what's up guys Fitz here I'm joined with Brendan morote with uh to talk about his upcoming fight this Saturday against Isaac delarian how you doing Brendan excited to have you on here I'm pumped to be on man thanks for having me I'm doing good my guy how are you good you know so this is I imagine way different you know your first like full fight week in the UFC how does it feel you know as opposed to you know kind of crazy circumstance in your debut you know fighting on I think it was only what 3 4 days notice it was it was something insane like that right yeah it was like four days notice four and a half days notice where uh you know I had to jump up a weight class but even jumping up one weight class on four days notice you're still cutting 12 13 pounds um and that was like uh that was pretty much all water weight because you really can't diet in four days I can lose a pound or two but this one's great man it's exciting it's at 145 my natural weight class where I'm pretty big at 145 and I had a full Camp I've lived here in Vegas uh training at Syndicate under John Wood the past five months five six months so uh yeah just going into the UFC my second fight being fully prepared it's exciting man I I get the show everyone what I can do and not that it matters but prove everyone wrong that's talking [ __ ] off the first loss you know what I mean so it's it's like a nice big middle finger I like it yeah of course and I mean it was obviously a tough loss but you know that's a really tough fight taking Terrence mckin on a couple days notice man and I know it was a quick finish and obviously not the result you wanted but if he's going to beat you that's how he's pretty much going to do it in the first minute you know so it's it's a mckin fight you're going to sleep or he's going to sleep it's one or the other you know exactly and you got [ __ ] balls for taking that fight I'm sure there's a lot of people who turned it down dude there was a bunch of people on the UFC roster that turned it down exactly and I'm I'm over here in my little small Hicktown New Hampshire I'm like [ __ ] send it let's go let's go so talk to me about the move to Syndicate I mean is that something that's a result of the last fight or something you were planning for a while and you kind of have the incentive now that you're in the UFC yeah I mean what um after that last fight I came down and I spent two weeks down in Vegas um I was going to do the pi testing and all the stuff like that get a bunch of UFC stuff done and I always want to check out Syndicate so that's where I trained for those two weeks after I trained there for the two weeks I went home and I was like bro like I I want to back so we planned the trip me a few of the homies we were out there for like another month and then uh getting ready for this this last fight that got that got cancelled unfortunately I spent a whole Camp there and I've been living here for the past five months moved the family down got my own place and uh yeah everything's everything's changed man but for the better I you know I miss my family back home and everything but as far as a fighter I've grown exponentially it's a it's a it's insane yeah I mean the tools there to you in Vegas obviously are are a lot more than in New Hampshire you know even though you were fighting out a really good gym back home you know um up there with Tyson charier and all them New England cartel but um of course I trained with a bunch of uh Killers down there not only at the cartel but my homies everywhere but the thing about New England is you kind of have to drive far to like get to all your training sessions and the number of good guys is smaller than a place like Vegas so uh you know you when your teammate's back home you figure each other out after a while you know I believe you need surprises in new training Partners um to grow you know if you're if you're always training expecting what you know you're never going to grow yeah that that's a really good point there and I mean speaking of training Partners I seen in another interview you're training a lot with um Vince Morales who who just had a really sick win a sick submission win and Cody steel who's fighting on Contender Series so you guys got a nice little chance here to go on a run and get some real nice momentum going and Vince started you guys off in a sick way you got a you got a big uh yeah he started off yeah we do man he he started us off right and uh Vince killed it um he did what he had to he did what he knew he could do um dude he's sneaky with those little Dar chokin the vuan like he modifies him but yeah it's me I'm going up next I'm going to get my win guaranteed um I don't play for points I don't play to lame prey I I want The Knockout and I'm going to get it uh then Cody steel is going to follow that right up and then we got morab the very next week after and then we got khil coming up on a title fight so we got a big lineup going down yeah good things going on at Syndicate MMA I just saw John Wood launch the podcast yes so big things coming over there but um talk to me about kind of like your um background how you got into MMA I've seen you said you know you had some boxers in your family but what was it like how did you find your way over to the New England cartel yeah I I started like I said I started out uh boxing I had some boxers in the family every kid grew up doing karate my mom had me in Karate for a few years growing up but the uh what I really fell in love with was the boxing and I have as far as like I hate the word street fight because I grew up in like smaller towns and stuff but um I always you know Middle School High School always fights uh so I'm definitely more of a fighter than I am an athlete I just blessed with the athletic ability but me mentality wise I'm a fighter so but yeah I went to the boxing gym and at that time I was like 15 16 around that in MMA was just really blowing up you know like UFC was getting some big Superstars you see it on TV I think it was on like Spike TV at the time I have no idea um I probably shouldn't have been on Spike DP at like 14 15 whatever but um yeah I found my way into an MMA gym and I never looked back since I trained at a couple of gyms locally back home and found myself at the cartel so that's awesome and it was kind of like coming out of high school you you knew what you were going to try to pursue it as a career or you had to figure it out oh yeah no I knew I knew I'd make it I dropped out uh my senior year and uh I had to do some night classes to even graduate and I'm like I hate school anyways why am I doing this I'm done I dropped out of school man and just started working and training so I knew I