2024 US OPEN MEN'S DRAW/BRACKET PREDICTION and PREVIEW

what is going on guys it's Luke back here with another video and today we have our predictions for the 2024 US Open tennis tournament so we'll start at the top with yanic CER going up against McKenzie McDonald we are going to take the Italian world number one to win that one next we have Alex mikkelson going up against the qualifier melson will likely be in the finals of the Winston Salem tournament which is a hard turnaround coming right from Winston Salem up to New York different balls different speed have to adjust and he's going to be playing against the qualifier that has already won three matches in New York nonetheless I think the qualifying field is rather weak and mikkelson is a good enough player and I think he gets through then we have a qualifier going up against Stan vinka and I think the qualifier wins this one you know Stan the age is catching up them he he hasn't had a great season hasn't won many matches um the former US Open champ I think will fall to a qualifier then we have Nicholas Yari going up against Chris so Connell um neither has had a great season so far I mean Jerry had that one standout event in Rome um but the city but The Season's been pretty mediocre besides that um this match is definitely going five sets however I did see Jerry play um against musetti in Cincinnati and I I thought Jerry showed signs of a little bit of of confidence and Improvement so I'm going to take Jerry but I think that that definitely goes four or five sets next we have learner Tien going up against Arthur Fe and Fe um his worst Surface by far is a hardcore he has had a great season but you know I'd say his best surface is is grassp because of how fast it is and how aggressive he is and then Clay gives him a little bit more time for his big swings and hard is just right in the middle you know he doesn't have as much time for his big swings and his shots aren't rewarded as much um because the Court's not as fast as as grass so you know he struggles on the surface a little bit more Tiana has won a lot of matches this season and is coming from Winston Salem I think I have to give the win to and the upset win to learner Tien over Arthur Fe then we have xia munar going up against the qualifier I'm going to take xiaan munar to win this one um next we have Max pcel and Alexander vukic I think purcel has been the better the better player the player that's won more the second half of the Season although I think he has a lot of holes in his overall game I do think he can get it done over Alexander vukic then TP over Lorenzo SEO I think it's pretty straightforward um TP is the more consistent player um he's going to make a lot more balls and moves better and seo's kind of struggled this season then tanasi kokakis and Stefano cipas I thought cipas played well in Cincinnati you know his back end is still a huge liability but I I think he played well in Cincinnati um um he didn't play well the week before against Nisha Cory I just think that against the player that's as solid from the ground is tanasi konakis Steph is going to either have to be really aggressive or make a lot of back hands and I just don't think he does that and I think I'm going to go for the upset here and take tanasi konakis then Nuno borish and Coria I think on a hardcore faster surface Nuno borish is the better player um Tristan School Kate and Taro Daniel now School Kate same as learner Tian has won a lot matches on the Challenger circuit this year where Taro Daniel who um started the season strong has not been great recently I think though in Majors Daniel has more experience and and can get it done then FAA going up against yakob menik and I think um FAA is the better player there he may struggle a little bit but menik is at a really poor second after the season and Felix has has gone the opposite way he's been great um ever since he made that um final in Madrid so we're going to take Felix there um next we have Flavio caboi and James Duckworth um getting into our um second section of the draw um I think Flavio caboi wins that one there then zizu Bergs and Pavo katav I think on a hardcore zizu Bergs has won a lot of matches on the Challenger circuit this season so I will go with zizu Bergs now a player that has been pretty poor the second part of the Season Fabi and Maro Jan going up against the Q um I don't know what to think of it Maran has been pretty subpar but I think against this weaker qualifying field he can get at least one win so we'll take Fabian Maran next we have Danielle meddev going up against Ducan lovic um sorry this is still the first quarter of the draw um here and I do think meddev beats liveage I think on a hardcore he has the huge advantage and Danielle seems to feel at home during the US so we will take Daniel medv next we have alarz going up against a qualifier of course Carlos next we have shappo and bodic Von is on sculpt shappo has been quite consistent this year made a lot of third rounds a lot of fourth rounds um waiting for him