on well here's the national average what we got here is all of the recent major polls nationally what is the sort of composit when you average them together Harris with a three-point Advantage nationally over Donald Trump now if you're a Democrat the good news besides the fact that you're ahead is that's an improvement for Democrats from where things were before Harris became the candidate Joe Biden almost all year was trailing Donald Trump so that's changed Harris ahead by a few points there now if you're a republican what you can take from here is this is not unfamiliar territory for Donald Trump take a look here at the last two elections 2020 2016 the polling at this point coming out of Labor Day beginning the fall rush in 2016 Hillary Clinton LED on average by Five Points of course Donald Trump won in 2016 and Joe Biden had an even bigger lead on average Labor Day 2020 Donald Trump didn't win that election but certainly in the Electoral College he came this close to doing so Anna so Trump has run from behind before certainly and what kind of electoral college paths are there then yes so let's take a look pardon me I love the road to 270 map and now we get to use it pretty much every day between now and the election seven key Battleground States they are in Gray here six of these seven states already went for Joe Biden in 2020 Democrats are trying to hold on to those the seventh is North Carolina that went for Trump in 20 that's the state where Republicans are playing defense on this list now if you take a look at the paths the easiest path for each candidate it will start with kamla Harris all of the State polling is very tight but the the best polling relatively speaking for Harris and the Democrats has been in talk about them all the time these Great Lake States Big 10 states whatever you want to call them Wisconsin Michigan and Pennsyvania now if Harris could win those three states just for the sake of argument turn them blue there exactly 270 electoral votes for her now if she slips up Pennsylvania in particular is one Republicans of these think they have a a good shot at here let's say she were to slip up Harris did and lost Pennsylvania Pennsylvania is the biggest of all the swing States 19 electoral votes Harris would have to compensate by winning at least two from the Sun Belt here and for Trump's easiest path quickly here it's to get Pennsylvania it's to hold North Carolina like he did in 20 and it's to win back Georgia which he very narrowly lost that would get him to exactly the magic number 53% of the people this poll view Harris is qualified to be president compared to 47% for Trump meanwhile the gender gap has widened vice president Harris now leads by 13 points among women that's up from six points pre-convention Donald Trump is up five among men 54 to 41 for an 18o Gap there Joe so the cam Harris campaign is just despite the fact that people like Fox and others are trying to criticize it clearly is hitting home runs the latest poll figures are incredible bearing in mind her campaign is still in its early threshold pervade the Republican Party since the onset of the campaign it is a complete lie although it is taken by many uh Republican follows followers and magga voters whole cloth they just take it they think it actually happens because it's said enough and it's echoed enough on different right-wing NE uh networks it's not corrected um the bigger issue is that all of his different answers is what Trump does it confuses people nobody really knows where he stands and ultimately nothing matters it's a bigger part of some would say some dangerous Trends toward fascism in this country but for this election could the lies work yeah it's certainly more of the fir hood of falsehood strategy we've seen from Trump for a number of years now but it's also reflective of how his campaign is frankly panicking about the abortion issue uh you know I have talked to those in Trump World who have said the former president himself has acknowledged privately that he thinks abortion could be the biggest problem his campaign faces uh this November uh we know that though publicly he's tried to downplay it privately advisers are worried about where this stands hence the the remarkable flipflops in the last week about Trump here as he's trying to be pinned down about where he stands with this Florida abortion regulation and you know vice president Harris received some criticism last week after that CNN interview saying she had changed her position on a few things there were slight modulations but Trump deserves that sort of scrutiny times 10 for how he seems to flip-flop on things like this abortion seemly every day depending who he's talking to depending on the latest poll he has seen and and and on polls that we should note it seems like Harris got her convention bounce pre-convention because Democrats were so excited about the change in the ticket that's when the burst of energy come came uh and caddy we are see though a few other polls have shown a little little upticks for her ever since and also that 5246 that's outside the margin of error we haven't been able to say that a lot uh this campaign because the race is so tight it does seem like though close Harris has momentum and the abortion issue is a big part of it I love the idea of a pre-convention bounce that's what we should all be