these people are fleeing flooding in the town of TOA near the Red Sea in northeastern Sudan they do so with difficulty the town has been severely impacted after floods caused by heavy rains weeks ago residents report people are stranded due to the blockage of main [Music] roads we are no longer in danger but our relatives and France are stuck and surrounded by flood water there is a lack of medical and humanitarian relief shelter and food rescue operations have been mostly individual we were surprised to see only small Machines working on the road the collapse of the arar dam near Port Sudan around 40 km further north a week ago has also wed havoc in the region un deputy secretary General Amina Muhammad was in Port Sudan on Thursday to highlight the country's humanitarian needs generally it has one of the world's biggest displacement crises linked to the ongoing Civil War we have impending crisis around famine we are not getting medical supplies in where um there are Health crisis uh but more importantly we have to remember the suffering of the people and here um to to to do this with the government um of Sudan fighting erupted in the country in April last year Aid groups say it has prevented humanitarian supplies reaching the 25 million Susan people facing severe hunger