to have that real breakthrough tournament I think Dennis gets the better of botic Von deson scope who hasn't had a great season next we have Diaz aosta and Hugo Gaston and haven't seen much of Diaz aosta you know he played um the that South American clay Court Circuit was pretty solid um won a tournament there and really hasn't done much since um he's been injured dealing with injuries I I think it's an interesting match up him going up against Hugo Gaston Gaston another Lefty who beat Diaz a Costa recently you don't know really what you're going to get from Gaston though and I just think that because he's played more matches I have to barely give the edge to Hugo Gaston but I really don't know how he's how he's going to compete how he's going to try um and if he's going to try so we're going to take Gast on there but regretfully and then Jang XI Jen and Jack Draper and you know every everything is telling me to pick Jack Draper in this match um his form going in he he's made the round of 16 at of US Open last year um from an unseated position but when I look at this match you know Jang xien should win this match he's been more consistent overall than than has Jack dra um he he's one more in the major tournaments than Jack Draper has and I just think that overall Jang xien should get the job done he's had a much straighter season Draper tends to go up and down and up and down and and Jang xien rides more of a a steady line so I will take Jang xien um then too and Goan so many toss-ups here um in this first round I I think I have to give it to David goon though he he's coming playing some seriously good tennis at the moment and um is doing well in Winston Salem hopefully he loses um so that you know he can regain some energy and some rest um cuz he he's come off a few wins and he's hot heading into this tournament tabilo is a player player that can get upset in the first round he loses a lot of first round matches though if he gets past the first round he goes deep but he usually doesn't and now another toss up here between chorch and manarino chorch has won more matches in the last couple weeks though than has manarino this whole season so I will take boret George here I think the Lefty match up actually benefits George because he won't have to hit as many forehands he'll be able to hit a lot of backhands and I think manarino similar to vinka his age is catching up to him so we'll take chorge there then fognini and Thomas mahot I have to take mahot here just because I don't like fog nini's um he he's very all over the place um sometimes he tries sometimes he doesn't sometimes he tries for half the match then gives up when one thing goes wrong for him I think mahat is though he is very inconsistent in the way he plays tennis I think mentally he's the better player so I'll go for mahat then M and Corda I think Corda wins this one much bigger server but who knows you know cord has suffered some big first round defeats in majors and is not that's not necessarily where he plays his best tennis the US Open so maybe MCH can can give him some trouble with that slice then Alex demon hard to beat Marcus gon um demon has been missed the last few tournaments with a little injury so this one he might he might drop some form but I think overall I saw him at the UTS event um earlier today he looks okay like he's moving fine so we're going to take the demon then one of these two Q's we don't know who they are we have to fill one in um navon and almire this is interesting I think naon really struggles on on the faster surface um you know he has a weak serve that can be attacked I think altm is a slightly better serve and a slightly better all Court game better at the net I think I have to take Daniel altm and then I will take Karen kachanov to beat Daniel Evans um Mato arnaldi and zacha I think arnaldi wins this one and I think Roman safin beats Matthew Forbes in this one um Jordan Thompson I think beats Co Conant Leen um pretty easily and then I think hu herot beats a qualifier so now we've made it through the top half of the draw um now we're at the bottom half of the draw where we have Casper Rood the eight seed I think he gets past the qualifier and I think Gilman Fe is also gets past the qualifier now Roberto carbas baina going up against the qualifier carbas has been solid this year nothing great nothing terrible I do think though he can he can get past the qualifier so I will take Roberto caralis bana in this one um Jerry Shang and bck I do think oh I do think Jerry is is the more even player here he he doesn't really have a weakness bck you know if bck wants to try really hard um Buck is a top 10 player in the in the world especially on on a hardcore but you don't really know what you're going to get with bck I think Jerry Shang overall is not going to go up and down and up and down like bck and I think he's just going to be steady and get himself a win then Ugo Amar and Thiago Montera I think on the faster surface you have to give it to Ugo andar who had a Stell first few months of the