is the phone number uh all right LSU football uh back out on the field yesterday and today uh closed to the media uh so just kind of bouncing around a couple of topics here uh over the uh over this last week but you know one of the big storylines that we talked a little bit about was this defense and the depth and the lack of depth on the defensive line and how it was you know it was exposed a little bit this week with jacobe and Giller just missing a day of practice Giller is back he's fine he's going to be okay he's playing he's at a full go nothing to panic about but all it did was just highlight what happens if you're missing one or two guys at one of these key spots where you lack some depth right and and that is overall when talking about LSU going into the season that is my number one concern that is what I believe could really halt this team from maximizing who they are you know ultimately making a playoff run and being competitive in in a in a playoff situation um would would be the lack of of depth or the inability to navigate the entire season just because of the numbers you know not having enough guys at some positions that you're able to to compete and get through um so you know I I I was reading and and and looking and just kind of looking around and and and finding some media of what was going on um and obviously this defensive line is is something that's getting a a lot of attention and everybody's going to play here right uh when you're talking about the the the Topline guys jacobe Giller is your number one guy and like we said he missed some time earlier this week but he's back he's he's a full go at practice um and you know behind Giller you're talking about a guy in Wisconsin transfer Gio pz and pz is someone who I believe they they are pushing and urging and trying to get there and believe he will get there in time he just may not be as close as as he needs to be at this this point uh but those are your two top guys right and then after that you're talking about jvr Suggs who transferred in from Grand Valley State Jaylen Lee who got back to practice this week who's transferred from the SEC from Florida he's played a lot of football I mean has not played a lot of football uh but but has some some ties to SEC School uh an SEC school in Florida then you've got you know the the offensive line transfer uh in Kimo maoli who is going to have to play you know I mean I think when this this move was made it was initially made out of necessity like I mean you had to have it right I mean it was it was something that um you know you just needed the bodies you just needed the people um and now when when you look at what what the possibility is of the rotation I mean maoli is a guy that's he's going to have to be in it um so when you're talking about some of these these Frontline guys and these backups you're you're talking Giller pz uh behind them jvr Suggs Jaylen Lee uh then you've talking you know guys like Shan Washington we just mentioned Kimo maoli and then the Freshman Dominic McKinley who you know I I I in just kind of reading and talking to to some people covering the program I mean mckenley is going to have to play a lot of football very early on whether whether he's ready or not and I think when you look at him physically you believe well yeah he's ready I mean he's the biggest guy out there and for as much as that will will help him in certain situations it does not mean that that mentally and M mature wise that he's ready to play defensive line in in the SEC I mean that is a that's a grown man sport in in college football so he's going to have to play he will play um but you know when when we're talking about the concerns of of this team going into the season I think it starts and and stops really there at least for me it does and you know after that my second concern on this team is not defensive back at this point it really isn't I mean I I think that defensive back has got some question marks but I believe that they'll be answered I trust the Personnel that they have there I think that you know the issue that they're having on defensive line is going to be remedied in the next couple of years and I know that's that you know in college foot that's a that's an eternity it's a long time but what what what what I'm trying to point towards is the calvar is on the way I mean they have got the Personnel they've got the players they've got the people that are are going to you know make LSU respectable again in those positions this particular season they're going to have to have some guys step up at at defensive line and when you're talking about defensive back they're recruiting that position well but I think they've got enough players on campus now to be respectable and competitive in in the in the conference in the league and be good enough to be a playoff cont end ing typee team I mean I'm okay with Ashton stamps going out there I know Ashton stamps is going to make mistakes what I want to see from Ashton stamps is how he bounces back after allowing a big pickup a touchdown a big play whatever it may be because that's inevitably going to happen and if he can handle that then LSU's got a Bonafide guy that it's going to be fun to watch grow over the next year and a half if you know if he's cornerback one for the next two years at LS you know he's potentially a first round pick and then after that you know I mean I'm anxious to see how guys like JK Johnson looks out there Jer Brown how how some of these guys come in and play and you know what what's going to happen with sage Ryan are they going to keep him at cornerback and you know that's that's a that's a concern it's not a highlevel concern for me but it is a concern of you know him playing that position primarily when it's seems as if he would feel most comfortable playing safety that's what he was in high school that's what it felt like he was when he was at his best LSU out of necessity and need it feels like needs him to play on the outside and hopefully he can he he can figure that out you know I mean I think it's been a little unfair to Sage to not really find a position for him to lock in and and learn how to play and you hate that for him but I mean his athleticism you know just kind of lends you to think that he can he can help you in so many areas um almost too good for his own good yeah I mean it's a little