hello hello [Music] everyone welcome to Chalk in history with Shelly KCK I'm Shelly happy labor day today we're going to make some fun earrings fun fun fun [Music] there we go oops got rid of the guys are doing well we're get this sprinkled out hello Instagram hello shill hello fdla fun Jennifer hello hello say hi guys what's everyone's plans today we're g to have a little I guess we're we're not really cooking out but we're smoking a whole chicken today so that's fun and of course we'll have all the sides let's get this sprinkled out couple more spots here if you guys have some really fun craft groups um that you haven't seen chak Couture in give us a Sprinkle let's share it far and wide all right there we go see if we get any comments All right we are going to play with our earthy patterns jewelry kit and it's earrings so I'm kind of excited and we're going to do it uh Labor Day style so red white and blue today you do get a black velvet and a um I want to say that's gold Shimmer let's take a peek you'll get your little single packets oh I think it's white so you get Shimmer Gold bright white and black velvet we're not going to open these because we're going to use red white and blue so we'll save these for another day I will take that baby uh mini squeege cuz we'll use that this is garbage um you get a an as size transfer with three little patterns so these are called earthy patterns this is like a little cheetah pattern this here is you can see it's flowers cute and this this kind of looks like a cobblestone I think to me that's what kind of pattern I would say that is so three cute very cute um patterns however you could do whatever you want on your earrings um if you get some transfer tape or if you have um oh gosh what's that tape called washi tape is just as good um you can make stripes on there crisscrosses whatever you want to do use any of your other pattern transfers that you may have um anything all the Christmas ones would be so pretty on there all the ones we've had in the past would look amazing on these uh fun little earrings all right so then you get the three kits the three earrings sets we'll get those open in a minute and then of course you get a um written instructions uh word for word not necessarily by video but you see that there's a QR code there if you guys scan that with your mobile device camera it will bring up uh the video and it it's not like a step by step they kind of show you a portion of it then they kind of fast forward um but it is a good little direction if you need reminders on how to make these we're going to step those put those aside here one thing it does say drip some glue there one thing it does say where are they it does say let me get my glasses um it says specifically designed surface for use with chocology paste and transfers surfaces must be sealed after paste is applied it's a one-time use product because it's wood and it's porous right um I would seal it we do have um a product called Gator hide it's a very good sealant I haven't used it yet I have seen others use it now the thing is when you have dried paste on something you don't want to be constantly uh brushing this Gator hide on so you kind of want to put a very very thin layer um and probably in a very ventilated area I kind of am in a ventilated area but it does say um where does it say that if inhaled move person to fresh air so if I do this I might go outside with those honestly I I do have some also some spray um sealants that I like to use I like the Rustoleum uh the aen has a really nice top coat trying to think who the other one is there's three that I like to use um so if you have a spray go ahead and use that too that's fine or just be very careful uh putting on the gator hide okay or Mod Podge has like a dishwasher safe uh sealant and a chalkboard finish sealant um a glossy sealant whatever however you want your earrings to look that's what you can seal it with but I would probably say to seal it only because if you know you're banging around and they're in your uh jewelry drawer or you know just banging around together they may chip off um you never know things things happen right all right so let's get started so you got a circle disc earring you have open diamond earrings and Teardrop earrings all right I'm trying to think if we have a tiny teeny tiny star pattern I should have looked for that let's see what we have over here no that's kind of Christmasy um I have a bunch of Fourth of July stuff over here let me see what I have o this would be fun to put those oh this this is what we're going to do we're going to use uh this is the Americana icons transfer so hopefully I don't know if this is still available hopefully it is but oh my gosh we're going to use this portion right here and you could either use we could either use the teardrop ones or the circles I think I'm going to do the circles we'll use that for this these two will use these patterns on okay so we're going to kind of mix it up a little bit all right so let's think about how we need to paint these let's get them out of their packages also one thing I would recommend it also comes with brush um get yourselves a pair or two of the um needle nose pliers for jewelry these will be very helpful for you um and especially like if you um I'm going to start probably making my own earring um earring pieces I guess you could say shapes and you'll need those to put your uh all the settings and stuff on there so let's get these out findings I guess they call them findings so as you see they are all put together already which I'm going to take them up apart because I feel like it'll be so much easier to get them colored um you know so so that you're not messing around that hole there we're going to take ours oh see all right well we're missing a an earring finding here so I guess we won't be doing those today I'm going to take a quick picture of that because I will need to report that and they will send me um they'll send me a new one okay let's get back to that honestly I do have my own earring finding so I probably won't reach out to them but if you do find that you're missing pie pieces definitely reach out