Jordan they had a long like a 2hour bus ride they show up a little late and then they go up and put a touchdown on the first play of the game no stretch Andrew mccut and Big Time stuff for that touchdown and on the second drive he would just go ahead and do it again oh nice little move little burst right there then he cuts back in yeah got him big time stuff right there and Betsy Lane would uh win over Berea but we will still try to get that final score for you all right coming up we saw some uh good plays M real good plays now you guys this one play number one from Paris the new Turf which has to get some brownie points for the vote right but this was a Frankfurt play and an unbelievable interception in the end zone from chaman Carter look at the concentration it goes oh oh it does not let it hit the turf that part of the turf was not the new orange that was still black Turf but awesome pick but Paris will get the win what do you got Jordan all right Michael play number two is wne County QB Corbin Edwards just rumbling through the West just defense man he was doing it all in inside outside and look at the extension for the pylon for the touchdown West J it looked like he was running that fast against West Jess as a pretty good play number two Michael what you got for number three all right this one is with s these boys Luke Pennington you know he's finding Brock coffin a lot this one was to Chase Parker over the middle no one is going to catch this guy yeah he's looking like Brock with that 4 6 40 yard dash speed which has probably gotten even faster now that guy's an athlete but anyways Chase Parker Big Time stuff for that team a 49 nothing win for S over Holy Cross Covington sah are going to be one of the best teams in class 1a they lost the Raceland in the playoffs last year trying to get the top of the top of course Pike full is right there at the top of the top but Big Time stuff from him so you