bit of that jacobe Stevens type and luckily they were able to really kind of find a spot for Stevens over the last year and he made a really big impact I'm hoping that that's what happens with sage here in his final season because he's that type of athlete I mean you know I mean the tape doesn't lie I mean you go back and watch his his highlights of who he was I mean he he's a special athlete he's a lot like Jawan Johnson the guy who came out of the same high school um you know I mean played quarterback played defensive back return kicks return punts sometimes they throw it to him you know I mean it was just one of these guys that could do a lot Russell Gage was the same type of player back at redmist in high school I mean if you went out and watched those guys play on a Friday night they did everything I mean you know they drive the bus so it was um you know for for sage I hope this is the season that you know it kind of it it just falls into place for him you know it just kind of clicks because he's a special enough athlete that I believe if he does find comfort and play without thinking then he can he can really help um and for sage what you I guess it since it's out of necessity they've obviously cross trained him at corner and safety corner being the latter part of the Year heading into the season is it kind of like would you imagine it's a z Alexander maybe you hope a freshman steps up kind of wait for the calvary to come until you can move him back to his natural position maybe you know but I think that they're also you know I I kind of believe that they look at cornerback as more needy than than safety I think that they if if the safety things don't work out with the people that they have back there they could probably slide him back there but they they need him more at cornerback to step up um you know I just we we'll see what happens with Z Alexander once he he he gets back if if if he's a full go and what that means for the room um but you know I mean Ryan's gotten a lot of reps at cornerback um so you know I mean we'll we we'll see if if that's the guy coming out I I'm not as I'm not as concerned about defensive back as I am about special teams really I mean the punting situation really worries me and I hope they can get the punt return situation figured out um you know I believe that's those are concerns going into the season I think that there's there's some things around the defense that you know they they know they're going to have to have happen going be a little smok in mirrors like we've said but I think that they'll resolve a lot of the fixable issues overnight that makes them a a you know significantly better group on that side of the ball within fixing some some things that better tacklers you know I think that they're going to be a better tackling team I think there's much more of a focus on tackling with this group and I think the way to become better tacklers is to practice tackling and they're getting after that as far as bringing people to the ground so I I think they'll they'll have that figured out I think they'll have the people in the right position that is the key you know I think Harold Perkins has a has a spot I think you know certain players who Braden Swinson tohaa Walmat guys that you you looked around for last year and wondered where they were that they'll have a place they'll be on the field so you know I mean I think ultimately this is you know easy fixable stuff that elevates the group you know from the the mid 100s you know to to the hopefully to the 60s and then from there you know you you you just got to you're going to have to make some plays you're going to have to do something that that you have an identity for getting off the field on third down taking the ball away creating pressure on the quarterback whatever it is you know and I I think that they're going to be creative enough and the coaching is good enough where they'll have them in the positions to make those plays so you know um those are those are my concerns going into the season and then looking at the schedule real quick before we get there when you talk about Dom McKinley do you see I think the career Arc that they would have wanted if all things were created equal it have been a Mason Smith kind of freshman season trajectory where he plays in nine games starts five I mean as opposed to let's throw him out there week one I mean remember Mason Smith his freshman year he played a ton that's what I'm saying but he didn't start until the like the back half of the season but he played and I don't know if that's that's what I'm asking you is it going to be more of we're going to have to play him no I think I mean I think he's going to play Early you know I mean I think they're going to have to put him out there just because like we said I mean they're they're almost desperate for him in the in in the situation of players they don't they don't have anybody that looks like him right and that would say the same thing for Mason Smith he didn't play in the UCLA game obviously got burned against MCN and then Mississippi state is when he played a little a little bit more Auburn than Kentucky Florida Old Miss is when he got his real run of the like you're a starter now yeah cuz in that Mississippi State game three tackles Auburn one Tackle Kentucky five tackles so that's when you could like he was the bright spot of that Kentucky game because it was a disaster I I don't remember the rotational defensive line that year specifically [Music] um I I don't remember being it as desperate as this you know I mean I think M you know from Don McKinley standpoint he has to play yeah I'm saying you weren't like Mason Smith I know who you are five star kind of the same tout coming in but it wasn't we need you right now it was let's get this guy on the field when we can you kind of got to ease him along for McKinley it feels like buddy we'd like to have brought you along a little bit slower but we're gonna need you and I would say the same thing I think gabri ORD is more in that situation where he's at a position where you have depth and you're going to see him and see him flash but not a whole lot of pressure on you Sean Spears yeah you know I mean he's a guy that I think you can be patient with even though you want him to to to be ready to play I mean they they think that he'll he'll probably be on the