there's a chat button when you go to my website at the bottom and they're only open a few hours during the day uh where they can live chat with you otherwise you can send them an email and they will um get back to you okay so let's do the round one then today all right so I myself recommend taking these apart just because I feel like that'll be easier to get them colored so I'm going to grab one end and I'm oops and I'm going to come in here I'm going to get super duper close for you guys so you can see what the heck I'm doing you'll see where this round little piece comes together all right so I'm going to grab this half and then I'm going to grab this half and I'm going to kind of gently open that ring up okay that's called a jump ring see did I open it big enough if you need to open it a little bit more be careful there we go we opened it a little bit more so now we got it apart from that piece and we'll take take it off of that piece just be careful you don't lose all the pieces same thing with this one we're just going to gently kind of un unopen that there I'm going to open the other side a little bit oh than okay came off the chain too so just keep all those pieces Parts all right this is not wanting to open there we go all right so there's those two pieces let's get this one open just think of the possibilities with these earrings you can do them for all the holidays oranges and Browns you can do it uh for the fall you could do your favorite football team colors all the holidays and depending what kind of transfers you have all kinds of things like you could do it for birthdays holidays I think would be fun so you can have your very own handmade earrings and people will say oh my gosh where did you get those earrings and you could say I made them you could sell them if you like to go to craft fairs you can make just a whole bunch of earrings and sell them that would be fun too okay you could put those aside for now okay so here's what I'm thinking I'm going to do the red on the top so the top piece will be red bottom piece will be blue and then we're going to let's see actually we need to paint it white because then this will be all blue wherever it's white on our silk screen that's what the color will be so we need to paint these white to make the white stars okay you'll see as I do that and then the top um I was going to say maybe we do Stripes gosh we could do the stripes if we concentrated on this area right here that might not be enough though and I think that's too big I think we we'll just keep those that a plain red we're not going to and I don't think we'll use this I don't think we need to use that for this okay let's open our Cherry we're going to use our Cherry today and get some foam brushes here I'm just going to use one of these rounded ones and we're just going to pounce it in there a little bit and we're just gonna let's see before I do that put that down I'm going to cut up this last little thing of adhesive strips here I'm going to make little teeny pieces so that I can hold my wood pieces down uh you could absolutely do both sides so we will definitely be doing that so we're just going to temporarily put this down so that it'll hold it down for us or like I've done before is we've put it on our ink mats because that is sticky and that will hold your whatever you're painting wood pieces or whatever hello Reba how are you okay now with this let's make sure we're doing the mirror image here so they match I think that's the mirror image right so line them up and then flip one over that way you know which the mirror image is that would be especially important if you were doing a pattern or something on it we're just going to paint ours red so it doesn't really matter but it's good to have that thought process when you're creating trying to peel this little paper and it's just not wanting to come up there we go again this is just to keep it stuck down a little bit here temporarily let's now I lost it again let me find there we go is that the nope that's not it either hold on there we go she okay press that down probably easier to use the ink mat but all good okay let's get these guys colored up here again we're just going to do this guy red I kind of like that gives it a pattern so that will give it a little bit of Interest doing Cherry okay perfect let's get our white remember we need to use white so that when we chalk over it with blue the white stars will show up so I'm just going to dip my foam brush in here if you guys don't want to use your chalk paste when you're actually coloring the wood pieces that's fine you can use uh you know your acrylic paints or watercolor paints or whatever it is you have and like to use when being creative with the white I will definitely add a wax layer because we're going to put the blue on top and I don't want the transfer to pull up any of the white okay perfect let's go ahead and get this dry hi Kathy hi Edith how are you we're playing with an earring kit uh if you guys want if you're local and you want to uh grab some girlfriends and make some earrings with me let's get a class together I would love to do that I love love love holding workshops I have a uh a studio out in Maro Ohio where we do those kind of things so let me know let me know these are going to be so [Applause] cute okay all dry let's get our wax we're just going to wax the white we're not going to do anything um we're not doing anything to our red tops I'm just kind of warming up my wax a little bit here so it spreads nice and easy it just warms it up it's not really going to melt it unless I sat here for a long time because this isn't hot enough to really melt it quickly yes over time it would melt it but it just softens it up a little bit so that I can use my little wax thing here okay so we're just going to give it a coat of wax and then I'm going to get a paper towel um we also have wax applicators it kind of looks like this but they're um teal color I have to order more you could always buff that with that but we're just going to buff with a paper towel here and what we're just doing is applying kind of like a barrier we're trying to protect that white