who are we talking about Gabrielle or Alfie both I really thought that I could move on from them but they both mean so much to me for different reasons and and now you actually have to choose so as the season starts out Emily's still kind of torn between the two men in her life but then in the Masquerade episode she makes a decision so what makes Gabrielle the right guy for her at this time you know they've wanted to give it a go for so long and this is the opportunity that feels right are we still Anna and David can it just be us there's more cards on the table there's been more honesty and more communication than ever and Emily is starting to I think really lean into thinking less and feeling more and making a choice and being okay with there being consequences as opposed to trying to plan out every scenario and exit strategy so I I enjoyed playing her this year being a bit more decisive and then vulnerable at the same time by this point in the show Alfie had decided not to be with Emily Emily is with no one at this point and I think she felt like in a way that the way was clear for Emily and Gabrielle I think the Masquerade allows them you know you know ironically to drop their masks with each other even though they're wearing a mask it allows them just a moment one moment that we haven't seen on the series for so long just for the two of them to sort of like disappear and come together and I think we have that amazing moment while they're dancing where the world around them just disappears they're just symbolizing how they finally find their way back to each other at That masquerade ball Lucas were you like getting antsy for them to get together and how does it feel to finally be playing them in a relationship after several seasons of will they won't they it it it felt really nice uh because it takes us like four to five months to to shoot the show and so when you're in character for that long in a heartbreak it's at the end of the season you feel like you've been through a heartbreak so um it felt nice to reconnect to that you know proactive energetic uh uh positive side of their relationship from my point of view when I'm in in Gabrielle's skin it makes sense because their connection is is beyond what's reasonable or what's intellectual it's just it's chemical from the second uh Gabriel opened the door so you know sometimes you you can't fight uh you can't fight um what's organic I was just always asking Darren like when are they going to make a choice what's going to happen how's it going to happen what I like is that it's not like the typical relationship like because there's still this kind of Romeo and Juliet of it all where they can be but they can't be because of logistics the way that you know obviously Kami and there's Sophia and I mean there's a lot of players at play and so it makes it tricky but it makes it comical it makes it romantic uh and it makes it an ongoing you know love triangle of sorts because she she does still have feelings in existence for Alfie but she's making the choice to be with Gabrielle so there's just a lot of things happening at one time um but it was nice to play them in a new way like being able to actually have conversations that they haven't had before was was important do you think she picked the right guy leaving with Gabrielle gosh I think think when you leave with your heart you leave with your head I think it leaves space for um for a little bit of confusion here and there but um did she made the right choice I think she made the choice that was right for her at the time I don't I was actually kind of pissed when I saw that well they had this amazing dance number I was like as with this little funky fun back because like I'm so team whatever she wants to you know whatever feels right at the moment but I think it's because I didn't really understand like cuz I came to filming late too you like I didn't quite understand like that Alfie came all the way to roll on Gros and did that and he like didn't like he could have really just like let left her high and dry and I just think that that was a quick turnar around to be like you know what never mind yeah so for me watching it as a viewer I was kind of like really but I should never have let you go I made a huge mistake wait you're not oh uh you thought I was Emily and we don't see him after that episode so what is he up to how's he feeling he's on the men he's on the men yeah luckily he doesn't live in the same apartment building as everyone else so he's definitely around in Paris and like working and thriving or trying to get over Emily but like he's just not running into everyone in the hallway [Music]
