Intro [Music] it's the Matt sha and Jared SMA of draft shars.com here to talk through week one waivers there are some leagues that are still drafting but for most of us the draft is behind and we are switching over to regular season mode and for many people this means the first League waiver run of the Season not everybody but many leagues have that one waiver run really you shouldn't be doing a lot at this point right we haven't had many impct Act full injuries it's not time to start second guessing your lineup or anything but there are some moves to be made this week potentially yeah I mean we're talking minor moves at the end of your bench right swapping out this guy we thought was the Handcuff for a better handcuff running back you know especially if you're I know a lot of drafts were two weekends ago at this point you know a lot has changed in you know two weeks in the NFL so there's definitely ways I think most teams can improve their roster heading into week one even if it's just slightly as always you know we're looking for upside in the drafts we're looking for upside now with our bench stashes especially ahead of any injuries that inevitably will come in the regular season and create a bidding war on waivers if you can stash that guy now then you're in good shape maybe you didn't draft a kicker or defense and now you're looking to pick that up so we're going to talk through some streaming options on this show and every week on the waiver pod and if you're working waivers then you're going to want the free agent finder on draft shars.com it's seriously the biggest time saer effort saver for me throughout the season I play in a bunch of managed leagues still and at various levels of caring there are some leagues where I'm like I doesn't matter I'm in this league because I'm with friends or family members that don't want to let it go and I'll just go on over the weekend make sure that I have all the players I need to you know set a starting lineup others are for significant money and I'm on there trying to make sure that I get my bids in before that waiver deadline in the middle of the week all of them synced the ones I care about the ones I don't care about they're all synced on draft sharks I'm talking f PC sleeper Yahoo my fantasy league ESPN Jared I even added a CBS League this year with idps so that's going to be on there and among those that I'm checking multiple times a week for free agent options yeah I am honestly not sure if I'd play managed leagues anymore if it was not for the free agent finder because the amount of time that you'd have to spend doing waivers for these things would be crazy the free agent finder literally cuts that in in half if not more um so it's it's it's huge super easy to use super intuitive quick look at the best of aable players in your league both for the coming week if you're looking for you know more of a streamer long-term value if you're looking to bolster your bench with some guys with more upside yeah and you can look at rest of season numbers this week's numbers upside lots of different options depending on what you're looking for and always synced to your league so it takes your scoring settings into account now though let's Week 1 streaming QBs move on to some of the guys that you might Target on your free agent finder let's start with week one streamers you don't necessarily want to go second guessing your players that much yet but we'll mention some guys that might sit behind these streaming level players Jared I've got Gino Smith up he's 15th in our week one quarterback rankings he's just 32% rostered on Yahoo and notably we have him ranked ahead of Justin Herbert Dak Prescott Brock pie this week yeah I think Dak and Pie are the two guys where you you might have drafted them as your quarterback one but you could consider sitting them this week um you know Dak Prescott at Cleveland tough matchup Brock py uh home for the Jets even tougher match up pie did just get back Trent Williams who resigned this morning I assume that means he's going to play week one that's huge he might actually climb our rankings a few spots after that we'll see but yeah I I agree Gino Smith strong play this week I think we're just both in on him for the season as a guy who I think we might might be talking about as a spot starter throughout the year you know coming off a quarterback 17 finish Gino last year but he was quarterback five the year before that that was before Jackson Smith and jba even arrived obviously new offensive coordinator for Gino Smith this year Ryan grub who we think is going to deploy you know more of a aggressive downfield passing game and this match up against Denver do you remember how bad that Denver defense was early last season we were starting everyone against that Broncos defense it got better over the second half I think it'll be a bit better this year than it was you know early last season so a really nice opening matchup for Gino Smith and the Seahawks passing game it can't be as bad as it was against the Dolphins in week two of last year but certainly not one to avoid and it's not just us if you look at