especially because we're going to put a color on top if it was the other way around if these were blue and I was putting white on top I would oops most certainly want to protect that only because when you put white on top of a color it starts to seep into the color underneath it if it doesn't have that wax barrier and so like a red would turn pink and that has happened okay let's get our um this is the Americana icons in the description of the video there is a cart link called earrings kit however I did not add this in there because I wasn't thinking at the moment so if you need a link to the Americana icons comment icons and I can get that for you or you could just search for Americana on my website and they should pull up all right also going to write on the back of my transfer here Americana icons and this is the flag all right because we have uh waxed and buffed we don't have to do anything to our transfer sometimes we have to fuzz it if we're putting things on a really um like a glass or a plastic or acrylic it really sticks to those surfaces and those are kind of surfaces that you can't wax like you can't wax a drinking glass all right let's find a good spot let's find a good spot think I'm going to do it this is kind of turned so I'm going to try to I'm going to use the earring hole as my level kind of area here I'm going to try to draw like a visual line so from that hole I'm kind of just going straight down all right now we're going to get out our Cadet and we're going to get a squeegee make sure it's nice and clean and then we're going to chalk it so now remember it's going to be white under there those Stars will be white want to make sure you get that whole circle sure we get that excess off okay oh my gosh I can't wait to see what this looks like I am excited careful of that paper oh my gosh look how fun those would be great for 4th of July Memorial Day veterans day oh my gosh so cute so cute let's get that dry like I said we could do this for all the holidays we have fall patterns we have Christmas patterns Easter patterns oh my gosh so [Applause] cute all right guys guys I am loving loving that if you guys love this press that heart button all right so you could see in the transfer I'll hold it over the white do you see like that dot above that star that will be great for helping us line that up we're going to just put that there kind of pounce that down make sure it's nice and flat against your earrings let's get our squeegee loaded up and do it again make sure that whole disc gets covered oh my gosh how fun are those all right and then we'll remove yay how cute so cute let's put this aside get that dried up oh I love them and it matches my shirt and I have like a Fourth of July pattern pants on love love love don't forget we're going to have to turn them around and do the other side now the other side we won't stick down because then it'll peel it off so we might get a little messy or you could do the other side just white or just the blue if you didn't want to do the stars cuz honestly it shouldn't spin the way that the hooks are it should not spin so you really shouldn't see the back cbes C cute cbes all right what do you guys think are you in love okay we can pull those off it comes right off all right let's get rid of that those are like those glue thingies they put on mailing sometimes like when they mail you your credit cards you just kind of roll that right off okay goodness goodness goodness all right let's do the other side so what I'm gonna also do is I'm gonna put down the backer from that transfer I'm going to flip these okay and then let's get our cherry red here's where we might get a little dirty ah if I could hold it that would be great and I'm pouncing it and it's giving it a very um look at this like a speckled pattern not a pattern but a texture on there same thing with this one let's get a little bit more here get it all colored up there we go ah oh which side did it land on the Wet Side of course okay again sheesh okay now let me wipe up my fingers all right you're off screen oh probably yeah Instagram has a very little tiny window I apologize for that all right let's get that dry actually let's do the lower so it's not as strong I like the Cherry too it gets a little bit darker so it's a nice dark red and what I'm probably going to do is I'm just going to probably color The Backs um of the circles white we're just going to keep it white like I said no one's going to see it but by chance it does happen to turn around it'll be all white okay all right let's put those aside let's put those and grab our White again just kind of it's inevitable guys I'm going to get chalk paint all over me chalk paste like I said no one's really going to see that back so don't worry about it too much okay these are fun got to tell you I also have like colored wood which I'm going to try cutting some shapes on just to see how those look I bet you they're going to look so fun okay let's put those aside let's get that dry and then we're going to put it together yay and then we'll do those other earrings um like I said I'm missing one of the earring findings I don't think it was in the other packaging so we'll have to get a replacement for that [Applause] [Applause] what do you guys [Applause] think I think they're very cute so cute [Applause] all right all right guys here's our fun earrings turn those back around I'm going to just use a wipe and get that off put that there all right let's clean up for a moment and then we're going to put everything together put our there there close everything up look how simple that was you guys very very simple actually I don't know if I want to do I don't think I'm going to do those red white and blue I think we're going to use uh what we were well not what we were given let's do black and I kind of want to do maybe we'll do nominee and disco for the other ones I think that would be very cool for this pair okay all right let's put that aside let's put these guys together so I don't really think it matters how these are turned just make sure it's the mirror mirr image okay that's all you need to worry about is making sure it's the