right all right welcome back to sflow mojo.com we're uh tracking hurricane Barrel tonight uh we got a new report in from the National Hurricane Center all right let's bring that up I'm looking at the wrong one here let's do this we got the 8:00 advisory we're going to be taking a look at this and uh breaking it down for you a little bit all right what we got here let's skip through all that good stuff uh all right uh at 8:00 p.m. the center of hurricane Barrel was located near latitude 16.1 North longitude 71.7 West and that's what you're looking at here uh on the live infrared radar we'll zoom out a little bit for you uh so we can look at this thing in the Big Picture Mode all right there we go uh moving West Northwest still 22 miles per hour as we mentioned earlier it's been kind of ticking upwards a little bit uh this General motion should continue through Wednesday followed by a turn more towards the West uh Wednesday night or Thursday uh that's what we're hoping when that uh midlevel Ridge we're hoping to see that shift um we're going to talk about what that is and how it steers the path of this hurricane uh so on the forecast track the center of barrel will move rapidly across the central k Caribbean Sea tonight and it's forecast to pass near or over Jamaica on Wednesday and right now it's looking like it's going to be a direct hit unfortunately and we'll go over that and look at the track expected uh for this thing as well uh the center is expected to pass near or over the Cayman Islands Wednesday night or early Thursday and approach the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico Thursday night uh we have maximum sustained winds are near to 15 50 mph still so a little bit of weakening there uh again with the higher gusts and I mean you know you don't really need much more than 150 to do some crazy damage you know I mean that's um so it is a category 4 on the Safford Simpson hurricane wind scale uh so we're we're hanging tough at a four here weakening is forast during the next day or two uh and again that's going to be dependent if we get a little more windshield year uh because uh we haven't quite got what we expected yet uh however Barrel is forecast to be at or near major hurricane intensity while it passes near Jamaica on Wednesday and the Cayman Islands on Wednesday night uh additional weaking expected thereafter though Barrel is forecast to remain a hurricane in the Northwestern uh Caribbean and you know you got to look at the language a little bit so uh because in the in the last few updates they said remain a major hurricane and that specifically means Category 3 or higher uh so they are looking for a little more weakening out this thing and that's good uh we have hurricane force winds extending 40 miles out from the center uh tropical storm Forest winds extend outward up to 185 miles so yeah we see it spreading out a little bit you mentioned that earlier uh that it might be getting a little bit wider and it is uh estimated minimum Central pressure still dropping at 943 MB and we'll talk about what that is more and why that's important later on uh so we'll scroll down through there let's look at the storm surge uh 5 to8 ft above normal tide levels in areas onshore and along the immediate coast of Jamaica I mean the storm surges in it of themsel I mean we're still trying to recover uh South Florida West Coast uh from you know the LA a year two years ago not rebuilt and that's uh mostly from storm surge uh you look at uh Naples area Fort Meyers uh all up through the West Coast of Florida uh because everything just got leveled by that storm surge and that's you know you think always think of the wind but you know again you can't stress enough and then then the rain in itself like we were talking about you know uh some parts of of where we're at in Florida uh sometimes the rain's enough to to uh keep you staying inside for a couple days all right uh rainfall hurricane Barrel is expected to produce rainfall totals of 4 to 8 in with localized Maxima of 12 in across Jamaica and Southwest and the southwestern Haitian Peninsula through late Wednesday uh Barrel will also produce rainfall amounts of 48 in with isolated amounts of 10 in across Bona pen peninsula in southeast Dominican Republic uh isolated totals of 6 in or more are also anticipated across the mountainous Terrain in central Dominican Republic uh and we're going to try to get a better look at what's going on because it looks like these guys are getting uh really hammered right now let's pull that and let's take a close look what's going on there there we go bring that down a little bit uh so that's going to be it for the 8:00 National Hurricane Center uh Noah update complete advisory at 11: uh so if we have any big changes with that we'll pop back on and cover that uh unless everything's pretty much remaining the same uh for those of you just joining us uh that's a great reason to subscribe uh so that you can make sure you get notified when we do go live with any important news uh or events all right what else do we got here let's try to bring this over yeah let's zoom in here on uh zoom in here on that uh are you make sure you have that pulled up over there if you would okay I don't so I'm slacking on us here all right we're trying not to have any major bloopers tonight no wardrobe malfunctions all right just kidding uh all right we got a few other things to go over here um there we go very good okay we got that hang tight guys still uh working out a few technical details of the stream while we wait for more people to show up in the meantime we'll keep the live infrared up to the minute radar going for you all right what do you think this thing's going to do uh well I mean pretty much looking at it you can see like that it is it is spreading um apart you know where is where first started it it landed but then it but then it lay and like it lost let look at the momentum let me switch it to the 12 hour here and then it increased once it got out to the Caribbean and so all I want to know is is what's it right now what is the speed right now about 150 sustained 150 all right so right now we're looking at the 12h hour loop it goes right up to the current minute uh but we're going to yeah you see this is is where where it really started to spread out right when it got towards the Dominican Republic yep yeah it was really compact right in there right right yep now I wonder if the eyewall uh was is starting to break apart a little bit if the uh wait for this to load every time I zoom it wants to reload on me so is there like an ETA or is it hitting right now because that looks like it's hitting right now I mean it looks like they're getting it looks like they're getting hit uh you know excuse me let's pull this down a little bit more like this yeah oh wow I can hear some thunder outside the studio yeah it looks like they're catching a lot of the uh outer bands of this thing probably a lot of wind and rain uh we'll find out I mean if the speed is like 155 I mean those bands are probably what are the bands well on those outer edges that's where you have the uh tropical storm Forest winds so remember the hurricane Forest winds only extend about 40 Mi outward of the center so that's going to be these dark red areas here but you get a lot of gusts in here as well uh like yeah look at this burst right um so substantially less than than the 155 miles per hour you know some of these could be 40 50 60 M an hour I anything under anything under 70 M hour right right uh and then as you get you know I mean I know that the um the embassy in Santa Domingo has has pretty much got all their warnings out right now is um Red Alert so that's pretty fitting for yeah well let's take a look uh we'll look at some of those other Graphics let's see try to grab a hold of this going back to the National Hurricane Center let's look at uh here's the wind history trying to get this so I can the great thing about this is this is like up to the minute so this is like happening right now arrival times so for Jamaica you got it sitting right over top Wednesday 8:00 a.m uh I mean it's 8:00 pm now so that's tomorrow yeah 8 A.M now that's right over when the ey is going to be right over top of it okay uh so into the we hours of this morning really so guys if you guys are in in these areas or near these areas uh leave us a comment let us know that you're safe and that you're doing okay and um we appreciate it and give us a like if you like what we're doing I like that chart all right there we go uh so we have wind speeds wind arrival times uh let's take a look so this kind of shows the wobble that we were talking about right that cuz we see I mean it's I I feel like it's taken a little bit more north than they had really uh predicted and uh let's go let's look at those pressure Maps again why not now as good a time as any we'll close that out okay we're going to zoom out here uh what we're looking at now is the pressure Maps I'm going to put an animation on it I'm going to rewind this a little bit though all right let's talk about that midlevel Ridge uh that you keep and about all right high pressure up top in the tan and brown uh the low pressure areas you'll see are the green greenish blue uh and then in between you see this kind of clear area this little band