and last but not least a surprise player to make the good this is a great learning moment for her as a player if Caitlin Clark is the son with her gravity then Lexi Hol next up for the bad is a play that I swear I'm going to keep harping on until the fever hire me needs lost she needs Dora the Explorer to save her as AB just welcome fever fans The Good The Bad and The Delirious I'm your host past this is a juicy episode as we di to have the fever we out coached where they can make improvements for the playoffs and you Lexi Hall fans won't want to miss the reason why she is a critical piece of our offense let's dive into it hey you I'm a brand new channel so if you enjoy my content please leave a like And subscribe I'm trying to hit 1 th000 subscribers by the end of September it's been a blast engaging with all of you in the comments your support is greatly appreciated now back to it the links are built to beat the fever they have great interior defense unlimited legitimate outside threats and lover or hater one of the best coaches in the W it all starts with queen fee she's a monster on both end of the court and one of the most stoic leaders in the sport where the fever were flustered Fe is making sure everyone is meeting the high bar set for them she finished the night with 26 points 10 rebounds two assists four stocks while shooting 47% from the floor she was not aemp from the free throw as the fever were forced to foul several times and attempt to stop easy buckets Courtney Williams and Atlanta Smith cooked us with not only solid defense and offensive threats but an elite passing game Courtney Williams had an incredible threat with her jump shot but this game she used that threat to hit links players for easy buckets Alana Smith is a similar culprit but she burns the fever in another important weak point which is inside out passing she is a master of getting fed the ball and sending it across the court to whomever on the links is open to raining threes and man are they good at that these two worked in Tandem and punished us all night with pick and roll and these kinds of plays hero Reeves lover or hater punish the fever in one of Christy side's we points which is on the Fly adjustments and admittedly Christy sides talked about the team not being quite capable to make those adjustments yet Reeves came out in the third quarter emphasizing pressure on CC and locking the fever out of the pain meanwhile the fever offense even into the fourth quarter kept trying to feed into a collapsing defense or settle for long twos the fever three-point shooters were feasting Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark were shooting 50% from three and Hall was 100% from three but got into foul trouble and wasn't trying to shoot until later in the fourth the also comes down to prep you can clearly see that Defenders on Caitlyn are focused on passing lanes and paying attention to the best third option for three on the fever Lexi Hall overall a great game plan by the links but the fever can learn a lot from this game so before we get down ourselves let's get into the good the Indiana Fever LED this game for the first half putting up an impressive 50 points against the Stout links defense unfortunately despite Stellar play from the big three in Lexi Hall the fever crumbled in the third quarter and were never able to f fully recover however this game was a great learning experience for the young fever team as they prepare for playoffs I have an unlikely MVP for this game as well as a player who has never been featured on the gbd yet let's get into it off my MVP for the night was Lexi Hall Lexi Hull ended the night with eight points nine rebounds three assists and three STS and shot 100% for three-point land I was impressed with Lexi Hall not just because of her hustle and guarding the best player on the floor nefisa caller when she was called to action but also because I've noticed more and more how much she is unlocking our offense because of her success at the three-point line if Caitlin Clark is the son with her gravity then Lexi Hall is the moon there are multiple moments tonight that because of Lexi Hall's threat she opened up players to score here holding Defender from help defense on Kelsey Mitchell's drive and here cutting to the basket pulling the defender and leaving Kelsey Mitchell wide open for three she's looking more confident on the court every night and every minute she was off the floor the fever were paying the price Caitlin Clark was again phenomenal tonight on the stat sheet she ended with 25 points eight rebounds eight assists and shot 50% from three she's the most unique threat to set foot on the WNBA basketball floor and prove tonight that even if you can slow her down you can't really stop her other players of note Boston came out the gate swinging and was a big part of the fever success in the first half she finished with 20 points five rebounds two assist and one block while shooting 60% from the field she showed off some great moves bringing her opponents to the center of the key before drop stepping into a great spin move for two this showed up multiple times tonight and a great tool to see in her bag Kelsey Mitchell had a respectable 23 points two rebounds two assists shooting 50% from three but struggling with a lot of long twos only shooting 38.1% on the night and last but not least a surprise player to make the good she showed up a little bit last week in a highlight it's going to be Erica wheeler listen I normally don't feature eweezy but she had some pop off moments an amazing finish and a great pump fake into a clean three she's been part of some big momentum plays recently so it's worth a spot on the good today now of course everyone's favorite thing let's break down some film and look at the best plays of the night I talk about Clark being a unique threat in the WNBA and plays like this are exactly why here you can see AB feed the ball to Clark and she's going to pump fake from the logo zandel is going to bite Drive in beautiful Vision feeds to AB and the bucket no other player is going to demand this much respect from the logo xand C's lost she needs Dora the Explorer to save her as AB just easily puts it in and Clark has earned it you look at this play Just earlier Clark pulls up shoots from just outside the in Fever logo she is one of the best in the game the gravity the way that she makes defenses play absolutely differently and get lost even a great defense like the lynx and nothing much more I can say now one of the best plays of the night this is a beautiful set play that the Indiana Fever have have clearly practice here we go Clark going to pass to Nelissa immediately to cam passes to Clark she's going to pitch it to cam and then over to an open three for Clark that she Nails in and let's look at it again I want you to pay attention to Clark's defender on this in this case Clark's Defender is going to get