[Music] coming at you with another Philadelphia Eagles now on this Wednesday I'm Chase senior appreciate all of you for hanging out here with us and there's a lot to get to here on today's show Philadelphia making even more roster moves we're going to get to the latest injury report for the birds and we have some pertinent very important Eagles Jersey news so let's start off there quinan Mitchell started off his Eagles career rocking the number 30 as a defensive back in general the number 30 is just not a good number it doesn't look good it's not really attractive to the eye well the good news is as you can see here to my right Quin and Mitchell practicing for Philadelphia today he has changed that jersey number from 30 to the number 27 that is the jersey number that he wore at Toledo when he put together marvelous career the last two years he climbed up draft boards had 44 pass breakups Nick Sabin fun story here wanted quinan Mitchell to go to Alabama but Mitchell felt as though he would be betraying his coaches and his teammates at Toledo so he elected to stay there where he became a star and a first round pick and continue playing in the Mac over the SEC and the number 27 just suits him a little bit better the same cannot be said for Jan doson ladies and gentlemen and look jersey numbers are very important doson will wear number 87 with Philadelphia that's a pretty standard wide receiver number but for him I think it's actually a downgrade because with the Washington commanders he wore the number one that is a slick looking jersey number for a weapon especially a wide receiver when he played his college ball at pen state had an opportunity to scout him there and cover him there during my previous job he wore the number five that's another really good number for a weapon and a wide receiver now he goes to the number 87 I'm going to say that's a downgrade for him and it's an upgrade for quinan Mitchell with that we pop up this very important poll question which jersey number would you wear if you were on a football team and you had your choice of jersey number for me growing up I was a huge Allen Iverson fan I Lov the number three but Brian Dawkins he's been the background of my phone for years the number 20 is good but I think that I would try to play quarterback the number three for a quarterback not really sure how I feel about it anyway Eagles injury news here let's get to that offensive lineman Tyler Steen he suffered from a couple of ankle injuries during training camp and in the preseason he did return to practice today as the Eagles are inside the bubble at the Nova Care complex it's been very hot in Philadelphia of late guard Trevor Keegan who made the initial 53 man roster as a rookie he also practiced put together a good training camp in preseason so much so that he was featured on baldi's breakdowns it always goes a long way in you turning some heads and gaining some social media popularity when you're on baldi's breakdowns because Baldi knows ball friend of the show we had him on when we were at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas right here on Eagles now tight end Dallas Gard did not practice not sure what that injury is nor did rookie outside linebacker jayx hunt who was really impressive and it looks as though he's not just going to be a developmental player he could actually potentially get snaps year one and then wide receiver Johnny Wilson still out with the concussion Isaiah Rogers was the newest addition to the Eagles injury report it appeared as though at the start of practice he was not practicing lastly Eagles making some more roster moves and we knew that this was coming right yesterday all teams across the NFL had to cut their rosters from 90 players in the preseason to the designated 53 there was the waiver wire claim deadline which was noon Eastern 9:00 a.m. on the west coast this morning so because of that a lot of teams put together their practice squads Philadelphia up to this point has signed 14 players There are 16 practice squad spots available 17 if you include players as part of the international pathway program Len vakalahi the Australian former rugby player is a part of that and we'll get to him here in just a moment so let's take a look at the Eagles practice squad some surprises and a lot of familiar faes here linebacker Orin Burks was signed this off season as a player who is a very good special teams ace at that linebacker spot can be a rotational linebacker last year started to get a little bit more snaps as a defensive player with the San Francisco 49ers but in the Super Bowl when Dre green law towards Achilles Orin Burks went into the game he was targeted nine times he gave up nine catches nearly a perfect passer rating so his specialty is special teams and I thought that he was going to be scooped up by another team because he can fulfill a role on a lot of teams across the league if it's great news that he can come back to the practice squad I actually thought he looked awesome in the preseason finale against the Minnesota Vikings this coming after he missed all of training camp due to a knee injury big fangio caught his number on a couple of Blitz calls and he look good in the process wide receiver Paris Campbell did not make the initial 53 even though annias Smith went on IR short-term ir and I thought that was going to open up an opportunity for the Speedster to get added to the Eagles initial 53 doesn't happen he was a vested veteran so he didn't have to clear through waivers he comes back to the Eagles practice squad as a quote unquote free agent Ty Davis price Eagles gave him some decent coin when they did sign him to that Futures deal good running back and I think he's a very talented Runner but the eagles only went with three RBS on their initial 53 which is why Ty Davis price was on the outside looking in we mentioned this earlier Philadelphia bringing back Nick Gates he's probably going to be the top backup interior offensive lineman week one offensive line depth is an issue for Philadelphia this year when it hasn't been in years past if the Eagles suffer injuries along that offensive line things could unravel a little bit I'm a little bit worried Philadelphia also bringing in will Greer as part of the practice squad he barely played at all throughout the preseason but Kell Moore knows him well from the Chargers and the Cowboys next page here defensive tackle Gabe Hall udfa DT out of Baylor did some okay things throughout training camp and in the preseason maybe a developmental player who comes back to the taxi Squad tight end EJ Jenkins if the Eagles held on to three tight ends on the initial 53 I thought he should have been the player that they brought back Albert OKO aanam had to undergo core muscle surgery so he too on IR late round pick Dylan McMahon out of NC State can play guard can play center also signed to the Eagles practice squad after not making the initial 53 he passed through waivers a new name here is wide receiver Marcus rosem me Jack Saint Eagles adding him to the practice squad safety Andre Sam he played his college ball at LSU kind of slow in the pre-draft process ran like a 4647 but plays with some physicality linebacker Brandon Smith he's been up and down between the Eagles active roster practice squad on the practice squad off the practice squad he got beat a couple of times in coverage throughout the preseason more of a special teams player Kaden Sterns has some familiarity with Vic fangio and the Denver Broncos were very high on him a few years ago him and Justin Simmons figured to be the safety tandem for Denver for many years to come and when Simmons got hurt a few years ago K Stern filled in and he played really good football unfortunately for him back-to-back years in which he has suffered season ending injuries to his hip one year to his knee the next next but that's a player who when he's on the field has some ball skills and some pretty good traits Jack stole welcome back I saw a great tweet I think from rck who's a great follow on X and Instagram just a phenomenal Eagles fan who has a lot of humor on social media and he put something out on X something along the lines of how Jack Stole was given to the New York Giants as a plant to learn their playbooks he was there throughout the the offseason the spring training camp preseason now he comes back to Philadelphia job well done that's a player who hoe Roseman and Nick serani like they trust he's a good blocking tight end so if the Eagles Elevate another tight end on game day to have three if they want to go run heavy Jack sto could be that guy over EJ Jenkins and then the aforementioned Laken vakalahi the international exemption here as part of the international pathway program such a raw Prospect who like Jordan myada rugby background from Down Under good day mate Australia found by this Philadelphia organization now Jordan milato was drafted in the seventh round lean vakalahi signed by way of kind of NFL free agency he does not count toward those 16 practice squad spots it's just a way for the National Football League to try to bring in and attract and develop more International Players he did get into the game late against Minnesota didn't look good but keep in mind he's barely played any football and then there's been some chatter that the Eagles are bringing back offensive lineman Brett Toth so we'll certainly see on that front that would be the 15th Edition to this Eagles practice