field faster than than you know he will sitting so I mean you can be patient with those types of guys and um some guys you just can't you know some guys you you're going to have to you're going to have to Fast Track and get to the field very early and I think you know for Don McKinley he's definitely one of those guys you had Sona fooa derell Cherry Cardell Cardell Thomas U to look at some of the defensive linemen that were coming in Hey Garrett Dinger still on this team freshman let's get down the list Bryce Langston wow Neil frell yeah Joe Evans Jacobian gillery Glenn Logan ja ja and Roy so those were your two kind of stalwarts there but you could see what there was room for a Mason Smith to be able to get but you you felt okay I feel like on this defensive line there's probably one spot closer for Mason I mean for uh Dom yeah for Dom G's like all right this is the slot that we wish we had one more guy for you yeah but he's going to have to slide in and play yeah I mean that was they could have gotten Wingo back that's why they fought so hard to do it yeah I mean he would have been he would have been enormous for this team if they could have gotten him back but um obviously he moves on he's with Detroit now in training camp and perfect spot LSU is trying to FasTrack Dom M Kenley to the field and get him ready to go uh true freshman has the size H has all of the physical intangibles but look you got to take uh you got you got to take that next step mentally too and if Dom M Kinley can do that um you know I think that that would be kind of the next step of his Evolution uh remember daily we're brought to you by G roof online at geax roof.com G roof bringing you our show coming through today uh make sure that if uh you have anything that you're concerned about uh get our friends from G roof over there as well uh speaking of that defensive line one other position that look I think uh I'm really starting to have some confidence going into the season is is The Edge spots I think LSU's got some bodies there I think they've got you know some really good coaching you heard Brian Kelly yesterday speaking of Kevin peoples Kevin peoples has done an just a really solid job as far as developing um the these Edge guys you've got some young guys there like Gabe reliford that we've talked about reliford in my opinion is definitely going to play as a true freshman he'll play early in my opinion and I think he'll you know really come along on on a on a timeline that makes a lot of sense because of the guys that they have in front of him and I think from a you know that that edge rushing uh position I think the conversation starts with Braden Swinson I think he you know he's a guy who you could see the flashes last year when he got in there he played at a very high level you know he's one of those guys that last season you wonder where he was you know was it was it U a goou who they would play um you know a ton and it was just it was heads scratching on why Swinson could not get more reps and run because every time he was in there I mean he would make some type of impact I mean he he was definitely a guy that you wondered why doesn't he play more um and then you know Savon Jones has had a Fant fantastic camp and hopefully that can that can translate over to having a solid season because look they've I think we've all kind of been waiting on on Savon to to Really bust out you've seen flashes at times you've also wondered where he was at times and this season from everything that you know we've seen from everything that the coaches have said it feels like Savon Jones is is set to have a a really solid season uh and then behind them I think it's it's Paris Shand who is a versatile player if you get into a bind I think you can maybe impossibly drop his hand you know drop his uh his hand down into the dirt um Deshawn walmac is a guy who you know I think is going to play a ton of football it's only a matter of time before he probably Vis for maybe even some starting time um and then you know we mentioned reliford I think reliford is in that mix of a a rotation so I think they've got a nice selection of Veteran Savon Jones Braden Swinson even a guy like Paris Shand into some young talented guys like walmac and reliford I mean you're talking about two five stars in back-to-back recruiting classes that you've got on the field in the rotation I mean that's that's solid you know I mean Five Guys that I mean I would expect reliford to get a little bit of play early on May maybe USC I don't I don't know what if that's too early for a a true freshman at that position to step in there when you have some depth but you know from everything that they've said in Camp it's it's obvious that they they are trusting him a bit he was a guy that was there in Spring you know I mean he's been there for a while so I I believe that you know I mean they've got a nice rotation there on on the defensive line I think um I mean we talked a ton about deshun wck last year I would imagine that the way that he's being talked about and what you've kind of seen in Camp don't be surprised if he's one of those third down pass rush specialist type guys at least early on where they bring him in obviously LSU's defensive ways came in third down last year where we were I think everybody was clamoring for deshun WC just to get in the game yeah and every time he did he was a disruptor you would see one snap played one quarterback hurry it's like well maybe play him 10 snaps and see what same thing with Winson yeah I mean it was it was maddening I mean it was like one thing watching the same thing yeah the one thing you can't do you're running away from yeah I mean it's it's and that's the thing that we're talking like with this defensive staff I think that there's some some things that you can easily change and improve drastically right and it may not you know it's not going to make you a top 20 top 25 group but you know I mean there's some things that that you're like I mean come on you trying to get off the field or not I mean you don't have a spot for Harold Perkins yeah I mean like that's that's maybe easier said than done but from a football coaching standpoint I'd imagine like we can figure this out today you know I mean we can get this done pretty quickly um he the tackling I mean you know last year's team they ran away from the ball at times I mean