the Vegas numbers Seattle is implied for 24 points this week that's the ninth highest team total on the Slate so top half of the league is what Vegas is expecting from the Seattle offense right away I think that makes the quarterback a solid play those implied points more than the Jaguars total the Colts and the Packers even though we have all of those quarterbacks ahead of Gino Smith in our rankings and I don't point that out to say we have our quarterbacks out of order I'm just saying that's the kind of upside potential that there is in Seattle's offense this week I would not be surprised if it scores a good number of points and if goo Smith is a top 12 quarterback right away anybody else for you among streaming quarterback options yeah this one's definitely deeper not a guy I would use over pie or even Dak Prescott but I think Baker Mayfield is in a good spot this Washington defense was one we were attacking all last season especially with our passing games and I think it's going to be the case again this year Washington was dead last and adjusted fantasy points allowed quarterbacks last year and really like the offense should be better this year with Jaden Dan which could help these games get even more high scoring so I think Baker Mayfield New offense he's in but a lot of the same weapons obviously with with Godwin and Mike Evans back so I think Mayfield is pretty decent about to have a nice game out of the gate here against this Commander defense yeah and that Washington defense in case anybody forgot dumped montz sweat dumped Chase young last year so they don't have a whole lot going on the edge we'll see if it's any good I'm not betting that it Week 1 streaming TEs will be over to tight end for streaming options and I guess before we get to the names I I want to say I don't love streaming tight end myself I think it can work early in the season especially because we're seeing who are going to be the emergent ones and for me ideally I'm picking up one or two guys seeing what works and then I hope finding somebody that I can just leave in my lineup for most of the Season maybe a couple to pair together if they're lower level performers but my tight end pick here is somebody that I'm hoping will turn into a regular producer and it's Tyler Conlin of the Jets who you've probably heard me talk about if you've been checking out our videos all offseason there's nothing good about his specific matchup this week the 49ers are among the toughest defenses on tight ends but last year they still allowed an 11 catch game to T.J hackinson 10 catches to Trey McBride a six for 53 game to Zack ZZ when he was with the Cardinals and I think that Concklin can fit in that same kind of range all of those guys were short range performers in those games their short- range Targets in general Tyler Conlin has a 9.9 career yards per catch average so that's the range of the field where he's working he's not a threatening player to your defense the Niners are not going to head into this game thinking we have to stop Tyler Conklin if we want to beat the Jets they're gonna think we have to limit Garrett Wilson we have to limit Bree Hall and frankly if Tyler Conklin catches eight balls for 60 yards we're in pretty good shape so I'm gonna go ahead and Chase that if I waited in my draft for a tight end yeah I mean cockin should get off to a hot start here Mike Williams is going to play week one but the Jets have told us he's going to be limited he's kind of on that PRI Hall plan where they're going to ramp him up so for this first month of the Season there's a good chance that ponkan is the Jets number two option early you know right there with Bree Hall is the number you know two3 and the Jets are also four-point underdogs in San Francisco in this game so you could get boosted passing volume so yeah like you said Matt that you know the matchup isn't ideal but just the target bat I think Conlin is you know he's kind of right there probably On The Fringe of the top 12 tight ends in terms of you know projected Targets this week so Jared do you and your sexy Smokey voice there have any other tight end streamers available I got a couple deep ones Colby Parkinson kind of like Concklin could get off to a nice start here he seems pretty much locked in as the Rams lead tight end at least until Tyler Higg get back later this season and this just should be a fun game you know Rams Lions 51 point over under easily highest of the week so Parkinson just a case of a guy that's going to be on the field a lot in a high-scoring football game you always like that and then I think Mike giki is interesting this week as well I mean we'll see if Jamar Chase is even gonna play if Jamar chase ends up not playing this game you're gonna see giki climb our rankings then even beyond that I mean I think that the Bengals slot receiver position is still kind of up in the air right they lose Tyler Boyd we think it's probably going to be Andre doshas for the for the most part but he's still still an unknown you could have Mike aaki you know being a pretty big part of this offense especially early this season the Bengals get the