mirror image I say one one into there let's see how this is so this will connect that okay so we're going to take this put it through there and then we're going to put the red piece in there then I'm going to take my handy dandy pliers like I said needle noose jewelry pliers would be a plus or if you don't want to open up you don't have to open it up you can definitely keep these now I got to make sure I got it right here you could definitely keep them together if you don't want to mess with that there we go so there's that piece F that poke it through there you may have some wet paste in that hole so be careful with that I'm just going to pinch these together okay oh my goodness how fun is that now we got the top piece and then this guy so when you're holding it hold this H uh the part that goes in your ear hole your earring hole towards the back oh my goodness how cute so cute again earring hole facing the back so that you have the right colors in the front and then I'm just kind of bringing these two halves together oh my goodness can you see wa minute how cute I'm definitely going to probably just rub those down with some alcohol just to make sure they're nice and clean before I put them in my ears how fun is that oh my gosh too fun all right we're going to push these up here let's do these guys and use the transfers that it came with so I think I might do the Cobblestone for here that's what I think I'm going to do let's get these guys out again earthy patterns jewelry kits that's what we're working with today and you guys this you could use these for other things you could use these for um I wonder if it's a repeating pattern I don't know if it's a repeating pattern not but you could use it on our coasters you can use it on just little things that we have in our shop how cute okay we need to take these apart again I just feel like that's the easiest way instead of monking around you know the little tip tops of those holes I just feel like it's so much easier to do that so we're going to kind of just pull those apart again a lot of people will just kind of twist them too instead of opening them they will twist them so so let's try that technique let's see here where's the opening I got to find the opening here not sure where the earring opening of this little jump ring is so that's where I'm trying to find it I'll just grab on each end and Pull and see what happens there we go I found it okay so that's that piece might have nicked up the wood a little bit so we're just going to turn that guy over let's find this one sometimes they're so well lined up that they're so hard to find there's that there we go and then this one there it is I see it I see it and just be gentle be careful around the wood it is thin wood it's only an eighth of an an inch so it is a little delicate and you don't want to crack anything so be gentle trying to grab that other one it's not allowing it and maybe this is why some people don't want to take that off but I've done oh gosh I've worked with jewelry making and for so many years that uh I would rather this be apart if I can get it apart it's not there we go okay there we go all right what color let's do I'm thinking we'll do 1/2 where did all that come from do we do one let's see trying to think if I want to color them all one color and then do the pattern in another you know I'm saying do I want to paint them with the Disco and then chalk with the nominee or do I want to I think cuz one color will go on top of the other so let's do I think I'm going to paint with disco and then we'll chalk with the nominee those were colors of the month by the way and um the nominee is now in our permanent color lineup I hope they bring disco into the lineup because I really like that color let's use a paintbrush let's see how that works now these are different from our shimmers these are more like a metallic paste I really love these kind of got my thumb in there let's go over that definitely try to go all in the same direction okay let's get another one done here hi Pam hi Sheila how are you guys today happy Labor [Music] Day hope everyone's going to have a safe day today hope your fur babies stay safe because I'm sure people will be blowing off fireworks honestly we have um my daughter and I of course have the pups they're almost two and but they still don't have any idea like to be afraid of fireworks they don't they sleep right through it and aren't bothered by it which is nice I don't know if that comes with age or if they're outside when that happens not sure what Spooks animals when it comes to fireworks okay so we're do them both pieces here I love this nominee I think this is so cool it's like a peor it's not quite silver it's a peor color so I think that'll look great with this Cobblestone transfer but we can use any transfer any pattern any little pattern you have will look amazing okay all right let's get those dry this stuff out of the way for now let's get these pieces dry then we're going to give them a quick little wax right cuz we're going to do the nominee on top and then we'll be all done I can't I I could do the other pair but I want to wait till I get the earring replacement the little earring finding or if I have one like it I'll do it but I have to dig through all my stuff now the shimmers and the Glitters they take a little bit longer to dry so we're going to make sure they're nice and dry before we continue what's everybody doing for dinner we're doing um we're smoking a whole chicken and then I have some ribs in the oven we uh cook those really really slow and they literally um my husband has a hard time getting them on the grill they fall off the bone before he can almost get it to the grill just to put the barbecue sauce on [Applause] so when you're going through your kit make sure you have all these little pieces parts for your findings uh so that you can complete it if you don't again chatur will take care of that for you they'll replace it immediately just go through the live link or you can always send them a an email if it's not during their live hours okay I think those should be okay yep okay looks good guys looks good all right let's