College football 25 Iowa dynasty: Big 10 title game vs No. 3 Oregon

[Music] hello everybody and welcome to another chapter in The Long Legacy of the Big 10 conference it's a championship game in the new expanded Big 10 and there are high stakes here not just a conference Championship but potentially positioning themselves for one at the national championship with automatic bid this is a matchup we've all been waiting for two teams ranked in the top five battling for a precious conference title but also pointing to something even bigger the college football playoff as we'll see the number three team in the country the Oregon Ducks taking on the number one team in the land the Iowa hawy frea sports college football I'm Chris fower here in the booth with Kirk herbstreet I think we've talked long enough Kirk let's get this game going the kickoff team is out there and here we go a conference Championship on the line right now field it in the end zone it's low tackled at the 14 not very good field position to start here the ducks with less than ideal field position as they come out for their first possession and here he comes the quarterback all eyes on him he's the guy that just makes everything go well this guy's Mr do it all it's almost odd to say this about a quarterback but he truly does he's the echo of the coach and the connector of this offense when everyone is hooked up to him this team operates at maximum capacity and that usually means they opposition is in trouble oh what a move they stop him after a 6yd gain so second and four great job by the offensive line here opening up some holes and giving the running back room to run on first down plays like this can open up the playbook for the play caller allow him to make that defense think they're going to run maybe play action maybe throw the ball down field and he's tackled for a loss after the catch the defense all over that one well that's one of those plays that works better against certain defensive looks but not every defense is the same they were all over that one let's see if they continue to attack to the outside in the perimeter to set something up downfield and the quarterback finds an open Target on the Crossing now they bring him down but he reaches the 30 yd line that's exactly what you want to see here from this offense a big third down conversion offensive line did their job giving a quarterback enough time great read good execution throws the ball accurately now you got some momentum going here on this opening drive gain moves the ball to a 34 hat on a hat up front good job opening up the holes anytime you can get positive yards on first down that's a win a game makes it second looking the pass it's Gabriel that pass rush has trapped him into sack this exactly how you can slow down the momentum and a rhythm of an offense you got to get some tackles for loss and some sacks this time they come up with a sack by getting after that quarterback running out of time in the pocket the pass rush has got him again back to back sacks the dcks will have to punt this one away he spins free and he's in the clear he's brought down but a good effort to make something of that return so the Hawkeyes offense comes out for their first possession today well it's not easy to narrow down the impact players of just a few guys C what do you expect from them today well we got guys that can make plays as well as anybody in the country on both sides of the ball that's why I think this match up is so two good teams with great individual players first down play call how aggressive will it be they'll try to pick up the yardage on the ground you know in an era that we live in right now everybody wants to spread the field around try to create space try to create one-on-one matchups and the defense has countered over the years by trying to play out wide but here's a great example the defense has the ability to play wide but still be solid at the line of scrimmage and not give up big run plays second down after that on the previous play quarterback drops back he dumps it off to the tight end big man finally brought down by the cornerback that was a tough assignment and here the tight end shows off his hands for a nice game love to see the big man get his touches challenging spot for the offense it's third down and long from the 45 dropping back we going to throw for the first down incomplete he was hit as he threw the football there on third down the Hawkeyes will bring their punch team onto the field their catch made at the 15 yd [Applause] line and the powerful Ducks offense retakes the field the last possession they were forced to kick it away can they finally get things going this time he moves the ball across the 20 to the 22 I think this defense keeps thinking about them throwing the football and by doing that and opening up running Lanes good positive yards there by the running back looking for some space it's James nowhere to run up the middle that was an excellent effort by this defense just staying in their run F holding their own with the line of scrimmage and then making a tackle offense just couldn't get enough of a push to get any yards at all short connection to the tight end here he's tackled short of the 30 but that's good enough for a first down I don't blame the defense here at all Chris for bringing the blitz it's