the tackling was absurd I think that's the definition of thinking too much on the football field you're halfway between where should I be in my assignment to go get the football and they were just caught in between a ton of times and I have a lot of confidence after hearing the Blake Baker sound of what he was saying at the presser where he goes the way that they're practicing tackling it's not so much wrapping up and because he's like you only get four sessions where you can really actually tackle each other in Camp so we've been working on funneling to the football tagging off when you tag off is there somebody behind you it's more of the angle game as opposed to when you when you see somebody wrap him up and bring him down it's the calary is coming everybody like 11 to the football which when LSU defense was right you would see Michael Brockers flying over the pile in 2011 you're like the whole defensive line is eight yards down the field I think that's what LSU was trying to get back to to where it's not these one-on ones and if you are on a one-on-one turn them back to your help because Al you didn't do that last year there a lot of almost chaos and space where people are going one way the other way and it's the ball's right there brother yeah and so I think with Blake Baker and what they're working on it's kind of retooled and rewired the brain as to what you're supposed to do defensively because that that's if you don't give up 80 right and just keep it to 12 and let's reset this thing and try again three four stops a game right it's not it's it's you got one against Missouri and one it's yeah right I mean it's not you get one against old miss you win you're not asking them to be revolutionary you're asking them to maybe take the ball away one time and give you three stops cuz the points are could have come and I think that's what Matt really good off yeah Matt house was so afraid of it and I don't know what his actual theory was behind it didn't get a chance to ask but it was obviously keep everything in front of you and it was these 12 15 Playard drives and which always culminated in the same thing six points and with I think with biggar's defense who's a much more attacking style defense it's going to be you might give up some big ones but you could cause some chaos and cause some turnovers and flip the field and have an advantage because with this LSU offense I don't think you have the luxury of fair catching every time one punt returns or let them score and you can fair Catch and Go 75 yards I think that they want to flip the field a couple of times to put yourself in plus position to score yeah no I I mean I I think this team will have goals defensively I think they'll have some landmarks that they they know that they can get to it won't be anything that's you know crazy easy um but like I said I mean three four stops takeway you give the ball to the offense let them chew up the clock and keep the ball out of the punter's hand and you know I think you you you got a chance to me it comes down to a couple of games really I mean I think it's when I look at the schedule on paper the one that really jumps out to me that feels like could be the the SW wi game of the season I mean we can break them all down but the game that I think is the difference of 9 and three of 10 and two is Texas A&M I really do I really do I think first off I think Texas A&M is flying a little under the radar going into the year their roster is not as depleted as we all may think because of the the hits that that one recruiting class has taken and look it's been slaughtered it it it it feels like their roster may be you know run down when it's not the case they've done good in the portal and they have recruited year in year out at a pretty solid level to to have some some dudes they also they they have a quarterback they they they have a guy that you know I mean if you if you disrespect him you can you can he can beat you um and talk about Conor Wegman so you know I mean I I I know a lot of games are going to pop on LSU schedule right I mean when you look at it on paper obviously that first one with USC I even think the South Carolina game has some Intrigue early on in the season it'll be an 11:00 a.m. kickoff you're going to be in a pretty hostile environment over there in in in in Colombia um so you know I mean I think there there's some games on the schedule obviously you've got Old Miss coming into Baton Rouge on October 12th which is going to be an enormous game Alabama on at first November and you know that first Saturday November is always huge right you had Oklahoma coming in here for the first time as an SEC opponent what going to be you know very rockus you got Florida you know I mean that game kind of speaks for itself as far as it goes the one that's kind of you know not necessarily talked about the one that's not necessarily on the radar when we're all talking about the games that LSU is going into the season and the ones that we want to see I just feel like A&M is kind of sitting in a spot with with LSU on the schedule I mean first off you you kind of look where it is right I mean it's October 26th it's the week before the B so it's the week before you you know you take the week off and you play Bama the ne the the next week the leadup games to that just starting in October is October 12th Old Miss October 19th Arkansas and then the following week October 26th is Texas A&M it's going to be the third straight SEC game in a row it's going to to be one that you know you've already played pretty much up to your midseason point and you know it's right there before the buy I just think it's tucked in a place where you know that could be the game that determines whether or not you can get to 10 wins in my opinion and A&M's got a team that you know that they're going to be fired up to play you you know that they're going to be fired up to play LSU it's a home game at Kyle Field I just heads up man that one is the one to me that kind of jumps off because the all you know the other ones are very obvious you know I mean Old Miss is a going to be a huge game huge I mean maybe the best atmosphere of the Year B's coming in in November you know what that's going to be you know I mean it's Kay deor first time to LSU I mean it's yeah there's story lines all over the place Oklahoma Thanksgiving week Florida