Fresh faces propel Baylor football past Tarleton State in season opener, 45-3

[Music] Baylor kicked off the season with a dominant 45-3 win over Charlton state it was a great performance by the Bears who are looking to bounce back from a disastrous 3 and9 season last year to have u a lot of our transfers come in and under bright lights and um in the big city you know and go out and make plays and and uh consistently make plays and bring a a Swagger and all of it to the team that was cool to see cuz it's been like that in practice and so to get that um over across the bridge into mlan uh when it matters most that was cool to see too the Bears offense got off to a fast start six-year transfer quarterback decoin Finn showcased his Mobility to start the game with a 39 yd touchdown run on the first drive of the game Finn was 14 for 22 on the night throwing for 192 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions with strong efforts from running backs Richard Ree and Dawson Pendergrass who rush for a combined 140 yards with Pendergrass adding a touchdown wide receivers ketron Jackson and Ashton Hawkins both had a touchdown a piece I say you know it set a good tone you know just by getting that win and like I said knowing all the athletes you got on the team especially that we got speed good wide receivers good running backs all over good quarterback good o line they come out good the Bears defense flew around the field and limited Texan quarterback Daniel Greek to 80% passing RS Junior linebacker Keaton Thomas had a pick six in the first quarter to give the Bears a 21 to nothing lead six-year linebacker Garmin Randolph and retri Senior defensive lineman Trevon my I each had a sack the only points on the night for the Texans came on a 34 yard field goal in the third quarter me and Keen me and him close so just seeing him go out there you know and get a pick was amazing and he said before the game even started he was like man I just want to pick so just seeing him do that was amazing with the win the Bears are 1 and0 they'll face a tough challenge next week as Baylor will travel to Salt Lake City to take on 12th rank Utah for lar TV news from mlan Stadium I'm Aiden fam [Music] [Music]
