what actually propelled me to get on stage I was dating someone who just started doing comedy himself I went to all these shows with him the comedians there they're all so nice they keep asking me like hey when are you going to go up I'm like oh no I don't want it that's not my thing like I don't like public speaking I'm very like quiet and shy I think you know being in that environment kind of like stirred something in my brain because I was actually sitting in a church with my family where I came up with my very first joke I wrote it down as soon as I got home I I showed my uh boyfriend at the time and he's like oh this is good but I still didn't want to perform it cuz I was like I said I don't like public speaking very shy introverted and then I saw another comedian go up comedian's girlfriend she went up for the first time and that inspired me to go up and I I did it I printed out my jokes and I read it straight from the paper I have video footage of it I'm like shaking like I yeah I'm just like reading straight off the my two friends were in the front I got a good response I'm not sure if it's because I was this person's girlfriend so everyone was extra supportive but as soon as I got that first laugh like that oh as soon as you get the first laugh like I feel it just it made me feel so good I've never had anyone just like looking at me and like cheering me on that made me feel very validated if I'm being yeah