coming in or excuse me LSU goes to the swamp but you know I mean it's Texas A&M game sitting in a spot where it's easy to kind of Overlook well not only that but week8 you'll kind of have an idea of what Texas A&M is right you'll have elco's fingerprints all over that thing and Christian just showed me a stat where do they is it number one in the country number one the SEC number one in the SEC and returning production and we all know like what you've seen when you bring back kind of your nucleus and core of what you had the year before how much that translates to the next year and for them to be number one in the in retention I know they changed their head coach but you're walking into a pretty at least everybody that's on your team is looking around say I know all these guys and you're not really trying to re integrate people and start start fresh you're just starting fresh from the top yeah because there's been a lot of cases of coaches coming in and then people hit the portal and he's like all right I got to rebuild this thing now like Brian Kelly was dealt that hand of you got 40 people on the team and elco's walking into a situation where it's like your team's here you coach it yeah and I mean look don't get me wrong Elco had work to do oh yeah you know I mean it's not like he walked was the reason yeah I mean it's not like he was Caleb Williams and walked into the Chicago Bears right you know I mean it's like hey you got some you got some holes to fill um but you know I mean you got mfet over there I mean moffett's pissed off he knows what the SEC looks like he knows what you know what what winning teams look like he probably knows what Texas A&M's been missing and it's been that toughness I mean how many times have you think he's yelled to them I'm going to make you boy I know what the your reputation is I know what y'all's problem is 23 hour days right I mean it's it it's I just think that A&M is for LSU's sake on this year's schedule could be the watch that trap and not as if that that's a trap but you know like not that they won't have just there's a lot of Stories on this schedule there's a lot of people that you're paying attention to there's a lot of games that are intriguing there's a lot of you know quote unquote trap but it it's because now you have to look at trap games totally differently because of the way the schedule is set up right like it's not somebody out of conference like oh or an SEC e team that you don't play all that often it's all one big pile and it's it feels like for me at least A&M is in that bucket now and Oklahoma at the end of the year because that could be an absolute I think they're trying to make something out of LSU Oklahoma I really do I mean they've tried everything with LSU the league has tried everything with LSU they want they want a marquee game for LSU because they know their brand can pull and I think this Oklahoma game might make sense I mean really and truly when when when I think about it you kind of talk about it out loud I mean that's a that's a game that probably will have impli you know implications every year I mean it'll have something to say about what's going on in the league and I think the league wants the schedule prioritized a lot like the NFL has done over the last five years where they want weeks 17 and 18 to be big like they wanted to have like playoff implications seeding on the line buys they want all that stuff to be in play on the final weekend it kind of keep that train rolling into the playoffs I think college footballs looked at that model and thought how can we emulate that how can we kind of Stack the deck to maybe see if we can't force that into the future right where I mean how much juud can we get out there a limit yeah I mean like think if this LSU Oklahoma game has something on the line of who goes to Atlanta what that would what that would feel like you know I mean during that week and then you you have that same type of feel next year in Norman with LSU there you know I mean that would be something that the league would probably look at and say hey look let's just make this a Mainstay every year because you've got Texas playing Texas A&M that weekend you've got Auburn playing Alabama that weekend you've got Mississippi State playing Old Miss that weekend you've got all these it's rivalry week yeah I mean you've got all these Rivals going up against one another and a lot of those games are having implications on what's going to happen at the next you know playoff SEC Championship Game level and I think LSU Oklahoma when you're just kind of in a room looking at all these Brands side by side makes the most sense of you know I mean who's got the partners well Oklahoma Texas obviously but yeah L Texas Texas A&M you know I mean like to a degree I mean I think when when you're looking at like all of them St on a on a board you're kind of saying like who's paired up with who a lot of them already have you know they already have their date unless she shows up late to the party stag like who am I taking tonight right and like I mean everybody's kind of side eye and thinking do I want to dance with this I might yeah but I don't know I ended up under the bleachers again right I mean it just I think see you next year probably makes a lot of sense you want to come to my house n I'll see you next year I'll see you at your house next year my number right yeah don't if I like that or not seven of times you can go forever right but Oklahom bur guy was good you like that didn't you right poor vanderbelt uh yeah exactly U but Oklahoma schedule's brutal yes it opens up even obviously Temple Houston both at home and then they have two lane coming to Oklahoma what sneaky sneaky Trap game for them and then you have Tennessee God lord they start with four straight home games Tennessee at Oklahoma then they go to Auburn which I'm not I think alurn sneaky in the weeds here yes yes and then they they have Texas at home or in the Red River shootout then you have South Carolina at Oklahoma then they go to Old Miss they get a little bit of a bump here with Maine at home and then they have Missouri we'll see what they are without Blake Baker but their offense will still be strong and then they have Alabama at home and then they go to LSU so all of that leading up to they could be a three four lost team and then they're playing spoiler