right here that's going to be that midlevel Ridge they're talking about uh we're going to put the animation on it uh now as these pressure systems move around and shift if you watch this low this really dark spot that's your hurricane right there uh you'll watch that it hugs this clear line up here this Ridge area uh that's kind of like the hand that's holding it down uh so as that shifts and goes upwards then you'll see that barrel uh tracks upward and when that pushes down you'll see it start to get pushed back down again uh so it's going to follow that Ridge all the way down uh and what we try to do is we try to predict things like well what is you know what is the Ridge gonna do let's scoot this over a little bit uh and what we're hoping is that it's going to uh track South uh and keep keep this thing down and out of uh away from these islands and uh out of the gulf uh now Mexico is going to be looking looking at uh the receiving end of this thing right now by the way we're going into a future cast this is uh and we can kind of look at that uh if you again if you look that little low pressure center you see right there uh that's your hurricane so if we start moving it along the timeline all right here's where we are right now uh you can see it hanging out uh right below the Dominican Republic uh as that Ridge uh you'll notice shifted upward we saw Barrel start to move up more towards the islands there so we don't want that we want it to push it back down and now we're going to go into the future cast uh so you can see though uh it's looking like Jamaica is going to get it head on uh and this we're looking at this is putting us at about 300 p.m. again this is a you know future cast here so uh and then what we're hoping is that Ridge will uh excuse me let me get a hold of that the ridge will push this thing down but I don't you know anything can happen and the further out you get the less accurate these predictions become you know because like we say uh Mother Nature has her own plans all right well let's Zoom back in we got the radar here we're going to switch back though to the infrared satellite uh yeah wow look at it really is pushing up man it seems like it's really hooking up hard I mean we're going to have to keep an eye on this because uh yeah it really is is doing quite it looks like it's doing quite a turn yeah it really does uh I mean it's pushing up awfully close because I'm well I'm looking at like OU bands in in Puerto Rico really looks like it got uh lashed uh I know we've had some people in the comments uh from Puerto Rico hopefully uh we had a gentleman giving us some updates uh yeah from the the course of the last streams uh and what's going on over there so hopefully he's going to pop back in and tell us what's going on over there uh and uh anybody else on the ground uh Dominican Republic uh Jamaica uh south coast of Cuba uh you know jump in the comments at any point and tell us what you're seeing down there uh if you guys want to send us any uh video clips or photos that you'd like us to put on the air uh of of footage from this thing uh you can go to our about section on our Channel page and you can find uh where to email us at uh soflow Tropics uh at gmail.com that's soflow Tropics with an x t r o p iix uh you can go to our about page and find that uh and if you got anything interesting you want to share with us hit us up over there uh hit us up in the comments we'd love to hear from you guys uh We've enjoyed uh chatting with with uh a lot of people that have already been affected by this thing uh you know out from the windward Islands um and we got to hear back from some of them that they were doing okay and holding tough After the Storm uh but that's another thing we're going to go back and look at too uh right you know Jamaica it's been about eight it's been about eight years since they had their last hurricane and that was big uh yes yeah hurricane Matthew yeah that was a category four I think it's been a long time it seems right and that was that was terrible what that one did category 4 that's I mean similar I don't I don't remember right off hand like what kind of wind speeds uh but maybe this thing will continue to break up a little bit uh you know over the course of the next day or so and at least get those wind speeds down uh storm surge you know that's going to hurt irregardless because you're looking at a very small island here you know uh I mean that's going to hurt all over like I was saying uh we're still recovering you know from hurricanes two years ago here uh everything's not been rebuilt so it looks like it said is like 145 miles per hour was the sustained winds of that and so we're already like surpassed that right now oh for Matthew was 145 sustained yeah right so we're already surpassed so yeah it's currently it's it's it's passed out yep it's been a lot higher I mean we were at 200 mph gusts uh you know not too not too long ago this is a monster of a storm uh it's already broken multiple records uh you know earliest storm to form this far out east in the Atlantic on record uh fastest to reach Category 5 status on record it's already done a lot of unexpected things too uh you know well there's quite a bit of like volatility there's a lot of like condensation in general like all across from like the the African um what do they call it the trade not the trade WIS but you know all of that all of that heat yep it's going to be unpredictable it's going to be unpredictable up to the end but we're going to watch it happen you're watching it live up to the minute on the infrared satellites uh we just covered the latest Noah report uh next one at 11 uh not a lot of change uh from the earlier reports though uh wind speed still 150 mph so the speed wind speed dropped a little bit still tracking West 2 uh Northwest 22 miles hour it's gotten a little wider uh it's it's grown a little bit and uh man I just can't it really is surreal to look at you know in this uh context right yeah the Dominican Republic is looks like it's really getting hammered and this is you're going this is where they're going to see that storm surge I mean it's going to push on up uh so if any of you guys are from the Dominican Republic let us know let us know how you guys are doing hanging there a lot of uh people in Florida have family and Haiti Dominican Republic Cuba all these places uh yeah look at that I want to switch it back to the six let's go like that now what you're looking at here is this is minute it's up live up to the minute radar infrared yep all right let's see what else we got here yeah they've moved it up a little bit definitely definitely tracking a little more northward than originally expected uh let me just try to pull this up here all right yeah and you can see they have the eye just underneath of Haiti and the Dominican Republic uh now 150 m per hour max sustained winds uh West Northwest 22 mil hour so yeah that's all still pretty much the same also we have this uh tropical disturbance uh that we've been keeping our eye on uh it looks like it's still just kind of chugging along not too much chance of that one doing anything so we're not too worried about that one what else do we got here says it's moving south of Hispanola all right so this answers your question a little bit about the wind speeds on these outer areas here uh you can look at the little color Legend at the bottom and uh so really you're looking at about uh you know probably 40 miles 40 to 60 m per hour sustained on the very outer on the Outer Perimeter of this and then you know as you get in Tighter and Tighter but it's still quite a bit of wind and it's again it's not so much the wind but all that water being pushed that way uh those Storm surges you don't you don't even need the wind to have a lot of damage and then you have like you know if it's high tide or not right yeah well it's on that's on top of the tide right so they have this let's continue through here uh see they're already starting have started to move the uh path upward northwards a little bit they're tracking on up if you look this is going up into Texas where have it now uh and remember just a little bit of difference back here can make a big difference up here to where you know how much of this thing we get and again you know you have everything that's carried with it you got that storm surge on that on the uh on the side of it you know uh but Jamaica Jamaica Jamaica right in the path of this thing thing we're going to be watching real close hopefully everybody is uh tightening up and getting prepared down there uh we were looking at some live cameras uh this afternoon uh down in the grill Jamaica and uh it looked like they were all partying and having a good time uh going for a swim so I think they have more of a more like a Florida mentality on the Hurricanes down there uh you know hurricane party time you know that's what that's how it goes down uh in in these parts so when Nature does what it does kind of have to uh right well you can do so much preparations and then the only thing you could do is just uh you know lock down and uh hope for the best all right let's uh get rid of that there we go let's zoom out a little bit over here so we talked about the Ridge we talked about we covered the Noah report uh what else do we got so