Why It's Time to Move On From The Acolyte | Season 2 Update and Hopes From Manny Jacinto hello my dear friends and welcome back to another Star Wars news update later in the video we do have some important new information for the Star Wars movie side of things but first I think it's time we close the book on the acolytes and the reason I say this is Forbes released an article titled A glimmer of hope for the acolyte season 2 in it they refer to Manny hino's recent comments about how he will not stop fighting for a second season to be made and like we covered in a previous video one of the things he wants to achieve one of the main things he wants to achieve before retiring as an actor is starring once again as Kima or The Stranger in a season 2 and it was put out to the fandom do we believe there is a glimmer of hope I honestly think it's time to let this go at least for the meantime if many years down the line Disney is no longer the proprietor of Star Wars and a different conglomerate owns them and you know let's say by then there is a lot of demand much more demand than now then who knows those characters may be Revisited but for the meantime it seems like I would say good proportion of the fandom just said nope we know viewership reflects this and we also know that is all that matters Disney see this Lucas from see this they see the enormous budget for the show and the fact it wasn't unprofitable and I guess it's just time to move on from it Forbes can say there is a glimmer of hope with an actor coming out and saying they want a season 2 but that doesn't change the reality of what Disney and Lucas film prioritize you know I'm not a fan of the acolytes but if they did want to do something with kir in the future I think we need a new showrunner I'm sorry I just really don't Vibe with Leslie headland's vision and I really wanted to like it I really wanted to give it the chance it deserved and I did but I think Star Wars fans and the brand the fr tries deserves better some characters had a lot of potential and I know Star Wars fans really do want to see more of Darth plagas explored but the best bet for fans who do want to see those characters again is if they make appearances in something else if Lucas decides they want to make another high Republic show and some have compared this Prospect to the Marvels getting a sequel in other words it would be a disastrous mistake Disney would continue losing money and in a similar way to what I just suggested some of those characters are appearing in other projects their stories are continuing maybe in the case of chir it's going to be in a book or an animated show and as for Darth pagus I'm wondering if Disney even knows what to do with the character the Legends book is so brilliant unless you bring James luceno in the extent of what we saw in season 1 was just him lurking in the shadows staring creepily but moving on today we have an interesting bit of news for the Jon Favreau Teases The Mandalorian and Grogu Will Reward Fans Who Watched the First Seasons mandelorian and grou John favro says the mandelorian and grou movie will reward fans of the show and Star Wars in general here's the quote part of what we're setting out to do is to have something that rewards people who've been with the show since the beginning and been with Star Wars since the beginning and specifically on the manalan front he can't wait to put Gro on the big screen so when he says he's going to reward fans who've been with the show since the beginning that could have some major implications and also give us a clue as to what we're going to see in the 2026 film now don't get me wrong the Mandalorian and GR continues the story of season 3 the trailer shown at d23 confirms a deli Squadron seelos but if we read into John's words further the fact he uses the word reward in the context of rewarding fans who've been watching the show since the first season is he implying some of the tone and even possibly some of the characters from the first two seasons are returning we know Mando and Gro on their own again but there are also plenty of characters who deserve a return and I want to highlight one or two of those a few months ago go just after the melor and grou movie was announced I put out a video explaining how some cameos and character appearances could Elevate the big screen presence of the Mandalorian universe and I had a lot of people replying all you want is the familiar blah blah blah but I'm not talking about Luke I'm not talking about Leia in this instance I'm talking about characters and Dynamics they have with Den that were set up early on in the show and it's about time they come back the first one I'm thinking about is omera she was a villager on the planet sgon which din Jaren and kadon helped protect and it was kind of suggested DIN and Oma had a rapport for one another Sparks were flying and they developed feelings for each other Oma begged DIN and grou to stay even going as far as trying to removed in jiren's helmet D and grou left and it's possible one day they're going to return to San but Oma's story was never completed a couple of weeks ago Bryce Dallas Howard who is directing in the upcoming Skeleton Crew and directed sanctu the episode of Mando Oma featured in spoke of the importance of that character Howard admits she always intended Den omera to have a romance but originally she didn't have a name I'd also love to see the likes of mix mayfeld Boba Fett cob fan but arguably the biggest connection to the first two seasons that mandalorin and Gru is making is giving DIN and his son a new razor Crest just like old times and so finally my dear friends here's a Disney Star Wars vs George Lucas | Why Re-Releases Are Successful and How it Proves Fans Love the Original Trilogies question question that's been asked to the fandom what would Star Wars really be like without the mouse without Disney and from this a hot take that went viral is Disney has done a better job with Star Wars in 10 years than George Lucas did in 35 years while that is a Star Wars fan with an opinion it's one I very much disagree with and I'm not saying Disney hasn't done some great things I'm personally a big fan of the manorian Rogue one and Dora sooka however you cannot compare those to the original six movie Skywalk Walker Saga I grew up on the prequel trilogy I know some fans will say the original Three I say the original six The Saga is timeless and it's the basis for everything Disney has done so wherever they succeed wherever they tie it into George Lucas's content you have to still have George lucas' stories as the basis he's the maker he's the one who created this Incredible Universe we love and the Skywalker Saga brings me and millions of fans so much joy without failure the most magical story ever told in my opinion like I say everyone's got one and I just want to give you a little anecdote before we talk about Star Wars movies I've been going to some of these re-releases here in the UK they've been doing Star Wars Sundays where every week There's a different Star Wars film and they're doing the whole Skywalker Saga plus the sequels and Rogue one but not solo and I just want to preface this by saying my local Cinema is pretty quiet doesn't have too many Cinema goers even on its best days even when there's big releases and it's the weekend the only exceptions I've seen in recent years were oppenheim barie minions but other than those it's pretty quiet in recent weeks especially when they showed a new hope the theater was packed cues of Star Wars fans with their kids and their families with t-shirts one kid had a chewy plush some guy was wearing Yoda ears and the atmosphere was incredible very similar to another thing they did recently which was to reshow the original Alien movies fans especially passionate Star Wars fans do for the bill and show up without failure every time to see the movies they love and in this instance it's an Ode to the Brilliance of the creative mind of George Lucas and his ability to tell a story of Hope a story which speaks to multiple Generations has some of the best world building and storytelling in all of Cinema history a story which transports us to a galaxy far far away something Alec Guinness used to say was it felt so clean he saw the premiere of Star Wars in 1977 in central London and he remarked at the time going back to the Streets of London after seeing Star Wars for the first time you notice how dirty it was compared to Star Wars how clean everything was how it took you to a Galaxy of aliens and a magical adventure of a young Farmer Boy Jedi Rebels against an evil empire wild and wonderful planets and like I say anything Disney has done right it's building upon George Lucas's genius but that is my view on it I've been loving seeing the movies and Cinemas again what do you guys think of everything we spoke about let me know your thoughts in the comments down below if you enjoyed this video please be sure to give me a big fat thumbs up subscribe if you're new check me out on socials and May the
