Introduction p i Le from the front gu lock it it's our core Foundation man git I'm fired up I'm fired the up noise it's bumping right now it's got my juice pumping [Music] boy welcome everybody to crunchtime sports with Jeff Boer Lucas and gentry it is Monday August 5th and we are back and so are Alliance joint practice joint practice today with the New York Giants we'll break that down a lot of stuff came from that big big big show we're gonna have Cory Woods on Detroit Lions beat reporter for mlive.com he's going to come on talk some lions with us in the first hour most of the show actually all of the show will be about training camp what's been going on today and the joint practices uh we were out Friday we're back it's good to be back with you fellas um how we how we feeling tonight feel good I it's it's if we're being honest boys it's game week for the Detroit Lions we've got a game Thursday so it's it's like it's go time here the the the camp today with the Giants like the fights and everything it's like football is I feel like we say it every week like every Monday we come back into the week like football's back it's back this week like we have football in three days with the Detroit Lions at 800m on Thursday night I'm pumped for it I can't wait lot to talk about today this this is probably one of the best weeks of just training camp in the offseason period The Joint practices because you get the first taste of what these players are doing against other teams ones and twos so seeing how the Lions performed today was it was exciting to see and I can't wait to break it down with the fellas had a good weekend with you guys and now we just get carried on into this week with some Lions football I mean today Breaking down Lions vs. Giants joint practice! today was feisty for the Lions I mean you had videos like this come out of uh you know Aman Ross St Brown catching a pass and you know some things are exchanged you know fellas are getting physical it's just it's what happens it's joint practice it's you're inching closer to the season you get into that killer be killed mindset and you know bunch of pushing I think I saw pan Su trying to throw guys around you know he was he was in there a couple guys jumping on top of him like trying to trying to bring him down you're not gonna fight pan Su anyone in the NFL he's not easy to move I mean he's and then Dan Skipper came over and everyone kind of quieted down when they sell 610 Dan Skipper come by uh there was multiple fights I think there was one on the uh it was the Giants offense Lions defense Daniel Jones was involved uh this isn't anything this is great that's what I love football's here physicality is here and this is what's going to happen you know training camp is one thing you're facing your teammates you're trying to get better iron sharpens iron but then you go to you know New York you go play the Giants in a joint practice who you play this week preseason uh none of the starters will play but still boys that's that hey that competitive nature that's that culture that Dan Campbell he started I I think there was like I it sounded like I can't remember who reported there was like eight fights today at practice and it was just like yeah there the Spirit of Detroit podcast but there was eight fights today and there was just a bunch of different ones someone um oh who was it Nolan biani he was on the heavyweights and he mentioned that Levi o and Kavon tiido they're both defensive players but somehow someway there was a drill or some sort of seven out seven or 11 out 11 where all the teams were together and Levi o and Kavon Tibido were going like were one of the scuffles and people going at it so like hey things are chippy guys are ready to go I don't honestly guys like I like the fight I Know Dan like last year was like hey no one fight like we're not I think Dan even like to an extent obviously you don't want guys like punching and breaking hands and like getting like super physical and hurting each other but like hey let's get some brawls going not not big braws but let's get some things going here let's get some scuffles finally it's like man on man we're One V one it sounded like the Giants might have gotten the best of the lines today at some points of the camp I don't know how real that is or like there's like coinciding reports on this where some Lions people are saying it was more even than it it's been reported and some Giants people are and you would think Giants reporters and people would overreact to some of these things and plays um being them but I just say hey it's I'm ready to go I'm ready to see tomorrow how the Lions bounce back because even if it was a bad day or even if it wasn't you know Dan Campbell's gonna like take these guys wherever they're at hotel tonight sit down and say all right boys this is what we need to fix and we're going to tomorrow we're g to dominate like and I'm pumped like so many things we have so much to talk about about today because I don't know boys I'm pumped I'm shaking over here I'm genuinely sh especially with the Giants like Brian da and Dan Campbell they know they have that that connection there but obviously like they're not just going to go in they be like hey we're gonna have a good time like no they're gonna go in there and Brian dble even though the Giants are obviously the worst team he's gonna want to try to beat Dan Campbell in every way that they can and the Giants it's happy to see that they have some fight in them it's cute probably the fights are probably the only W's that they're going to get throughout this season but with Amon R st Brown I know people were talking about how he gets paid so he's acting like a diva it's like no it was after the play The Dude poked the ball out and if you're Aman ra St Brown you're just not going to get punked like you're not just going to let somebody come over and do that to you especially I don't even know who it was for the Giants is number 24 but nobody that I knew who it was it's just like people that are overacting about Aman raah I I I think everything that happened in that video like it's just football yeah it's a bunch of nothing I mean that's what they and you have the Giants who everyone's saying they're going to be bad so they're trying to prove themselves and you have the Lions people are saying some people are saying they can't do what they did last year uh so you got two teams that are coming in with a certain mindset and you know it's like the first ounce of any competitive football before preseason before the season like of course there's going to be tension of course there's gonna be fights like this I have no problem with this at all I mean no one got no one got injured no one got hurt it is what it is I mean I do think it's a it's a good thing that like finally we've had all these reports in like about Detroit Lions Camp and you're you're you're just going up against each other for three straight weeks or two straight weeks whatever it is so like the secondary the defensive line like all these team like oh they're they're playing so well they're doing so well there're do so well and then it's all right now you could actually see them verse another NFL team and another roster and other other players and the the best thing that that comes out of it too is like these guys who are looking to earn a spot on this on the Lions team there's also guys on the Giants looking to earn a spot so you have just guys out there who are looking are fighting for jobs who are fighting for more money who are fighting for positions not maybe not jobs but they're fighting for you know depth chart positions and different things so like finally you get to go up against someone else's Dan said it in the press conference this morning he was like we're looking at this like as a game today and tomorrow and Thursday like we're looking at like these roster cuts and like what how do these guys go up against uh you know the the New York Giants and how does it how do these guys play out so these guys are like there's a little bit of a a chip on some of these guys shoulders like hey I need to go out here and prove something to everyone and I think that's what you see and that's why tensions are so high maybe tomorrow a little more settle down but it hey people that are like don't F it's football I I used to have practice in high school there if someone from my high school is watching this we used the people used to go at all the time and just practice and we were teammates it was just things are going to get heated and Chippy and especially when you go up against the New York Giants or or Terri a terrible organization right now they're going to try and prove something as well I just think it's exciting though I mean it seemed like an offensive sided practice I mean the offense for the Lions you saw jaml making some plays and I'll play a clip here in a second uh he he had a day so we'll talk about him as well not just doing what he's done in training camp but now and join practice against another secondary a different look uh he he couldn't be guarded for the most part especially in the Red Zone I he's making plays out there and and kind of the same thing for the Giants I mean Malik neighbors yep he he put in work today I mean there was one where it was ruled out of balance but it was still an amazing grab over iffy um and and there was other guys I mean Slayton got open it looked like Zone coverage but he still got open I mean they were pretty much getting anything they wanted I saw reports at the defensive line you know they didn't look as good as they've had they have looked but this is the point of a joint practice like you want this stuff to get out now like you you want to look Mir now rather than week one you know get surprised at home by the Rams and now we're all Shak what's going on with this team you want the joint practice you want to you know Iron these things out right now in August in early August so I'm not even going to overreact too much to the reports about the defensive line uh even though it is something we talked about the other side of Hutch which I saw DAV Port had had a pressure I I didn't see it all today but he was out there um in the secondary I'm not gonna overreact yet so a lot of things they got to do but that's it's good you want to walk away with like hey we got to work on X Y and Z let's get better we we'll come back to this you know I'm not gonna freak out that the Giants like won the day I'm sure freaking out like yes we won the day and join practice and then the lions lions fans and lions media Lions players should be like all right hey we'll get better still a championship team J aren't and uh we gotta prove that tomorrow you know when we go back at it yeah it I think it's one of those things too like preseason games years past like you look at like the preseason games like if you win or lose them doesn't really matter it's about finding the guys that you need to make the team and it's about figuring out your offense your defense figuring out how to win football games when it comes to the regular season and and figure just kind of get the whole mold together I think that's what like a day like today is or tomorrow or when you know the next the next joint practice is you look at it and you go all right we need to we're going up against against a different competition all right we need to figure out what we need to fix like the defensive line they were so good for weeks all of a sudden okay we're up against someone else all right now we know