season on some fast hard hard courts sorry for the voice crack um I if the the US open's playing fast which apparently it's not um if it is I think um be could make a really Deep Run um if it's not if it's playing normal then he's just going to make whatever run he makes but I think playing against another Lefty is helpful for him cuz he does tend to struggle on that backhand side does unar and um Mont is not really that type of player to get it there so I think Ugo and bear wins that one then Stricker and komana um I think Stricker gets it barely but he's not in great form and komasan is not great on a hardcourt so I have to take um Stricker there then we have Ramos venas and um Mato bartini and I think bartini wins this one and then I think Taylor Fritz goes and beats cam Carabelli to set up an interesting match up between Fritz and bartini in that second round then hogar Runa and Brandon Nakashima this is a very interesting match up because I think that the bookies are not going to have Nakashima as a huge Underdog because he's rather even with with with Runa you know um I think this is more of a 50/50 tossup I did like what I saw a lot from Runa in in Cincinnati I think big big foe frustrated him at the end but I just think overall um when it comes push the shub I think Runa is is a winner and he he has that winning mentality where I feel Nakashima though he's played great this season and has been really good and it's probably the better player I don't know if he believes he can win um I don't know if he believes he's as good as as he is so I think I'm going to barely go for hogar Runa there but I think it could be close um and then I think PCB will be Arthur Kazo PCB is playing some seriously good tennis at the moment nishok has already beaten KET manovich on a um hardcourt this summer so I'm going to take nishioka um Muti who's my favorite player to watch at the moment um with all of his variation is is really similar to Roger feder the way he uses the that short slice to get people in a bad position um I think MTI beats opela and then I think that Fran cundo um though he has struggled this season beats offner MGI pericard and Thomas Martin AER um this is such an interesting one because I don't know how much I like eer on a hardcourt um you know CL he's much better on Clay um and Mei perard beat him on Clay um in a third set tiebreaker in the finals of Leon I just I I think I think eer is going to win I don't know why but I'm going to pick eter there and then Muller and Walton another interesting one so many toss-ups here I think Adam Walton is is is the no I don't I don't know müller's won a lot of matches this season not on a hard court though hard is definitely not his best surface Walton's won some pretty good matches on Fast courts but I think if it's playing slower I have to go for Alexander Müller then Zev and rori I'm going to take Alexander Z verev to win this one um rubv and zot W these two played a very interesting match um earlier this year in in Australia and rubu was down I think five or 61 in the fist that tiebreaker came back all the way and got it done I think rubv is playing really good tennis at the moment he had a um Final in Montreal followed up by quarter where he took a set off center and he he he split with Center three sets to three over the last two weeks so he's he's playing good tennis I think ruu beats sabath W um render Nash I think is more consistent than Eubanks I think he gets that one done and then we have one of these qualifiers again um so opportunities for qualifiers we have quite a few qualifiers going up against weaker players or other qualifiers then year hka who's pretty good in Majors I think will beat martan vukovich I think Lucian darder will beat um Sebastian Bas I think dere is becoming more of an all-rounded player um not just on Clay but also on hard and and Sebastian B is not I think dere is a better serve than him so I'll will take darder then I think Town greeksport beats Summit Nal um it will be close though but I think Greeks sp's power game the big one two punch with the sering for and gets him through and then I think that davidovich faka will handle rinky he caught up pretty easily and then I think grigor takes down a qualifier I think Shelton beats team in a rematch of the US Open semi-final from last year this might be Dominic team's farewell to tennis and he has not been great the last few years so it it's sad for him to go out this way but I do think Big Ben gets it done um and then I think Bautista AGP beats nardy nardy I don't think he's a great player um I think cuper beat shevchenko shevchenko has been bad on a hardcourt I think hard court is his worst surface right now and so I'll take cuper and then I'll take Francis tiao who's playing pretty promising tennis at the moment over kovachevich I'll take Alexi poin over kwanon woo but that should be really close you know quanson woo has been interesting cuz he hasn't played that many matches but when he has he's he's been good this season so I could see a potential