this thing is moving um you know pretty steady yeah I mean it's increased and you know it's slightly increased in its uh Forward Motion there up to 22 miles an hour those little variations you know they make a little bit of you they make a difference uh right I think that when it gets close to land there's like a vacuum right like as it get closer to land there's almost like a pool because of like the stream the golf stream right well yep absolutely all right guys uh we're going to leave this live infrared satellite going uh we're going to take a little quick step away from the camera for a moment uh but we will be right back but you hang tight we're going to leave this live uh infrared radar going for you and we're going to be right back with uh some more information and updates in just a moment so hang tight and we'll be right [Music] back e e e e e e e e e e e hang out I'm here in the meantime if you have any comments or questions um I'll be happy to answer it e e e e e e e e all right let's see what we got here let's see what else f be right back with you guys and just getting some information together uh you're watching hurricane barrel uh up to the minute live on The Infrareds right now we might flip over to the satellite in a minute I'm trying to get uh some live cameras uh from out of the Dominican Republic if you bear with me I want to see what's going on on the ground there because it really looks like they're getting hammered pretty good let's see what we can find here it looks like several of the cameras that I normally go to are down right now so I don't know if that's because they're getting a lot of wind right now or let's see what else we could find here uh if you guys are just joining us give us a shout out in the comments you got any questions I'll try to answer them during the stream uh or if you just want to say hello love to hear from you let us know where you're at how you're doing give us a little smiley face in the comments section or a thumbs up we would appreciate it all right let's see yeah I'm finding a lot of these cameras are down so I'm wondering if it's uh because of the storm yeah I'm not having any luck so far let's check this one Skyline and this all right I'm GNA try to bring this up let's see how am I going to do that let's see I could probably do okay bear with me guys just trying to tap into this camera here Wonder can I do wait maybe I can oh here we go all right not much on this one we're going to this is hold on just a moment Cabaret Beach is that uh let's get rid of that not much to see on that one see what else we can find here here I guess I should pay attention to the comments too I should have those up in front of me looks like for for for sorry about my loud typing okay we got the chat going let do this go e [Music] all right tracking hurricane Barrel we're going to just take a look for those of you guys that weren't here at the latest update from the National Hurricane Center uh we have hurricane warning in effect for Jamaica Grand Cayman and Little Cayman and Cayman Brock hurricane watch in effect south coast of Haiti from the border with the Dominican Republic uh to an Dean Halt and the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula Peninsula from Chatum to Cabo Kos tropical storm warning in effect for South Coast of Dominican Republic uh from Punta palanque and I think they're getting it right now uh Westward to the border with ha uh so all the way across let's zoom in a little bit over there uh and you're looking at this live up to the minute on the infrared radar uh tropical storm watches okay uh 8:00 pm uh the center of hurricane Barrel was located near latitude 16.1 North longitude 71.7 West uh which is right here uh forecast track on the forecast track the center of barrel will move rapidly across the central Caribbean Sea tonight and is forecast to pass near or over Jamaica on Wednesday uh we're looking at Wednesday morning uh by 8:00 a.m. that thing it's going to be uh right over top of Jamaica and it looks like let's go ahead and pull up that uh track back again and see if that's changed any all right so we're looking yeah they're putting it a little bit uh low still but if I look at the pressure map and again remember this thing's being Guided by that oh we better rewind this thing is being Guided by this midline Ridge right and uh so this was earlier today and as that Ridge shifted upwards is when we saw this uh take a little bit of a turn north northwest up closer uh you can see right here is your uh the eye of the hurricane where that low pressure pocket is uh and now we're going to get into some future cast a little bit so if the ridge continues to move as predicted you can see it's going to put let's go back uh this is putting it there about 300 p.m. 3 to 4 p.m. right over top of Jamaica uh and we hope hope that doesn't happen but that's what it's looking like uh so hopefully those folks are getting prepared or prepared ready uh we were actually looking at the uh some live cams uh in the grill and everybody was uh swimming and partying and uh it looked like uh something you might see in South Florida when we getting ready for a hurricane uh so says uh they're looking for it to turn west uh Wednesday night or Thursday so we'll see what happens with that uh on the forecast track the center of barrel will move rapidly across the central yeah Jamaica Wednesday uh Cayman Islands Wednesday night or early Thursday and uh should approach the Utah ucatan peninsula of Mexico on Thursday night uh that's if it continues on the predicted path maximum sustained winds are still 150 miles per hour with higher gusts we are still a category 4 on the Safford Simpson scale uh we're looking for some weakening over the next day or so but uh still forecast to be at or near major hurricane intensity while it passes near Jamaica on Wednesday and the C Cayman Islands on Wednesday night so they're saying uh major hurricane status which again that's when they say major hurricane that's category three or above uh when we when it gets to Jamaica and through the Cayman Islands additional weeking expected after that uh though it is forecast to remain a hurricane in the Northwestern Caribbean uh so hurricane winds 40 mil from the center tropical storm force winds 185 miles from the center so it's widening out minimum Central pressure that's that little blue spot we looked at on the pressure map 943 so it's dropping uh all right so we're going to have Storm surges uh you're looking 5 to8 feet Jamaica uh two to four feet Cayman Islands one to three feet southern coast of Hispanola uh again that's on top of the normal tide lines and again along the shores you're going to get those devastating waves and like I said we're still recovering here from hurricanes two years ago uh that storm surge it's uh it's bad rainfall 4 to8 in uh with localized Maxima of 12 in across Jamaica and Southwestern Haitian Peninsula through late Wednesday uh it's also going to produce 4 to 8 in of rainfall with up to 10 Ines in isolated areas in bajona Peninsula and Southwest Dominican Republic uh isolated totals of 6 Ines or more are also anticipated across the mountainous terrains in the central Dominican Republic and again anytime you get this kind of rain in the mountains you get the mud slides and uh the flooding uh flash flooding 2 to four in uh in the Cayman Islands with localized maximum of up to 6 in uh as always we're going to keep you updated on this next complet advisory is at 11: uh so make sure you're subscribed ring the bell for notifications so you can get notified when we go live uh with new alerts and warnings if you guys have any questions hit us up in the comments I'll try to get to you during the stream and answer any of your questions and uh 75 new subscribers over the last two days so we want to welcome you guys and thank you for joining us we do appreciate you uh we hope to earn that subscription from you and uh it's always uh great to get new members we've had a great time chatting with you guys in the comments in the live discussions uh so keep it coming uh and if you're not subscribed then uh you should think about doing that now and ringing the bell to get notified because uh we're covering these uh storms from start to finish uh we've been on this one you know we called this one early uh and we're going to cover it to the end always up to the minute live radar and satellite uh and again all those National Hurricane Center reports to you when they come out uh and again it's going to be a hectic year this is just the start but we're off to quite the start here guys it's going to be a rough one unfortunately you know it's uh an exciting time and at the same time you know it's like There's real people involved on the other end of these storms real people on the ground and uh storms like this there's no two ways around it I mean they leave a path of Destruction uh in their wake uh and it can take years to recover from that uh and you know and we lose people and that's no good so it's uh a little bitter sweet tracking these things because you know on the one hand It's a Wonderful powerful Act of nature that you don't get to see that often especially uh the way we can nowadays with all the technology uh but on the other hand you know there's real people being