adjustments we need to make and who who's actually about it and who's not um and same with the you know the DBS we the DBS were getting hyped up in today sounded like it was complete opposite of what's been going on for the last two or three weeks so like you know like I think like today's are days where who cares who won and who lost today it's about who comes out of it like all right we know what we need to learn and get better at I I do think it's another Point too I didn't I didn't really think about this until a couple hours ago but like the offensive line it's the number one offensive line in the NFL at some point you know they need to get kind of a feel for it as well and get back into things especially with someone like Taylor Decker a little older Frank ragnell think about the defense of line that they're going up against Brian Burns Kavon thibo Dexter Lawrence like they they they're going up against absolute dogs today and tomorrow and then Thursday like I guess just today and tomorrow that's something to where like Kevin zitler goes down with an injury today it's it's just interesting like all right these guys are going to be at full force like this offensive line is going right away versus one of the best defensive lines probably in the NFL and they're going to be like sharp iron sharp and iron all day today and tomorrow I thought that was interesting I just I was reading that I was like oh yeah that's a good point no I mean it's just you'd rather see all these things that can get exposed like you guys said tweaked up especially in the preseason like just get all these things addressed so week one Monday Night Football or what is Sunday Night Football you don't have to worry about a damn thing as far as what are you going to see in this look what are you going to see in this look you're going to find out who's best in what position and then you start him week one you move on from there but that's what this is all about right now did you see Andrew Thomas uh he he he took it to Teran Arnold on one play just him in in motion just I mean that's a scary sight and I think terion left with the concussion so I mean it is what it is um you know hey he took the hit though he took it he did he didn't he kept walking I mean I don't know if it was from that hit specifically I would assume I didn't see the actual play but you mentioned Kevin zitler left early with an injury but overall like I said you had J Mo uh like I mentioned earlier making plays I mean you got this man out here cooking even and this to me is important because J Mo's been doing some work this training camp but here he is making plays enjoying practice against the Giants so it's it's big time for J Mo I mean it's especially at two TDS today uh I know the defense the Lions defense didn't look great but hey both offenses were going and you got to think too enjoying practice you're not really doing much schematically like you're just kind of running basic you know you're not giving out anything in in defensively or offensively um but the J make some plays I mean hey that's one should be the bigger storyline coming out of Camp not people overreacting to the defensive line and the second lived up to it in a joint practice so far yeah and you don't really want to like see all the hype coming from the same players like at the end of the day you know what you're going to get out of Aman Ross Brown panu Aiden Hutchinson Brian Branch like you know what you're G to get out of those guys if guys like J are having the days like they did today with two touchdowns that's when like okay this is what this team needs to take another step I don't think you're going to get huge hype if I'm goes out there and catches two touchdowns like yeah that's what amra is going to do you see Jameson Williams doing it now that's what's really important for this offense I mean here's the here's the clip of both um but you see here the the first TD we just showed uh him making some plays wide open too and then here's the second one just boom wide open again I mean he had he had multiple feet point at Point at the end I don't know if you guys saw that the point at the end of this touchdown is just so disrespectful and just like Jameson Williams is Jam Willams again like him pointing back at the defender like dude you're look how slow you are I just say it is good to hear Jameson Williams is is back I think we're at a point now to where he's put together weeks weeks together to where you're like it's gonna be a j season like J We're very comfortable and I know that was a question at least I don't want to say I question it a ton but there like all right what if like he does have to step up and I think he's proven like he's going to be able to step up and down the stretch last year jamell stepped up so like I don't think there's any worry about that I do think guys like to your guys' point I do think it's okay not to overreact to the negatives but it's like let's look at some of the negatives and what the Lions need to work on fix going into the season because the positives we can always look at the positives oh J Mo's doing well uh jir Gibbs like Brian Branch all these different things I I think it's like the lions are at a point now and I think the chat can agree with me people can agree with me I'm probably one of the I get called the biggest Slappy on the I I drink the Kool-Aid I think the lions are at a point to where you're a Super Bowl Contender now it's like all right what are the it's the same thing in Kansas City and New England when they were good and and in the San Francisco 49ers and the Ravens is these teams know that they have great players they know how good this football team is now it's time for us to start looking in training camp and all these different things okay what do what do what does Dan Campbell need to work on what does Brad Holmes or not Brad Holmes um Ben Johnson what does he need to work on with his offense what are the the holes in his offense the defensive line like these are things that I think is like the most important because if you patch those things up you will be unstoppable in the offense in the season yeah Unstoppable and I think they're like a couple pieces away from being the best team in football and I don't think that's an over exaggeration at all I think it's like the defensive line and what that happens with this wide receiver battle so I'm those are the things that for me I'm like absolutely glued in on today and tomorrow and today the reports of the defensive line was a little like and and then obviously the secondary too because the secondary's been the big big talk like did they finally fix the secondary and the first day up against someone else the reports s hey they did they did struggle a little bit that's a little bit of like okay what are we doing here I know I don't think Brian Branch was a full go but still that is a little bit of a question I just think a lot of it too and I I it's easier especially with wide receivers this secondary is going to take time to jail even in like joint practices probably the most raw they're ever going to be as far as chemistry together so I'm I get what you're saying like question marks you want to see the secondary go out there and just shut down the New York Giants wide receiver core because outside of Malik neighbors it's not much but I'm I'm not too much and I'm sure you're not either Boer but it's day one of actually lining up against another team's ones and yes the Lions do have talent but they got to figure out a way to make it all work together as a unit and I think that's all that's taking place right now yeah you spend all of training camp matching up with the same players so you're comfortable you get comfortable with with you know you know like defensive players know offensive players they know what guys are good at what they're not good at what they like to do what they don't like to do and then you just get thrown into another environment against the Giants and you don't I mean you you know some of these players but it's not that comfortability and you travel so it is kind of a little bit of a shock I'm not going to overreact to it there's nothing really to overreact to I know Xavier D shout out to him in the chat he put you can't even touch the quarterback which I get that but you still look at pressures I mean you see this clip earlier doc posted shot it to to the John mackar he's out there of Davenport getting a pressure I mean look at the big fell it lose hey hey look at the big had hey had his hand up like if this was a real game situation really far off the ground there you would know like instead of running cutting him off on the side like he probably would have just straight lined and just went to destroy that man but you can't really do that in joint practice so it's hard to judge everything um so not gonna overreact I get why that the secondary still a concern in people's head but you nailed at Lucas the new names too I mean you have two new corners you have a new slot Corner yeah you have the same safeties but at corner they're new I mean Carlton Davis Teran arold and and and they had a couple guys playing that saw Emanuel Mosley out there in the slot at times he was out there too playing so it's a lot of new faces just so people know too like Brian BR I'm pretty sure Brian Branch didn't playing 11 on 11 like when they were going live I I'm pretty sure he was out today um him and Sam lorta so you like you have iffy and Kirby back there which ify did play with him last year but like branch is gonna end up being your fa you're starting safety so like there's those things and they're still you do have to think like they're still working with terion Arnold rookie quarterback who's gonna it's gonna take a little bit as much as we think he's an absolute dog which he is it's gonna take terion Arnold a little bit it like as a corner in the NFL it's probably one of the toughest positions as you I'm I'm sure You' say clsy and like if you're a rookie even going from the SEC to the NFL all right there's a little bit of an adjustment um and it's the same thing like with nickel like you have you're working through multiple guys to try and figure out who's going to kind of be in that spot so like this this secondary is kind all right the secondary is learning a little bit together but I'm going to say this like as much as like there's been the conversations that this second is going to be extremely good I still think it's like hey we have to like be in a game and see this at first like we can't just keep like and I I'm someone who does it all the time just keep saying oh this secondary is going to be great it's going to be great a top five secondary top 10 secondary no like we've had these conversations about lions position groups before we have to be able to see Carlton Davis Teran Arnold amek Robertson Brian branch and Kirby Joseph we have to see them do it on the field week one or week two and see what they're actually like to get together because you just going to be in these practices you're not going to really figure it out until week one so that's why for me I am going to keep an eye on this secondary I think that's like the biggest I say it all the time that Super Bowl runs through the defense that's the bit maker break of this year's Super Bowl does this secondary put it together and we can't really say until we actually see it to be honest I think that's fair uh this comment too uh I guess it's worth a combo Broski bear Zyer and reader very questionable signings both aren't