third down and short you got to get pressure on the quarterback but you got to tip your cap to this quarterback I think he was anticipating the blitz so he's able to get the ball out of his hands quickly and pick up the first down they'll run it out of the shotgun and the runner brought down right to the 38 yd line I tell you to be able to pick up a nice gain like that those offensive linemen have to sustain their blocks gave them a chance at a really nice game using the ground game here tailb back has the hand off now they test the middle the defense but yet nothing the defense came out ready to go on that second down and short no chance for the offense that'll bring up third down important third down play coming up now the play fake he'll look to throw it finds that big tight end for a short pass and the wi steps out of bounds but does have enough yardage to pick up the first down well the Defense loads up to show Blitz and anytime they bring that kind of pressure quarterback knows he's got to be able to get the ball out of his hands quickly nice job of locating the tight end for that first down quarterback will throw this out of the RPO big Play Moves the ball all the way to the plus 35 the ducks come to the line looking to crank up the [Applause] tempo he's going to hand this off the gain is two yds so it's second and eight def defense does a really nice job here being able to contain that run game held him just for two yards Chris to me he's changes the Playbook a little bit now for the offense the guy calling the plays at second eight that's a different deal now he's got to probably thinking about going through the air instead of staying on the ground it's incomplete he took a hit as he threw the football and brings up a third down not going to be easy here backed up a long way to go for a first down on third down he drops to throw looking for the wide out he's got it near the end zone and he's run out after a big game the offense will be set up with a first down and goal the whole key on four BRS is being able to give the quarterback enough time to assess the defense because once he's got his receivers down field if he has time to make that throw you're going to come up with some big gains he Powers into the end zone touchdown Oregon Conference Championship pressure they just grind away beautiful execution in that methodical Drive man I can't think of a better stage than a conference Championship that put together a like that moving the sticks executing along the way avoiding any turnover potential and coming up with a touchdown great job pretty easy call for the head coach he will accept that penalty of course kickoff team is on the field let's see if they give the returner a chance to bring this one back this one is not at returnable as out of the back of the end zone first down play call coming up how aggressive will it be we off the play fake looking to throw quarterback leaves the pocket on the Move now slides down to avoid the tackle ah this is great this is what the great ones do uses his legs to buy a little bit more time rolling to his left and at one point he flipped the switch from passer to Runner got a pretty good gain out of it too offense getting set up here's second down going try to pick it up on the ground the S were able to bring him down quickly Christino the spread era over the years has always grown offensively but I've been always impressed with defenses that really build their defense to play in space still have an ability to be sound at the line of scage and defend a running game it's exactly what we saw right there they don't block the defensive end who shows some quickness KK getting around the edge that time this guy's usually getting around the edge to put pressure on the quarterback but he reminds everybody here that this guy's a complete package not only can he pressure the quarterback but also he is very very talented and shows you the physicality he has against the run as well heads out of bounds after a solid gain more than enough to pick up a first down and the Hawkeyes with first and 10 here dropping back it's mcnamer makes a quick grab look at the speed there they finally bring him down but it's a nice Game Chris how about the offensive balance these last couple of plays we're seeing from these guys not only are they balance but the explosiveness a big run followed up by a big play through the air and puts a lot of pressure on this defense tackled behind the line it's a loss of two I think we all kind of get caught up in third down what what it's an offense doing on third down but I think what's also important is well you defend first down if you can hold your opponents to a short gain or a tackle for a loss you throw the offense out of whack and their game plan gets much more challenging to try to come up with that first down here comes a first down pass attempt quick throw misses his Mark there incomplete we know it's not an easy job to go out and catch passes when people try to tackle you and knock the ball away but the bottom line is that's a pass you got to have to come up with and make a catch pitch tries the right with a quick throw that one Falls incomplete looking for a flag doesn't get it brings up third down you get it tight end like this and you know he's used to dishing out the punishment but here he's the one that