the Patriots this weekend 24.75 Point imply total for the Bengals that's seventh highest on the week yeah gaseki is one that I would hope to roster and not have to use yet while we wait to see just what his playing time looks like because they were using multiple tight ends he has been a lower snapshare guy for at least the past few years so I definitely agree with the upside I would like to see what his role is before putting him in my lineup if I can help it streaming Week 1 streaming defense defense for week one this is one where especially you could go through your draft not draft anybody and now pick up a defense to start in your league and Jared I'm going to start with the Chargers who are available in nearly all leagues 6% rostered on Yahoo right now they are facing the Raiders hosting the Raiders in week one that Raiders team is implied for the third lowest total on the week one slate that's a great way to Target your defense especially one that's playing at home and that point total is ahead of only the Patriots and Broncos so if you're already looking at the defens is facing those the Chargers are one step up from that available just about everywhere we know that they have talent durwin James Joey Bosa khil Mack they have players that can make plays wasn't a good defense last year new coaching staff this year though a home defense favored against Gardner mchu to start the season looks pretty inviting yeah that's what we want for a streeming defenses at home and for me the biggest thing is I want defenses that are they're favored and you know the more they're favored by the better because we want our defenses facing pass attempts there's wayer upside when the quarterback's dropping back for a defense than when a quarterback's handing the ball out Seattle is my favorite streaming defense this week they are six-point home favorites for Denver the Broncos 18 point imply total second lowest on the week I think this Broncos offense is going to be better than than Vegas does but still I do think it's going to be you know a bottom 10 offense especially you know B Knicks making his first career NFL St on the road definitely upside for the Seahawks defense this week and this of course is assuming you know defenses like the the Bengals and the Saints are not available it seems like you know most owners were wise enough to SN snag them but I think whoever's playing the Patriots early in the season at least until a drake May takes over you know that's probably going to be you know the top option if they're available in your league yeah and you certainly might guess Wrong by playing a defense against rookie quarterback Bo Knicks this week but that's the kind of guess I'm okay being wrong about because there's obviously upside to taking a defense against that guy in his first pro start if you like this kind of advice if you want some start sit help every Thursday please subscribe to our YouTube channel it'll alert you whenever we drop new stuff on here so you can get ahead of your league mates on waivers and other items in your league it also lets our bosses know that you enjoy the content we're putting out on here for free by the way so that says that you want it to keep coming throughout the season makes it easier for us to put the time in to do this stuff and we're going to be here all season so we really appreciate your support consider subscribing especially if this is not the first time that you've seen one of our videos some RB waiver wire targets running backs to stashed year we talk streamers but it's not just about streamers I think probably more people are looking to build their roster for the season that's what we're looking for in this section who are you stashing that's available at running back right now just generally use as many bench spots as you can on upside running backs because these are the guys that can be real difference makers if they get you know one break ahead of them on the depth chart number one ad for me right now Jordan Mason who is just 29% owned on Yahoo and that's obviously because up until what 10 days ago or so we didn't know if Jordan Mason was the number two running back Elijah Mitchell on IR done for the season at this point so that does lock in Jordan Mason as the number two running back obviously not going to have any Standalone value behind Christian mcaffry but if Christian mcaffrey goes down I think we're talking about Jordan Mason as someone who's going to you know be landing inside the top 20 in our weekly running back rankings and by the way our injury predictor has Christian mcaffrey for 3.0 games missed this season that's one of the highest marks on running backs among running backs a lot that's just because the guy touches the ball a lot and the guy who touches the ball a lot has a pretty high injury risk there a lot of luck goes into staying healthy at running back he had a lot of luck last year the way luck works it doesn't always go with you we've seen Seasons where Christian mcaffry missed a lot of time as well so certainly the rb2 in San Francisco makes a lot of sense I really like the rb2 in Tampa Bay as well Bucky