Darren Bent BELIEVES Lee Carsley Is A GREAT FIT For The England Job After Gareth Southgate's Exit 😱🚨

we're going to start off with England chat because some of the biggest names in World football have been linked to the England job since GTH Southgate resigned after the Euros but for now what honestly you and everyone who written that as horrible what what you going to say some of the biggest but for now I think it's fair to say Le is not one of the biggest names and some of the biggest hly I know I know he listens as well sorry that's not out of order he would Lee would tell you that he's not one of the biggest names in World football to remind everyone of that what it's not a reminder it's just a link I didn't write it he listens as well I know that for a fact oh good okay maybe we find him I haven't said anything negative about the fell he's not one of the biggest names yeah see that's your problem right you've interrupted me what's coming up might be nice and You' you've stopped that Andy I'll start again apologize I'll start again now some of the biggest names in World football have been linked to the England job since G Southgate resigned after the Euros one of the biggest Lee carsley reportedly set to take over as England manager on a temporary basis I think it's very likely that he takes it on an interim basis really privileged to be the under 21's coach I know it's a prestigious position he had some great coaches that have coached the team in the past so hopefully I can continue that LE cardley now to be honest he's not a big name I don't even know a lot about him it'll be kind of the same path that GTH Southgate took there's been a real push back from inam fans uh a at the idea of appointing the under 21 coach which of course is what they did when G Southgate got the job and B because carsley is not English no doubt that we've got um you know excellent players but it's really important for me that they they they play with that right attitude yes reports suggest that England under 21 manager League C set to take over his Three Lions boss on an interim basis the former Premier League midfielder will take charge of England's next two Nations League games in September against Ireland and Finland Ireland is the 7th of September Finland is the 10th do you know him is he a friend of yours he's not a friend of mine no okay um you know he listens to the show though right okay how do you know that cuz someone told me okay who told you that I'm not tell why you trying to reveal my sources I can't tell you that oh okay uh what do what do you make of of him I mean it's not just us to understand it it's sort of out there everyone's talking about the fact that he has got that gig now for at least the next two games what what do you make of a we before we talk about Lee what do you make of the fact that we will get an interim manager before the manager is appointed bit him or someone else I.E what do you make of the fact the fa haven't made their mind up yet um well I guess the it almost makes a little bit of sense because the fa saw how the last kind of under 21 manager going into the national team it went out of course you you're there to win trophies and I think there was more than enough occasions where Gareth could have won something but in terms of Bridging the Gap between the the fans the supporters the press and the national team he's he brought everyone back together didn't he he made us all believe in the national team again um so I think that the fa I think would be a little bit silly and naive not to look at what G sgate done and goes you know what we got close maybe Lee Carley is the next one again he comes off the back of winning the Euros as well with the other 21s which he won last year um so he has tasted success at England Youth Level it's always difficult the England national team job because unless you win something it's always class as failure which is nuts it's nuts that's and you think about some of the Power Nations out there it's hard to win anything um are there better managers out there yet but you got to be realistic I mean if you unless you're going to go and get someone like a what I don't want to see is England go and get a manager that's by name is top top draw but is on the decline can you name him or not not really like like KS obviously not that he's still trajectories going upwards you got pep these guys potina would you put him on that list yeah I mean PO is almost just like they're floating but I do like potina I think he talks well I think he comes across really really well I think the public would like him um but he got give him a chance I guess I mean G if you look at G when he was in charge I mean his first two games I think his first was it first four games to be fair he beats mot draws IIA beat Scotland then draws with Spain everyone went okay got the job he was in at first and the rest is kind of History I know I know we should have won at least one major trophy but when you look at G southgate's time yes the bottom line is he didn't win anything but at one point everyone was like you know what this is a master tro from the fa like we're close H how different do you think running a football team day to-day is compared to being the England manager yeah it's a lot harder but if I think you're running a team day day today not even so much harder actually I get the feeling it's a totally different job yeah because you don't get to see the players every single day you don't see the improvements they're making a lot of it's out of your control isn't it really effectively so if I mean I'm not a manager of course you know that but I would I I would I would prefer to be a club manager where it's day to-day like for a sustain amount of time when the England job comes up maybe later on but I mean for Lee carsley this is an opportunity for lifetime so I can understand why I mean if they offer him the job he has to take it yeah of course I know he's interim but even if they go listen we want you for the next two years oh my goodness have to take it okay uh from a fans perspective that's obviously what we're asking 0371 7234 what would they say will they be underwhelmed by this or not yeah maybe I mean I'm sure they were underwhelmed when it was G but I think you have to be clever about it and go right let's be honest who's out there who's realistically can get so if you're not going to get klopp pep angelotti these these type of managers don't don't get second level don't don't get top top name but on the way down okay you what I mean if you can't get the the big boys then you've got to be clever about it don't go play someone a king's Ransom and then go