upset there I don't think poin is as good as other people do he he had one week um where you know he played really good tennis but overall there's a lot of holes in this game he's pretty inconsistent when he's off and he does not volley well and I think Quan wo could give him some trouble I think Pedro Martinez probably loses to a qualifier at this point Pedro really struggles on serve and then I think that Yan Leonard Stu beats llo jera pretty easily and jokovic beats AQ moving on to the round of 64 where we have CER who I think will take down mikkelson with little to no trouble I think Nicholas jari once he wins one match he can get going and get to the round of 32 I think learner Tien can can do something well you know he's having a great week in Winston Salem right now he beat Maran he beat Thiago zavage W and you know overall I just think all the matches he's won on the Challenger circuit this season should do something for him he's played at the US Open two years in a row um and and the last two years and I think that that something good could be coming for the USC um Star tennis player then Tommy Paul and Max pcel I'll take Tommy Paul tenasi and Nuno borish I think tanasi gets this one done um better serve I think the better overall more aggressive game tanasi has so I'll take him I think Felix gets over the line against Taro Daniel I think Flavio caboi beats zizu Bergs Cabo has been pretty good on a hardcourt this season um meddev I think beats marosan pretty easily I think alarz gets past Dennis shapovalov um Jang xien should make it rather easily to the third round his first round match up against Draper is the really the really hard one but if he gets G on or Diaz a cost in the second round he should get through um I think the thing about boror is he was playing so well um and then he just played terribly against hijikata so I don't know what to make of him I think I really don't think David Goan makes it to the third round but you know what he can he can definitely get there so I will take David Goen there um but now I kind of think tabilo beats Goan and then tabilo beats George but we're going to take Goan to the third round and this section is wide open because Sebastian Corda is not great in major tournaments but I do think it if I'm picking this match by match he probably beats Thomas mahot we could see a weird upset there though actually I I kind of want to yeah cuz Corda has not been great in major tournaments as good as he's been on a hardcourt I think we we're going to give this one to mahat here and even though he's not in good form maybe he can pull off an upset of some sort we we got to take the upset there then we're going to take the Dem over a qualifier we're going to take hatchin of over altm and we're going to take this is tough between safine and arnaldi um you know I'm going to barely give the edge to arnaldi here but arnaldi is all over the place sometimes he plays well sometimes he doesn't but he seems to turn up in major tournaments so will give it to arnaldi then Jordan Thompson and huie this is another interesting one I I think barely huie but very very tight match up very interesting I just think huie with the advantage serve wise and and his his ability to play the all Court game I think I I give that one to huie just the edge but Thompson is tough especially for hu he's going to get a lot of returns in play and make it very difficult for the Polish lad right there then we have Roode and mon I think even at the US Open you know it's if it's playing slower rude gets it done but I'm not too confident in Casper on a hard court right now and then I trust Jerry Shang to get to the third round against caralis bana I think Ugo Umar beats Dominic Stricker and this is interesting between bartini and Fritz um I think in the US Fritz maybe gets the advantage um bertini struggled against Runa in Cincinnati that's the most I seen him struggle in a while and it's it's really can Fritz make enough balls and and such to trouble bartini make bartini hit back hands well baritin to be physically okay he struggled in Cincinnati I think the heat is a little bit less in New York and they may be playing this during the night and if if Taylor Fritz is not getting a lot of free points off his serve that's when he really struggles so if this is a night match and it's a three out of five set match I have to give the edge to Matteo bartini then Runa and carb careno I think Runa if he wins one match can get that one done and I think MTI beats Nisha then fron sindo and eer this is an interesting one cuz Fran has not been good on a hardcourt this season but I think if it comes push to shove against his countrymen I think he has the edge proving that he is still the best Argentine and I think serenda can get to the third round and I think Zev beats Muller um rublev render I think rublev is going to win this one here and then then I think he'll face Yuri leka in the round of 32 Talon greeksport and Lucian derei I'm going to take greeksport here again I think his his onew punch