[Music] [Music] what's going on everyone coming up on today's show we've got some roster moves to recap going into mandatory mini camp and then Deshawn Watson had the entire city of Cleveland holding its breath in a charity softball game and we'll tell you why but I do want to remind everyone that we're going live not just once a week during the summer but twice a week Tuesdays and Fridays into the roster moves that the Browns made they made two additions and then of course that was followed by two subtractions so most recently they added offense guard Wyatt Davis and before that safety Brady Breeze and to make room for the two additions they waved defensive tackle Jaden Peavey and one of the three kickers that they have behind Dustin Hopkins and Kade York Lucas harves but Wyatt Davis I would say is the most notable name of the four players that were a part of the roster moves third round pick out of Ohio State by the Minnesota Vikings back in 2021 so the pipeline from Columbus to Cleveland continues on even if there's detours to the Vikings Giants Saints and Cardinals unfortunately he missed all of last season on injured reserve but he does have nine appearances split between those four teams and he's also the grandson of NFL Hall of Famer Willie Davis who was well before my time a Cleveland Brown for a short period traded to the Green Bay Packers and probably a move that the Browns would like to undo like a lot of uh transactional moves the Browns have made in their history but the offensive line depth chart Wyatt Davis joins a very competitive offensive line to say the least I mean the Browns have a top five offensive line but even at their depth they've got some really good competition like Michael Dunn Zack ziner they brought in Brian Allen he was a Rams Super Bowl winning Center for that team recent draft picks like Luke whiper of course there's Dewan Jones Jack Conlin I can go on and on but my suspicion is they added Wyatt Davis because mandatory mini camps coming up they're not going to push Joel ponio or Wyatt teller much at all in mini camp so they need a new backup center when Michael dun and Zack ziner maybe take over as the starting guards during mini camp and Davis can kind of rotate in with the second and third team offense uh the defensive line it's still as competitive as always I mean unfortunately Peavey not currently on it wouldn't be surprised if you see the Browns bring him back teams like to do this right they kind of have a taxi Squad going at the end of their roster the other addition they made was Brady Breeze this was a few days ago 2021 six round draft pick out of Oregon by the Tennessee Titans he's got 11 career appearances split between the Titans and the Lions he was with the Browns during their rookie mini camp just a few months ago as an invite and eventually lands a roster spot also joins a very competitive room with the safeties he'll have an uphill battle to find I would say even a practice Squad spot I mean Juan Thornhill Grant delpit Rodney McLoud I think Ronnie Hickman and then Andor DeAnthony Bell like those five guys are probably locks to make the 53 man roster maybe they go with four safeties and if they do whoever loses that roster spot between Hickman and Bell is absolutely making the Browns practice squad and likely going on to someone else's 53 man roster if they hit the waer wire so Breeze will have an uphill battle and then finally the Special Teams core I mean like I mentioned earlier they had three kickers Dustin Hopkins has been pretty uh Mia if I remember correctly throughout the off season workouts and programs so the Browns have been having Kade York and Lucas harasek do the kicking duties and I guess they're ready to go Full Tilt with Kade York if Dustin Hopkins isn't there for well he'll be the for mandatory mini camp so I guess at this point they don't really need to have two kickers for the voluntary workouts since everything from here on out is going to be mandatory now before we get on to the the rest of today's video and talk about DeShaun Watson kind of an off-the-wall question name a Browns player that you defended meaning in your friend group and your family everyone was out on this guy and everyone's got that one player that they St up for and they stood up for and they went to war for let me let me know in the comment section who that player was for you for me I was a pretty decent defender of Kade York when the pick was made CU I just think the kicker position is more valuable than we give it credit for but but I did want Dicker the kicker during the draft solely because his name is Dicker the kicker and that's turned out to be a pretty good reasoning in my eyes all right next up on the show we're game and before we get much further let me just kind of add that I love how much David and jok who has embraced the city of Cleveland guys from New Jersey went to college in Miami drafted by Cleveland there were some up and down moments early on his career especially when Kevin stefansky was hired as the head coach not