getting any younger and both keep getting injured I see a pattern uh and I will I will say this reader coming off an injury Zyer left injured but they're very both very very good players you have to assume that Brad thinks about this stuff like that's why you have so much depth everywhere I mean defensive line depth that's why you're trying to get Levi on Zer ready seeing what he can do and other guys other defensive tackles they have same with Zer I mean they have guards like Colby or uh I mean they still drafted mahogany but still other guys that they're getting ready so I get that they're older players but guys get injured all the time in the NFL man I mean that's what comes with it it's football mean guys are going to go down you have to have depth and I think the Lions have done a good job of of getting depth so far yeah and I mean if you resign Jonah Jackson look at him right now he's already hurt looks like six weeks out from right now Kevin zeitler yes he's old but he's been playing at a high level and he even played at a high level last year in Baltimore I know he didn't get resigned there but Brad Holmes went took a waiver on him for what was it $6 million $8 million whatever it is it's not that much money but you're getting a great bargain piece with it especially when you could be looking at possibly Kobe sores doll or signing a Robert hunt to100 million which makes absolutely no sense so you can use the same thing there so it just doesn't make sense to me when it comes he missed four games he's missed four games over the last four years yeah that that's my ziter Kevin zler that's that was gonna be my point was was in the comment whoever it was shout out for appreciate you tuning in like keeps getting injured zitler isn't a guy that gets injured that was one thing when he got signed that was a positive of his is he's a pro bowler who's been a pro bowler in his career and he's a guy that typically stays healthy like he doesn't go through a lot of injuries like just a couple days ago he was asked by the media how do you how do you stay so healthy for so long and like he has his routine and he kind of knows like what he needs to do to stay healthy in the NFL he's been in the NFL so long so I don't think it's that DJ reer on the other hand I think he has been through more injuries he seems like a guy though that always like when when the time comes like he's going to be there and he's going to be healthy like there's nothing like maybe last year there was a the hamstring but I do have a little faith that like when the time comes come week one week two week three like seasons on the line down the stretch he will be there to go zeitler as well I'm not worried about like if there's an injury unless it's a major one KN on wood I think he's gonna be fine for week one if it's just something DJ readers for December that's that's why you sign guys like DJ reer because that's when you need them you can we can use the Josh Pascal maai Wingo Leon R bodrick Martin you can run that cycle before if you don't have DJ reader healthy but more than likely they're not going to be overplaying DJ reader that you know that when you sign yeah this is something to the lions like last year like let's be honest like getting into the the injury conversation like last year there there was always an offensive lineman that was injured and you had the Graham Glasgow depth like you you did that and like you always had running backs were going down secondary everyone was going down and like they still went out and won 12 games went to an NFC Championship game and they just took another offseason to even get more depth and kind of address more depth pieces like the injury situation unless it gets super super bad and some of those big time players go down I'm not going to I'm not gonna stress out yeah I saw th this com because we talked about it with u DJ reader that the depth behind them they've been kind of building and they have players guys that you know aren't DJ reader but still can fill a role uh and I see Mike says ziter will be okay but our death behind him is really limited to kobby and he is he is right but offensive line depth is the hardest position to have depth at in the NFL I mean besides quarterback obviously because besides your starter you're pretty much screwed uh but with offensive line depth it's not easy I mean you lose your left tackle right T whatever or your center it's you're even if you do have someone that you kind of trust it's still a significant downgrade so it's I like just because you Kobe I think can just be solid you know and that's that's just the reality am I more comfortable with with who they have behind DJ reader absolutely but offensive line that's not I don't name me a that has a ton of depth at offensive line like there's not one single team no I Promise You by the way just Justin Rogers reported too uh today 's he said interesting note when zitler went out it was Michael nice uh getting the bump to fill the void with the first team offense uh Yodi I was seea was was back up or he was back after a couple practice absence he said so they didn't want to put him in but Michael I believe it's n is how you pronounce it he was the one that stepped in so it wasn't even like Colby or yeah it wasn't Colby which is interesting yeah we even saw that when we went to Joint practice Bo because I was like who is that we thought it was going to be Colby there and he was running with the ones as well when because all the vets were out that day too it's interesting thought so there there might be a little bit more depth than people think um let's uh we got about five minutes though Cory joins I I wanted to talk about what McAfee said today we'll save that till after Cory so stick around we'll break down pat MC's comments him kind of gassing up Dan Campbell a little bit uh after after kind of always making fun of him at the same time and then now he's kind of gassing him up and then there was Dan Campbell on the show and then they called him mcdc and you know Motor City Dam Campbell and you know everything was love so I we'll we'll break that down at a later time um Corey Woods from M live will be joining the show in a little bit here so he he's not in New York but he's been at Camp every single day the last couple of weeks yeah when we there I do think he has a couple PE like colleagues from M live that were there too I I could be wrong I saw I think it's Kyle maniki who's also M live I yeah my so he he was there as well I saw actually so I'm pumped to hear what Cory has to say we haven't talked to him in a little bit since like a couple weeks from training camp so he's probably got a lot of information for us um to kind of go over yeah and Tyler even says I just worry about Frank going down uh yeah that's my if you're besides obviously your left tackle uh Frank is the most important player I think on that offensive line so especially with depth I think we can all agree there because you don't have and then you start pulling from go just like you're losing a center end a guard at that point because you got to move Glasgow over yeah he's going have to play center this is interesting too and and people haven't really been talking about it as much but the mahogany situation he still hasn't I don't I I don't believe he's reported to Camp yet and the day we went uh Dan actually spoke about it and and mentioned that he's been super sick and obviously like if it's a sickness to keep him out of training camp has to be a pretty bad one um and he's been doing like virtual meetings and different things so he's been staying caught up but like not being at training camp especially as a rookie for like weeks tough yeah that's tough and like I thought like at least for me I thought I looked at Christian mahogany he I thought he was going to be when we did a lot of mock drafts third fourth round draft pick and he hands up fall in the sixth round with the Detroit Lions so you think he gets a steal and he just hasn't been at training camp so hopefully he gets better like prayers to him like I don't know what's going on but hopefully it's not too serious but it that that was just where it was like I felt like at least for me my expectation for him was to be up that that six man potentially with Colby like him to kind of get into that role because the conversation was that he was ready to go instantly in the NFL and now he hasn't been at camp and I thought next year like say you lose zeitler and you don't resign him that he was potentially a replacement but he just hasn't been at camp like that's an interesting thing I don't know what it is um I know people is it is it a physical illness maybe mentally he's not he's not right right now I I don't know and I I don't obviously know him and people aren't reporting it so if he's in if he's in Virtual meetings cool uh that's good at least he's engaged but I mean you have to be there for especially for him I mean he hasn't even gotten a taste of what it's like put pads on and go against NFL pros so a six round pick like and I'm like not even trying to be like that guy but there's a very real shot that like not every six round pick makes a roster every year like those are guys that are definitely on Cut watch yeah no doubt uh well let's let's uh welcome in our our good friend Cory Woods here from M live uh he joins the program very very good guest he breaks down Detroit Lions football and a little bit of Detroit Pistons but you know what let's let's keep the conversation positive let's welcome in our good friend Cory to the Kory Woods joins the show! show please welcome M lives own Corey Woods Corey let me get you on here Corey how you doing my man oh hold up H you're muted Cory hey see that's the dad status you know he's got you know it's the dad status he's good now he's good now go am I good now there you [ __ ] what's going on man sorry about that hey how you doing good uh we were just talking earlier about uh just training camp and what's been going I know you're not there but I want your thoughts on just a couple of story lines that that have been going on for training camp um because it's been pretty much the same stuff I mean you have Jameson Williams playing well in New York and making some plays so I guess we'll start with him um what has been your uh takeaways from Jameson Williams and I asked John question too because you were there and you've been watching him since he got to Detroit what has been some of the more things that you've seen him improve on what what are things that have shocked you about J Mo that maybe he's developed or what has been different from past years to this year with with Jameson Williams I love to hear your opinion on that well first off I'm gonna start with his physique Jameson Williams and this I'm actually can't believe I'm about to say this but dare I say Jameson Williams looks faster than he did last year I mean it's kind of wild to say you know at first when they had on their pajamas do they like as they like to call their Jordan Campbell says they're playing in their underwear you couldn't really get a good feel of how if he really improved his speed or not because I mean they didn't have one full pass but I mean when they got in the full pass the guy just he's just blazing speed um one thing another thing that you can see about him is that he's look like he's put on a little bit of weight I'm not gonna I guess if I if I had to guess maybe about 10 somewhere 10 to 15 pounds I could be wrong but he definitely looks a lot bigger and more um in better shape