knew fighting was something that if I put my mind to it it's something I can make as a job in a career and we're doing it now yeah that's awesome to have the foresight you know so young and and to really be you know living that dream um absolutely I know you spoke about it a little bit but your last fight I mean you said unfortunately got canceled I think it's really unfortunate cuz that you know that would have been a layup Muhammad y I want they wanted that at um you know we we were supposed to fight he was fight at 45 and he's a 45 you know so am I um I ended up getting an injury like five months ago we were supposed to fight twice I ended up getting an injury we're like ah man like it was an injury that it would have really affected the fight if it got injured again and then he ended up getting a really bad staff infection I guess so they're like all right whatever we're going to scrap it and reschedule we us rescheduled what was it Saudi Arabia AB Abu Dhabi what was it so I was like bro perfect and uh you know you got your haters at message and everything like you're only as good as your last fight when you're at this level and it's sad but it's true so after the mckin fight I now suck and like oh yeah yeah I was gonna get you but I knew I would starch him in inside one round and Uh I that fight proved it he went up against a guy couldn't handle the shots uh shouldn't be a 5 anyways I think I would have I I actually know I would have finished them earlier so that sucks man but hey it is what it is you know it's all in God's time and God's planning and now we're here fighting Isaac yep and everything happens for a reason talk to me about the matchup with Isaac because I mean it's kind of crazy The Bookies have you almost nine to1 Underdog that's that's an insane line you know but um Isaac's a pretty highly talented Prospect but he just went out there and got fraud checked you know by CR Rod 100 so this is my thing and I have confidence and but I'm not delusional you know I mean there's a difference between confidence and delusional um we almost have to be a little delusional in your confidence but when you're putting stuff like betting lines and you're you're putting these numbers up it blows my mind blows my mind I have fought in division one wrestlers outside of the UFC that were at 155 I've foughten better wrestlers than him and I've beaten them so they got to like start using computers for the me for the I swear to God because some dudes are like they must be dick riding or something sorry it blows my mind how there's that much of a difference but yeah I'm excited man um I do not believe he belongs at 145 he's too small he belongs at 135 I think he doesn't want to do the work because he did college wrestling his his whole life and he cut weight but uh boohoo too bad he's going to learn why there's weight classes and you know his last fight with Cod he was talking about how he worked the hardest on his cardio and he's going to show people how his cardio is and how he can go all rounds will you Gess in round one I don't gas in round one and even if I do get tired I keep holding the same Pace till the end he has offensive college wrestling but we're at the point in time in this sport of MMA where there's wrestling and then there's MMA wrestling if you think you're going to hold the grip and hold me down you're you're insane you know if you want to just hold there like a we blanket I'll start butchering your face off my back off my side whatever I have to do but um you know I respect him as another man but as far as an opponent no I'm gonna run through this guy and if he wants to lay and pray it's not going to last very long he'll get tired and I will clip him because all he has is offensive wrestling and I have the game everywhere else he can't deal with my power he can't de with my range and he's gonna take his first TKO KO loss 100% yeah W love to hear it I mean you know I think he's a tough opponent you know definitely like you're saying good control you know he's going to try to be the hammer but I think you know he's a lot better Hammer than nail you know some of these guys you know they're really good when they're doing well and then when the fight start you know doesn't start to go their way they look like a completely different fighter in there you you're right on the money with that one he is a very good Hammer uh but he's not a good nail he doesn't like getting hit he has basic amateur defense covering his face he gets hit and we can see he shoots and shoots and shoots and he's desperate you know he's not like this khabib style riding your wrist breaking you down pounding your face in he'll try in the first minute or two he'll unload his shots but look at his career outside of the UFC do you think I'm impressed by anyone that you did that to absolutely not so uh no I I believe you know he earned his way here but uh it was definitely the path of least resistance with who he was fighting and like I said we're at 145 he just lost to CR Rod who's a 135 great fighter I I I think CR Rod's awesome but you're talking about how CR rods fighting little like fighting little boys and his cardio and how wait till like a you know a man gets a hold of him but let's be honest saight could have been stopped two times in the last round you know you got manhandled by a 35 what do you think I'm going to do to you so that that's the mindset that I go into there and what I know is going to happen yeah that's awesome and I agree I think a lot of people were surprised actually during that fight when they faced off that that CR Rod was like bigger than dgan and a lot of people you know were saying oh CU coming into that fight B Garen again had a lot of hype and C Rod stole a lot from that and you have the same opportunity here because clearly you know the hype still that strong he's a minus 2,000 which is a crazy line for me dude and plus 1000 it's that's such a difference man but you know what dude I'm cool you know people want to um support him like that and blow his name up and blow his head up and they want to blow the odds up like that it's all more for me when I smash this guy I'll take it all 100% like some guys will break mentally they'll see the odds perfect example you watch contend Series last night yeah it's crazy two huge Underdog three two three four three or four of them and they were just as big underdogs as me and one of them gets starched in 12 sec 22 seconds something like that the other one gets starched um whoever's making these odds they're not doing a good job but uh but mentally none of that bothers me man you can support him all you want uh all these little dorks that jump in my DM saying he's gonna