Will UGA Football's Schedule be Too Daunting for the Dawgs?

all right I know D made a video but my instant reaction to the AP poll the preseason AP Top 25 is out now georg's number one right but that's not what we're talking about we're talking about the rest of the teams are going to have to play we knew georg's schedule was going to be tough right not a secret it's one of the big topics for Georgia this offseason was hey look at this road schedule for Georgia you got to play Alabama you got to play miss you got to play Texas all on the road throw Kentucky in there throw a neutral sight against Clemson right it was always going to be a challenge but then when the AP pole came out I had a physical reaction to looking at it it was an eyebrow Razer it was eye opening when you see that Georgia will have to travel to play number four number five and number six in the preseason AP pull in addition to 14 number 14 against Clemson that first week in addition to a November battle against the Tennessee team that's ranked 15 heading into the season got some more takes surrounding that I think that George's schedule can be broken down into three sections and I'm going to talk about those three sections and why each of them pose completely different challenges for the dogs what I think this schedule really means the pros the cons of it what's different from last year and what's different about this year's team compared to last year's team and how this team is going to be more prepped to attack this situation than last year's team was but eye opening man and also haven't been making videos much recently tore my Meniscus right so I'm dealing again if I I don't think I said that the first time okay so uh let's talk about breaking the schedule down into three months right and it's not perfect but you got September you got October and you got November I know that there's a game in August I know that there's more than four games in November but I've got it broken down into three phases for Georgia's schedule and what I'll go ahead and do is show you guys a little bit of what you're getting on dog post if you sign up for it and that's this right premium store the oh that not that premium store that I was working on here September what's the challenge with September well you got to deal with Clemson Tennessee Tech that's going to be no problem right but then Kentucky and Alabama I think Kentucky could be ranked by week three we'll see I think that they'll be ranked at some point during the season they're good enough to get that done and you got to deal with Alabama you look at that first month and you say wow Clemson Kentucky and Alabama it is the opener the mental struggle of playing Alabama I think that from a mental standpoint that's the biggest challenge for Georgia is going and playing at Tuscaloosa team that they've just had a hard time beating right only able to do it once recent years and it happened to be in a national championship Kentucky is not an easy Road match up for them right we know what happened last time weird weather game but they should handle that just fine Clemson I think that they'll be fine in that game as well but you do look one of the best defens in college football then you move on to October it's its own little challenge two of their three rivalry games are in this when you got to deal with auburn and then you've got to deal with Florida game right Georgia should win those both both of those games right and especially this Florida game I don't think Florida's going to be a great football team Auburn could totally be ranked by the time that this game rolls around right they've got to deal with um an FCS team they've got to deal with Oklahoma South Carolina I believe all that they play five games before they play Georgia in Athens it could be a 4 in one or 5-0 situation for Auburn that I know that they go to Arkansas as well I think 4-1 is probably the most likely but are we going to be super shocked if Auburn's 5-0 heading into that game and they will be ranked if that's the case because that would include a home win over Oklahoma what could be Oklahoma's welcome to the SEC moment I'm not sure but that's including at Texas in that October month its own little challenge move on to November ad Miss versus Tennessee I think Tennessee is going to be a pretty good football team not on the level of the road matchups that George has to deal with but yes I do think Tennessee is going to be a good football team and then you have George attack on Black Friday I wrote weird in my story because I do think it is weird it is a different game is a different atmosphere that they haven't had to deal with is it going to be a sellout crowd is it going to be a blackout crowd what is it going to be on Black Friday that evening I don't know because it's a little bit different and I lost it again and now I should be back here now there are three different mini gauntlets that add up to be George's major Gauntlet and when I looked and saw all those rankings I was just like whoa right I knew it was going to be difficult I knew it was going to be challenging but when you put it on paper and you finally get those official numbers and you see that it's like man this Georgia team has to deal with something I don't know if any other Georgia team has had to deal with it's one of the toughest schedules I've ever seen in college football just point blank not just for Georgia which of those three is the toughest is it the September month when you have to deal with Alabama is it the October month where you got to deal