than he did last year and let's go to his mentality J Mo was kind of like a little bit of a quiet guy that I observed last year on the sidelines I mean you start you start to see his personality open up a little bit more always a guy that was chearing for his teammates but this year this Camp he is very animated um anytime his teammates make a great play he is always out there first one on the field running running up to him and you know showing in their props and respect he's been so he's been a great teammate guy at least from my opin as far as um this how he performs after a play I mean this guy has been been smoking some of the secondary pretty pretty badly and he's been getting into it with ag a couple of times they they've been it's I don't think it's anything bad I don't think it's anything bad but you know kind of see them barking you see them barking in each other during during practice and then the the one time that really got intense was where you know Scotty mcgomery joined it on us I guess as one of the guys beat writer said Scott uh AG found his new do sty because you know those guys used to go back and forth but um J Mo's been good I I I think I'm impressed with what I've seen he looks like he's ready to go ahead and step up and take that number one uh wide or number two wide out position because you know I'm a ride number one and the timing between him and golf it looked like you still a little bit of a it looked like it's getting better I won't say it's 100% there yet but it definitely looks better than it did last CH Camp I love to hear that Cory I I love the J the confidence and everything that's kind of coming off of him is love seeing that um I do want to stick in the wide receiver room I think everyone at least for me and I asked oh no can you guys see me you're good Bo just keep going all right I lost before second um but obviously we're all talking about the wide receiver kind of for B I know it's just it's Alan R st Brown Jameson Williams and then khif Raymond but there's this battle right now with with Fountain uh dpj Antoine green and then today Dan Campbell mentioned Kaden Davis as well what what's your thoughts on that we've been pretty big at least I have um on Fountain kind of stepping up and and when we went to training camp for a couple days he just look so consistent and so reliable and it seems like him and Jared gof are kind of getting that Josh Reynolds connection to where he trusts him a ton and you could kind of get that feeling do you kind of see him getting that spot or where do you see that going with the now the dpj and Antoine green thing um kind of backing them up well no disrespect to khif Raymond I know we all saw that unofficial uh death chart that came out but I I actually think um Fountain could actually step up and challenge for that wide receiver three spot as well I mean don't leave him out the mix for that one because I mean he's been having a phenomenal Camp so far and um he's been his route running the the way he just goes after and just makes a play that has been really on display this entire camp and that and um also dpj too he's been looking pretty good as well in one-on-one drills and and in the offense but again just likey this guys just said Fon is the guy that I think not not just for that wide receiver for row he could challenge for that for that wr3 road as well and just like Dan Campbell said last week they want to see more out of it I mean this that Josh reyolds um departure is really left the void in it's a three- man race right now for who can step up I mean it could really be any one of those guys to be quite honest so just kind of going off of that real quick Cory is do you think fountain's pretty much a lock to make this [Music] roster o i I think it I think we'll see how he does over these over these preseason games because I mean it's one thing to look good in practice but if he's not showing that out there on the game versus the Giants and then the Chiefs and whatnot then I mean I wouldn't expect it but if you just have to go off of that small sample size and that shows up in the game yeah I think he would definitely be a solid lock to make this team absolutely because like you because again they already trust the three guys that you can say jarro golf trust are um well let's just say two for right now as far as the receivers go um St Brown and Raymond he's developing the chemistry with Williams and we know he's not going anywhere so it's really those other guys you know what I'm saying that are trying to like make their way and I definitely think that Fountain is starting to creep up in that position of making a name for himself I think there were a lot of people that were high on Antoine green going into this camp and I think Fountain is the one that's really kind of taken the leap that me and were expecting green to make okay interesting yeah I'm excited to see that play out another position I think a lot of lions fans have about is that nickel spot I know Brian Branch hasn't been healthy heading into Camp especially with the 11 on 11s today he was out there for the seven on sevens but from what you've seen so far I know they even put Emanuel Mosley in there at times what do you think's gonna happen there from just what you've seen so so far in Camp I think as of right now if they're if they're it depends on how they're planning to go with Branch if they're planning to bring him around you know try him out there a little bit slowly I can see them trying to figure out what they got with Emanual mosle but I mean if Brian branch is healthy I mean you got to think that he has lock on on that spot especially if he if he gets back to the way he that he was looking especially when he came out the gate early last season so I think right now it's still Branch a spot to lose but it just depends on how they want to trot him along um when they get out there yeah Cory I mean another kind of big storyline at least today coming from uh and this comes from training camp it's not specifically like a joint practice question but the secondary and people talking about how the secondary is you know they they struggle a little bit today the defensive line where are you at with what you've seen being at at Allen Park with just this defense I mean guys like Levi on zarque kind of showing out and showing more and more what what's your confidence level that this defense uh and they don't have to be the best defense in the league but for based on what you've seen so far with those with the offense versus the defense where you at with this defense and specifically that secondary we know how good the run defense is in the pass rush you know with DJ reer coming back should be upgraded obviously but where are you at with how good the defense can be and specifically that secondary based on last year because they got new faces this year at corner so far the secondary has looked good out there um I haven't really seen too many picks to be quite honest because I mean jarro G has been pretty clean with the ball mainly some of the picks that I've seen have come from when they when they go with when they Shuffle it out there with the other quarterbacks like Kender hooker he threw a pretty bad pick to the third team last week but and when when you're looking at that secondary you gotta think they the Lions had one of the worst secondaries in the League last year and they still made that NFC title game and they went ahead and overhauled it with guys like Carlton Davis um you grabbed you grabbed tyon Arnold and red straw guys that have so far been having um decent solid camps and then you bring you still got Emanuel mosy bringing him back and then if he's and if he's just healthy and he's been playing out he's been playing some solid solid football out there especially you know just you know getting out there and getting in the back field and this he tore I forget who it was I want to say it was David Montgomery I could be wrong he tore one of them running backs up the last week pretty badly um oh they got a they got a tough schedule I think they could possibly get back to you know the playoffs for sure but where this secondary is at I think Lions fans are going to be feel very good about it because the coverage is out there the attention to detail is out there Aaron Glenn is on is is on them guys and they're looking pretty good in coverage on the wide receivers but again it's all gonna we're we're gonna really get a good look at where they're at on Thursday when they go ahead and play the Giants like it's get like I said they all look good right now in practice but when they get out there in front of some competition um when it matters this they we're going to really see hey Cory just to follow up on the defense the the the defensive line in that edge outside of Hutch what what have you seen and like what's your kind of prediction here with with how that rotation looks going into the uh season I know the Levi o they had him when we were there they had him at Edge um you know obviously Davenport is back now um but you have Josh Pascal like I haven't heard much about him and Matthew Betts has been dropping off a little bit what do you see that rotation looking like and is the rotation good enough to kind of take that step forward with touch obviously Hutch DJ re and Al are going to be you know on Big Time Trio there but that other that last spot there what what do you see that looking like going into the season and kind of throughout the whole year I'm gonna be quite honest I'm still kind of iffy on that one um they've been trying a little bit of different things out there I haven't seen um Derek Barnes lined up on on the opposite side of um and Hutchin some some interesting packages so I'm curious to see what they're GNA go ahead and do out there with that with that unit obviously they're going to need Marcus Davenport to be fully healthy and that's a guy that they're really banking on Josh Pascal I think this is going to be um a makeing or breaking year for him where he falls into the um into the rotation but I'm gonna be honest I'm still kind of iffy on that I think I need to see a little bit more um when I was out there at Allen Park a lot of the focus that I was having on was more so on that on the offensive side of the ball and looking at that secondary so I'm still kind of um I guess you could say null and void on my opinions on that on that defensive line but I think they definitely gonna need guys like L anque to go ahead and step up to make them to make impact on him and he's been having a solid Camp so far the the coaches are very impressed with where he is at and this is what is needed from him because they're really high on him when they when they when they took him and kind of just real quick I know you said you were paying more attention to the offensive side qu behind him and we had we had a conversation about this uh Friday or was it Thursday but Jack Campbell and I think we're not worried about Jack Campbell the regular season especially when you have him with Kelvin Shepard with his development but I think there was more anticipated noise than we've gotten so far with Jack Campbell how is he doing so far in training camp as far as his development how he looks going into year two Jack Campbell's looking good to me I mean the intensity is there he's still as foro he's been good in coverage he's been getting aggressive and getting to the um getting to the ball has been looking really good in the run defense as well so I mean I think I think Jack Campbell is