BBC forced to remove MIRIAM MARGOLYES' three-word 'vulgar' comment from Radio 4 show.

the BBC has pulled a controversial remark made by Miriam margal on the radio after she branded a Charles Dickens character Jewish and vile on air the Jewish actress 83 was discussing her earliest experiences with the novelist during her Edinburgh Fringe run of margal and Dickens the best bits in which he brings to life the most colorful and iconic characters from his novels the comment came when the Harry Potter stared the first Dickens character that ever scared her in a conversation with front row host Kirsty work during the interview at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival BBC Radio 4 presenter Kirsty quizzed the ba to award-winning actress about her solo performance before inquiring which dickens's character had initially captured Miriam's imagination as a youngster to this Miriam replied oh Fagan without question Jewish and vile I didn't know Jews Like The Den sadly I do know despite eliciting laughter from the audience the BBC decided to remove the comment from the broadcast a spokesperson for the BBC said this was an unexpected comment made during a live broadcast which should have been challenged at the time dot we have taken Swift action to remove it from the program and it is no longer available dott it comes after Miriam was left in shock during the final episode of her BBC 2 Series a new Australian Adventure upon hearing a tale that appalled her do ENC counted 14-year-old Abby who has bravely initiated the rainbow shoua project which offers support to individuals facing homophobia the teenager who is openly queer discussed the harrowing backlash she faced including being bullied at school and receiving death threats do Abby shared with Miriam it made me feel terrified and every part of Pride that I had inside myself quickly faded do moved Miriam embraced her responding that's awful I can't bear that dead just pathetic and you will not give up your project you are you and you are changing the world and you're magnificent don't she further inspired Abby adding what you have to face is that you have courage and in that courage you forged an idea which is going to give courage to other people dot after leaving aby's home Miriam was visibly touched by the teen story as she remarked to the camera I feel great sadness actually and anger because Abby told me something about this sweet town that I had not expected she's been bullied so some things haven't changed there are stupid little bullies here I was appalled by her story and made a personal decision to reach out to her school to stop this issue I just hope things get better