affected uh on the other side of the screen and uh I think that's just something to keep in mind so we're going to keep tracking this thing and uh hopefully you'll keep hanging in there with us and uh give us a like if you think we're doing a good job if you're enjoying the up tothe minute coverage on the satellite infrared satellites and uh yeah it really helps us out Keeps Us motivated keeps us going and uh YouTube seems to like it so well not too much we could do right now except just sit back and watch it I'm going to hang out if you guys have any questions hit me up in the comments I will try to answer you as best as I can during the stream let me take a look in here it's been kind of slow in the comments section today Everybody Must be watching CBS that's okay there's a time and a place for that too for for hello medicine fish hello three Mystics thanks for dropping us a comment hope you guys are doing all right tonight uh let us know where you're at how you doing we'd love to hear from you if you have any questions uh hit us up hopefully you guys are subscribed already I think I recognize you from a previous stream actually some returning members that's always nice yeah for for for for for e this thing looks like it's headed straight for ke but you taking over for me yeah all right guys we're going to do a little shift change real quick I'll catch you on the flip side and uh we got the real G taking over hello everyone hope everybody is doing safe hopefully you're not in this storm right now uh it looks like uh right now we're just in the waiting phase um so if you guys want to get on the comments uh tell us where you're at if you guys know anybody in this uh Dominican Republic uh it looks like you guys are pretty much in it right now um right now we're in the waiting phase so gonna just be doing some quick some research here a little bit to get an idea obviously we're seeing this up to the minute this is happening live this is pretty wild we've never had this in the history of um watching these things happen live right now so it's pretty intense just to see it it's very surreal the size of this thing is massive um you know these hurricanes uh like pretty much just change everything in your life and or these people's lives and so we have to really take time to um be grateful and thankful that either we're not in this or not having to deal with this but either way just sending out prayers and um making sure everybody's okay uh you know share this with a friend um you know anybody you know um we'd like to hear from you guys um leave a comment down below uh I'm going to actually check into some I was just checking out and Noah's hurricane hunter let's see if they have an update yeah I saw a video earlier of the hurricane hunters and um they were in the eye of the storm uh right now currently and I'm not sure like right now at this moment but I but I did see that they were up there and um it's pretty surreal they're in the eye and it's very calm early and uh but it's just really great that they're able to give us a heads up literally on uh what kind of a thing we're looking at here and to to more of an accurate um accuracy so right now it looks like um I mean as you can see by this radar that right now we're just in the um I guess everybody's probably in the bracing state so sending out prayers to everybody if you guys are there and uh let us know if you're on the ground let us know you're safe see here here okay so Jamaica um tomorrow morning yeah it looks like um so basically I think I did see it and it said like 8:00 a.m. uh you know somewhere around there around 8 in the morning you know right now we're uh we did see a camera earlier and it was very calm so I'm sure that they're getting a lot of ways right now a lot of this wind band is is also going to be bringing a lot of rain um as you know you probably have't been experiencing a lot of the rain if you're in the tropics coming into the monsoon season thank you all right so this is quite interesting so I mean as you can see on the radar here you've got a lot of you got a lot of activity down here at the bottom so I mean you know it's not just this one area but right now this is the area of focus that's getting uh the most the Dominican Republic Santa Domingo the Porte Prince so let's see what time is it I think that we get the next update let me check on that for you if any of you guys know let's see the next update is going to be be the next complete advisory is going to be at 11 p.m. so at this point we are just kind of watching this minute by minute if you guys uh are new to the channel don't forget to give us a like hit that subscribe button and hit the notifications to um get this live um so right now as of um 800m you know this can obviously change uh we're looking at 150 miles hour that sounds very surreal um I know that there has been a you know major hurricanes like Hurricane Andrew that's you know obviously the wind gust can be more so 165 miles per hour category five so right now we're looking at um category four so right now we're basically winding down to the last minutes uh that we're that really this storm is going to be hitting these areas these islands um and right now it's just a matter of everybody just batting down the hatches and um hopefully we can give you guys some value here and um helping you guys to see what's going on minute by minute you know instead of being in the dark you know hopefully people still have electricity uh you know if you have your phones make sure that you uh are charging them uh you know having this technology also allows you guys to prepare whereas you know say in 1990s uh you pretty much when when it was lights out that was it you just had to kind of like get together with the neighborhood and and try to figure everything out and uh hopefully everybody um stay safe and stay inside don't try to go surfing uh so let's see what do we got here we do have let's take a look let's see is it coming to Florida well let's take a look at this track here I mean generally like we hope that it just always dissipates out into the ocean and doesn't really really hit any of us uh projected it looks like it's really making a turn I've noticed quite a bit here um so it's it's very tricky to tell you know there's the cone uh which projects it to be like near uh Mexico and Texas um let's take a look and so I mean we're just you know Moment by moment um I hope not being in South Florida I I hope it just goes out to the ocean thank you for your comment though so it looks like you know I mean even from there it looks like Cuba is also um experiencing some of this uh these wind bands as well and you know it looks like it's definitely uh you know we haven't got the update yet but from from what I'm looking at it is definitely in the direction of Cuba right now uh we always hope that when they reach land or before they reach land that they like lose momentum um so we're just right now we're just waiting for that 11 pm update and if you guys are new to our Channel um hit the uh subscribe button leave a comment um uh we really appreciate it it really helps us out allows us to continue uh to provide this upto-date weather I love this uh just being able to have this like 24 Central upto-date weather it's really really uh is a blessing just knowing where it is minute by minute I think is is you know kind of like okay I know where it's at and uh it doesn't like just come out of nowhere out of you know surprise yeah I mean Texas New Orleans um Mexico that just that that warm pocket right there it seems to be it always seems to conglomerate around those areas there's just a lot of the ocean water is really hot right now so we're talking like 85 that's pretty hot in general uh for the ocean because I feel like there's a point where it it gets colder and just it's just basically like rocket fuel for these um hurricanes let's see so as of as of now right now the hurricane warning is an effect for J J Grand Cayman Little Cayman and Cayman Brock a hurricane watch is in effect for South Coast of Haiti from the border with Dominican Republic to an hanal east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula from chetal to Cabo Koch a tropical storm warning is in effect for South Coast of Dominican Republic from Puna pank Westward to the border with Haiti south coast of Haiti from the border with the Republic to on St an not thank you thank you so much I I do appreciate it we appreciate it and um I will be right back [Music] I'm back sorry about that glitch Doris fogner oh thank you so much I do appreciate it yeah it's really helpful when you have kind of like a very specific thing you know like and you want to know what that is and this happens to be like up to the minute so you don't have to like Wonder you know is this old uh and you can just be like okay this gives me the up to date you know and that's what we're here for so don't don't forget to give me a like thank you so if you guys have any friends or family or anybody that you know you know uh share our Channel and uh this might help them and if anything to uh see the area that they're in if it's heading towards them and so they can be prepared um in general when you're in the tropics should probably always be prepared even just to have like a just make sure you have