kill me keep it going just make sure to you know message me I'm sorry I'm stupid when I kill him and uh yeah man I'm just just here to enjoy it like I said I'm a fighter first I just happen to be a fighter who was blessed by God with athletic ability so the hard part for me is truly over once we're in there we start going I smile in my fights I enjoy it uh but the stuff I enjoy the fight the pain the shots he doesn't enjoy it he's not a fighter he's an athlete he's a college wrestler he's not a fighter yeah and I think we're going to see that Saturday you know so so obviously talking about you know how how you love fighting but how about the sport itself are you a big fan of the UFC like Saturday when you have the time are are you sitting down watch that's so who are some of your favorite fighters to watch oh my god um before he retired cowboy Cerrone was one of my absolute favorites he was one of my favorites growing up my first favorites but I love watching like that style Dustin por Charles ala guys that are willing to go into the flame and just fight not banging away like you know you know like a bunch of muscle heads they have incredible skill they have incredible technique but what they understand at the beginning of the day is this is a fight and this is the entertainment business I don't care how good you are if you can win I mean the UFC just released a guy maybe it was for other issues but who knows an undefeated guy if you're not entertaining it's just I don't want to watch it at all it's ridiculous but if you're coming out there like Charles ala Dustin por guys like that love it I catch the fights as much as I can it has to be a pretty bad card for me not to catch it but no I love watching fighting bro um even local shows LFA um combat zone Tough Enough bare knuckle if there's fights I'm gonna watch it yeah that's awesome you know I'm the same way every Saturday post it up in front of the TV love it dude I I know um I seen a little bit on your Instagram you were skater so what was the the skate life like what's the difference you know a lot of contact still in that you know taking some gnarly Falls I'm sure so yeah dude it it was cool man me and my friends we grew up and we started skating and we got pretty good at it you know we never made names for ourselves but like we were a lot better than the average skater we were Street skaters so skating stairs rails everything um it was just fun man it was cool hanging out with your friends but the same thing is just like fighting if you're not willing to fall down and fail like a 100 times you're not going to learn something new so the dedication in both is uh something that links those two together uh it's not just like hey you can learn this without getting hurt or being injured or falling uh if you want to do this you're going to make a ton of mistakes and you have to realize that that's okay and keep going forward then you got to deal with the pain as you go but I haven't touched a board in a couple years man I'm too afraid hurt myself there to now yeah y definitely and then real quick just in personal life I second kid coming on the way right so that must be pretty exciting right congrats ABS thank you so much it's exciting yeah I got a three-year-old son bod and then I have a daughter on the way we're nameing her NAA and I'm super excited I think my wife is six to seven weeks due and um you know it's extra I don't want to say the word pressure but it's extra like push motivation motivation I have a wife take care of I have kids to take care of um and when I had a kid and now having another kid my mind has slowly transferred from like hey I love the fight like you know what I mean like if you want to beat me you got to beat me to now I'm like you need to put me to sleep you need to give the ref a reason to pull you off of me or I won't stop because I'm not just fighting for myself and for the love of fighting no more I I have bills pay I have miles to feed so uh you know if it's just I can't I I can't be stopped unless you put me out or you give the refer reason to stop the fight and uh I'm gonna make it one hell of a [ __ ] time to do that yeah let's get that 50k bonus you know dude all day bro one of the biggest differences in like UFC betting bro um it's crazy but like like you said it's um it's going to give me the opportunity to steal all that height from him you know people are still riding his cailes for some reason even after the CR Rod fight but I will give him that official check mark from the fraud check um I'm going to derail that hype train and put him away yes sir and um we can wrap this up pretty soon I know you know it's probably tough for you with the weight cut everything but I really appreciate coming on when you get that win Saturday I'm thinking we uh make a OG drive through video for your celebration you go Heckle some people in a Drive-Thru oh my God be so fny dude I got some uh I got some messages to return because some people like they message you randos and they hit you with some roughs off but some dudes are foul yeah you know a lot of people like to talk behind the screens you know so put them on blast we'll make sure yeah dude and half of these guys the only fight they ever been in is get off the couch like or they're fighting diabetes That's it man but yeah I got a few messages to send back after like hey that that that didn't work out the way it did did it you know so all right thank you so much Brendan I I really appreciate coming on man good luck this Saturday you're going to go out there it's going to be a great fight you're going to kill it I'm I'm super excited you know um check out everything we got going on in the channel you know full card breakdowns and predictions coming out and then Friday we're going live for breing stream um thanks again just real quick anything you want to shout out before before you go yeah man just friends family coaches training partners and uh Above All Else our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Christ our Heavenly Father God without them I tell you I would not be where I am or what I'm doing um people can laugh or scof at that but to me it's my everything um so first and foremost I got to give a shout out to them and uh God bless my man thanks for having me on I appreciate it and I'm just excited to put on the show for you guys that's what I'm here for to put on violent fights and put on shows yeah man thanks this was awesome and I'm sure you're going to deliver Saturday you're a great guy with a great message and a great inspiration to your kids and family so thanks for coming on um I'm just hype everyone tune in Saturday absolutely God bless my man thanks for having me
