if you're ever feeling creatively frustrated creatively stressed creatively overwhelmed if you're questioning your ability to come up with brilliant powerful creative ideas I have an analogy that you can use to help you navigate those turbulent creative Waters and the analogy is this New York Times puzzles and the creative process Wordle is very popular but there's another puzzle called connections very simple game there's 16 squares each square has a word in them and you have to group those squares into groups of four based on a connection and so when I first sit down with the puzzle especially when I first started doing the puzzle it feels overwhelming it feels confusing chaotic I don't see where the connections are it's just it's just 16 words just bouncing around I'm like I don't see the logic in it and early on I would get frustrated but over time I realized that if I could just chill and have patience and relax and trust that there is an inherent logic in that puzzle and that logic is wanting to emerge in my brain I could feel it if I trust that process there's always inevitably a time where it just clicks into place I see connections that I previously wasn't seeing before I was just seeing 16 blocks with 16 disperate Concepts but then slowly the connections start forming and it's such a good reminder for me cuz for me it's exactly the same as is the creative process in the early stages of the creative process things feel chaotic overwhelming confusing stressful upsetting annoying disturbing it's very easy for me to get agitated and frustrated and be like why is it not making sense why doesn't it work but if I can relax and trust there's something at play there is an inherent logic in my subconscious creative genius that is working itself out if I can have faith in that and be patient and be Earnest and sort of stay in the pocket of creativity the logic will naturally emerge I don't have to force it I don't have to will it I don't have to muscle it the logic will naturally emerge next time you're feeling creatively frustrated stressed stuck overwhelmed mad angry any of that try to remember this analogy of the New York Times puzzles connections I hope that's helpful