has to absorb the contact and as a result he's unable to hold on to the football close to the tight end he's got it right near the end zone for set of bounds but a nice gain there and the offense will have a first and goal the hawkey trying to punch it in it's first and goal first and goal they'll try to run it in smarther for no gain and that'll do it for the first quarter so KK as we break for the quarter Oregon has the lead here and at the end of the first quarter let's check out the stats so far plenty of time for some plot twists here as we begin in the second quarter crucial play here to begin the quarter as the offense sets up with a second and goal looking to pass it's mcneer defense is coming after him he throws it away a smart choice that time but it will bring up third down here come some more big bodies out for the defense look at a throw on Third and goal launching one to the end zone and he's got it touchdown Iowa methodical but effective probably one of the most impressive drives we've seen in a conference Championship Game hey I have to agree with you long drives like that but like a great can slowly layering all the intricate facets until you have a masterpiece completed that dve was put together in the same fashion just masterful execution on that drive getting set to kick the ball off now bringing it out it's low tackled at the 12 the coach wishes he'd left that one in the end zone and that powerful Oregon offense retakes the field they scored a touchdown on the last possession let's see if this defense has been able to come up with some adjustments and stop him this time finds a man open on the right side downfield he tackled short of the 30 but that's good enough for a first down Bo a nice completion here by this Oregon offense to be able to show you it's not just about the quarterback's ability to run often you associate that with that Oregon quarterback right that dual threat guy guy that can run it not forget about their ability to throw the football at in Eugene think about Darren Thomas the career that he had started for a few years took his team all the way to the National Championship made some big throws Justin Herbert of course enough said we see it every NFL Sunday what he can do foure starter for the Ducks oh sack the senior on this defense making a big play The Defender did not fight on the fake at all they were in pass rush mode the entire time this pass rush has been a problem another sack sets up second and [Applause] long here comes a handoff oh look at the quick cut tackle finally made that's a very solid gain but not close to first down yardage here offense needing to keep this drive alive it's a third down play scanning the field it's Gabriel they got him defense comes up with a sack that's a really nice job of bouncing back by this defense after giving up that big gain this time they get the pressure and bring that quarterback down and fourth down they'll punt it away here on the return it's brown but he's got some space here and he's going to head out of bounds but not before picking up some good yardage on the return and the hawkey offense is back out on the field first play of the drive they'll come out throwing quick conv to the tight end the ball to the ground it's a good hold on a second the replay official has signaled that he wants to have another look at this play so after taking a closer look the officials are going to overturn that previous ruling on the field playaction fake looking to throw and they hit him just as he releases the ball it's incomplete man you got to love this if you're defensive coordinator it's all about affecting the quarterback and getting pressure on him this time they got to him and forced that incompletion going to pick up the third and short through the air hey it's a game but you get the sense that this offense wanted a little bit more from that play and the Hawkeyes line up on First and 10 now and he'll set up to throw receiver looks it in it's complete he stopped and gets it first down that's a nice pick up there they find some space in the zone and pick up the first down yeah really nice call here Chris to be able to pick up this first down on this drag route the quarterback does a nice job of being patient waiting for that window to open up in that zone and he put it right on the money for the receiver to have a chance to not just catch it but eventually get the first the completion makes it second down Quick Pass here comes a jet sleep in a big game before he goes out of bounds the offense keeps churning gets a fresh set of downs the defense has got to do a much better job here of adjusting to the pre- snap motion they just kind of stayed in place and it gave the receiver plenty of room there to make a nice play Keep It on the Ground on first and goal muscles across the goal line touchdown hawy here comes the point after attempt Chris is a great touchdown run here by this back but the continuity this offensive line was on display and that's the reason he was able to get into the end zone kickoff team on the field getting set now fielded In The End Zone it's low his tackle at the 10 not good field position to start the drive and the Oregon offense coming back out on the field last Drive stall will were forced to pun it away let's see what they can come up with this time out of the shotgun