having a solid Camp I I think I don't think that um I don't think not hearing anything about him as far as in the headlines is a is a bad thing because I mean that could work both ways if you're hearing if you're hearing some bad stuff about him then that's not good either I think he's having a allaround solid camp and playing some good football which is pretty much what they expected out of him yeah you know and you know I'm glad we had a conversation about it me and Boon and my thing was we were having a conversation in the car and I'm like he just haven't really heard a lot about Jack Campbell and Boer I'll give him credit he was like maybe it's a good thing I mean he's just solid Jack Campbell and I was always curious with that him like I wonder if you know maybe it's you want more because you expect like I expect him to have a big year or he's just Jack and you know what he brings like so I I get that perspective I want to ask you this um at least looking at this team currently um and and just seeing what's been transpiring in training camp because we were there you got to see um some guys making plays Andis rraw being one of those guys uh he he and he's been kind of moving up the ranks he was kind of limited to start but then he had a great at least close uh to training camp uh with with the offense versus the defense I think he's playing with the second team but still what what are your thoughts on Andis rraw and what kind of noise he can make this year because they they got him trying out at nickel you know and it could be a position change for him but the dude can play ball but what have you seen from menis R kind of coming back from that injury he's been getting after it I mean he's been playing he's been really good at coverage um pass deflections um covering and he's been really good in coverage I think that this is a guy that could really make a name for himself I don't know maybe not right out the back but I mean somewhere near somewhere if they need it's part of that rotation and if somebody goes down I mean this could be a guy that could step up and um be something real special for them and you see why he she's showing flashes as far as his confidence out there on the field of why Brad um Brad Holmes went ahead and took backto back DBS in this year's draft and I think that he's gonna be a guy that could be one of their anchors for years to come um it's like but the thing is I want to see how he does in the game but again as far as practice he's a guy that has not backed down for Mee Challenge and he looks good hey cor yeah I love to hear that the r sh stuff I love that uh Corey it's it's it's technically game week here for the first preseason game what are you kind of and at least for the listeners here what are you kind of looking for um when it comes to the matchups or or just really just players like who might be on the cut line that that you're going to keep an eye on on Thursday like hey this is a guy who needs to have a big game or he he might be out of a job here going over the next few weeks um who are some players to keep an eye on um a couple of guys I'm going to be keeping my eye on is I'm going keeping as much people talked about the wide receiver battles and these corner back battles I'm going to be looking at their running back battle obviously we know that David Montgomery and jir Gibbs have that rb1 rb2 on lock but I'm looking I'm looking to see what's gonna come out of those other guys you know the Craig Reynolds the BAM Knights I mean J Jamar um Jefferson who's who's been playing some really good football in this year's Camp I'm looking to see who's going to be the guy that can go ahead and make a name for himself and step up in there um bam Knight that is just one guy who was just like like Emanuel Mosley who was just really happy to be back at injur be on on the field so is Bam M I had a really good conversation with him and while he's looking to go ahead and make a name for himself in that role he's just happy to be back out there in the field and he says that he cannot wait for this preseason game because he said that Lions fans have truly not seen his real explosiveness yet as a as a back as a backer he said they have not seen a 200 two 215 200 pound backer get out the back field like I can and he's looking showcase that this week so that's a that's a again that's a battle if bam KN is able to step up and be as explosive as he claims to be just imagine peering him in a rotation with a um with the with the jir Gibbs and David Montgomery so I'm looking at that running back battle most definitely yeah vaky I'm going to be excited to watch and somewhere that I think the Lions can use use him as on the kick returner spot and Cory when you're down at Camp I think the kick return with how the kickoffs been changed it's a really intriguing thing to look at with who the lons are going to go with because we went to camp on Wednesday and they had J they had Aman ra they had Jamir Gibbs and I'm like please do not put those guys back there on kickoff but what do you think they're actually going to do because there is a chance that they do put out a really good player that can make a difference on kick return to set up the offense for more success so when you're when you're at Camp who do you think they're going to be putting out there at least for the preseason I would be very very shocked if they do not put Maurice Alexander out there on kick return that is a guy who's just been doing well in over the past couple years so I think that's a guy that's gonna be able to see step up and hopefully make a name for himself in this rotation as far as um just what he can do out there on the field I know I I know they have Calhoun from duke I haven't really seen him out there but you never really know if they could kind of float them out float him out there and try to see what he see what he can do um I've seen dpj back there a couple times but I think the real I think the guy that's really gonna be out there on on when we see this preseason game is going to be more ree Alexander maybe khif Raymond as well and kind of because we talked about this when we are at Camp Maurice Alexander guy even last preseason he was making plays against the Giants Taking Back kickoffs do you think what what's the likelihood that he actually makes the Detroit Lions active roster this year it depends on how many players they decide to keep at that at that wide receiver position um I I'm under the mindset that he will make he will make the team um he's just he's just proving himself to be a valuable commodity in that regard so I would be pretty shocked if he does not make the team all I've been reading Corey uh and you know it's it's the take that has not been aging well I will admit is hended hooker and I'll say this all right we I get it it's it's his first true he's participating in all in the offseason in training camp uh he has not looked good he's been playing with the third team Nate sunf felt's beating him out Cory not a storyline I like to read but I will say uh he's a guy that I think will will start coming along I think in the season during the season as the season continues I I don't think it was realistic of me to expect him to be ready to be the backup quarterback week one what have you seen from henen hooker in kind of the growth or or regression uh what have you seen from henden hooker so far um as far as hind the hooker I'm just gonna be quite honest when you look at him as far as his power his velocity with the ball it's there I mean he can sling The Rock but his accuracy has been up and down it's been it's been very inconsistent all over some overthrows some like I said he threw a bad pick um I I didn't even know where the ball was going when where he was looking at and the one thing that I've just been noticing constantly from him that he holds on to the ball too long and they're not sacking the quarterback in in practice but I believe it'll be a wakeup call if he holds on to the ball that much if we see him out there on Thursday versus the Giants so it's it's not he's not looking bad he's made some great throws but it's just been he's been largely inconsistent and yeah I if I had to say right now now I would say sudfeld is beating him mouth for that backup to to J the backup Ro to jarro G and it's basically because he just been all over the place but again give him some time let's see how he looks you know in in the game let's see how he looks over these next couple of practices but so far it it hasn't been the greatest showing for him though ah you know what it's all right we say Hey you know hey it's all good uh Court we appreciate you you can check Cory out at Corey e Woods uh covers Detroit Lions and Detroit Pistons for mli uh Corey will'll talk to you sua man appreciate you joining the show killing it as always appreciate you Corey my guy all right there you go Cory Woods check his stuff out uh because he is the man and we're gonna go through John maron's takeaways because he was there he was in New York um and Corey's been at at every every time we went TR he was there hanging out he's been it every day John has as well and he took the trip to New York to kind of uh you know go spectate the Lions joint practice and we have some notes Here uh in in the first one he wrote down was the the fights which we've already gotten into I don't want to beat a dead horse here so we'll just kind of move on from that takeway because we already discussed it by the real quick too I just want to throw out there too I saw a question in the chat while Corey was on um because I did me ask Corey the question about um you know cut lines and what guys aren't going to make it someone asked when the cuts are and then and this year at least I don't know if it was last year they changed or this year but the cuts now are August 27th they no longer do week- toe Cuts they can do week toe cuts and get guys out throughout the week but they're not required to go to a certain number each week anymore in the NFL just by August 27th they have to be go go from 90 to 53 players so just so people know that real quick I saw questions in the chat yeah yeah no it's it's actually I'm gonna be honest uh I didn't know that either but we can we can put up the takeaways here um this is John's first thing he John Maakaron's joint practice takeaways! mentioned Williams which we already discussed and Montgomery stand out uh and he he he kind of writes he writes here at the bottom uh because we know we already we talked about J Mo earlier in the show you can go back and watch Dave Montgomery had a strong day he writes weaving his way through tacklers Monday as the Lions offensive line was able to pave lanes and by the way you got to think pretty good players in that Giants defensive line by the way and they were they were they were Paving it wasn't all he writes as Brian burn still made his presence F that points throughout practice so yeah uh Dave Montgomery guys showing that he is going to be wink wink Lucas big part of this offense may maybe you know not that it's going to hinder gibbs' ability I just think numbers wise daveid Montgomery is showing people why he's you know he's that guy he's that guy pal that's all it is David Montgomery big part of this offense I just think jir Gibbs takes a step forward and naturally that takes a little bit away from David Montgomery but he's still GNA be a top 10 to top 12 running back in the NFL and these are the exact teams like you just talked about how good this front seven is like this is the exact perfect