who don't really have any affiliation with the country doesn't really care clearly see with g s he cared like maybe a little bit too much you what I mean if Lee Carley's there I know is maybe not the biggest in names as you said but I'd rather maybe see that okay than go and get any random you know what I mean or something uh 03 0371 don't worry T be available soon I'd wait for him because V about get that job who would you rather have ten or Le Carley I'd rather have you than ten you've got me for the next three hour Owen joins us hello Owen how are you hello you loving the show lad thank you man what what do you can can you see what I'm wearing are you near a YouTube channel thingy no I'm I'm currently in the in the van I'm down I'll ask you right I've got a croid like no no Owen you know what where Wally look like don't you his outfit yeah the red and white one he's wearing exactly that yeah I've got a red and white St top one with a called your jacket over it it's a no for me right no one ask you anyway get with ow uh no I'm I'm Lee Carley in personally um is he the best manager um no but is he the best fit most likely he's he's won stuff well wa last year with the uh younger youth side you'll know most of the players that have come through the youth ranks um Spain's coach has managed two or three senior games and he's just won the Euro so it isn't always the best managers it's just who's the best fit for the job and I think he is one of the best fits if not the best fit for the England job do you know what and oh you make a good point because it might almost set a precedent as well um because Spain obviously do it I know Barcelona do it in terms of their managers right but if if the F and done it yeah real progress you see G Southgate I know before that we had the Capell and sens and and Steve McLaren things but G Southgate with how well he's done and I get it people screaming at the radio he didn't win anything I get that but you look what he did and how close we did get then Lee Cary then whoever's after Lee Cary the under 21 like a almost a pathway rather than scrambling at the end of every at the end of every manager 10 yard oh who should we get who should we get unless you're going get the very best like a pep then why so the name you talking about earlier you couldn't think of one right yeah well I I guess you're thinking of someone like Graham Potter yeah I mean Graham maybe if they've got plans to put Graham in charge of England at some point yeah maybe go and give him the under 21 job I mean I agree with that he might go no but i' would rather have someone unless you're getting a top top name I'd rather have someone that's involved with the setup now yes I agree with that Nick saaan hello Nick all guys great show as always thank you man you right well yeah very well thank you very well up the Villa what would you like to say about V random up the Villa up up just what just what you've been saying and what that other caller said I would give it Lee carsley if you look at the Spy model how many of press and pundits when they give this the job to the Spanish guy must have been thinking who's this the 21s you build a system you get someone else in place then takes over from carsley for the 21s all the under 21s under 17 should be playing the same system so rather when there's a progress and that next manager steps up players know the system know the manager should hopefully flow pretty pretty straightforward do you know what Nick and I think it's a good point and the more I'm thinking about it the more it makes a lot of sense I get it if someone like a pep turns around next season and goes I want the England job I get it yeah that that makes sense right yeah but other than that yeah okay Bill's next up hello Bill good afternoon boys good show as always thank you Bill make it better that's a lot of pressure in it no pressure no pressure what would you like to say I just I think the carsley um uh uh giving him the job at the moment is is a good idea see what he's made of and then you know the minute one of the big guys who we're really after comes available we'll see him in and get them because uh the one thing you got to remember with Pep Guardiola he'll never be the manager of Spain he's a catalonian he doesn't see himself as Spanish he's a catalonian so he'll never managed so then he's he's he's looking around for what you know what top jobs in International Football could I make a name for myself done in Brazil because they V been on the decline for a long time hav they I mean Brazil don't haven't done anything for a long time they got mullered in their own country and you got England ain't won anything what 60 years now 60 60 odd years Jo Bill and you make a good point with the whole pep thing and you're right about the whole Spain Catalonia but I almost feel like England are like on the cusp I mean you got to two Euro finals like we're closer than we've ever been since' 66 we as close as we ever have winning something is who can just tip you over that line Bill let me ask you um you Wayne Rooney is your manager right that's correct are you are you excited about the season ahead well the boy's got a very very good chance he's you know he's coming into a terrific Club that's terrifically set up they got a way of playing football and if he don't make it here he ain't no manager so it's as simple as that okay you know what I mean what Shaker done after um uh the guy who went to Preston They carried on the same thing oh Ryan Ryan low that's right yeah and i' to be honest with you scho marer is really really big shoes to feel really big shoes to feel you know what he done down year was terrific you know and he took a kick in in the playoffs and he at home lost four five mil and he come back the next season even stronger and better I think it' be an exciting season for you with Wayne Rooney in charge listen Bill thanks for coming on have a great day and you buddy cheers thanks pth that's could be fascinating today yeah it will be do you know what with the England managers well at least if that was what they wanted to do like that kind of pathway at least people know then what's happening next rather than everyone's like that and it's a good time to come in isn't it Yeah you sort of feel there's a lot of young players that haven't even reach their Peak yet do you think every England manager should get one EUR in one World Cup that's a great question you what I mean what like one cycle of both no I think there should be a oh I don't know I was going to say Min minimum requir but then you need time right yeah that's why I say one world maybe maybe it's not a bad idea talk sport