plenty of water kits uh you know just kind of uh make sure you have the batteries and a radio I know we have cell phones now so make sure your cell phones are charged but most importantly is uh have a plan uh you know it's important if you just go ahead and plan ahead it eliminates a lot of the stress for things that you have to do at the last moment in the preparation of this um at this point you know saying our prayers making sure everybody is safe uh I imagine all these people are having to um just hang in tight um and um just sending out positive energy to everybody uh Doris yeah that's yeah that's good you know um you know that like when they start um shutting things down in general uh like the airport I mean you know that it's serious um I know that uh during like Hurricane Andrew it was just like you pretty much knew once they shut the her once they um shut the airport down you pretty much knew that like well you weren't going anywhere and so yes but you're but but hopefully you're safe thank you Doris we do appreciate the comments anybody you guys uh know um who would like to uh watch and see you know the up to the minute uh forecasting uh here at soflow Mojo don't forget to hit the notific ification for new updates and news you know here we're always trying to like uplift and uh put out positive vibes to people during these times I know everything can get uh hyper excited people are out on the roads I noticed that today it was just kind of like everybody's getting really hyped up because a lot of times these things turn towards the area where they live and which obviously they don't want to which creates a bit of anxiety um so uh just at least having like up to the minute getting to to look at this this thing is massive you know it's it's just really wide really fast um just the wind the bands and everything and the rain so that in itself can be very stressful but sometimes you got to you know real back and realize that you know Mother Nature is going to do what she's going to do and you know if you can just like take a moment to kind of like just you know really make sure you uh stay calm you know it's easier said than done but you can do it Doris yeah yeah definitely uh so oh are you still are you still stuck there yeah those can be really tense situations when you're like trying to get out of there you know trying to get to the airport and get out of there and then you either you know you get stuck um but you know I just I look at it like this is is like if you ended up being somewhere you know and uh you believe in that type of thing uh you'll find that uh you know sometimes just for whatever reason you know maybe you know you're there to help somebody else out and um you know keeping everybody else calm and just in a positive way maybe helping other people out you know during that time you know it's always important to be more of in a supportive role um during this time it's easy to get kind of kind of like caught up literally in the spiral of the hurricane um if you've been through uh hurricanes in your life if you've never been through hurricanes in your life you're going to find that um there's different levels of anxiety and stress that come with it um just being confident that you know you'll make it through and just having like a overall like try to chill and uh not let your head take off with too many thoughts you know and you know a lot of times I think it's the time to take back and self-reflect on you know what you're doing in the day and how how you know we don't really have the the major control that we think we do we have hurricanes to I mean Nature's Way uh of like balancing everything out is what hurricanes are so um we don't really think about it because we're not we're not a hurricane so we don't know you know well some people are like herur Gaines um but uh you know just trying to make sure you you know in if any of you guys are in this situation leave us a comment down below um okay your friend is there okay yeah and Doris yeah your friend is there okay and you're in New York okay yeah well you know maybe she'll um you know I guess it's just all in the perspective and how you look at things you know I mean you can look at it like oh that's really I wasn't able to get out of there and sometimes it's like a blessing in disguise U you know it just depends on how you look at it but but I'm glad that you're okay so let's see what time is it okay so it's so you know looking at it on the satellite you know it's kind of like you feel a little bit helpless because you there's nothing that you can do about it but at the same time you can see that this thing is moving through and hopefully it moves through quickly um I know there's facts in place that you know say that it's going to do this and and how long it's going to last and in the update all you know me or big or Captain Sergeant Dan Lieutenant Dan we'll give you an update on thaten Dan Lieutenant Dan the weatherman I like that well Doris we're gonna send out some prayers to your uh friend there and um uh just you know you yourself you know put out positive vibes to your friend and um hopefully everything will work out good maybe maybe the experience will be like you know maybe changed your life in a in a positive way if it's if it needs be that in that direction so right now um we're going to be just like um watching this thing minute by minute don't forget to subscribe if you guys are new to this channel um comment and share share with people that you um know that are there uh let them know that we are actually live and we are covering uh you know the story and you know maybe they can tell us you know what's going on with them you know what they're experiencing um we do have an email if they want to send us uh you know pictures uh you know give us kind of like an you know a general idea of you know what they're experiencing you know um I'm actually going to take a short break um we will be back shortly um hang in there we will leave this uh live footage up right now and we will be back momentarily e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e welcome back everybody um we are right now we are [Music] currently looking at it's 9:30 and we are waiting for a 11 o' update so uh we will be here so leave a comment down below uh say hello so as I was saying earlier um telling you guys a little bit about stories you know uh if you guys have an experience that you guys want to share with me uh about like a you know a hurricane that you've survived with um I was in the very big hurricane and that is Hurricane Andrew um I'm sure that you guys probably remember that um yeah it seems kind of like yesterday um I'm trying to think you know it's 1996 not 96 it was 1992 1992 um and um the the situation is is just surreal you know you would just never expect to uh see the the land totally just um destroyed and uh you know it took a long time for them to to rebuild uh you know I know that down in uh four Meyers right now you know they're still like you know still boarded up businesses and you know that's that's what we're looking at and so I hope that you know by some miracle that you know it's just some you know trees and and stuff like that and just some Surf and we always like to be super hopeful uh so it looks like right now we're looking at a Dominican Republic um so we're just waiting for the next update um if any of you guys are on land and uh you know let us know how you're doing if you know anybody that's there um let them know that sof Mojo is has got the live coverage as well if they want to chat with us you know we want send out our prayers to everybody hope everybody's batting down the hatches and uh you know make it through this I know that sometimes uh you know I've heard people just like they just go to sleep they don't want to watch it they don't want to you know just and and hope they just wake up and everything is is you know feasibly uh manageable as far as the next day uh right now we're talking about 8 somewhere around that time 8 in the morning landfall I mean looking at it right now looks like it's pretty close to landfall as it is I know that sometimes they come up with an intermediary report and we will have uh Lieutenant Dan read that for you let's take a look thank you guys for hanging in there um you know we're just sitting and we're kind of uh watching this and um giving you guys any updates as we get them and thank you guys for leaving the comments down below well hello hi Lieutenant Dan oh you got a screwed over I can't get in the camera yet oh there we go I'm back oh goodness it's so big though get self situated goodness gous I can have to adjust this a little bit look at that there there we go all right I like when you're in charge keep doing what you're doing okay uh so you know as far as like details if if any of you guys want to know a little bit of details I mean things as far as like we know we're looking at you know um there we go we're looking at 150 miles an hour I mean I'm sure that you can imagine what that looks like um because nothing we that nothing that we are in turn oh yeah that's nothing that sorry about that I'm supposed to be The Tech Guy so nothing that we've ever like are in is at 150 miles per hour meaning like as far as understanding context like the fastest that most