welcome to yesterday's NBA news here officially in godamn September which is crazy yesterday was obviously the 31st of August 2024 and that was just one WNBA game and no NBA news pretty much let's go quickly over this the Brooklyn Nets are a potential destination for Jimmy Butler question mark apparently that was in the report yesterday from uh a source that Jimmy Butler likes Brooklyn but this more feels like you know he just wants more uh a new contract from the Miami Heat as soon as possible rather than him actually wanting to go to Brooklyn obviously but who knows maybe he'll be right and uh will be uh giving him his props this uh in a year's time because Jimmy Butler's a free agent in 2025 while the miluk Bucks told Brook Lopez that they have no plans to trade him which makes sense I don't think that is a big market for him and I mean Brook Lopez even though he did slow down last year he is still a really good player and maybe he has another a good year in him at least right uh and I mean if you can get better with for the milwauke buck you have no reason to trade him um as for the WNBA we had the connectic Sun Beat theam Washington Mystics 96 to 85 we had two injuries which was annoying Alisa thas got injured on a left ankle Collision uh which was just sucked uh I mean pardon me uh I got it wrong actually it was the right lag I was like yeah I I did I actually mispronounce it it was the right leg while Britney syes 40 Mystics got hurt on her left ankle they both were clear to return but I don't think they I I think they I don't actually think they played even if they when they were cleared uh or I don't remember seeing them out there and you know we'll see nothing nothing has been reported about it um so it should be some minor injuries but we'll have to wait and see uh the Sun play today uh so we'll see if alas will play and Britney SES uh for the mystics we'll see when the mystics play or if we get some news in the meantime but uh both teams made 14 threes really good three-point three-point shooting performance from both teams and the Sun have had some issues defending the three bow lately uh which is not been good for them obviously but they were 22 of 22 from the free throw line which is huge and that was the difference in the game essentially that's what won them the game both teams were uh very even in everything and it was a really even game but the sun were able to put more pressure on the rim and got to the foul line lot more and made all of them which just is a rarity in of itself to see all made free throws in any type of game in a way especially when it's 22 free throws right you can go 10 for 10 in from the free throw line maybe even less right but 22 of 22 is really impressive and Marina mayri continues to shine here she had 21.6 rebounds five assists I'm pretty sure and she's just been awesome since since coming to the Connecticut Sun it feels like her role is more stable she doesn't have to create as much for herself I think they've done a good job of toning her you know uh Tendencies down especially for those out of pocket shots she sometimes just has with her attitude and she's been really good all around and the sun obviously get a good win here as for today's State we have the storm against the sun we'll see like I said if Alysa thas plays the storm are in desperate need for a good game here here um and the sunar on a back to back which I mean should be Advantage storm obviously the sky against the links the Free Falling Sky with you know we still don't know for sure if Shandy de Carter will play she's still questionable for today's game while Minnesota obviously on the roll just had one bad game and then otherwise has been perfect since the break and I mean yeah the sky just in a free fall and I don't expect them to break it here tonight then I think this is my you know favorite game of the night it's the fever against the wings I think that's going to be a really great matchup Caitlyn Clark obviously Kelsey Mitchell and I mean everyone has really been playing incredible for the fever out the break with with the rest garden and the wings obviously with the health is satu sabali have been playing incredible the big three of satu arik and Natasha Howard uh has been incredible like I talked about when the wings have played so I think that's that should be the prime time match up here today while obviously Aces against Mercury should also be really good uh I mean all of these games actually should be really good in a way but uh fever Wings has got my the most attention from me while the aces against the Mercury are on at the same time so I'll have to pull a double screener if I want to watch both but I mean that usually is pretty much counterproductive so we'll see how it all works out and the dream against the Sparks and the night here um the dream have been playing G better which we know RI Jackson is a great watch so uh a lot of player to watch here lot of players lot of good teams to watch here and we'll see we'll see you there I'll try to do the X factors today for the Eastern Conference but I can't promise it because I've