he'll hand her off defense makes the tackle on the ball carrier that back just had no to go got to give credit to the defense and their run fits on that play here's the second down play on the run it's Winnington they tackle him about the 14 well let's give credit to the offensive line here they went with a run blitz the offensive line sees it picks it up gives them enough room to pick up some solid yards interesting play call here third and short inside their own 20 want to get this drive going or a punt could give the opponents excellent field position fires it to the wide out grab down the middle it's Dicky they bring him down but an explosive play by this offense big game a lot of times college quarterbacks are more comfortable working to the outside here's an example of a quarterback with a full field read and he hits a big play in the middle here's the handoff and he's able to find some Running Room nice pickup just love watching this back run Gets behind that offensive line lowers his pads and it's a nice solid game second down after that previous play hand off from the shotgun breaks lose at the 40 it's a huge game all the way down inside the 30 the ducks come to the line in the hurry up there's nothing more that helps an offense than committing to that running game and popping an explosive run like this on the ground keeps the confidence of your offensive lineup same with your back it helps everything else that you're doing as an offense in Rhythm now you can come back with some counters try to take some shots off of play action and keep hammering away with that run game here comes the bunch formation an inside give now from the shotgun tackled behind the line it's a loss of two the back just had nowhere to go how about the defensive line all the blocks up front freeing those linebackers up to be able to make the play just a bad Play All Around for this offense drops back needing a third down completion here and he finds a wide open receiver they forgot about him down field now that's what I call coming through for your team in a pressure situation great read got the ball where it needed to go and now you're set up to get six here's the hand off on First and Goal Zero Running Room stopped right at the line of scrimmage that's an excellent effort here by this defense staying in their run fit they holding their own at the line and making the tackle the offense just couldn't get enough of a push to get anything going there second down and goal to throw it's Gabriel catch made on the left side touchdown Ducks strong game by this quarterback perfect timing here by this quarterback great read puts the ball where his man can make a play on it and they're an extra point away from tying this game up and the p is good the pat ties the game here in the second quarter now kickoff team has come on the field now to send this one away here's the fair catch by The Return [Applause] Man Okay so the Hawkeyes offense is back out on field the last possession was a passing game Clinic they would get right down for a touchdown can they keep it going off Target and incomplete getting set here's second down off play action he's looking to throw he's running out of time here and the pass is just thrown away clearly intentional grounding and here comes the penalty Mark and the head coach will deci to accept the penalty and take the yardage well a serious challenge for this offense you don't want to be in third and long inside your own 20 how much of a risk will they take to try to pick up this first down quack drops back from the shotgun and he's looking to make a big play downfield the pass is intercepted as he throws into double coverage that time that's a pick and a long return before finally being taken down first down here for this offense looking out throwing here to start the drive got him for a sack a big play made by one of the senior leaders of this defense nothing is more gratifying for a defense to be able to sit back in Play Zone and still get pressure on the quarterb your defensive front looking downfield it's Gabriel that's a fly to the wide out pass ball is incomplete there was a lot of contact no penalty brings up third down secondary backed up off the ball now looking for some space it's Whittington they'll tackle him for a loss of five yds and now the defense decides to spend a time out to regroup a will line up to punt it away you can see he's a dangerous Return Man they finally grab him but he sets the offense up in pretty good field position and the Iowa offense is back out on the field we'll see if this quarterback can shake off the interception he threw in the last posession wow lays out and makes a spectacular catch the Hawkeyes will hustle to the line to crank the tempo on First and 10 here looking to throw the ball short pass finds the tight end that's a big game before he goes out of bounds it'll move the sticks more than enough for a first out how aggressive do you get on First and 10 this is what coaches love to see a quarterback with the ability to read the def properly and then just get it to the open man sometimes it sounds simple but it's tough to execute this time we have good recognition by the quarterback then he gets it down to the tight end you can see what he can do after the catch the offense comes back out there not much time left perhaps just