these One Tree Hill alums didn't want to be anywhere else other than back on the court in fact a whopping 13 former Tree Hill Ravens once again hit the gymnasium in Wilmington North Carolina May 18th for a charity basketball game set up by friends with benefits charity events among those playing and raising money for the V foundation for cancer research are James laferty Brian Greenberg and Steven colleti James reflects on how special it is to be back in the gym with it all started with his former One Tree Hill co-stars saying in an interview with my cancer family just being back in this gym and particular where we actually shot the show and being with all the guys who originally played on the Ravens basketball team it's surreal and it's wonderful some of these guys I haven't seen for a very long time some of them I have but to have all of us together again it's incredible it's a gift however one cast member noticeably missing from the court was Chad Michael Murray and while the actor couldn't make it in person he did tune in for part of the game's live stream sharing a special message with his co-stars and fans dude it's so good to see you guys I really do wish I was there I'm on set it's the only day we could get this location forgive me but you know we are treehill for life always at the game the group broke off into two teams with Paul Johansson and Craig shiffer facing off on opposite sides in true homage to their onscreen animosity and rivalry as few muting Brothers Dan and Keith Scott and while it was a close game ultimately team Dan won with a score of 78-72 in a statement to E news organizers of the game share that more than $112,000 was raised for cancer research and this isn't the first time the cast of The Beloved teen drama have reunited for a good cause back in November much of the cast returned to Wilmington for a 20th anniversary celebration thrown by FWB charity events while there the alums met with fans signed autographs and took pictures together with Austin who played Julian Baker on the series posting a montage of pics from the event in a November 7th Instagram post writing got to hang out with some great humans this weekend old friends old stories lots of laughs and a bunch of new friends thank you to everyone who made this happen [Music]
