the Baltimore Orioles have once again promoted the game's top prospect Jackson holiday back up to the major leagues to join the big league team following some improvements from the future Superstar at the triaa level now that holiday is back in the majors the goal is going to be to stick around this time he and the Orioles want him to be on the big league roster the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs in his first stint in the big leagues back in April Jackson went just two for 34 but what about this time how has Jackson holiday been doing at the plate since his promotion back to the majors as of the making of this video Jackson holiday is 17 for 71 with five home runs one triple two doubles nine singles four walks and 21 strikeouts in his at bats back in the majors let's dive into the numbers but before we do if you could please do me a quick favor and make sure you're subscribed to my channel so you don't miss out on any updates on Jackson holiday while he's back in the majors as a big holiday fan myself I want to make this channel a place where you can come to get those updates I'll be keeping you all in the loop with how things are going for holiday in the weeks ahead back to business in order of his 20 games back in the majors here are Jackson holiday stats I had been taking these game by game but since he's played in so many games now I'm taking them in chunks of five games one through five he got off to a blazing start going seven for 16 which is a 438 batting average with two home runs including a Grand Slam in his first game back a double four singles two walks and five strikeouts in that first game back to go along with the Grand Slam he also almost hit another three-run homer which came down to a video review to determine that it landed just foul outside the left field foul pole at Camden Yards otherwise Jackson would have been looking at a two Homer seven RBI game in his first game back regardless quite a way to make an entrance for yourself and it was a perfect start for Holiday especially coming off the struggles that we saw his first time in the big league where he did post that two for 34 all this could do is help his confidence immensely as he hope to turn things around this time game six through 10 while Jackson kind of cooled back off from a hit standpoint going just three for 18 which is a 167 batting average the slug was certainly still there as all three of those hits were home runs he added one walk and five strikeouts to to go along with those homers games 11 through 16 6 for 20 a 300 batting average including Jackson's first career triple as well as a double four singles and six strikeouts notice Jackson isn't walking a whole lot here especially not compared to his AAA numbers where he walked just about as much as he struck out so certainly something to keep an eye on there also in that stretch Jackson had his first four hit game in the majors as a matter of fact it was his first three hit game as well he just went ahead and one up it to four so solid stuff there and then finally game 16 through 20 just one for 15 067 at the plate with a single a walk and five strikeouts so Jackson certainly hitting a rough patch there again overall 17 for 71 which is good for a 239 batting average it almost feels like he's done better than that I guess with a lot of the home runs that he's hitting and especially compared to where he started uh coming off that two for 34 anything just seem better than uh than he was doing but to be fair the Ops is looking good with all those home runs just the batting average is looking a little bit low as he's kind of tailed off here the last week week and a half or so down to a total of 23 9 now since his return obviously we're still looking at a relatively small sample size but from an average statistic standpoint like I said we're still looking a lot better than we were his first INT in the big leagues back in April where he hit just 060 now taking a look at his strikeout numbers which has been something I've kept an eye on with how often he was going down on strikes the last time he was in the majors his 21 strikeouts since his demotion does equate to a 29% strikeout rate while this is a nice Improvement on the 53% figure he had in the major leagues before that number is still a little elevated for me if he can get that down under about the 25% range that's more where we want to see it for Jackson Jackson holiday has a great eye at the plate but looking at his walk to strikeout numbers since he's returned to the big leagues just four walks and 21 strikeouts when he was walking about as much as he struck out down in the miners this year so we're hoping that that strikeout number can kind of come back down to earth maybe he can start to generate some deeper counts and draw some walks now the fact that Jackson holiday's back in the majors already after such historic struggles and an injury that set him back as well the comeback has been a great thing to see hopefully as the weeks go on we'll continue to see some more Improvement movements from the future Superstar and he can provide some good value for the Orioles both at the plate and in the field as we March towards the playoffs time will tell but I do expect that holiday will continue to get more comfortable and improve at the major league level and that he can really blossom into the player that many expect him to be if Jackson holiday can hold his own the job is his it's as simple as that given some of the recent moves that we've seen the Orioles make they really did clear a space for Holiday to come up and shine now it's up to him to continue to put in the work and hopefully the results will follow I'll be keeping you guys updated with how Jackson