time for a couple plays before the half the pocket breaking down just gets the pass away but took a shot that time [Music] offense been in Reverse here now a long way to go to convert this third down droping back you're going to throw for the first down the sophomore able to get home with the sack now the offense will call a timeout here something they didn't like about what they saw there want to make an adjustment before this critical down needs a completion here on fourth down there's a shot toward the end zone and it's picked off in the The End [Applause] Zone M's going to wrap up the first half here let's kick it down to Kevin Connors with our halftime update thanks Chris two quarters down in the Big 10 championship ship couple of incredibly worthy teams battling for their rightful place in the history of this great conference it's been a fun start to this one and this offense has really been the story they've opened up a sizable lead and unless something drastic changes things might get even more out of hand a combination of Leal efficiency and that offensive line has been the key they've mauled that defense and also just about broken their will and with that let's send it back to fris and Kirk and the exciting conclusion of the Big 10 Championship all right thank you for the update Kevin appreciate it he'll bring it out from his end zone tackled at the 14 not very good field position to start here and the Hawkeyes offense is back out on the field first play of the third quarter is a handoff tackle after a solid game they'll spot the ball for 31 you everybody always wants to talk about quarterbacks today and receivers and don't get me wrong that's a big part of the evolution of the game and where we are man for me as a fan when I'm watching the game there's just something satisfying about the teams and the offenses that still have backs that can carry the ball and come up with plays like that move those sticks and keep this drive going to the air it's m Nero that's going to be incomplete a lot of contact no flag brings up third down everything about this play tells you about today's offenses and what they're asking out of their running backs you can't just be a guy who runs the football anymore you have to be able to catch it as well and he didn't do a very good job of it on this play and a huge game before he scores out of bounds big yardage to set up a fresh set of downs and the Hawkeyes pick up enough yardage to move the sticks and the ball is handed off out of the shotgun he picks up the first down before they get him to the ground nothing better than an offense on first down to be able to pick up big positive yards like that you can either keep giving it to the back or it can set up play action and get the defense to come up to the line of scrimmage and you can throw it over top of it that's a nice wrap up there by the Junior with the defensive coordinator this week all week telling us about Gap Integrity not giving this running back any is it all really sound defense on that play off the play Fade looking to throw the football looking for the tight end and it's caught and he's tackled but only after picking up a first down the Hawkeyes come to the line to set a fresh set of downs first down looking to throw the ball on the run here lets it Go caught quickly brought down but the completion moves the ball to the six defense getting pushed back down here in the Red Zone every yard tough to find here is a crucial play coming up here's the snap offense looking to throw the ball quarterback escapes the pocket and takes off he throws the ball out of bounds there smart not to take a sack on that play brings up third down they convert here on third down in the Red Zone this is a fourpoint type of play touchdown or field goal looking to Chuck it again makes the catch can he get in touchdown Iowa they will claim the second half lead if they were backed up to start the drive with some B play calling great execution from Lu Enzo you know it's easy to just kind of pull your horns in and get conservative when you're pushed way back close to your own goal line but not this offense they came out showed the confidence that they have in their quarterback and it paid off nice touchdown pickoff team is on the field to boot this one away bringing it out it's low he's brought down at the 12 that's po field position to start the drive and the duck's powerful offense is back on the field this group was coming off a quick three and out and they put something together in this drive from the shotgun it's a hand off and the defense able to hold him there to a short gain second down play coming up and the back gets the football it's test the middle but get stuck that one goes nowhere the Ducks will crank up the [Applause] tempo and he'll drop back here on third down oh just gives up on the play throws it away and now it's Fourth Down the Ducks will line up to PL it away bringing it back it's brown they finally get him down but that's a solid return good work by the return now okay so the Hawkeyes offense is back out on the field they had a brilliant touchdown Drive last time mixing the run and the pass can they keep that going again they get him down but that's a solid game man you know the back gets a lot of the attention here he's a good back I love to see that offensive line win the