J love please be [Music] okay hello everybody Welcome to the dropback also known as the Jordan love is injured so I'm going to be depressed podcast um last night the Packers played the Eagles in Brazil and we're going to be giving a quick overview of the game I really want to talk about about the game but I really can't get my mind off Jordan love so once information comes out about Jordan love what happened a video will be posted to me it sadly looks like an acl's hair but I'm just hoping for the best we'll see so starting with one of the main issues of last night and this I think impacted both teams play a lot the field conditions were not very good um a lot of people were slipping all over the place uh because we're playing in Brazil obviously and these conditions were practically playing on a slip and slide and you just can't let professional football players be going to places like this to play professional football because it's going to lead to injuries and you know that happened to Jordan love but um yeah that's the main reason why there was so many problems last night that's why the defense didn't play good because whenever a tackle needed to be made I saw multiple times with jier and Quay Eric Stokes whenever a tackle needed to be made uh they slipped ridiculously bad so you know if you had good studded spikes you would be just fine on the field but some of them who didn't have like who weren't wearing certain cleats struggled so with those field conditions I feel like that's a huge huge problem the last night so getting more into the defense they the I thought the defense was not terrible um I think they definitely could have played better but I think it's an overreaction about the defense we did give up 422 yards but they the Eagles gave up 423 so the only thing with me about this is all the slipping I feel like made it harder for defenses to make plays and um I feel like the reason the defense had to do their job a little bit more because the Packers wouldn't put up points based off of the turnovers they were getting they had three turnovers there was a pick to start the game by Xavier McKenna and there was a fumble recovery by Devonte Wyatt those were both in Eagles territory and then jier got a pick in the end zone uh off of Jaylen Herz so and I believe we only got six points combined off of all those turnovers so it's just not ideal you're not going to going to put up points that way you're not going to win games that way you need to be able to convert on those uh gifts pretty much and the other problem was a lot a lot a lot of penalties ref ball was there it was certainly there but uh towards the end of the game the refs got really bad started calling stuff that you know shouldn't be called but it doesn't shy away from that we needed to well these guys needed to play better they needed to score points with the gifts that we were given and clean up the sloppy play because there was even some sloppy defense I mean sorry there's some sloppy play on offense and defense with all the penalties we were getting there were some that were actual penalties and it was killing us killing us killing us killing us so they got a clean that up it's the first game so I'm not going to overreact the only thing that is seriously putting this season in balance is Jordan Love Now Josh Jacobs looked very good last night uh toward in the second half he started picking it up started running well manual Wilson also looked very good and then obviously Jaden Reed was the guy last night had two touchdowns and over a 100 yards combined just a big day for Reed uh but Davian Wick struggled last night had a lot of drops and Jordan love wasn't really making his throws he wasn't hitting guys where they were which you know makes it hard to produce offense when you're being inaccurate but he was dealing with an injury throughout the game and then of course he had to get injured so obviously that wasn't good Edan Cooper looked very good last night for the couple of snaps that he played very fast easily getting to the guy but I won't say that about Quay Walker he struggled with his tackles a lot last night Gary had a sack Nixon had a sack the defense didn't play bad it's just we can't play sloppy because when we play sloppy and get so many penalties called on we're giving the other team free free passes and then we're also hurting ourselves at the same time so it's not I'm not going to overreact they just got to play more undis they got to play more disciplined football and uh this team will be perfectly fine if Jordan love is fine but they got to clean it up with the penalties and this team's got to go down the field and actually score points when it matters and my last thing I'm going to talk about is BR nerson you know had a pretty solid game he did miss the 40 yard but you know it's his first game so I'm not going to get all over him just yet he's drilling ones in warm-ups and stuff like that so I'm not concerned he just needs um I feel like the field conditions also could have played into that last night for him too so you know this is the game I'm not really going to harp on too much I'm not too concerned we just got to play smarter football uh less penalties and making more off of our opportunities so 29 to 34 Eagles win the Packers are now 0 and one so next week we will be facing the Colts at home at 1:00 so I'll be going live for that game obviously and um you know let's hope Jordan love is okay I will get a video out later once the news comes out and you know just got to hope