humans have probably ever been is in a car going at least I'm not going to say like 80 miles per hour I don't know like maybe like a fast car you're a fast driver well I mean as far as like what the speed on as far as what like a speedometer goes up to like what 85 95 I'm not really sure but so meaning like that's depends on what you're driving it's probably like the max amount that that um each person's ever like been in a physical situation where they are going really fast like that so you can't so imagine like doubling that you know or let's see to what is it 9090 listen all serious I mean 150 mph winds I mean this is going to put the hurting on on uh these guys in Jamaica it's not even a question it's really uh about putting the pieces back together afterwards again we talked about her K Matthew uh when did you say that was 2016 16 uh yeah you know it changes the face of things I I think I mean you know sometimes times I mean sometimes it makes makes it better in the long run it's like you were talking about Hurricane Andrew uh think about those areas that got flattened I mean listen terrible uh catastrophe and a lot of people you know displaced Etc uh and then a long road to recovery but if you look at those areas now uh I mean they're built back much better and nicer you know I mean some of those spots have kind of run back down um but you know that that because of hricane Andrew all the building codes changed right right like uh you know uh there was a building that I literally was made of Styrofoam walls and this was like a really tall building and so yeah they pretty sure it's cement now right styrofoam and it's stucko on the outside of the but it's yeah right exactly yeah they can't they can't do those here anymore right well I know that was it was um I want to say it was like called boardwalk and I'm not really sure exactly but they had just built it literally I remember them building it and uh we got Mr Man JJ in the comments hey how's it going good to see you again uh yes I bet you guys had a time out there how uh hopefully you're doing all right and uh we're going to revisit uh that so so hang around uh also if you guys have any uh pictures or video that you would like to share uh you know from down there in uh Tobago Tobago how am I saying that right though you're have to help me out here Mr manj Mr but uh we have uh if you go to our about page on our Channel if you have anything you want to send us uh you can find our email address there where you can reach us and that's at uh soflow Tropics gmail.com and it's s l o t r o p iix but you can find that on our about page uh you know if you guys and we're always uh glad to hear the updates uh down there uh you know and and of course know that you guys are all right we had yeah we had a conversation with a number of people uh uh I think well it was Tobago yeah I mean there and um Barbados we talked to some people in Barbados we talked to people in uh St John's we talked we talked to a lot of people uh but it's nice to hear what's going on the okay correct one I said two though so I'm still confused because but awesome thanks for joining us again we we appreciate you guys we actually had like 80 new subscribers over the last two days so welcome aboard we really appreciate you guys and uh hope to earn that uh subscription from you well you know we're here to make sure you guys get the real time the real real right well everything's up to the minute uh up to the minute satellite and radar uh so and and uh we try to keep the updates rolling as they come in we're going to cover this thing from start to finish so you're going to see us online uh Tobago Tobago okay to there we go now I feel much better awesome thank you well I mean there's 90 Islands uh down in that direction so it's hard to know how to pronounce them all and I'm bad anyway it's like I still get corrected because I I call uh EST Florida I call it Estero sometimes still and I mean like you know I've been here way too long to do that but I'm just bad about it and so I get corrected on that one all the time uh it's okay estto Florida don't yell at me guys all right uh yeah so everything up to the minute uh you know we try to keep it no BS try to keep a positive vibe and not get too super hyped uh but you know these are serious times this a serious situation so we also do take it very seriously we don't take lightly uh the people with the lives are involved and you know part partly too while we're doing this a lot of these areas don't really get the coverage uh you know a lot of times people say oh it's not going to hit us and we don't you know we can forget all about it but that you know I mean look at what's getting ready to happen to Jamaica here you know uh I don't know I like uh I've enjoyed my visits to Jamaica uh beautiful people down there uh just an amazing place to be uh and uh you know I just I just think about like the people that I've met my experiences down there and I think about them when I when these storms roll through so you know I I try to keep an eye on things and uh it does make a difference cuz you can't always find that up to the minute uh information uh you know so we try to provide that here and hopefully we're doing a good job if we are give us a like uh we really appreciate it and it helps us keep doing what we're doing um so for now we're just kind of hanging out watching this excuse me watching this thing happen and uh we're here to chat with you in the comments so so a lot of Fallen trees here and no power for a while well hopefully uh you've got your power back now or hopefully you're going to get it back soon uh because that's another thing like nobody really thinks about like uh for how long were you without power uh from Andrew um six months well you Knowle months I mean it was fun literally your house is the only house left on the Block pretty much it's it's such a like I mean it seems like it's just kind of like a memory you know of like all all the details you know just seeing like the images like I feel like I've seen you know they somebody made like a book of it and it was just like I couldn't even believe it because you know honestly we didn't have the aerial footage that we have like here NOS uh limited radar because that storm actually knocked out a bunch of the uh radar Towers so right that was a big part of it because that one turned back around and nobody expected that that's why I always say you know after you've been through a couple of those seen those happen you realize these things can take some crazy turns that you just there's no way to predict right right and that's what that one did and you know nobody thought it was going to be anything and then all of a sudden it was something really big yeah I remember that's why you know it's important uh for for you know all of us here in the gulf and you know in the Caribbean uh we got to you got to keep an eye on these things because even simple things like like uh you know like you talk about preparedness it's like things like water it's like you know how hard it can be to get water like when it gets when any I mean here anytime that there's a storm going up everybody goes and cleans it out especially if you live out in the country and you're not that close to a store in general uh you know you have like a well you might have like well water well in Florida that's the case a lot right right but I'm pretty sure you still need to have like a pump so I don't think it's just like you know you know what I mean you need electricity say my point being that uh you know you learn when you live in these areas to be prepared but at the same time it's like if you go a while without a big storm you get lack and it's easy to do but uh this time a year man like you know it's really worth it to just start you know putting away some supplies putting away you know some bottle of water you know like you were saying earlier the batteries the whole thing and everybody talks about that everybody talks about it over and over again uh but you know it's the truth and sometimes we need that nudge right well it's better to have that preparedness like you know even if it's a book bag with uh all of the basic stuff just just year round you know you just never know in general if you're going to have I always like to have a bag uh a little breakout bag you know just basic stuff in the car like first aid yep uh even I keep a little camping gear uh and all that stuff because uh just I mean for me in case I feel you know feel like uh you know doing a spontaneous weekend you know go camp out on the beach not too much bushcrafting uh I'm more of the the uh tropical Vibe I like chilling on the beach but no uh yeah whatever but so you should keep those kind of things anyway yeah just way you don't have to stress and think about it you know when it when it comes time right and you don't have to deal with the you know the the craziness in the traffic because you know you go in the store too like right before these things happen and there's a certain like buzz a certain like hyper nervous energy that every and everybody's just buzzing around that's what I felt I trying to avoid that that's what I felt today when I was in the store there I was like wait a minute isn't it a Fourth of July as well so you have like a mixture of like