game is ability the big forand his backand is one of the worst on tour but I also don't think he's going to have to hit many backand in in this match so I will take um Greek sport then davidovic faka and grigor this could be really tight really close grigor does not have an easy draw nonetheless I think he gets over the line against davidovich faka to set up a match up with Talon greeksport in the third round then I think Ben Shelton's big serving and big energy in New York he's going to feed off the crowd beat Bautista AO and I think that tifo is going to beat cuper and set up a third round match up between the two Americans what we saw in the quarterfinals last year that should be fun to watch then I think poin beats a qualifier and jokovic beats Yan Leonard streu Leonard on a hardcourt is not really a threat to the Joker then CER and Jerry I think CER gets through this one rather easily um I think Paul finally ends the Run of learner Tien and Paul gets to the round of 16 that's very consistent player week in week out is TP so I think he he gets right back to the round of 16 as he did last year um I think Felix beats tanasi I think this one could be close um I like Felix's composure um you know he's really trusting that Forin inside out you know even though he lost the Draper I think what what happened with him was the lights in Cincinnati were were bothering him and he hit a ton of double faults in that last set but you know he he had to play a lot from the ground and Felix against a lefty from the ground is not a great matchup and and he still kind of kind of lived up to it went went through it on the big points and I think that's why Felix will get to the round of 16 and I think Danielle meddev beats Flavio caboi here I don't think caboi has enough um ability to get free points to really trouble meddev he's not too much of a power player he's very risky I love the patterns that kaboy plays very fun to watch um but I think Med in New York City at night gets it done and then I think alcarez against Jang xien alarz would probably win that one and I think that you know if Thomas mahot gets this far Why not pick him to go to the round of 16 he kind of did the same in the French Open he wasn't playing that well getting going into the tournament and then mid round to 16 I could definitely see him going there with his aggressiveness and and aggressive play and just ability to beat almost anyone on any day um outside of the top 10 I think I give that one to mahot then I think the demon gets past catching off demon has a pretty easy draw so far he's definitely in the weakest quarter or yeah weakest eighth of the draw um and has a pretty good draw until he'll probably play caros alarz and I do think QB probably beats AR the ifu gets this far but I forgot that that let me go back to the last round and I forgot that huie is not healthy right now and and he's having the knee trouble so maybe we take Jordan Thompson to beat huie and then we take arnaldi I just feel like if Jordan Thompson is there he's probably better than arnaldi but we're going to take arnaldi to make that round the round of 16 cuz arnaldi is always good in these big tournaments then we have uh rude and Shang rude against the Lefty I don't really like that match up but I don't know how much Jerry Shang is going to believe in himself to beat Casper so I think I end up have to end up taking Casper here and then I think Matteo bertini beats Ugo umbe to set up an interesting one between Casper and Matteo um Runa and MTI I think if Runa gets this far he's going to continue his momentum and get to the round of 16 um he's been pretty solid in in the majors this year he made it deep I think he made it to round of 16 at both Wimbledon and roling G so I'm going to take him again here um I just think I really like MTI but I just think on a hardcore you have to give the advantage to Runa and then I think that Zev beats sindel really easy I mean Zev has the best draw out of anybody in this he avoids um CER and alarz he only he's only going to have to play one of them maybe he gets this really easy section with selo r selo as his like seed here Runa as as the the seed over here and Runa could easily lose in the first round um MTI who's not who probably worse surface is a hardcore um similar to Fe in that way where he gets a lot out of the slice um bouncing quickly on a grass and then he has time for his big forand on Clay doesn't it's kind of in the middle there where he doesn't have as much time and he doesn't get as much out of his balls um on on a hardcourt so you have to give it to to Zev as having the easiest draw um anyway we're going to take rublev over Latka and we're going to take um Gregor over Talon Greek Spore um now I think Talon Greek I did say Gregor is a pretty bad draw um if if we keep looking at it it's only going to get worse but I think from here um this is definitely his easiest match up and one of the easier match ups to pick in the third round I think that tifo is is a better overall player than Ben Shelton and