running back to have it because David Montgomery is a physical running back but like it says here between the tackles David mountgomery he's got great flexibility has great balance to be able to run through tacklers and get to that third level with the safeties and defensive backs and once that happens I mean we saw the Los Angeles Chargers game when David Montgomery gets momentum he's a hard man to tackle so he is perfect for what this team needs to do to complement Jamir Gib so I agree with you Jeff David Montgomery still gonna be a big part of this offense jir Gibbs is just going to be bigger yeah so this is I'm I'm gonna throw my side on this here too because I was a jir Gibbs I well he still hey you still love Gibbs I'm not I still think Gibbs gonna have a big year my point with the Gibbs stuff and in the DeMont thing like you heard deont like a week ago make a comment about how he does feel a little disrespected that people just completely forget about him because of jir Gibbs coming out and and kind of that whole party which it's fair enough for him because he's still a top 10 back in the NFL in my opinion so it's like if you're a top 10 and and you're at the best in your career you're basically in your Prime and you have a young guy behind you and the whole City's like oh it's jir Gibbs there is that side to be like hey don't forget there is me and that's where I think like deont and I think Ben knows this and Dan and the whole offense knows this is like Deon I don't see him and and we could we can bring this back up at the end of the season I think when you look at Demon's carries from last year to this year I think they're going to be the exact same then like the car's number I think it stays the exact same and I just think the thing with the jir Gibbs like Nolan bian the heavyweights today they asked him about jir Gibbs um and if they they've been developing developing him into the past game a little bit more um and he said even today a a lot of the there was a major not majority but a handful of times Jamir Gibbs was lined up out wide at the wide receiver position and I think he said and I could correct this is just kind of an uh I if I remember correctly I think he said the first six targets or six first passes from Jared gof today three of the three of the first six were uh Target towards jir Gibbs in the past game so like I I think deont still going to be the first guy out out on the field when it comes to first down to start the game and he's going to be the one out there taking those those big time carries to set the tone in the Run game uh as the Bell cow back and and then I think Jamir like you're gonna see a lot deont in the backfield jir lined up wide you're GNA see like a lot of different uh formations that that's going to make sure that both of those guys are getting their touches and I just think like the DeMont touches stayed the same but I think jir like with Josh Reynolds gone and you know obviously was going to get some more I just think those come from somewhere else and as you kind of get going those jir touches he's going to break off for a couple more big time yards and he's instead of having a a two- yard run he's gonna have a 12 yard run that he did his rookie year now that he's kind of in there and you're going to see him kind of take that big jump and that average that we saw last year which people thought was already good that's going to go up more on on you know rushing and receiving that's where my mind goes with it and I do think he does get more touches I just think like the DeMont stuff like let's just let's be real let's be honest with it like we can and class this is that you like we we all know jir Gibbs is one of the best in the league and he's going to take a a big step forward you're not GNA take the ball out of David Montgomery's hands either that's like saying like let's take the ball out of Sam Lor's hands to give more to to Amon ra or more to J like you're not gonna take the ball out of Sam Lor's hands this year and you're not going to Target him as much as you did last year because Jameson Williams coming on the scene you're just going to find other areas to get him the ball ways to do it you're not taken away from s pora I think that's what it's like in the running back room do do you want me to we'll go down this I just whenever we we get we start going down this rabbit hole we can I can rebuttal no make it seem like I don't want to make it seem like Boon's like making a bad point like Boon saying like a very my thing is just by default jir Gibbs is going to get more carries through the first seven weeks jir Gibbs was not getting used how they're going to use him in the future so that is probably going to get probably is definitely going to give him more carries and then Boer I agree with you Jamir Gibbs he's that running back that takes it 12 yards instead of two that doesn't automatically mean that David Montgomery is not going to get the ball but when jir Gibbs is cooking why you gonna take him off the field and I think that's going to happen more often than it did last year that doesn't mean again that David Montgomery's not gonna be out there but I do think there's absolutely goingon to be drives where it's like jir Gibbs just cannot be stopped right now keep giving jir Gibbs the ball Fe and then and then feed the hot hand and I think the hot hand is more likely going to jir Gibbs this year than David Montgomery that doesn't mean that the car swing J's Wes 100% I just think instead of like it was damn near 5050 look last year it goes to 55 45 potentially 60 40 if it's an extrem so I get I understand what you're saying like like and I'm with you on that but when you have two top 10 backs like the biggest thing and like let's just be like let's come down to like and this isn't this sounds bad let's just come down to earth though for a second and sit in Ben Johnson's seat and sit in like Dan Campbell seat you have two Elite backs last year those guys were constantly and one's injured the other's injured one's injured the other's injured they don't care and and I'm being completely honest they do not care how many carries or touches each one of those guys get it's going to be what you said CL feed the hot hand but what they're also going to look at and David Montgomery has already been on record saying this is and and and d deont and jir Gibbs probably don't care as well they're like I don't care how many times I touch the ball their main focus is keeping both of these guys on the field so they can produce at the highest level they can and make sure that they're going to the hot hand and they're making the right plays they're going to make sure that these guys are healthy all season long you're not going to go out there and I get I get it like I think it it might go 55 45 it's not going to be like a drastic like push and and change because what happens if you're just everything on jir Gibbs 60 65% of the load is on jir Gibbs and you're sitting there going let's just let him get every single touch he's hot he's hot he's hot and then he goes down week seven and you're like well we could have used deont this whole time to offset this and we could have given him a little more and take some of the that that the carry off of of jir and I think that's like more realistic in the NFL like I get what you're saying completely and I think like in college football it's like hey you have your star running back run that man so he can go get drafted and go for the Heisman but I think in the NFL you're looking at it unless like like the 49ers they have no choice they don't have a demon they just have Christian mcaffrey like the Giants never had a demon they just had saquon Barkley so like when you look at and I know there are examples of two backs that are Elite and there's one guy that gets but like I just think Ben Johnson the way they've talked in interviews and the way that like deont talked about it is I think like their whole goal this season is to stay healthy for 17 games plus the playoffs so they can go win a Super Bowl and they're gonna kind of be that that's going to be a a factor and I do think jir gets total touches I think he gets a significant amount more I just think it's going to be a lot closer than what you're kind of thinking and like I don't like 65 whatever 35 I don't think it ends up being that whatsoever 55 45 6040 on an extreme and like if there's injuries or something there like I don't I don't want it to be the jir Gibbs 100% like I do not want that for year like I want jir Gibbs playing in the Super Bowl I want him playing the NFC championship game that running backs get hurt easier than any position in the NFL besides maybe like linebackers or Corners so no I don't want that like that's not the take I'm trying to have and that's why I feel like he gets taken a lot of time I just feel like Gibbs is not especially like even as a runner I think receiving he's going to develop obviously but jir Gibbs is going to be a better running back year in and year out he's going to only get yeah that's what that's not the argument that's where I think like I'm not arguing that I've already said he's a top five guy getting more car yes I think people are just overlooking Deon a little being like oh he's gonna go from what did he have last year like 200 like 215 carries or something he's gonna go from 215 to 180 that's not gonna he's going to get 200 plus of them this year like he's going to get the same he did last year they're just going to find a way in the offense to get jir and they're going to make sure these guys are healthy and they're going to be very smart about it yeah I mean honestly Monty stays healthy he's going to get more carries within him because I think he played in 12 games maybe 13 last year I mean yeah you have I'm in Ross and brown telling jir Gibbs that if he gets a thousand rushing yards thousand receiving yards he'll buy him whatever he wants so you know they they know what kind of talent he is in the pass game so like that dude is is he's a complete weapon I'm glad they're lining him him out at receiver because that was kind of what was pitched when he was drafted and you saw it in his rookie year but there's so much there especially now without Reynolds you just need another guy in the passing game now with Antoine dpj Fountain kind of battling there to have jir just yeah you you can have those guys out on the field at the same time so I I get it there but let's uh let's kind of look at some more of what John said I mean he mentioned Dave Montgomery he mentioned the lion secondary kind of getting attacked and you know how Daniel Jones uh hit malague neighbors Darius Slayton and Jaylen hayatt for big gains and uh I saw the neighbors catch that was ruled out of bounds so you know great catch by the way hell of a play and if he if he pushed him out I'm pretty sure but still I mean he made a incredible play uh and Daniel Jones even said I think they got some good players back there they can run and do some different things they did they did a good job when you're in a situation like this a joint practice you're more focused on what you're doing as a team so you know I again I'm not gonna overact there at all did you see there he said that after review the the catch with neighbors both feet were in that that was a great catch I'm just yeah that he's I mean he's special I mean no overreaction to the secondary though but you can tell Malik neighbors is a dog you can tell that that that that was my takeaway more so how good he is rather than