[Music] sucks uh let's see great ball game tonight a lot of great things to uh to talk about obviously Brian woo um taking the the Perfecto into the seventh um outstanding effort tonight he was really really on the fast ball thought he had great secondary stuff again today too um nice play by Randy and left early in the game on the dive uh always good defense behind him um and then the offense able to get three um in the one inning big couple of big hits with uh guys in scoring position and then adding on later in the ball game like we've talked about so much is you know just keeping the pressure on uh opening the Gap to 5 nothing kind of gives our Bullpen a little bit more room and and our guys came in threw the ball really really well and um you know just a a good hard fought from you know pitch one to pitch whatever it was with Mooney um just a great ball game all the way through and he's been able to pitch into the seventh inning a bunch over the past month plus but tonight when could you tell that he was in the Rhythm that he was able to get get into and just establish the dominance that yeah that's a good offensive team um you know I think what they do offensively is is difficult and I think after about the first and second inning um you could tell something special was happening um he really had good stuff uh you know just the swings they were getting early on you could tell that his his ball had a little extra life um and then his secondary stuff I thought was excellent as well so um I think you could tell second third inning that uh you know he was going to have a good night and and uh he took that all the way into the seventh I mean a lot of first pitch strikes obviously but I think he before the walk to chonor he only had one three ball count I mean just the efficiency of just filling up the Zone how much did that help yeah his pitch count was really low um and that was a big key for him to get to get deep and uh you know kind of It kind of ratcheted up a little bit there in the seventh um but uh he just continued to attack and um you know that's what we talk about here so much is is attacking the strike zone and and he was able to do it tonight with some really good stuff what have you learned about Brian since you've kind of been been around him a little bit more yeah he's he's um you know he he's very business-like and goes goes about his business and and uh you know he's kind of a quiet guy but there's a lot of intensity in there and and I think we saw all that tonight and um you know it's uh um it was an excellent I mean he had everything going he knew how to use it I thought he worked very well with Cal as well and and the two of them were were in sync and um you know kind of Brian kind of took it from there Dan did you see that intensity when you had to go take the the ball from him a little bit it was a tough one um you know it was a tough one I just thought you know it was a long inning um by far his longest inning of the of the night and Cronin worth gave him quite a bat um and uh but but you know uh to get that win tonight to get us deep in the game um that was just an outstanding uh outing for Brian and the efficiency has been such a big part of everything that he has done is that just a trust in in throwing strikes or is that ability to get them to go after earlys what do you see from the ability to do that yeah I think um you know he just he trusts his stuff and and uh you know I think he trusts that he can throw that in the strike zone he can throw quality strikes and either get weak contact or swing and miss and um we saw all that tonight um you know some we contact and and uh some swinging Miss and uh when he has the stuff that he has and and and the fast ball has the life that the four and the two um and he mixed in his off speed stuff really well and and uh you know when you're able to do that I think you have a lot of confidence that that you're going to come out on top and I the pitch he gave up the home run it wasn't a bad pitch it was in her was on the edge I mean how many people in baseball can hit it that hard and keep it fair like that yeah I mean that's like I said that's a really that's a really good offensive ball club and uh they've got some guys in there that can do damage on good pitches and and that was one of those cases um so uh you know that that makes Brian's outing actually all that more impressive what he was able to do tonight to them you uh I mean how much trust are you gaining with Troy that's a pretty big spot to go to a rookie who's made about 15 appearances yeah I mean I I think uh you know he's he's definitely shown an ability to to work through those situations and and uh um you know he's had a number of those now here lately and and um you know he's handled them very very well I thought you know even after giving up the Bas said he was he was able to really lock in on on the next on Merill and and make some good pitches a pretty good at bat from Merill but able to get him in the end and um you know that was a that was a big turning point in the game for us and Luke reallyy had a key knock tonight he's been one of your better hitters for a little bit here what have you seen from him and just how hard he works yeah I mean Luke is uh he's a very gifted player he's got you know the ability to hit and hit for power he can run um he can defend you know he's he's got it all and and uh he's he's a Workhorse there's no doubt about it and uh um you know we're seeing some of that pay off for him right now and and uh two you know really big RB for us to kind of open the Gap there and make it three nothing and and make it early and and gave us a little chance to settle into the ball game great great job by by Luke tonight for sure he and Cal hit essentially the same pitch to the same location and that didn't give you those three runs is that just from them studying or what does that tell you about where they are with their process