well the time has come to say goodbye I have a few thanks and acknowledgements before I go and I want to start with all of you watching out there it's been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night year after year decade after decade it's an end of an era as Pat sjck says goodbye to Wheel of Fortune after 41 Seasons the years go by fast we're getting near the end I mean it's been a long time we're not going to do this for another 40 years and for Pat's co-host Vanna White it isn't an easy farewell we've laughed we've cried we've celebrated oh gosh what an incredible and Unforgettable Journey we've had and I've enjoyed every minute of it with you it's like brother and sister really we're great friends in a sneak peek of his final episode The longtime host reflects on his time behind the wheel I've always felt that the privilege came with a responsibility to keep this daily half hour a safe place for family fun no social issues no politics nothing embarrassing I hope just a game what an honor to have played even a small part in all that thank you for allowing me into your lives you know it's an honor to have been asked into people's living rooms that long I mean people often wear out their welcome in our business and we're happy and proud that we have it the emotions running high in Vanna's goodbye message to her longtime co-star are 8,000 episodes went by like that when I first started I was so green you made me so comfortable and made me so confident Pat you made me who I am you're like a brother to me and I consider you a true lifelong friend who I will always adore I love you Pat oh my it may be the show that's never cancel I mean it'll go on after we do and the show is going on with Ryan Crest at the helm the host of Wheel of Fortune I just I want to close my eyes and hear you say it I can't believe that's real so what advice has Pat given you well I have looked up to him forever uh he's so good at that job which you know is a little bit of pressure here but uh he just said you're going to have a great time it's so much fun what's better than giving away money and doing that every single night and I can't wait to meet the contestants and do it as for what Pat will be up to post exit well he's already got a job lined up starring in a play called prescription murder starting in July and we know Pat will no doubt still be tuning in to Wheel of Fortune after he's gone it's just a show that it become part of people's daily life cycle and uh I have a hunch it's going to be around a long time I think I'll be at home watching it one day