get this transfer let's get our paste covered up here let's bring out our nominee oo I love it I love love lony all right we're just going to use this pattern I'm going to cut these apart even though there's no cut lines I'm doing it guys I'm really doing it I'm just going to kind of angle that just so I know what and I'll angle this side too that way I know which ones belong where I'm going to put it how it is and I want to label them earthy and I'm going to say three earthy two earthy one now I'm going to flip them back over and I'm going to put a one and two and three okay there we go and we're going to use just three today I think I just like three these guys over wax need to wax let's get our wax out this wax is I think I'm getting down to the nitty-gritty of my wax so sometimes when I warm it up it softens it a little bit which is good it helps spread a little nicer using your uh trip dry tool it does take quite a bit to get it melted like you see it it'll start to kind of have a little sweat on there that's good enough I could just kind of swirl my thing in there we're just going to put a little just a little wax on there this guy gets all crumbly on me I think I'm at the end of this wax the wax life all right then what we're going to do is buff that off and then it should be nice and shiny again get that Center out of there what's nice about this think about that that little middle piece um is the same shape from the middle there I don't know if they've cut it out from there but it's pretty darn close so that's kind of clever you're saving uh wood supply there so if you have your own machine like I do it's you find everywhere every way possible to save supplies especially with wood wood is expensive these days and I can't get like a huge sheet I just I wouldn't be able to cut it down unless I had like Home Depot or somebody cut it down for me but okay perfect let's let get rid of the crumbs here okay all right guys the last ones here let's get these done take it off the backer sheet save your backer sheet because you will definitely need to put your transfer back on there once it's nice and clean oh you know what we could do let's do let's put these in the middle okay bring up and close here then we're going to kind of just throw this on top let's let's tilt it a little bit so that we can make sure we get a good pattern on these okay and then I'm going to kind of just do this okay rub those down real nice let's get clean squeegee this came in our kit you also get three singles you get the um gold Shimmer Black Velvet and bright white you don't have to use those you could save those for another project um like I did I did the red white and blue we're doing the nominee and the Shimmer or the Disco okay oh you guys this is going to look pretty cool I think make sure you get that entire shape okay go around the edges just to make sure these are going to be fun fun to wear okay you guys I barely like used a drop of that it's crazy so crazy oh my goodness how fun are those okay wait how how stinking bun oh my goodness you probably really can't see that well because of the glare can you see better oh boy if those for those of you that say I don't know I kind of like gold jewelry I like silver jewelry you can wear both with these I love it all right let's get them dry again shimmers Glitters take a while so let's make sure that's [Music] done oh have you ever got have you ever heard of um oh gosh what is it called like card makers and scrap Bookers will use it but it's kind of like a um a glaze oh what do they call it but it's it almost looks like an acrylic bubble that you can put on things that would be fun to coat these with [Applause] that how fun are those that disco is pretty cool because one way it looks silver and then the other way it looks like a peor so that is really cool color it does look cool try to see how I need to ship so you guys can see [Applause] it and then perfect it comes with the gold [Music] findings so we're good there you can find earring findings I I found a ton on Amazon you can find them in black and rose gold and gold and silver and pure pure yeah pter um all different finishes so if this is something you think you're going to be interested in doing this is this is a fun little craft to get [Applause] into Fun Fun Fun [Applause] all right I think that's good who let's put these guys together um when I do find the replacement finding for this guy I think I'm going to do Stripes so we'll do a little either I'll do like a quick reel on that or something but I'll show you how how fun is that love it and I'm probably not going to paint the back back because they really they're not going to spin they're going to stay put all right let's get the Rings back in there put that in there put that guy in there and we're just going to kind of squeeze those together get them close and then pop them together there's that and we got to put this piece in there in that hole remember the earring part the stem you want to go backwards with that squeeze it together so that's much easier when you just um separate them by turning sideways instead of trying to open the hole I want to make sure that's nice and tight though we don't want to lose our earrings moving on me there we go this guy's got a little C good there fun how fun I am not one to wear like big long earrings but you know I just might start these are too [Music] cute too too cute now we're just going to pinch them this way and then make sure they're kind of together there we go fun fun fun what do you guys think if you're local to me and you want to get some girlfriends together and make some earrings or if you just want to make some earrings please let me know because I think this would be a fun Workshop definitely a fun Workshop especially now that the kids are in [Music] school you know you're thinking I'm bored what can I do during the day let's let's do something okay how fun is that again I'm going to wipe this what I'll probably do is use my uh we'll use our tape and we're going to stripe that off maybe we'll do like black and white I think we'll do black and white that'll be fun so we'll do the black and