Fourth of July hurricanes bad weather and it's just like all these people's energy is just like colliding yeah Mr Man J your first hurricane okay y well welcome to the club uh I want to say hopefully the last you know I mean they can be it can be a positive experience when they're not too bad when they get like this unfortunately yeah even if you're on the edge and there's always that uh worry that it's going to turn a little further your way hey can we scoot a little bit CU I'm feel like I'm kind of oh there we go a little bit better you can scoot forward a little bit that way don't look so big fix this sorry about that guys trying to make it a little more even the even the playing field here a little bit all right so yeah we got the update coming at 11: uh you know sometimes we'll probably honestly we're probably uh going to be taking a break around that time roughly speaking so uh you know unless something dramatic has changed but I honestly I don't really expect much different with that up St uh if you're new to our channel uh welcome welcome there you have it uh so let's look let's take a quick zoom in over here and see uh what's happening I mean I can try to get some wind speeds off of this I find that the wind map on here let's look where are we and this is future projections so the wind map on here I don't know exactly how accurate this one is we're seeing 120 123 over here in the middle uh and the reason why and now if I just go over to the let's go to this one yeah I just don't know how accurate this is on that okay if I go back a little bit I see oh there we go 130 I mean if this is accurate then it's uh kind of clipping back a little bit it's kind of slowing down so hopefully that's the case I mean I would love to see this thing diminish before it uh gets over top of Jamaica here which it's looking like uh early in the morning it's going to start getting there uh by 8:00 a.m. according to projections it's going to be right over top of uh Jamaica so you're probably you know 4 or 5 in the morning probably start feeling that first uh wind and I don't know why I don't have this going but there we go that's a little better right what time we got here I'm having to conserve my voice a little bit too guys because I've been doing some really long streams we had a 10hour stream uh the other night hanging out with the guys in Bago uh and so I ended up losing my voice for a little bit that's why I wasn't on as much for uh yesterday but I seem to be getting it back I just I don't want to push it so try to take it a little bit easy this evening because uh we got a long week ahead of us and uh tomorrow we're going to be you know covering the entirety of this thing uh as it makes landfall uh we we got access to a couple of the cameras uh Beach cameras there that we'll probably try to pull up while we're watching this thing on the satellites and the radar uh and uh we hope you guys are going to join us for that as well like we said if you haven't already uh smash that subscribe button and ring the bell to get notified when we do go live uh because we're going to bring bringing you up to the minute coverage on this thing all the way through uh so we hope you're going to join us and uh if we're doing a good job for you if you're enjoying the live uh radar and satellite imagery and our banter then yeah give us a thumbs up we appreciate it it keeps us energized and rolling it's like uh it's like it's like spinach for popey it really does help us out we appreciate it but you know what I really like I love the comments I love talking to you guys in the comments three Mystics hopefully all is uh good yes hopefully everybody's doing good out there tonight uh and uh staying safe staying dry staying out of this wind and rain uh we're going to have to get some Intel on the ground though over here and see what's happening with these Storm surges uh over here across the Dominican Republic in Haiti you know the great thing about looking at uh the satellite too is is that it's this is this is an a an accurate uh size you know that you're looking at it's not hyper exaggerated what you're looking at no well this is this is straight from uh you know the yeah this is straight from the satellite this is all like comes through Noah it's imposed over these Maps uh so so with the infrared they get the all the cloud data and all uh that good stuff and we could go into the technical details if anybody's interested at some point uh but yeah it's all accurate up to the minute this is the same you know information you could you can get it from uh uh Noah you could see this uh I believe they have a live radar on the national uh hurricane Center's website it's not as pretty as ours uh thank you wendy.com for that uh it's not as pretty as ours and it doesn't have all the features and it doesn't have us man right so you got to come here to get that uh because what would you do without Lieutenant Dan the weatherman and the real top G all right I'll stop being silly uh so what else we got let's yeah I don't think there's any I know you were looking at the cone here we'll try to pull that out boom all right look at this we got they're still showing it on the you know possibly on the lower Edge again we looked at those pressure Maps uh and what that's predicted to do we looked at the midlevel ridge we talked about that what it is why it's why and how it steers this uh hurricane what we think it's going to do uh and uh if you missed any of that you can rewind this live stream or you can watch it uh it does get posted up to our channel uh after the fact so you can watch it there if you missed anything uh but of course we'll be going live again real soon so make sure you ring that uh make sure you subscribe and ring that Bell for the notifications uh so what else have we got here again I don't really expect any major changes with the uh updates potentially I'm hoping to hear that this thing is that it's dissipated a little bit and that uh you know we have a little bit of reduction in these wind speeds before it uh gets to Jamaica because really honestly you know it's not going to be a good situation let's look at this well you know what I did not look at let's see what we have over here sometimes they give you a little more Intel on this let's take a look uh yeah so they do mention that uh it's become a little bit less organized since the last reconnaissance aircraft uh went over uh the eyewall cloud tops have cooled and the eye has become ragged and less distinct inside the central dense overcast that's exactly what we were pointing out there and you can kind of see it uh happening on this and I could go back in time on this as well let's go yeah uh right I was noticing the outer part was like starting to like break up let's uh let me go a little further back try to line this up good for you I don't know what I'm doing sorry about all the jumping around with the view there yeah you see that how it kind of closes up there for a second see how it's nice and open and formed right all the way through all the way through all the way through it starts to kind of break up that's what we were looking at earlier but look at that how it just closes right up there boom and really look it is kind of yeah so we might see a reduction in this thing I'd like to see the see it reduced uh yeah I'd like to see get tired out it's like how long can it go how how many miles can it sustain I mean I don't know uh so it said the overall Cloud pattern is becoming elongated due to Shear so that's the wind shear that is kind of uh spreading this thing out a little bit more and like we said it looks you know it looks like it's breaking it up a little bit you can kind of see that uh as we uh as it rolls through watch we'll go back to this is 12 hours ago and watch as this upper portion as the wind shear kind of hits it boom you look at that boom you can kind of see it just break apart there and spread out uh and that's what the windsh does that's what normally stops these because remember you know these storms are whipping around uh counterclockwise like this and you get that wind that just comes in it's like a head-on uh shear and it just kind of shears uh shears it off literally all right so what do we got so it looks like there is signs that it has weakened in the past couple hours uh but the advisory intensity is going to be held at 135 knots which is again 150 mph uh until the next aircraft Mission so we'll have more data on that pretty soon uh again we got that subtropical Ridge uh we talked about that we looked at it on the pressure map uh the the steering factor of this and if anybody's interested in seeing that you can hit me up in the comments and I'll run through it again but otherwise you can just rewind this one and uh so again uh it looks like uh again we're going to North Northwest uh across the the Central and Northwestern Caribbean for the next few days it's important you pay close attention to that because that makes a difference you know earlier it was uh the southwestern so now we've upped it a notch You' been talking about that how you felt like it was going more North yeah well I pay a lot of attention to the pressure Maps is really where I I mean to me that's where it's at uh you could get so much out of that so much information from that