caught in traffic onto Courtney Williams they're going to you're going to see that that causes confusion and then ab's going to set a beautiful screen so by the end of this Clarks Defender never even has a chance they have to fight through so many screens or go over the top and be trailing and we know that if you're trailing Clark anyways it's already over let's look it again in fast motion there's a pass watch The Defender has to dodge Nelissa Smith go underneath her own Defender and ab just no chance I've talked a lot about it in previous episodes but tonight CC's monster didn't help but in fact hindered the fever's ability to make a comeback self admittedly she took some bad shots coaching staff everybody knows about it um but this is the worst case of when Clark it's too wrapped up in the refs and everything that's going on and I've chronicled the downfall for you and this span mainly about from the end of the second quarter through a good chunk of the third and then kind of the the final nail in the coff and play even from CC's own admitted Viewpoint so let's walk through it now we're going to KI it off with a pass into nowhere by Clark you can see the body language already sagging to the floor that's not so bad but then she gets the the offensive foul and she's you know hyping up the crowd getting the boob Birds going within gamebridge and you know the audience was great tonight but here's a Miss pass from Ab you can see Clark already lagging behind the defense shoulders down here she actually flops on a foul doesn't get it and then starts to lose it here playing the refs even further unfortunately and it just again more spirals here she comes in NE caller puts her to the floor and she's not even getting up she's dead she's on the floor players are running around it's not good here there's a foul gets called their favor and Clark is actually chasing the ref and clapping behind him all the way across the floor and here the the expletives are getting dropped from earlier she's losing it she's not focused on the game and finally this is a great effort play from Clark on the steal from Alana Smith but you can see she's already locked in this pass to Tami way before and there's no chance for this pass to go through and unfortunately Clark just down the stretch just you know because of mainly mental issues in the the third and what was going on she just really lost herself in this game it's a real shame but I I know she'll bounce back I know that they're going to have a great talk about this a great learning moment for her as a player one of the key moments that like this can't happen in the playoffs you're the leader you have to get it done you have to be an example next up for the bad is a play that I swear I'm going to keep harping on until the fever hire me or something changes because I'm tired of end of quarter plays being so garbage for the fever and I don't understand how we can't can't figure this out it's been multiple games now back to back and it's like either time pressure or just there's like no ideas and I'm going to run you through this play and and we can talk about it all right so Clark's going to bring the ball up she's going to gamble on the drive it's not going to work out we're going to have ugly pass to Kelsey Mitchell who's then going to kind of dribble it out and do what Kelsey Mitchell does and take a long two which is ill advised there's not really a chance Le hle tries to fight for it nothing doing and really like what I want to talk about is in this is just like there should just be like an easy scheme to follow okay there's so many players are just standing around and they're not doing anything and this weird kind of iso ball with like no action no scream from T Tami like I don't know what we're doing players should be moving on this play and it should be like a route tree like a like a options tree that you have which is kitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell are number one and two either one of them is driving dishing passing to whoever's open and then Hall is option number three in her favorite spot you can even see the player sagging sagging down and it's just it's so painful to watch this over and over night night and night out and it's like I know that it's like it's one you know point in a game at the end of a quarter but these are Big momentum plays you want to go into you want to go in at the end of the corner like jazzed up you want to be fired up you want to be like yes we put that exclamation point cuz momentum matters and the constant just like we have great offensive plays and then we don't know what to do when the when you know the clock is running down it's near the end of the quarter I'm over it I'm over it so hopefully they fix it I want to see them change I want to see I want to see some better plays some ideas for next game if not I'm open for open for consultation all right now it's time for the Delirious this is the the questions I still have the weird things that happened during the game and in this case it's the reoccurring segment of we're going to review the refs because obviously was a big point in the game game uh it was you know was partly led to Clark getting you know frustrated and bringing the team down the fever kind of like losing their momentum and composure so I'm going to walk through some of the the the key fouls that were that happened and just tell you if they were wrong or right so we're going to kick it off here with Lexi Hall getting absolutely dropped because she went straight up and she gets all ball here she's beside herself I'm beside myself I don't know what the rest we're seeing and calling here um not really a block in my opinion next we're going to have Nelissa Smith she gets foul going to the hole this should have been called but the refs just seem to not just want to swallow the whistle when it gets late in a quarter it's the end of the half here Clark actually going to be called for offensive screen here or foul and it's a little bit Ticky tack but honestly she kind of like leans into her impedes nef's progress you know I can see it going either way here Kelsey Mitchell and Li hul good job you can jump stop and you can stride step in the WNBA and Lexi Hull gets a three rased and that's just brutal and here because I you know I'm not biased Clark flops here and she wraps up around Alon Smith you can see her hug Alon Smith right here this is on Clark she can flop all she wants but that is on Clark and she kind of crashed out after this this dropped the f bomb and really you know sometimes the rests are very inconsistent as you can see a lot a lot of calls here I I disagree with and some of them I'm like I can kind of see it it's probably not going to get fixed this year but until then you're probably going to see the segment every delirious and that's wraps up this episode of the gbd thanks for watching please like And subscribe leave a
