Aaron Glenn Claims He Finally Play His Brand of Defense in Detroit | Here's Why!!!

[Music] iuc all right man Aaron Glenn uh says that uh now he actually can play the defense that he wants to play um uh that he wants to play now that he got the DBS um um so um so he's basically saying that uh um they can go man to man now you know uh he can be aggressive um you know and they can go do some things that they need to do and and has been a thing a a problem um you know so let me press you lock you down that's what he loves to do so we can be the best of friends honestly um so he says uh Glenn Express reports that he likes to deploy an aggressive man-to-man cover style within the group in fact matches the intensity and physicality he enjoyed the play said man it's smothering when it comes to defense that's who I am as a coach I like smothering off offense he said Glenn said I like the blitz I like to get up on the the offense but listen I'm not sitting here saying we're going to Blitz every time it's just a part of what we do I like the part of our person a part of our personality and also it's part of the guys that we have he said just more aggressive uh it's a challenge mentality in the league man you just don't want to sit back and allow quarterback to Dink and dunk there are times where you can uh can do that and there are other times where you have to get up there and cause havoc and put pressure on offenses uh for Williams okay so that's something different so you know for the most part he want to play manto man you know and and and you know you know they chose to sh up the run defense which I think was the right thing to do last year he wants to be manto man you know what I'm saying he wants to be able to you know um employ more of an aggressive style of defense and like last year was more they Blitz here and there um and they had success doing it but they they back end couldn't hold up so you know he he's been making the most and he's been under some scrutiny you know he's been under some scrutiny but he been making the most of uh he's been making the most of his his defense you know he's been getting creative and making adjustments but now you know rackstraw you know the Davis uh terion I mean you know you know branch is you know back he might play a little bit more safety but you know now you know he he he's you know he allowed to do some things um you know and I think we really going to see you know uh him at full power this year if they if they can remain healthy you know what I'm saying that that that that that that's what's going that's what it's really going to be about this is going to be the year that uh this is gonna be the year that uh in my opinion that he if he ever gonna be a head coach and get that proper look um uh you know uh it's going to be after this year he got you know horses um he also said the pass rush you know had had to get had to get uh it had to get better um but the secondary you know that's this going to be a really really fun thing to see with the secondary and see um you know what they can continue to produce on the back end so um but you know now you got some some guys in the back end he got some dep some guys that that love to play manto man you like I said last year they chose to go ahead and fix that that that that that run defense which I think is a little bit more important now in the back end I mean it kind of work out for him now at least on paper so uh so you'll see probably see a different defense probably see more blitzing more maning man um um you know you see more in your face you know and you might see a little bit of Zone you know you might see a little bit of Zone you know but last year was Heavy Zone towards the end they had to play soft um it was just due to their personnel it was due to their personnel so you know they had to they had to play a little bit soft so but uh yeah I I think you gonna see a whole different whole different type of uh I think you gonna see a whole different type of uh Aaron Glenn defense you know uh now as far as pass rush they they G to step it up or do a little bit something different I can't call it um so I can't call if they gonna do something different but but um or have something else but um they betting on Marcus Davenport and not sure that's the smartest thing to do but hey we'll see what happens let's see what happens but uh um but you know the back end should help them you know uh help them out a lot more so uh so we'll see man we see we'll see but no excuses for Aon Glenn this year especially if they remain healthy going into the season you know what I'm saying um especially they