looking at how the pressures are shifting around right that's why it's always everybody's always talks about it they don't really explain what it is or why it does what it does so we're going we've done that a little bit here and we're going to try to do that more uh because it you know it's just to me it's interesting folks at home I mean if you get interested with this stuff you can kind of get a sense yourself and uh you know it's like sometimes these uh these news stations some of these channels they really like sensationalize every little thing so it's hard to know like uh and they like to keep you in the dark a little bit we don't do that here uh so again across Northwestern Caribbean for the next few days uh and it should bring the center near Jamaica in about 24 hours less than 24 hours now we're probably down uh down significantly lower than that uh near the Cayman Islands in about 36 hours probably closer to 30 at this point uh and near the Yucatan Peninsula of mexic Mexico around 60 to 72 hours and after that there remains a significant spread in the track guidance when Barrel emerges into the southwestern Gulf of Mexico due mainly to model differences in strength and location of a break in the subtropical Ridge over the Southern United States and that's exactly what I was talking about earlier in the Stream we were looking at the the pressure map again the future uh projections because you know let's go ahead and just pop over there while I'm talking about it uh okay here we go pressure map guys high pressure areas that's going to be these tan areas let me just get this little thing hold on I got something in my way here okay uh high pressure areas that's going to be your tan areas here these little lines those are called isol lines and from those you can see what the exact pressure is within these uh these these lines separate out the different areas so you can see the pressures you got 1022 1020 you know as you come down the pressure reduces and these uh light green to blue areas those are the low pressure uh I bet you can guess where the hurricane is looking at the pressure map here uh it's this little low pressure center uh let's make sure we're at the current time yep okay uh 991 that actually looks like it's increased a little bit which is another sign of weakening but again let's talk about that subtropical Ridge so you got this tan area high pressure the light green areas low pressure and this clear band through the middle that's that Ridge they're talking about and now this shifts around and that's how it steers this thing so we're going to do a little quick rewind in time and we're going to watch as this pressure shifts and the hurricane moves along watch this band and watch the hurricane it's going to hug that band wherever that band goes it's going to go because it's kind of like you can think of it like a hand holding it you know like holding it down down uh it wants to go up because remember low pressure that's hot air it wants to you know uh and uh the high pressure moves towards it that's why you always get the same uh rotations but at any rate watch this Ridge watch the hurricane follows the ridge right up that's about right where we are somewhere a little bit back further we're going into future projection now but as you see that Ridge shift right it's still it's and this okay it's showing a little bit uh yep oh right over Kinks right over Jamaica keep an eye on the band again this is a future projection uh so this is you know another potential track once we get past this point it gets a little uh shaky but watch here uh and I could probably speed this up but this is fine uh see is that this band pushes upwards pushes upwards so does the hurricane I'm going to try to speed that up a little bit now this is what I'm looking at right here actually and this is uh Thursday all right right before we get ready to come into the golf and look how high that uh that band is the band is kind of broken up it's more of a pocket at this point right and now this band has been having a tendency to kind of sit right along here which would be really bad uh for those of us in the Gulf let's see what the predictions are on this I'm just going to speed along again this is a future cast now they they're all over the place with this and like they said their models are coming up all different so this they it's moved back down towards Mexico at this point uh but again and I'll go back to the satellite here get that rolling and back to the report uh there remains a significant spread in the track guidance when Barrel emerges into the southwestern Gulf of Mexico due mainly to model differences in the strength and location of the break in the subtropical Ridge over the Southern United States uh so let me Zoom we don't need to be so zoomed out there uh so again they're running the models but uh they look like spaghetti as usual because you know what you can't predict these things that far out you got to watch them and see what's going to happen and you got to make you know on the Fly predictions as it goes and the thing is that's why it's so important that everybody in these areas be aware be alert uh keep an eye on this thing as it happens uh you know don't wait make sure you're subscribed ring the bell for notifications so that you know when we're going live with these warnings and alerts because things can change quickly and look even if you're not sitting out in the Caribbean now if you're sitting in Texas you're sitting in Louisiana you're sitting in Florida you're going to want to keep an eye on this thing because you know anything can happen at this point in the game this thing's already a record Setter it's already been all over the map uh Category 3 category 4 back to three up to category five now back to four and hopefully back down to three before three or lower before we get to Jamaica uh so the intensity forecast also continues to be uncertain uh the models are in good agreement that barrels should steadily weaken during the next 60 hours due to sheer and dry air uh entrainment but the models show a slower rate of weakening than previously so you know that wind shear if it keeps coming at us and if it kicks up that's going to be a good thing it's going to continue to slow this down uh if it goes the other way that's going to be real bad uh and again they're showing a slower rate of weakening than previously but we are seeing signs of that right now when we watch that eyewall start or watch the eye of that thing start to lose its shape close up a little bit we're watching this kind of get spread out through here due to the wind shear currently uh so again this thing is going to be a major hurricane either way they're saying Category 3 or above uh when it passes Jamaica and the Cayman Islands uh and still a hurricane when it reaches the Yucatan Peninsula so difference being a major hurricane category three or above and hurricane is two and one uh so there remains a considerable spread in the intensity guidance when Barrel emerges over the Gulf of Mexico although there is somewhat better agreement that the Cyclone will intensify some while crossing the gulf uh that's the thing when it hits that Gulf it's even the water's even warmer and you know that's where it gets tricky because uh these things can get on a real tear through there so even if it's resolved down to a three or a two or even a one once it hits that Gulf you still don't what it's going to do because it can ramp right back up uh again another reason we got to keep an eye on it because especially uh anybody sitting in the Gulf Texas uh Mexico Louisiana Florida all you guys uh you're going to want to keep an eye on this thing as we get further into the week another reason to make sure you're subscribed uh we got Doris back in the conversation uh yes I agree with you okay yeah family in Houston yep uh you know I so far it doesn't look like it's going to get up as high as Houston but you know it could uh it could touch into Texas and again you know we don't know what's going to happen we're always hoping for the best but it's always best to be prepared and uh thank you for joining us Doris once again we appreciate you and thank you to all of our new subscribers that's right uh I think last I checked let me see what we let's see I'm going to go look what do we got the Gulf uh you know we'll have people on the ground uh for that dialed in so another reason to stick with us uh we got our email address in the uh about page uh so if anybody from the audience wants to send us any pictures uh or video uh from any of these storms uh if you want to share that uh hit us up in our email address sofl Tropics gmail.com and that's Tropics with an x t Rix but again you can find that on our about page uh but just before you head over there make sure you give us a like if you like what we're doing uh because we do appreciate it uh so what else have I got for you [Music] um I think that's probably it for the moment on from the National Hurricane Center I'm going to probably turn you back over to the real G here in a minute and uh probably take a break you ready for a quick break all right guys don't go anywhere we're going to disappear off the camera for just a moment uh but we will be right back and we're going to leave this live up to the minute