a perfect union initially but he's out here defending Cleveland not tolerating any kind of BS for Micah Parsons in the off season and he's throwing charity softball games which is awesome to see for a lot of reasons so DeShaun Watson was in attendance along with a lot of other Browns players including tight end zier Mitchell Peyton who was at second base which is what I played in fifth grade so you know how good of a baseball player I was but unfortunately it looks like as we kind of cycle through the photos Watson didn't call mine for infield pop fly and Z mipan started floating over to first base and we get this collision and the entire city of Cleveland and everyone in attendance just stopped silence holding their breath as Watson hit the deck hat goes flying full collision and everyone's already thinking of the worst and then luckily Deshawn Watson just Rises up puts his hands up and says I'm okay he would go on to play the rest of the game I believe for sure the second inning and so I would think if there was even a slight fear of like ooh that felt a little weird he would have just removed himself from the game but he went out there he didn't bat though if I read correctly if I remember correctly so I don't think that's anything to be you know cause for concern but just a little bit more color to the picture of course if you're zier Mitchell Peyton you are terrified because you are a fringe roster player fighting for a 90 53 man roster spot and for a quarter of a second maybe a bit longer you thought you ruined the Browns 2024 season and you were going to be Public Enemy Number One so Z Mitchell Peyton spoke to the media afterwards here's what he said said to cleveland.com where all these photos by the way came from when I found out he flipped I was like man I hope I didn't hurt him I didn't hear him saying him saying it's me it's me it's me so once I saw him in my periphery I stopped and moved out of the way but I'm glad he's okay the whole time he was down I was like are you good are you good you ain't hurting there's nothing lingering I was just making sure he was okay because that was a mistake so big sigh of relief for zier Peyton as DeShaun Watson definitely appears to be a hopefully there's nothing that comes out of this down the road that we discover in a few days or a week or so if something were and I don't even want to say that cuz I hate the idea of putting it out into the universe this is the most like unfortunate thing to ever happen like this is the most Browns thing ever where they actually have a baseball injury to their football team because there is no secret that baseball players always find ways to have the most bizarre injuries there is so many lists of of baseball players with unique you know freaky injuries that have happened to them um and for a Browns player to have it during a softball game would be the absolute biggest kick in the nuts but some background on Watson as he gets ready for mandatory mini camp which is underway Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday of this week Watson during voluntary OTAs through every other day the media was able to see him throw just once stefansky said his participation level at mini camp is to be determined by the the medical staff so we'll get an idea when mini camp gets underway if Watson's throwing or not now of course he underwent shoulder surgery back in November to repair a fractured right glenoid so I would love to see DeShaun Watson throw this week because it's mandatory mini camp which means Amari Cooper's there Jerry Judy's there the whole crew is there and not only is it nice to see the entire offense together but take it one step further you got Ken dorsy there right and that's the new offensive coordinator and potentially the new play caller so the earlier these guys start to mesh and get into a rhythm and figure out their likes and dislikes from a play calling perspective the better because DeShaun Watson has historically not gotten off to Great starts in his NFL career for the first few weeks of the season and now you add in him coming off a shoulder injury and him having to learn a new type of offense is with a new play caller potentially but for sure a new offensive coordinator and the sooner the better for everyone to get on the same page and not find themselves in September still trying to pick up the new lingo jargon playbook play calling and all that stuff because I don't want to see a kend dorsy viral video in week two of him slamming down his headset like he did with the bills now before we wrap it up and get on out of here speaking of quarterbacks what Brown's quarterback were you wrong about who did you believe was going to be the final end of the dog pounds prayers to the quarterback position I was wrong about Johnny Manzel I thought he would be Johnny Football um I also liked Connor Shaw don't know why but just felt like oh I think he's going to be a good Hidden Gem no didn't really work out that way all right before we get on out of here we do have one of the newer