looking for in future we have a pre show Round of Applause as well um look I think you know some of the Democrats that I've spoken to over the course of this weekend have expressed concern that the polls have not gone as far ahead for Harris as they might have expected given the enormous amount of fundraising that huge burst of enthusiasm in August and a very successful convention and they had hoped that she would be perhaps more convincingly ahead particularly in the swing soats now if you have to think that because of the Republicans electoral majority she needs to be six points ahead in terms of the popular vote nationally she's just about there so now all the focus is going to be on those swing States abortion being a main issue for women um coming up ahead of immigration and the economy is incredibly important women decide elections in America they vote in bigger numbers in America but if it's also going to be an election about economy and immigration he still has an advantage on that so I think the Harris campaign is right to stress as it did over the course of this weekend in in Pittsburgh that they go into this as The Underdogs that's the best way for them to approach the last few weeks and M you tell on this but it has to be said again the idea that Donald The Circle of Life eventually closes on all things for impetus americanus the time for prowling will soon be at an end it was to be his final hunt his prey older weaker unable to fight back the best kind or so he thought but impetus americanus made a mistake he is slow he is lost his imagined strengths are but weaknesses and he's alone his mate his Cubs already eyeing new Greener lands his pack is flimsy and overmatched his lieutenants are weak and timid the decades Creek in his bones the humiliations fester in every fold of soft bloated skin and as he Rambles and wanders among the fields no longer on the trail he reeks of fear he's afraid of the conflict of what comes next he starts to realize it is not his last time hunt impetus americanus is the hunted he is the prey the apex predator is approaching preparing to devour it it is Mother Nature's design that the circle of life eventually and where it really matters in the marginals and in the swing States just take Michigan this is why you see so much nonsense by the way which has being shared and spread by uh Trump and Co because they are they're on a slippery pole they really are and they think that some of the crap um Don shiy pants and JD van have been coming out with just in the last few days is going to put the swingometer the other way I can't see it today's a perfect example a remarkable contrast candidates I mean I actually love this kind of holiday Labor Day setup that we're looking at between Harris and Trump first the Optics of of Donald Trump sitting like little Richie Rich or I guess old Richie Rich at the golf club in Palm Beach that he owns not just that he's a member of that he owns he's sitting there by himself ringing his Bell for Diet Coke vice president Harris is out there with rockus crowds of workingclass Voters across the country and the other contrast that we seem to often lose in the Trump years is that there actually are policies let me just say my father Donald's older brother was in Ry at Lei University and then voluntarily went into the Air National Guard um the only one in the Trump family to ever serve in fact I had the honor of using his trunk his army trunk throughout my summer camp Des uh everything about him and and you could we spoke the last time we were here about how I had the the honor of meeting Senator McCain you know a word that has been cheapened over the years but I said to my kids Andrea Christopher who were there and my wife Lisa this is a genuine hero okay let's make no mistake about it the fact that Donald called him in essence a loser uh I I don't get it but you go anyone who is disabled or anyone who he deems lesser than him is a loser uh which uh okay that's just the way is that ain't going to change why do you think people in the military support him I have no idea and uh I know many people who were in the military and I had the the pleasure of speaking uh on an interview with uh National Defense radio which goes out to the armed services and I told the truth I basically told this story and I said he just doesn't give a about them he just doesn't uh it's it's the great Godfather too one of the last scenes when Sunny says country ain't your blood kid and Michael Corino says no I don't believe that Donald believes in Donald this guy has made it clear how he stands he's sitting down at Mara Lago after he got elected president and this was his exact quote he's talking to a bunch of folks at Mar Lago you're rich as hell and we're going to give you a tax cut at the same time he was telling workers they get paid too much already that's who this guy is you tell me who in Wisconsin is sitting around saying damn I wish they'd give billionaires tax cuts and screw me over damn I wish they'd take my health care away I wish they'd underfund my public school I wish they would make my job more difficult and more dangerous and then at the end of the day I wish they'd make me work till I'm 75 years old no one's saying that no one's asking for that agenda what they're asking for is to be treated fairly with dignity that's what we have look