battle of the line of scmm looking downfield it's m Nero it's a short completion to the big tight end and they tackle him but not before he picks up the first good job of reading the blitz here by the quarterback and it doesn't matter where it's coming from the tight end knows that they become a big part of the passing game because they should be in Outlet anytime you see that kind of pressure exra bodies are starting to come after the quarterback quarterback's going to turn and get the ball out of his hands quickly this time going to tied end for the first down second down after that run on the previous play play action fake looking to throw they bring the Heat and the blitz Works theyve got him I like the call here but you can't run long developing playaction passes like that that if the offensive line is not going to give the quarterback time to throw looking to throw it on Third and very long caught over the middle it's Williams he's not going to get the first down it's fourth down now the coach chooses to go for a field goal attempt here this will be an attempt from 52 yd let's see if he's got the distance and that is no good after the Miss it's still a seven-point lead boy this guy's usually more reliable than I thought that was going to be an easy Fiel go in three points but instead he misses so you walk away with nothing takes the hand off it's James nice run he's brought down to the 44 second down play coming up out of the shotgun it off breaks loose at the 45 heads out of bounds after a solid gain more than enough to pick up a first down a solid run good for first down yardage pre snap motion from the offense they fliper to him on the Jet Sweep he gains nine so it's second and one you know the good thing about this play is it's not an explosive play but it really gives a chance now to be able to pick up the first down here on this next play to the air it's Gabriel looking right this one caught not much after the catch but it is good enough for a first down I understand the concept of bringing the Blitz and you hope that it gets home but if you don't you leave your corner a manto man situation against this wide receiver that is a tough ask for this corner and he's going to lose that battle more often than not Here Comes second down now every play important down here in the Red Zone The Backs got it again the junior able to bring him down quickly crucial third down coming up in the Red Zone can they keep the drive going or will they have to settle for free try and muscle for the first down brought down but it's past the line to game you know even though that these guys are facing a deficit they're not just going all through the air love the fact that you're running the football keeping this defense honest not panicking by just throwing every single down you got a new set of downs and a chance to keep moving the ball down the field they'll stop him behind the line for a loss and one so off the loss it's second and goal from the seven breaks the tackle to get back to the line of scrimmage but that's it well they get stopped here on second down is going to bring up a third and goal situation and from this far back out wouldn't be surprised to see them go through the air just don't want the quarterback to take a sack here make sure he gets the ball out of his hands quickly there's no one to throw to there on third down now it's a fourth down coming up hey the good news is here Chris they're still in field goal range and they didn't cost any points but it could have more got to be thinking about going for this on Fourth and short unable to try out the field goal team here no problem knocks it right through well they almost put a touchdown on the board but instead they come away with three points [Music] [Music] following the field goal the kickoff team is out there now Fields it just outside the goal line will'll be tackled at the 18 that's good coverage there and the Iowa offense is back out on the field they need something out of this possession the last time they settled for a field goal attempt but then they missed it a short completion with the tight end moves the ball out across the 30 that's good for a first down the tight end drag route is the perfect option for offense looking to scheme that position open for some yardage perfect execution here for first [Applause] down offense comes up to the line he might have a chance for a couple more plays before the quarter dropping back it's m Nero looking for his Bat wow a third pick tonight by the QB and a Bild take away by the defense on the final play of the quarter so Iowa has the big lead here so far we reached the end of the third time is running out to cut into this lead let's check out the game sacks before we go on here we go first play of the quarter offense has a first down from the shotgun hand off inside the gain is three now it's second down and seven see that's how you limit what an offense wants to do this time the defense just wanting to battle up front at the line of scrimmage not giving up any big plays everybody's Gap sound it's really solid defense on up and the pass is intercepted a takeway for the defense he's got some open field ahead to a great return following the pck are finally able to get him down when a quarterback gets drilled on this play Chris as he lets go of that ball before the