with Texas and a couple rivalries is it November when you're maybe beaten down a little bit maybe there's a couple of key injuries which tends to happen over the course of the year what happened last year L makoni and Brock Bowers injured at the beginning was a little bit different story but but they were banged up ra Ro Thomas was banged up at the end of last season obviously not on the team now but he was part of the offense last year I don't know all right but what's different about this Georgia team I said that this team's a little bit different what's different you don't have the transition with Carson Beck and Mike Bobo that's gone for George's sake they're going to have to wake up earlier what do I mean by that you think about last year who' they have to play they had to play a couple cup Cupcake teams right UT Martin Ball State and it seemed like they slept walk their way to a 48 to winning 48 to7 45 to3 felt like they slept walking those games right didn't look like the Georgia that we know that maybe would have hung 60 on both those teams that maybe would have made it look a little bit easier they had to wake up in week three against South Carolina in the second half when you you think about that secc inside Cameo and you think about Carson Beck winking you think about Javon Bard and and Cedro van pren those two of those guys are gone right and this is different they will have to be awake to start the season immediately and I think that's one of the things that works in georg's favor this year right Clemson is that first game on the docket no matter how I feel about Clemson no matter how I feel about the the Vegas odds in that game Georgia can't be asleep against one of the best defenses in college football on a neutral site there will be more Georgia fans there yes it is in Atlanta but you can't be asleep against a team like that you could be asleep against Tennessee Tech and still win you could be you could probably be asleep against this year's Mississippi State team and still win but you can't be asleep against Clemson so they're going to have to be awake immediately and I think it took them two and a half games to wake up last year and then they took a little nap in between and had to wake up against Auburn as well that going to benefit this Georgia team having to start out the season with a bang not starting out with a UT Martin and a ball State consecutively tenness Tech will fit as a nice cupcake in between the Clemson and the Kentucky games I also think that going to Kentucky for your first row matchup is good I think it's good get another sec road trip out of the way before the Alabama game let people get their feet wet with that feeling because there is nothing like a road game in college football and there's nothing like a road game in the SEC and I think that the Kentucky one will serve as a good warm-up but look could be a ranked team right and they're part of the challenge and it'll be interesting to see how they fare against their former backup quarterback in Brock Vander so I do think that Georgia has that going for him um now fans concerns right I think there's two things that should ease fans concerns well there one is there's less pressure to go undefeated now that there's a 12 team playoff Georg doesn't have to be 12-0 right and people have been asking me for my preseason prediction it's starting to get that time where I'm hounded with questions right cuz CU The Season's finally underway I wish I was down there in Athens at practice right now for you guys to be able to give you all those reports um but I'm out of commissioner right now I got the I got the non-c cont Jersey on right now as I'm reporting there's not as much pressure they could lose two games and still make the playoff and win the national championship you don't want that to happen right you want to go undefeated and you're fear the team you want to go undefeated but that's not what the situation is right now and I think there's a little bit less pressure Kirby and this team is not going to act like there's less pressure but there is and two George is likely still the best team in college football right that doesn't change that notion doesn't change they might have to play four five and six 14 15 and maybe some other teams end up being ranked when they play him but Georgia still has that one next to him and I think it's until proven otherwise the way it was two years ago the way it was last year and still think Georgia you know had an argument for that probably should have been threading into college football playoff but that's besides the point it's different there won't be as much offensive transition this year yes you lose a brock hours you lose a lot makoni but your quarterback's the same and you got plenty of weapons and you've got chemistry and a return in coaching staff that's bolstered again after losing a couple guys I think that they replaced guys with better with better coaches Carson Beck had to go from getting his feet re his football feet wet again missed four years of playing football at a competitive level of being a starter right in between his senior year high school and his senior year at Georgia last year red shirts redirt Junior whatever you want to call his season last year that changed and now heading into this year he's projected to be the number one pick in the NFL draft and he's projected to be a Heisman finalist in New York in December things are different for this Georgia team and that's why I think they're prepared for this Gauntlet in a way that they wouldn't have been