at that point or they're yeah and it's like they just beat Alabama coming into Baton Rouge and it's okay this thing's own um people inside the chat want to know if it's bring your kid to work day with Lloyd and Christian Mike blink twice if you need help I put on deodorant today for him put out all the stops moric you're not the father we start cuz there a better segment in television and like yeah the DNA test like when we come back like that's what I did that's why I'm that's what I did jie not the father Jamie Howard is out of the game in a sling oh old school sling too it was an old school sling Melvin Hill the backup quarterback look at that great play fake great play fake let it rip ah over throws Eddie Kennison that's just a play yeah just throw it that looked like old Anthony J when he came in Anthony jins could throw it like that he did to travin Durado one time that's right but Durado caught it about 15 yards past the Lanta SC he dead people forget that he ran about 70 yards we got a quarterback killing LSU right now uh all right we'll be right back like share comment subscribe as always we were brought to you pushing can't 72% of the production of SC on Texas A&M's roster returning to the ages so that's tops in the SEC as we said just games on LSU schedule ones that you might be overlooking talking about all these big games and may not give the attention that it may deserve watch out for A&M man just that game is to me is the difference of LSU going 9 and three and 10- and2 this season October 26th at Kyle Field A&M preseason number 20 in the country you know it's going to be a big game for them I mean you know they they love to play LSU in anything they love to beat LSU in anything make a cup about it and make a it's a huge deal when when LSU shows up for him and that is a big spot that you know we're not talking about we're talking about USC we're talking about UCLA we're talking about Old Miss we're talking about Bama Oklahoma Florida um that A&M game for LSU it's a huge one for the Tigers don't forget daily we're brought to you by yog lotes online at the yog ladies.com it's where you can find them uh uh they start the day at 5:30 got a schedule for everybody uh the schedule that can meet with everybody uh classes all throughout the day uh was Keeping Up with the yog lotes on somebody for everyone you can get online and check out the class instructors you can see uh the teachers you can see the people who are out there uh teaching the classes uh find it online at the yogis. it is a perfect mix of cardo uh muscle sculpting uh all in a heated studio uh along with stretching with yoga uh that you can find online at the yog ladies.com find them there at the yog ladies.com is where you can get them uh big news yesterday if you saw this LSU announced as the Amazon docu series uh for money game the money game which is uh produced by Amazon and is going to be an nil focused documentary um in a series following LSU athletes during last school year last season um and they are following Libby Dunn Angel Reese and Jaden Daniels I mean my goodness this is going to be incredible programming right um so it's on Amazon Prime correct it's on Amazon Prime it was produced by axios entertainment and Shaquille O'Neal's Jersey Legends it was green lit by Amazon Prime's video last month LSU of course and O'Neal O'Neal of course the most famous LSU Alum the documentary reports uh purports to follow some of the world's most sought-after college athletes through one of the most T tumultuous and nail-biting years of college athle to date they follow Jaden Daniels Angel Reese and liby Dunn uh and will track them through last season I gotta be honest it's going to be awesome right it's coming up September 10th let's see that's the the launch date so a couple of weeks away that uh we'll see this but incredible promotion yes for LSU I mean you want to talk about what LSU has the opportunity to recruit towards and here's here's where LSU is really getting it figured out and uh Dr Ry Brown is going to come in here she's big with the L uh the L club and big in the Alumni Association and a proud former LSU athlete uh still a record holder within LSU soccer she's the all-time leading goal scorer within LSU women's soccer uh she played in the early 2000s uh and somebody is very you know prideful about the purple and gold um this this is something that we've seen football coaches recruit towards we've seen all you know baseball basketball track and field all sports recruit towards LSU's brand what this is going to do for the brand is I mean put it on steroids man I mean the opportunity to be able to partner with someone like Amazon have a producer with someone like Shaq featuring I mean that's the three biggest athletes on campus last season and you've got a camera crew from Amazon following them all around going dayto day week to week with them and going to document it on on one of the largest streaming Platforms in the world I mean LSU's brand is on fire and now like we've talked about a lot with these these football recruits this is not coincidence that you know they're just starting to hit on these recruits they've been relevant and been having these conversations with all these guys for a while and for a minute there it felt like you know they were kind of the the one that would be left at the ball you know I mean it was the one that LSU was the one that that that was kind of left at the altar now they're starting to close on DJ picket and Derek Meadows and you know guys that are National five-star recruits that you know they're going to take and have to have some type of compensation with their commitment and with their pledge and LSU has gotten those conversations really aligned organized and figured out which is why they've had so much success in recruiting over the last couple of months look it's not just that but that has been the biggest piece that they were missing that they've gotten figured out is that n i LSU is finally aligned with a message and the ability to have all these components put in place where they can take care of the business I think that the angle of this if I tell me if I'm wrong just looking through the names obviously liby Dunn might be the face of nio just because of how much her brand has exploded without I mean she's been injured so not the same amount of production that you