hi my name is Haley Ward I'm from Shak Minnesota and I'm super excited to be here in Iowa City my first few weeks have been amazing and I can't wait for the recruitment process my major is pre- nursing hoping to get into the nursing program in the next couple of years what I'm looking forward to gaining from a sority is honestly just so many opportunities that come along with it I am super interested in healthcare I love to help people so I want to be more involved in the community at Iowa and just even being a part of different events another big thing for me is The Sisterhood and friends that come along with it I think it's super important to surround yourself with people who care about you and have the same values as you growing up I always had a super good group of people surrounding me I had I was a part of a team my entire life so it's just something you just always had those people looking out for you and I think that's super important and I look forward to finding just even during the rush process I've heard so many good things about finding like friends just all being in the same boat together trying to find your people and yeah and then I have been in extracurriculars my entire life I've been a gymnast for 13 years I think I've grown in so many different ways as a person through extracurriculars I think it's taught me so many different life lessons I was a team captain my senior year of high school and I grew in so many different skills I think one skill that stuck sticks out to me is empathy I think so many people um need to have like leaders in their life and I was happy to be that when I was a senior for other people people coming to you for help a hug a talk I think it's super important to have that and then another thing I did like in high school was the Caps program it stands for a center for advanced professional studies I was in the hospital for about three hours every single day I volunteered in the emergency department which is super cool because it sparked my interest in healthcare even more and just having that experience is super cool and then I also did Feed My Starving Children and we just met so many people in the hospital and I think it just like was a great experience it helped me grow as a person in my communication skills and Leadership skills as well so yeah I think those are super um good things that kind of have just helped me grow as a person in the past um couple of years and I look forward to having more opportunities in the future to grow in my leadership skills communication skills all of that stuff So yeah thank you so much for listening to my video and I look forward to meeting everyone during the rush process thank you