I'm not afraid to say it and I think that that tifo if this if these two match up um right now tifo is in better form than Shelton so I'm going to take tifo and then I'm going to take Joker over poin 15 matches to pick we've already picked 112 I think Center gets through Paul has more weapons but TP you know if he's moving well could definitely give Center a lot of trouble he always gives alcaraz a lot of trouble because of how many balls he gets back and and the guy sometimes Center alar as jokovic you know they're feared by their opponents they they force their opponents to do more with the tennis ball and and TP is not going to play that game you know he's going to even make even more balls than them and make them hit a winner and if Center is not playing playing well or he's having trouble with his hip I definitely think TP could get through that one um Med and Felix Felix finally broke through beat meddev for the first time after losing seven times in a row but that was on Clay medvedev's least favorite surface and I know medv is not playing well but I think that medev would still win this match up because it's a great match up for him he's in Felix's head still he knows how to beat him and I think he gets through that one then alarz who also has a quite an easy draw will get through mahot and he'll play deonar in the quarterfinals um rude bartini man I just I just worry about picking bartini to get this far I definitely think that he is a a top eight player in the world but physically can he play this many matches in a row in a grand slam I don't know um I think he might cumb to the pressure and lose to Casper Roode here um but again I don't like Casper on a hard court so for the sake of the video I'm going to take Matteo bartini then Zev to beat Runa I think rather easily again Zev is just cruising through this draw um and I I think that grigor beats rublev now Andre rublev he's played some fantastic tennis lately but grigor over the last 12 months is is the exact type of player that can trouble Andre rublev you know he has a good serve he's not going to get broken much he can get a lot of balls back in with the slice make rublev volley super athletic and grigor just over the last 12 months has been really solid I think grigor gets it there and moves on to the quarters and so I think that Francis tifo can kind of do the the thing he did against Nadal you know Nadal is not in great form heading in to that US Open two years ago and Tifa beat him in the round of 16 in this bottom quarter um I I think jokovic wins this but tifo could definitely do something like that um I just don't think Francis is playing as well as he was in 2022 and jokovic is in slightly better form than ad do was but jokovic not playing any hard Court matches leading up you wonder where his motivation is how his physicality is um it it he could he could lose here then Yanik Center and Daniel meddev um I think yanic barely but I I don't know at this point I I think Carlos definitely gets past Alex deonar there um and I think that Zev is going to beat bartini I think bartini will be physically cooked by this by this point of time um if he makes it to the quarterfinal and I think Z he's going to be fresh he's going to win a lot of matches very quickly and I think that Novak and grigor I mean grigor could really trouble Novak you know grigor beat him in Paris and and I I have a lot of confidence that grigor can beat him here as well I think the Joker wins in five sets but then I'm going to say the Joker is cooked by then and I think Zev who who's beaten the Joker in a big tournament in the Olympics um has I don't think he's beaten him in a grand slam or or a major before but he definitely I think is growing in confidence with this serve he played so well against CER um barely lost that one I think that jokovic is worse than CER right now I think zif can get over the line and get to his first Grand Slam final and I think he plays Carlos alarz it and I think Center also physically by this time is not going to be great Center has a a tougher draw than alarz no doubt um it could be meddev and alcarez and you don't know how CER is with the hip and and that's quite concerning and alcarez coming off a loss in um in in Cincinnati you know alcarez I've never seen him get that mad for sure he's going to be fired up to win this Us open so we have alcarez verev in the final we saw this in the French Open final I think the the gap on a hard court between Zev and alcarez is about the same as a as the gap on a clay Court I think alcaraz is just a set better than than than Zan he has more variation can do more is more aggressive is almost more consistent from the ground you'd say z z has the biggest weakness in in the match with his forehand and he's also been double faulting a little bit as Sasha so I think that Carlos alarz gets it done is the US Open Champion once again and wins three out of the four majors this year capping off a great season and yeah we're going to have Carlos alcarez as our winner so let me know what