like oh if he's just bad like keep an eye on our secondary like I'm just going to say that like just that's a very very magnifying glass thing is like Detroit Lion secondary my eyes are on you and John writes here Patricia tra who uh is a beat reporter writer for the New York Giants at SI so John's coworker was there oberved and uh she she put here as already mentioned the energy was off the charts and I thought the Lions defense was a little chipper love the Giants offense stayed in control for the most part doing what they had to do but not backing down when challenged uh Daniel Jones went 12 for 17 excuse me in team drills and seven of eight and seven on seven so which seven on sevens those are kind of like I mean those are that's seven seven they're set up for the secondary to fail yeah Absolut like yeah for for the passing game you're just getting completions so I'm not going to overact hey shout out Carlton Davis though picked them off yeah yep interception by Carlton Davis did you see your guy Marie snris or more snris sris absolutely took out Eric gray and and and he had an incredible hit I think he ripped off do you guys think that's a bad move in in training camp joint practice that hit I saw some people com do you see what I mean Maurice Morris Norris Maurice Norris he put He got His Head his headlines in now so I mean you do that training camp coaches are going to be watching I don't think I mean if you're if you're fighting in training camp I think at that point like there yeah especially if you're trying to make a roster spot like make as much noise as you can yeah yeah and like his name's been coming up a little bit and you make a play like that and your name just shoots up quick like and and then today like his name all over social media and lion staff like people actually like are are hey this guy's serious opportunity to make the team because you're looking at like kle vors and different players in the secondary he's got he he's standing out that was a big play that that was a huge hit yeah that that's the thing I mean people are is it should he do this stuff if I'm mace Norris and I want to make a roster I'm do I'm doing exactly that yeah like you have to stand out you know and even if you have good coverage and you're doing everything you're supposed to do like yeah that's that's great but you need some plays that people are going to notice and like that's a play right there uh despite whether people agree with it or not like that man's trying to make a roster like know he don't owe Eric gray nothing R do Ren is due yeah Ren is due so I I don't I don't hate that at all I mean it's it's football I mean what are we doing here um and John also wrote about henen hooker how he played with the third team again and sudfeld was with the backups uh so that has not really changed yeah he said on one rep H hooker looked hesitant with the ball and hesitant and lost the ball when attempting to make a pass his first tra during that portion of practice resulted in a scramble that was followed by the ball slipping out when he tried to throw in the next play so can I just ask a clear question Jeff to you uh yeah when when is the time that and and this is this is this is no shot at Hen and hooker when is the time for the Detroit Lions to say panic button we need to go get a backup um I I think it's like now because I I it's clear that he's not ready now and maybe I overestimated like in his first off he should be he needs more time like I think it's unless they really feel good about Nate sudfeld I I think we would all disagree with that so unless but I I would say now Boon I would say one one of the things I hate the most is is the people who say oh you don't need a backup uh you know if your quarterback goes down you're done and I I I say this all the time and repetitive on the show I I just I'm a firm believer that like shout out to flannel I told you guys last year he did a segment about quarterbacks that have stepped in and helped teams stay in the race or win a playoff game you you need you need and if you're a Super Bowl contending team you need a competent backup like you do and I've heard too many people around the city of Detroit on on live air say like who cares about the backup you don't need one well like if your if your quarterback goes down it's over no like no this is a serious like this is to me it's like the secondary it's like the wide receiver battle the back end of that like the back end of you know the defensive line like you need to have these conversations because say Jared G gets concussed week five six you you need someone to step in and Nate sunfield's not going to go win you two games henen hooker is not even close to being ready so what do you you need something like you you need someone to come into where you can at least go one in one in those games if anything like minimum like one in one so like this is a conversation that it's like all right eventually and maybe like and I'm gonna ask the doc actually I'm gonna text him um and see when they speak with um Dan next if he can ask the question or Ben Johnson like hey are you guys going to you know look at a different backup back or the guys in the room like you feel comfortable with that because I think that's big like obviously they didn't feel comfortable last year with Nate sudfeld because they went and got um Ted Bridgewater so like if you're not comfortable with Nate sunfield last year when you're not even competing for a Super Bowl essentially going into the season you're just competing at the time it was the division you're going to compete for a Super Bowl like that should be a big flag saying hey we need to go get someone we need to go get a Taylor heiki we need to go trade for um I don't know it's just anyone who you know can come in and can give you a game or two I just think it's very very underwhelming how much people are are disregarding that that that battle well now I mean guys reading all what we're reading it's clear like Hendon he needs more time to develop I'm not like hit I'm not gonna sit here hit the panic button on him as a player but hit the panic button on their backup quarterback situation even though we all agree if you lose Jared you're for the season you're screwed but at least if you lose him for a game let's say he leaves a game early and you need someone to play and you're competing for a one seed I don't think it's fair to now seeing what hen hooker looks like unless preseason he just absolutely lights it up to be like all right your first season suiting up you're going to play like his first season suiting up on game day he will be playing in case Jared goes down like I don't think that's realistic at this point to be honest Lucas I don't I think it'd be Nate sudfeld going out there and I don't know if anyone would like that so no offense to him but it's the reality there toners brought it up to like there was a reason they went out and they got Teddy Bridgewater last off season because they knew that if Nate subfield goes out there your winning percentages are not that high this guy is a guy that goes in there help Jared GF execute and game plan going into the the game week and I don't think he's a guy that the Lions want to trot out there I don't think he's a guy that Detroit Lions fans want to watch try to trot out there so I've said it go hit up ATL bring that man Taylor hinei home you go you go find Josh do you bring him home you find somebody that you've seen been able to win games he's not going to be able to win you a season but win you one or two games if his numbers called on improvise give the defense a different look keep on their toes so The Playmakers can make plays that's what they need and and for the People Too asking like hey who's going to be that guy whe whether it's a Taylor hanii or I see Steve Le and Ryan tanah Hill like there are guys out there who who will be available what you have to like the first week of the the preseason second week there are going to be quarterbacks who look really good like not really good but hey that's going to be a player that's probably playing better than hen hooker right now or Nate sudfeld go out and sign him like if Ryan tanah Hill is available go get Ryan tanah Hill if there's someone available go do that if a guy gets cut go get him but you do have to keep like I I think that's a little bit more of a conversation that should be had in Detroit right now I mean John writes here hooker rush for a touchdown with the third team offense thanks to his scramble and he also writes on the final play of practice he overshot Jaylen coun see that play it was it was tough and he uh he he wrote also about how dpj and tayquon Smith were trayquan Smith were on the third team as well and then kif was playing with the second team and and I think the I think about a guys with like khif Raymond and Fountain it just makes more sense that Fountain is a he's a true X I mean he's a yeah he would fit that role better than Raymond if he uh plays because Raymond's not a guy that you're gonna consist you're not putting out there on the outside and be like go win a you know 5050 ball with CLE Raymond like you know Darice fountain's probably more suited for that so you know when I started reading some of the stuff with C playing on the second team it doesn't surprise me like that that you know he's not he's they need that type of player that Darice f is in dpj that's what I expected but if it's z f he fits that that mold so I think I think it's fair to say too like K I was telling you Jeff at training camp like I think khif is like he's kind of like Aman R st Brown into a sense where it's like he's he's a little bit of a Swiss army knife where you you can do whatever you want on offense with him obviously you're not gonna throw a ball up to him you know and have him go get it but like he's like I'm and Rob where you can line him up in different spots um the doggy dog in the chat said a utility man I think those was actually the words I used to you Jeff when we were talking about it so like that's where it's for me it's like I'm not khif Raymond has got a spot on this roster he's going to be a huge part of the offense he's just a utility guy though where D Fon he's got a specific job Nate suda fed is just wild it's true though sh hor by the way showing it we appreciate you uh yeah Nate suda fed that that's it's tough uh injury news John wrote Uh Kevin zitler and corner Taran Arnold left practice evaluated for injuries zeitler is being looked at with a possible shoulder injury and we talked about it earlier Taran Arnold possible concussion so you know those are some of the things that transpired today we'll have more tomorrow um kind of leaning up into training camp and we'll also be doing a live watch party for the preseason game so here at crunch time Sports we'll be live streaming watching the game and really during our show so if you want to come hang out we'll have a pregame show as well discussing some of what we want to see for that preseason game with the players that need to have a game in order to make the roster and kind of show out and we'll provide all those that information on that and then we'll have a watch party so uh be there we'll probably I think the game's at seven so we'll probably do pregame like six to seven and then seven until the game's over everyone come join us I'm P come hang out we'll uh we'll be hanging out watching it so uh hey if if we got a little anything football related preseason or not we're uh we're going to be we're tuning in so we