would expect from somebody to be that I guess wealthy in the space because it's name image and likeness and You' associate an athlete with the sport but she's kind of transcended that F in that same boat following her around will be a lot about me being able to do two careers essentially at once and NSU or LSU giving me the flexibility to do so Angel Reese Transcendent star and both nil and on the basketball court for Jaden Daniels I think that might be the biggest coup it might not be the most interesting in terms of what the story is or what the The Branding behind it but I think that also will be the most interesting part because he comes in as I transferred for LSU to LSU maybe for this opportunity where I wouldn't have been able to do it at Arizona State if you want to tie that angle in like obviously he was looking for playing time but to go from a somebody that was getting his locker cleaned out by teammates at Arizona State to a Heisman winning quarterback at LSU I think is a a big star turn and it shows what the power of LSU can be yeah and I think that is is going to be a great part for LSU as well where you know you'll see that star begin to shine on that documentary you know like that I I don't think that Shaquille O'Neal knew going into the series we didn't mention FL FL will be on it and obviously so she the most entertaining she's got the biggest brand on campus and and probably did last year you know in including those people we were talking got on a track with Lil Wayne you know um so you know I mean I just the the ability that LSU has right now from a promotional and marketing standpoint is as powerful as a brand that there is in the world I mean really and truly I mean I'm talking that it's you know as powerful as a brand General Electric NFL Honda I mean like get you know think of Brands and things that just kind of roll to the top of your your your mind I mean LSU within Collegiate Athletics over the last decade in my opinion has cornered the market on how to promote a program a university a football program I mean whether it's the highlight videos of 2019 whether it's the stars of the program ending up at the biggest parties in the world and on every A-list from Paris fashion show to Michael Ruben's July 4th white party oh Ryan Clark was salty I mean what what whether it's social whether it's Odell Beckham on the field or whether it's Justin Jefferson becoming the highest paid wide receiver in the history of the game it it's nonstop to Libby Dunn dating Paul skin I mean like story book it's it's it's almost never ending to hey let's show up to campus run a documentary on Angel Reese FL and Livy Dunn and end up backing in to the Heisman Trophy winner get a camera over there you know I mean it's it it's as strong as a brand as Coca-Cola as Pepsi is Reebok is Nike I mean like all of the the the the brands that we all think of LSU is in that class and now with the ability to have nil conversations that make sense to prospects the possibilities are endless you know I mean I was speaking at a round table yesterday over at Drusilla Seafood uh This Crew and when talking about this team there's some concerns two years from now and I know that there's you know you're asking to to be patient and a lot of people in college athletics don't don't have the time to to be patient but if you think about what these nil conversations what they've done in recruiting and what two years from now LSU's roster is going to look like with you know everything from Shelton Samson being a senior to Bryce Underwood being a sophomore and everything in between I mean did you see yesterday that Louisiana is now going to have the number one player in the country for the class of 2027 again Elijah Havens at the Dunham School the quarterback is rated the number one player in the country in the class of 2027 quarterback and if you have not seen avens oh then I would I would tell you go buy the ticket I watched him start as an eighth grader in the state championship game as the wide receiver and if Matt house if Matt House's son does not transfer in to the Dunham school and play quarterback there Havens is the starting quarterback at Dunham as an eighth grader on a state championship caliber team a team that went to the State title game and lost it in the last two minutes I mean they had the lead for a lot of that game but Havens as an eighth grader was a was a huge player and now is um been rated the number one player in the class of 2027 and I mean is a big time big- time quarterback um Big Time athlete is there a chance he outgrows the position I I don't think so just because like he's got all the intangibles you know like he he's a quarterback I mean he throws with touch he throws with accuracy he throws with power he throws he can move I mean I I watched that I watched u high Dunham play in basketball last year the game he's in ninth grade and and look I'm not saying that they're you know I mean he he's in ninth grade playing on a high school floor with some High Caliber athletes I mean there's not a D1 basketball player out there other than him but it's it's a big- Time game I mean these gu they're going back and forth and again he's a freshman he's 14 years old on this floor he's the only player that does not come out of the game the game goes into double overtime he's the only player here that done come out of the floor he's got like a quiet 27 and the only reason why it's quiet is because he's so smart in the sense of his instincts and setting people up and passing that it feels like he's more of a distributor than he is a scorer and then you go get in the scat you know go look in the stat book and he's got like 20 25 27 points he's as good as an athlete that Baton Rouge has produced I'm telling you in in in a while as good as stingly as good as those guys who have come through here over the last couple of years that have broughten National notoriety to a school like Dunham and I don't mean that with any disrespect but I mean for all intents and purposes Dunham's in a neighborhood I mean like and not in in a neor it's like in the back of a neighborhood I mean if I told a lot of people from Baton Rouge take me to Dunham people would be like where is it it's like trying to go to Hogwarts I mean really it's in a it's it's it's in it's in Wimbledon isn't is it Wimbledon neighborhood I mean like I