Irving we've talked about plenty he's only 19% rostered on Yahoo right now so I like the idea of stashing him especially because we could find out early in the season that he's taking more work than even anticipated with a healthy Rashad white in the lineup so I would like to put Bucky Irving on a roster now if I can and I think Jared otherwise it's worth looking at situations where the market is a little too sure of how things are going to work out and what I mean by that is there are multiple running backs the market is too overconfident I look at the Chargers backfield as one example where Gus Edwards is on 82% of Yahoo rosters JK Dobbins is on 47% kimman Vidal is on 10% now I understand that like three weeks ago it sounded like kman Vidal might not make this team he did make the team none of the other running backs that were competing with him behind Dobbins and Edwards did make the team with him Hassan H Haskins is the only other guy there the do a guy that I'm interested in stashing assuming that neither Gus Edwards or JK dobins is available in your league because I don't think that this is going to be a backfield where we get one guy controlling things the whole way or even where we get Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins for sure staying healthy and dominating work I think there's potential opportunity here yeah definitely Vidal has a still relatively easy path to playing time JK Dobbins being rostered under 50% is absurd to me I mean I would not be surprised if we look up this time next week and he out snapped Gus Edwards in the openers so Dobbins is the one who definitely should be rostered in like I think almost all fantasy leagues kamani Vidal and leagues of 12 plus team should be rostered I want to mention Jaylen Wright again who was roster on just 22% of Yahoo leagues I mean he looks like a guy who can definitely make an impact with an injury to either Raheem moer or Devon aan then we should talk Chiefs back really quick here because a lot has changed in the last week or so Clyde 's air is gonna start the season on the NFI list so he's out at least the first four games the chief science and Ma pet who even before Edward air ended up on the NFI I thought perine kind of was the new favorite to be the number two running back perine was better last year than I had remembered I kind of was digging into him after he signed with the Chiefs he averaged 4.5 yards per carry caught 50 passes at 9.1 yards per catch he was fourth among 43 qualifying running backs in profa Focus receiving grade so I think at minimum he's that pass catching back behind Pacho I don't think it's going to be enough for Stalone value and I even think if PKA goes down like you're not going to see perine be a Workhorse for this Chiefs offense but I do think perine would be the guy you'd want to use in fantasy lineups if Pacho misses time this season yeah I agree I think C landing on the NFI makes pyan more draftable more roster than when C was active I I think if you're in a large tournament field Carson steel is still interesting because he probably has a higher ultimate ceiling because we don't we have no idea what it would look like if Pacho went down but in a typical managed League I agree perine is worth stashing and you know we don't tend to like to handcuff our starters but I think even perine is fine as a handcuff to PCO at this point on your roster one more backfield I want to mention in the overconfidence category chuba hubard is 62% rostered in Carolina my sanders is 3% rostered I know my sanders was terrible last year the year before he was excellent and he was quite a bit better for three straight years before 2023 so to me those two rostered rates just indicate way too much confidence that chuba hubber is going to lead this back field while Jonathan Brooks out for the first four weeks and that my sanders is toast because if he was then the current coaching staff wouldn't have any reason to talk him up say he's been looking fantastic or even keep him on the roster which they have they've kept him on the roster Dave Canalis has spoken this week about my sanders looking fantastic I think that this is probably going to be a split backfield for the first four weeks and obviously an injury to either one is going to make the other a potential like RB 23 24 level weekly starter while Jonathan Brooks is out my sanders feels gross to me like you said he was horrible last year but the staff has been talking him up all offseason it's not like Chupa hubbert's a world beater like he was definitely better than Sanders last year and I do think he'll open the season with you know I don't know 60 65% of this backfield but that that can also shift right if Sanders happens to outplay hubard in week one you know that the backfield could look different in week two so de deep leagues Sanders could be worth stashing wide receiver WR waiver wire targets who you got for us let me talk about Mike Williams again one more time before the season starts he's still available in over 50% of Yahoo leagues which is crazy to me I mean I think the issue the the concern with him was you know