interception I think he was just trying to get it out didn't seem to have a chance to set his feet up and what did it do made it a lot easier for the defender to come up with the interception ball handed off they tackle him looks like it's going to be just short of the marker inches away second down play coming up for this offense takes the hand off looking to throw he'll try a pass here grab down the middle it's Williams and the Hawkeyes are on the move here boy the defense brought the blitz but the quarterback not only recognizes it but knows where to go with the football finds the back out of the back field and picks up a first down tackle but not before he gets into enemy territory at the 45 hey you got to do what you got to do you got to rely on that offensive line in the running game here to be able to secure a victory good call and just keep working that clock going to run it it's Washington goes backwards Los three yards there Chris texbook job by the defense surrounding the runner and preventing that play from being bounced to the outside offense showing a bunch formation now dropping back it's mamero finds a man downfield that's a big gain to the right brought down but not before he picks up the first down nice game we'll see if the defense stays in zone after that big play they can change things up on this drive and get a little bit more aggressive and now the handoff he picks up nine so just short of the first down second and one man I like the Run play here and offensively at this point in the game you want to remain in that attack mode first while also staying in Bound and working that clock quarterback wants to throw it on second down he flips it to the back across the middle they WRA them up but the gain is good enough for a first down the archives come to the line to set a fresh set of downs [Applause] they're going to run it here goes backwards losing three yards there cuz that play just didn't have much of a chance at all from the snap quarterback hands this off and just nowhere to go it's almost like the defense was anticipating the play call and they put themselves in a position to come up with a nice tackle for a loss they bring him down that's a very solid game but still well short of the first down a lot of times these types of plays either to go for nothing or they can go for a huge chunk of yards here they do a nice job of getting it to the outside turning it up field and ended up getting a nice gain out of it third down play here out of the shotgun he be to the tight end for a completion doesn't quite get in but it SS up a first and goal for this offense well the offense a chance to extend the lead but more importantly milk the clock here late in the game dropping back it's m Nero and it's caught touchdown hawkey they're setting out to try to Pat extra point is up and goods the lead now is 11 here in the final quarter now they get set to kick it [Applause] away fielded In The End Zone it's low tackled at the 13 not great field position to start the drive and the Oregon def is back out on the field this offense trying to bounce back the last possession and then in a pick big guys up front lined up it's first down they'll come out throwing here to start the drive fires it to the wide out looks down field and finds a receiver who worked his way wide open and he's brought down but it's a first down for the completion and tackled there by the defense CH that's another nice pick up through the air I I thought they might be really just out to run the football here with the lead but instead they're electing to throw the football different routes quarterbacks in Rhythm really it's almost an extension of their [Applause] passing hand off as he try to work the clock here and the Hawkeyes looking to keep this drive rolling look I realize on any play call when it's properly executed it can go to the house for a touchdown but the runs that really make a game plan work are the ones where you get just what you need and he barely got the first down but he got it first down here time for one more play before the clock stops for the two-minute warning and that's the two-minute warning this offense looking to run out the clock and secure an impressive win here today this line getting set up it's a first down play hand off here from the shotgun finding space at the 20 touchdown AOW still no answer for this offense he just breaks away and takes it to the house from distance that's an elite running back type of play you know when he got out into the open field I didn't know if he had the speed to take that thing all the way to the house but he does that's level speed extra point up and good they build the lead to 18 during the final quarter now the kickoff team is out on the field and he'll just take a knee Drive will start at the 25 yd line and the powerful Ducks offense retakes the field well this has been a disappointment they've had their doors blown off here he's playing for pride at this point on First and 10 they'll look to throw it and the senior making a disruptive impact play now they've got to hustle to the line and get set scanning the field it's Gabriel quick as much clock as possible there's the SN just takes a knee it's always a special year when after all the work you put in you can call yourselves champions of the Big 10 and now with the playoff spot