mean it's academic yeah and I mean like three quarters it's it's gotten really I mean I mean yeah I mean like the the the facilities have gotten competitive within the last five years I mean the gymnasium is beautiful the the campus is beautiful but if you see it you'd be like where are we this is the number one player in the country school you know I mean like yeah and the second one in the last 5 years I mean like you know it's he is he's for real I mean and not only that he is a great kid he is um very highly educated I mean I believe like he's already taken his ACT SAT and he's got like a 29 I mean he's a widely bright school like I mean he's I mean like I think he had aspirations to go to the ivy league until like you know like Nick Sab and Kirby Smart were like nah man like you can do anything you want like we we can take care of all football I think he loves LSU I know Joe Sloan and him have a great relationship he's been on campus a ton um and you know I mean he's if you back up Bryce Underwood with Elijah Haven LSU is a quarterback Factory I mean like by the time Haven would get here you would be talking about 10 years of quarterbacks that would start with Joe burrow include Jaden Daniels Garrett nus meire whatever happens Bryce Underwood and then Elijah Haven I mean who knows what happens with the guys that they already have on campus with guys like Ricky Collins I don't mean any disrespect to them but I mean these guys are number one players in the country type type players you know what I mean like and this is LSU football I mean it just that type of stuff a decade ago was a foreign language a decade ago if Elijah Haven was at the Dunham School they' be trying to reclassify him now oh my god get him to campus we oh they' ruin him yeah absolutely ruin him they would ruin him I mean like they they they'd have him starting at 14 at LSU I mean like they they were so desperate back in the day but I mean to think that you could go from Bryce Underwood to Elijah Haven from that's that's I mean you can go Jadon Daniels or let's go Joe burrow skipp a year Jadon Daniels Garrett nuspire Bryce Underwood Elijah Haven I mean pinch me and Blake Baker's here now it's just uh didn't have if you've not seen him play though I would I would really he's worth the admission he's worth the ticket you know I mean like you go see him first off there's a picture of him standing next to Neil WI when he's in eighth grade and like Neil Wier is not I mean he's not small I mean he's not you know he's not like my you know he's not like 5'9 he's not like some typical Little Italian but I mean Haven is like he's like staring down at him I mean he's he is he's so physically imposing at 14 years old I can't imagine what he's going to look like his freshman year in college I can't imagine what he's going to look like his junior year in college I mean and if you watch him play basketball is he play football yes he's a football player been decided for him yeah I mean no but but I mean I think like the people around him have like recognized like I mean there's basketball coaches that are creeping around you know they're like What's the deal I mean is is he a football player or not and I think they're like yes he's a football player he's the number one player in the country I mean he's one of these players that has marar and Michael Clayton they both yeah absolutely same thing Marcus Spears's son yeah is a total dog I mean he's a I think he's a going into his junior year in high school maybe a sophomore year and he's different look at look at this kid this is Haven I believe I F that might be that might be last year I mean that looks kind of like small for him I mean probably in eighth grade but yeah Marcus Spears's kid if you've not seen him I mean CU Marcus he married a volleyball player from LSU a basketball playera yeah Aisha that's right I'm sorry and he kind of looks a little more like he's a perfect mix of them Junior Marcus Pierce junior is she's the number one player in the country I mean Marcus if you think about it you put together yeah I mean it's perfect like LeBron Arena yes that's exactly what I was going to say make it happen I mean just just one give him a eye exam what about uh good morning good to see you good morning happy Friday guys let's go it's um I let me tell you something so LSU soccer just played University of South Alabama last night very impressive game it's yes it's I mean it's same as football so our preseason is their preseason um they're going to have their purple and gold scrimmage next Thursday if anybody wants to make it um and then they open up against Arizona on the 25th um so yeah and they they look I very like explosive offense okay we got some strong defense so sometimes you can just feel the energy like just like football like there's just an energy that's around that you just feel like it's just going to be a great year how were they last year um they started off you know strong and then towards the end you know kind of fell off so it's all yeah like you it's listen it's just like in football like SEC is just always tough to to play in and and they played some other like ACC which is a big soccer schools um so you got to come in and be ready and give your aame day in and day out because even in the SEC a Vanderbilt or somebody else can upset you you know like you can really never count anybody out in the SEC and it and it's the same way does Vanderbilt have a soccer team they do why why do they not have a softball team you're going to have to ask the commodor about that sorry but I mean I mean does it make any sense I mean they get a lot of money they do from the SEC they do what I never noticed they people starting to ask questions I never noticed that they didn't have a softball team I mean it's kind of that's what they want you to do it's kind of a crime it is I mean like it is in interc Collegiate Athletics to have the budget that Vanderbilt does e f no no no he reading y'all he is reading line one and two okay I need you to read above the green line I mean that's a little no it it's not you hold it I got it I got it no hold hold it hold where where left to right I can read it I can read it above the green line above the green line you see how he's stalling right now B hit the definitely no D no Okay Okay C yes e no F no hold it back up you want to do it I can go e FP t