was he not going to be ready for week one coming off the ACL but he's going to play week one as the JS have said all along he's going to be limited week one as the Jets have also said all along so I don't think you want to be starting Mike Williams in week one but like we'll see how this ramps up as we get you know deeper in September and you just you know you don't want to wait till he has that you know four catch 80 yard one touchdown game because then if you you know if you're using blind bid waivers you're gonna have to pay up the wazu to get him so just grab him now he should be rostered he's I think a top 50 wide receiver over the course of the season and he he should not be available in over half of Yahoo leagues yeah protect your wazu drop Wale Robinson pick up Mike Williams now so you don't have to pay for him later I want to also talk about the overconfidence thing at wide receiver here because we've got a number of situations that are just uncertain heading into the season looking at a couple of wide receivers that are not available in most leagues but they are plenty available khil Shakir is at 60% rostered on Yahoo Josh Palmer is 58% rostered obviously lots of people listening and be like yeah that guy is already on a roster in my league but they're not in every league and I think that both of those rates represent too much confidence that somebody else's the guy in a wide receiver core that is definitely uncertain heading into this season Buffalo we've got Keon Coleman at a higher rostered rate than Khalil Shakir in La we've got lad makoni at 75% versus Josh Palmer's 58% I don't know who's going to lead either of those teams in receptions this year I do think there's a chance that Shakir and Palmer factor into that for their respective teams so I think that those are guys worth sticking on a roster where they're available Gabe Davis going to be much more widely available 38% rostered on Yahoo versus Brian Thomas Jr at 81% to me that looking at those two numbers next to each other is ridiculous I understand chasing the first round rookie and I'm not saying that he won't outscore Gabe Davis this year but those two numbers say Brian Thomas Jr is the way better play for 2024 than Gabe Davis and I just don't have a reason to say that I definitely prefer Thomas F for upside I think we kind of know what what Davis is at this point the nice thing about Gabe Davis though is you he's going to be out there nearly 100% of the snaps for a pretty good Jacksonville passing game there's been talk too about the Jags using him different than the bills did using you know Davis short and intermediate routes I'm not sure how that's going to work I'm not sure that's how he should be best deployed but if it does work that's going to make him an actual semi-reliable fantasy play rather than this guy you know in Buffalo who was you know 20 points one week and then a bunch of single digits I think Gabe Davis should definitely be higher owned than he is right now someone who even week one against Miami a potential shoe do game like Davis is going to know be in that wide receiver for Flex mix if you're looking for someone like that and the I'm not sure is the key there you you don't want to at this point in the season turn I'm not sure into I'm staying away from that guy you want to turn into why not take a shot and see what happens because none of us are sure what it's going to look like in Jacksonville but if we get a big week one from Gabe Davis you can be sure that people are going to be chasing him on your waiver wire ahead of week anybody else W out got two more uh sets of teammates the first Michael Wilson and Greg dorch in Arizona you know these guys are locked in as the team's number two number three wide receivers especially with Z Jones supended for the first half games of the season I just think this Cardinals offense is going to be pretty darn good better than people are expecting you know with Kyler Murray back you know the ACL kind of behind him at this point in their second season under offensive coordinator Drew petzing and then listen to the schedule too for for Arizona to open the season Buffalo week one you know they're gonna be probably playing from behind in potentially highs scoring game then they get the Rams lions and commanders you know all all four of those games could be high-scoring Affairs and you know the defenses aren't super scary so I think Michael Wilson and Greg dorch could be useful in deeper leagues early this season in the last two guys again going back to this Jamar Chas situation we don't know where this is gonna go but Andre yosias and even Germaine Burton I mean Burton doesn't look close to being ready to make an impact you know he was playing deep into the fourth quarter in these preseason games I don't think he's GNA have a week one role even if Jamar Chase doesn't play but this Chase situation you know for some reason extends multiple weeks into the season Andre yosias and Germaine Burton are going to have opportunities to you know you know make plays and earn roles going forward yeah I mean stashing a Bengals pass catcher where you have