I mean you know again these guys are are putting together some pretty good approaches at the plate and um you know I think uh we're starting to see some of the fruits of that and and um you know those those are two you know really good examples of it getting a pitch you know uh being able to do something with it especially with the runner and scoring position and and uh picking up some big RBI so that was a a big lift for us early in the ball game all right Brian uh you look like you could through chew through your glove as you walked off the mound there but it seemed like with the standing ovation and your teammates standing at their PL and you kind of you lighten the mood a little bit I mean like how that little walk after all that I mean it seemed like it you know the realization was kind of hit you there yeah I could probably still do it right now but um yeah I mean you're obviously frustrated as a competitor like you know what you're doing is special if you just kind of stay in the moment and um credit to them I mean they put some good swings on some good pitches and um it is what it is it's more just me wanting to finish the job and you know at least finish that inning and um you know um Dan we talked about it already but just kind of long inning really long at bat with Cronin worth and then um just kind of liked the matchup after that so um yeah it is what it is I'm not you know questioning any any of his decisions but just as a competitor you know you want to finish that inning he didn't he kind of looked at you and he could tell you know he even admitted that you were pretty intense out there on that one yeah he's not he hasn't been through this stuff yet you know how long does it take for you to kind of cool off from the frustration of that competitive moment also realizing what you were able to achieve and the team did hang on to the win probably at least 24 hours I'll probably still be fresher the rest of the night um yeah not even that I didn't you know whatever the perfect game it's more just pitches um you know obviously pride myself on competing and and not getting them free bases so the walk um it's frustrating but um yeah I'll have better perspective probably tomorrow Bri the pitch wasn't I mean the pitch was inner was on the corner yeah Ian like how many guys can keep their keep that fair and and do that what he did good pitch um good swing um tip your cap profar good pitch good swing tip your cap um and then yeah that's why I was just croner worth was probably the more frustrating I bet just the walk how Point early on did you feel like you had either more life on the fast ball or it just felt like they were you had them off off balance at the plate um I think it's more of like rhythm with um you know mechanically and um attacking the zone and you're not really thinking too much about um you know spots and whatnot I think early on especially it's weird you have those days it's like I didn't feel great in catch play I didn't feel great in the bullpen just kind of all over the place and then you get out and just clicks like it's just it's just a weird game but um yeah I guess after probably a couple Innings felt like we in a good rhythm with the fast ball getting the off speeds kind of underneath and um you know good spots that I like especially um later in counts and finish counts so I guess probably a couple innings in but yeah you try to kind of just stay focused stay present you know that team makes contact more than any team in baseball I mean how does that impact your approach or does it at all does it steer you from you know filling up the Zone the way that you do no not really I mean um yeah I mean I'm I'm going to go at him regardless um I think if I can get some you know quick quick at bats and quick outs then I'll take them all day and um thankfully I did um kind of didn't really do as good a job um I guess in that last inning of um but yeah I mean you're not really I'm I'm not really trying to change too much you know if they if I get quick outs I get quick outs if I don't I don't but I'm I'm still going to go after them how about the cleats how where did those like they were going pretty mainstream yeah my my agent reached out and he was like would you be open to doing something like that and I'm not really too flashy I think I've worn the same parac cetes every game The Last like two years um a little bit of like Superstition and like comfort and I told him like it has to be this specific cleat and like I I kind of just fits my fit well and whatever and he was like all right well if I do all that stuff like would you wear them and I was like yeah sure why not so um yeah going a little bit out of my comfort zone but sticking with him now yeah so did pitching Ninja connect with your Asian is that yeah I've had a I think I've had a good connection with him and then he kind of reached out to make sure that it was okay with him too and then um but yeah Rob's Rob's great like I just I I really really appreciate like everything that he does for the game and like growing up um especially in college when he kind of got big like I learned so much from his stuff and like watching all of his interviews watching all of his stuff like you get grips from this guy and like it's especially as a pitcher like that's the stuff that you really really appreciate of like truly growing the game and truly trying to help like the next generation of getting better at pitching is it Stadium Customs that did it or who did it do you know who did it uh I got to double check on that I think it was uh Luchia Customs but yeah thank you to everybody I mean like could you imagine you got Ric Flair on your shoe you know that's not something that's you know yeah it's a little that's what I said it was a little out of my comfort zone little little bit uh little bit out there but sticking with him now and you'll see him next start that's for sure thanks nope [Music] oh [Music]
