Daniel Zebulon Matthews but he goes by zebi and he hit Springer ran the fast ball in on him Springer appears to be okay as he's taken off the elbow guard and heading down to First yeah just ran inside and caught him on the arm I believe and I I don't think it was an impactful hit by pitch you can see maybe just his jersey that's the best kind of hit by pitch there is and this is a well hit ball a deep left center field and it's going to go Dalton varo with a long home run to left Center and after getting shut out last night the Blue Jays waste no time getting on the scoreboard tonight yeah no runs on seven hits and that long home running the opposite field the ball was carried like crazy during batting practice blatty hits some balls where few people can hit him in this ball park and bar gave that one the opposite field headed all the way into the blue jay's bullpen in deep left Center and this is a big ballpark it's 411 ft out there where the blue jay's gate is to their Bullpen and he stayed on it and hit it high and deep to left Center Elite control numbers in the miners this one is grounded up the middle and that's going to be a base hit hit batter home run single and and N Vara getting some attention and this was up and out over the plate at 95 and he hammered it we mentioned the ball was carrying but he smoked that one that's going to be a home run in most ballparks and he gave it a ride the other fo now Spencer Horwitz gets into one and this ball is gone and four batters into the game it is four to nothing [Applause] well what a great sight that is breter Horwitz with his ninth home run a two-run shot couple of two-run home runs here in the first and still nobody out good for you Spence that he smoked that ball and he was putting on a show himself in BP and now he gets to sport the Home Run jacket it's showing a little more power and this pitch is a cut that just stayed out over the plate they were trying to go back door and that is right down the middle and he didn't miss it he hit it high and deep over that high wall in right field now Alejandro Kirk sends one to deep right and it's off the wall and it's going to bounce past Kepler backing towards the infield and that's going to allow Kirk to get to second [Applause] base boy the Blue Jays have put up some big numbers in distance in this inning seriously I mean after getting totally shut down by Pablo Lopez and the bullpen last night I mean they have come out swinging the bats with authority here tonight well it's a beautiful swing by Kirk and Max Kepler in right field he got turned around he wasn't going to make a play it's over his head righties fast ball and it's hit through the hole into left Kirk is going to be held it's a base hit for Wagner I tell you what well can hit and he got the two strikes he could have swing down he saw a big hole on left side of the infield he stays on this pitch it's down in away and he just tops it drives it through the left side of the infield from another base hit he can absolutely hit and yeah he might not have a lot of power just yet but I guarantee he's going to learn how to hit for power so Runners on the corner still just one out and here comes the eighth batter to come to the plate here from the top of the first Nathan Lucas getting a start for the second night in a row since being recalled had missed a couple of months with that ligament injury in his thumb needed surgery as he pokes one down the left field line it's hit fairly well and it's down and it'll skip up into the seats so it'll be a double for Lucas to bring home Kirk Wagner has to stop at third it is five to nothing boy that was a good approach too as you have a runner at third base you're thinking stay in the big part of the field and Nathan L hits it the opposite way and picks up an RBI one bounce on the warning track and it goes out of the ballpark but that's a terrific pitch to drive to the Outfield he stays on it and hits it pass wer one skip over the fence for a ground Ru double they think there might even be a little bit more in there as he lines one into Center a base hit and two more runs are going to come into to score to make it seven to nothing [Applause] remember when the Blue Jays had trouble scoring runs in the first it's a different story now they have done a terrific job as they've jumped on this rookie pitcher nine men coming to the plate in the first and Leo Jimenez drives one through the drawn in Infield a two run single and you wonder if ARA were to reach would rco belli even let him face Guerrero let him throw even more pitches well he will get out of it so we won find out as he strikes out of our show and finally the top of the first comes to a close but it is a huge inning for the Blue Jays do varo got it started number 17 on the season Spencer Horwitz a two-run shot as well
