let's go in the tub good girl very good girl there we go good girl very good that's much better okay so today we are grooming Ally she's an 11-year-old plush coat German Shepherd she definitely has some mobility issues the owner warned me she will lay down a lot and she has not been groomed in 8 months because after she sees the groomer she tends to have some mobility issues I'm sure it's a lot for her to stand so she's a mess you're a mess we are starting today with nasty Critter deep cleaning shampoo because she is very dirty she's also blowing a ton of coat good girl good girl I'm going to get her cleaned up first and then I will use the deshedding shampoo on her second okay one canister of nasty Critter I'm probably not going to be doing much turning with her today in the tub just because she's old and I'm sure turning is going to be difficult for her if I put her in the shower I think that she would just lay down and it would be very difficult to move her around so I figured the tub would be a little bit easier thank you for the both of us just want to scrub this side of you okay try to prevent you from turning as much as possible because I think that' be better for you you're going to lose a lot of hair girlfriend you are really shedding some tear list good girl okay a lot of people ask me where they can get my products and you can get my products in two different down we just basically gave the floor a shower think I'm going to need another towel girl for her final rinse I will turn her cuz I need to make sure that everything's out of her coat I'm trying to make this bath go as fast as possible so that I don't tire her out fortunately even though she was very dirty her bath went a lot quicker than I anticipated so that's good I [Music] you old girl good you with this blow dryer it's going to be crazy yeah it's going to be nuts okay girlfriend are you ready to blow up the shop I'm going to keep that belly band on her for a little bit just so I can dry her back end and then I will let her sit if you don't like it I shall take it off but let's see [Music] did not like that [Music] [Music] sh [Music] [Music] [Music] St is [Music] okay her back end is mostly dry not completely dry but I'm going to let her sit or do as she pleases and then I will finish off her back end at the end normally I start with the brushing right away but she is sitting so I'm going to go ahead and start the nails give her a moment to sit down well laying down is a bit of a challenge for me [Music] pepper wow these na are long so are your Quicks let me see no no stay stay good girl the front ones are very long the back ones not so much the girl stay doing things a little bit backwards today I'm doing things based off of what she's doing so because she's laying down it's easier for me to just do her nails and tidy up her paws right now rather than forcing her to stand to do what I normally do right away after drying which is brushing her just because she's tired and since the owners told me she usually comes home from GR in feeling very sore because of her arthritis and everything I'd rather that she takes breaks as she needs them they wanted her back end trimmed and her front legs trimmed and I do have the intention of getting that done but of course in order to be able to get that done especially properly the dog needs to be standing so we will see how much of that we actually get done or what it looks like if I'm trying to prevent her from having to stand we will see of course I have to brush that out first before I can trim it which means that she has to stand a little bit longer right so I will let you sit while I do other things first it's okay it's just some conditioning spray start with the brushing she has very fine soft and quite thin fur actually even though she doesn't appear to be very thin which is great for her because it meant that drying was a lot faster when they have thick coarse hair it takes longer to dry it's okay don't stand up just lay down good girl can I see your tail I know I'm going to go as fast as I can stay there I would like to do a better trimming job but I don't know that that's going to be possible because she's definitely having quite a bit of difficulty standing now I am putting her into the Groomer's Helper because she keeps backing up and if she backs up then I can't do her back end at all the owner mentioned that sometimes some groomers don't trim her back end and I'm going to assume the reason for that is probably because she doesn't want to stand and she backs up a lot making it more difficult to do her back in so they probably just leave it because it's obviously a lot more work to try and get it done but I will do my best hopefully with the Groomer's helper she won't be able to back up as much I do need to do some shaving back here because she has some mates but as you can see she really does not want it done this is obviously not the most ideal way to tr trim can't really see what I'm doing so I have my leg underneath her which is providing her with stability so she can stand and she's still trying to sit so that tells me that it's not a stability thing although I'm sure she does have some stability issues um it tells me that it's a I don't want this done so I'm going to sit and protest and now she's trying to figure out how to get my leg out from underneath her girlfriend I really don't want to send you home with this uneven looking bum I really would like to trim this but I need to be able to take the belly band off because she has hair under here that would need to be trimmed with it and keep it even um but she has to stand for it which she's not doing so I'm not sure if I want to go ahead and try trimming that and then make it really uneven and be able and not be able to fix it after about an hour and 50 minutes Ali is all finished now while she is an older dog and has difficulty standing she also doesn't love grooming and likes to fight you for the process right olly when she thinks I'm getting her leash she jumps right up ready to go and as soon as she sees me coming at her with the scissors she goes oops no sorry I can't stand and officially lays down I can't let her outside today because it's raining but I will let her on the floor to get a nice after photo and clearly she wants to go thank you guys so much for watching I'll
