yeah if you remember in the Cleveland uh 2020 debate between Joe Biden Donald Trump there were constant interruptions of each other mostly by Donald Trump and the moderator got very frustrated and the public really was considered one of the worst debates of all time because of those interruptions and so after that everyone back went back to the drawing board and said if he could cut the microphones if it's not your allotted speaking time then that will make for a better free flowing debate make it easier for the moderator to control the debate and they tried that in the next the second presidential debate in Nashville in 2020 and it went a lot more smoother and had a great reception and so when uh Trump and President Biden debated in June they did they cut those microphones and so even though if there were interruptions the viewing audience wouldn't hear it and those are the rules that Trump would like to continue uh for this debate with Harris because it ended up helping him in June in Atlanta where Harris would like Trump to be on a hot mic and maybe you know say something offensive or angry um but it sounds like as of today uh no no hot Mike and that they will be muted which I think for the debate performance in the audience will be a better product for the most part people that tune into these debates are cheering on uh their preferred candidate and aren't really objective or likely to change their minds but these last elections 2016 20120 have been so close um if the candidates can reach a few undecided moderate swing voters that could make the difference in seven Battleground States and thousands or 10 thousands of votes in a real close election so those are the ones are going to Target and a debate like this is likely to be watched by 70 80 million people perhaps the June uh one only had about 50 but given this is the first time the two candidates have ever debated each other the all the excitement surrounding that going to get a very large audience