room to do so seems like a a solid idea most times Week 2 streaming QBs so we talked about week one streamers earlier more people are streaming all the time so we want to get ahead of that and let's look at some week two streamers now Jared before people are probably even thinking about week two quarterback what you got yeah I think the top streamer next week is going to be Matt Stafford who gets uh the Cardinals he's Arizona Stafford actually threw four touchdowns in his game in Arizona last year that Cardinal defense was not good I don't think it's going to be much better lower level for me and we talked about him as a week one option I think Baker Mayfield who's going to be at Detroit in week two you know that's going to be obviously in a dome potential high-scoring game the Bucks probably playing from behind Baker's passing volume elevated it so I think you know again in deeper leagues two quarterback leagues you could grab grab Baker and uh even you know start these first two weeks Deshawn Watson is only rostered in 34% of Yahoo leagues at the moment he is at Jacksonville in week two that should be a pretty good Vegas game total they're favorite over Dallas at home this week so clearly Vegas isn't scared of Watson and the Browns in general we'll see exactly what that game total looks like for week two but I think he could be a good streaming level play and then I'll be curious to see what Daniel Jones looks like in week one and what the Washington defense looks like in week one because those two will Square Off in week two and he is 7% rostered currently so if you're a true quarterback streamer where you're like I don't care how long I have to wait I'm not taking quarterback I'm taking everything else and I'm just going to piece it together week by week I think it was week two last season where Daniel Jones went from awful in week one to qb1 overall for the week against the Cardinals so like he that's his range of potential outcomes that sounds like something Daniel Jones would do I'm excited to see this Giants offense again we've talked about it but two years ago this was a you know above average offense you know with a a healthy Daniel Jones now they had Malik neighbor so there's definitely upside to Daniel Jones I need to see a lot from him in week one to you know trust him as a one quarterback spot starter in week two but we we'll see you can tell how into fantasy Jared is because he said he's excited to see the Giants offense which even Brian D's not saying I think tight Week 2 streaming TEs end I'm gonna lead off because if Tyler Concklin does deliver against the 49ers in week one you can bet that I'm not going to be sitting him in week two against the Titans I'm hoping that he just turns into the guy that I stream at the beginning and keep streaming as we go who you got at tight end yeah and tight end's tricky like honestly I I in most cases I would just wait until after we get some week one Data before making an ad for you know there's going to be someone that's going to pop up and who's going to run you know 70% of his team's routes and see six Targets in week one that's going to look like a you pretty obvious option for week two but guys I have my eye on again Kobe Parkinson if he has a nice week one he gets that Arizona matchup in week two and then again Mike Kiki gets the Chiefs you know we love those Bengals Chiefs games in week two so you know gaseki if he does get good usage in week one we'll see where Jamar Chase is at at that point but you know gaseki at minimum could be a nice touchdown bat in week two in a likely high-scoring game and Beware of the flimsy points in week one at tight end we saw Hayden Hurst and Hunter Henry look in week one last year like they were going to become guys that we could trust in lineups they got picked up in a lot of spots and they let a lot of people down after that so we will certainly be looking Beyond those initial stats the targets catches yards touchdowns and at the usage see who's running routes and who's not on the field as much as their numbers might say Week 2 streaming DST defense Jared I love the potential to reuse the Seahawks or Chargers from week one Seattle visits the Patriots in week two the Chargers visit Carolina so you'd prefer to have a defense at home but I think both of those matchups are potentially worth targeting in week two obviously we'll see how week one goes and then judge it then but looking at it right now they look like potential options for sure those are the two I have and both those teams despite being on the road are favorites in week two right now the Seahawks three-point favorites in New England Chargers three and a half Point favorites people are hip to this start defenses against Patriots thing so you're going to have to be looking you know two I don't know about three but you at least two weeks out um if if you want to grab the defense playing the Patriots Yeah just don't go overboard and use up all those roster spots we're trying to spend on upside running backs on extra defenses exactly you can find week one rankings live on draft shars.com right now you can find lineup