will too regular season we're going to be doing watch parties and it's going to be like at like a a bar or something in Detroit or Metro Detroit so I'm pumped for that boys we're going to be live watch parties people can come even watch with us yeah we'll be we'll be doing that as well so stick around I I want to get to uh Pat McAfee's comments today about Dan Campbell so I'm gonna play the clip Pat McAfee said WHAT about Dan Campbell? we'll stay on screen here I'll play the clip uh and then we'll kind of discuss it and what Pat's been talking about because despite him uh you know flipping a little bit on Detroit and being showing more love as of late excuse me he wasn't wrong in this clip so let's let's hear from Pat magae what he said today about Motor City Dan Campell let's let's check it out so I think a lot of people think he's big dumb dip [ __ ] that is not the case at all if you look at what he's been able to do to the Detroit Lions and obviously it's alongside Brad and it's alongside a lot of great coordinators and a great players but there's one man that is setting the tone for the Detroit line since he got the job it was a man who said hey we're gonna Embrace Detroit we're gonna be about Detroit we're gonna be tough we're going to be gritty and we're going to draft the right guys now all these draft picks come after the season that took place before first season happened remember his pillar player pan soul and St Brown both of them brand new deals still on the squad they were the people they wanted to build and set the team's culture around and they certainly did that in a matter of three years they're now the favorites of the NFC North they're now one of the favorites to be in a Super Bowl where for what 150 years the Detroit Lions were laughed at pretty much this dude needs to get a little bit more credit for how he is as a coach for how he's been able to turn around a program turn around a building and how he's been able to remain himself whenever he's doing these press conferences now obviously Detroit's not a big market and they are the the Detroit Lions of course and the way he delivers his messaging publicly is one that a lot of people cannot take Serious potentially if you didn't want to but he's a great coach yeah and he's built his team on everything that you need to win they're fully bought in they're fully committed that's why whenever you hear the lions are going to be in joint practices you know 10,000% that there's going to be an Us Versus Them bunker mentality because that's what mcdc has literally built his entire team on so there's be braws some of these fights this morning coming out of hey wa well I mean gets me fired up I'm not gonna lie he's not wrong I will correct him though Detroit is a pretty big Market I think they're like a top five Market in the United States so but hey I do are are are is Detroit actually a top five Market top 10 they're they're top 10 market so they're uh they're they're a pretty good siiz Market but basically what he's saying though the rebuild boy is from from where he was with what he was given till now he's not wrong everything he said is true yeah that's why I had Dan Campbell as my top five NFL coach at five was like you could people think he's a meathead people think that he just is like I just like bite knaps have some choll on my mouth and you know like no Dan Campbell's like an elite head coach he's built this this organization up I don't think he gets enough credit like let's let's be honest here how many coaches have tried to come into Detroit since the 90s and do a d Dan Campbell has done a lot like we've gone through so many different regimes and Dan Campbell's been able to do it and yeah you could say Sheila or or Brad Holmes but Dan's the one that has came in I say this all the time this man came in and set the tone instantly in the culture and say we're biting kneecaps and when you fall or or when you know every time you hit us we're going to bite another part of your kneecap and another one and we're going to keep getting up like that's a tone he set and people laughed at him but the players in the building probably like no this is a I like like this is a football guy and he has built like think about how fast it has taken him to build this this program like do you guys remember when we did Sports Talk two years ago when Dan was and Jeff I know you remember this being on the morning show that like the the timeline that you and Adam would lay out was like Hey year three is this year four you can start competing for an NFC North year five year and maybe make a playoff year five you're competing for you know the NFC championship game in the super this dude did it in three years like he expedited this thing and got this thing done within three years like he almost went to the playoffs year two like put that in perspective with the roster that he had and the young guys he had like that is unbelievable shout out to Pat too for I know a lot of people say Pat doesn't give that much like he was he was going at Dan for a while in the Lions finally giving him some credit too yeah just how he's won and also just how he's developed players I know Ben Johnson gets a lot of credit for being able to put these players in situations but seeing how jir Gibbs Sam leapor all the rookies that we talked talk about offensively and defensively how they can just step in and play that shows a lot about what Dan Campbell is teaching these players in the offseason also between the weeks so Dan Campbell as far as a developer too like he deserves a lot more credit for the talent that he's developed yeah I give I give Dan a ton of credit his leadership the changing a culture it's like you know college coaches are especially great college coaches there's that you know culture seter you know and you're recruiting and all this stuff but you see in the NFL like culture just it works but you have to show results and you have to you have to get guys to buy in and and Dan is very good at that even when they're losing which it's very easy to lose a locker room I mean these are grown men making millions of dollars and if you're not winning games guys are clocking out mentally it's easy to lose a locker room you know it's it's it's tough what Dan's doing like no matter what and now they're finally having success and the guys are like oh so this is why that that's why any adversity they face like that's why Dan is is pretty much widely regarded as a top five top 10 NFL coach right now uh after one season of of true success one season of making the playoffs because you saw what this team looked like I mean Corey brought it up the secondary was not great I mean it was bad and and they were winning games by simply just bending not breaking but the offense and of course he would even give credit to his assistant coaches but Dan Campbell he doesn't want the credit uh he's the same he's consistent and that's what you want in a head coach consistency someone that's going to be the same every day no matter what the situation is that's what you want any type of leader you know you don't want the leader to hit the panic button then everyone else hits the panic button like Dan does not get phased and that's one of his stronger qualities I mean he is one of the best leaders in the NFL and I'm not just saying that because we cover the Lions I mean I I we know a lot about the NFL we talk a lot of NFL even though we focus more Lions but even outside the show we're always talking and and Dan Campbell is just to Simply put just different I mean there's a a handful of coaches that you know there there's different molds of coaches there's the offensive minded coaches there's the defensive minded coaches and then there's kind of that Dan Campbell uh you know leadership quality coach or someone that you bring in to kind of be the leader of your football team and some guys maybe have both where they're defensive minded like a de o Ryan he's a very good leader Dan's more offensive but you see now NFL is a copycat League more teams are trying to find the next Dan Campbell like who's a guy that we could bring in that'll just be an absolute leader and guys will follow I mean it's the reason I would argue that uh Matt eberl even has a job because we had a beat wrer on Chicago and his biggest point was well he hasn't lost the locker room yet like you see how important that is and especially when you're winning and even when you're do have tough times like the Lions had where they were 0 and 10 or whatever it was and he still didn't lose the locker room like Dan Campbell has still a lot to prove but man like he's he's a he's a guy and I don't I haven't not said this once uh being a lions fan I haven't and because I'm always skeptical byad coaches but Dan Campbell is someone that I could see being here for a long time very very long time and the game an extension and he still had years left on his contract so kudos to him and Brad Holmes of course he he too a big thing with that too and I think a lot of people are going to come around like the biggest question when it comes to like NFL teams this was the conversation we had after the Lions lost in the NFC championship game was can teams like is it a one-time thing or can teams kind of continue to to be in there like how Kyle shanan Shanahan has done with the 49ers is continuously have them in the NFC championship game in Super Bowls you kind of going for that I think after this year if Dan Campbell's able to take this team back to an NFC championship game at the minimum and win another NFC North I think that's where he starts to get a lot more credit around the NFL and around the league to where people start putting him top five how to coach because you're able to put it back to back and that's like the biggest question is hey can can a coach stay consistent can yep Vincent e right there con consistency and if he does that back-to-back years like you saw them finish the season 9 and3 UM knocked the Packers and Aaron Rogers out of the playoffs now you see them go 12 and you know 12- four and now and go to the NFC championship game now that he puts another year together there is no doubt in in anyone's mind in the NFL that this is one of the best coaches in the NFL and he's he's with theit lions like zero doubt in my mind that he is one of the best if he's able to take take this team to a Super Bowl or even another NFC Championship game I'm not going to lie to you guys either when he when he had his first speech uh and he did the kneecaps thing like I was was a little I was like oh geez like I don't know about that like I I because I I I got it partially like I'm like okay because it's players are gonna love that like I think the players laugh but they're also like I like this you know he's he's like a for he's a former player he's speaking from a players's perspective there was some skep like I think his his personality how he he's just it looks like when it's game time it's game time but outside of it Dan likes to just have fun and he's himself and he's comfortable within his own skin that like people it's hard to like understand that because you see like Shawn McVey and Kyle shanan these these gurus and then you have Dan Campbell and he's like the most like he makes fun of himself sometimes and you have Pat mcfey making fun of him like he's easy to like not take serious but I think he likes that like I I think he likes being the guy that people look at and they're like this guy's just all muscle like he doesn't know he likes being that the underdog I guess in a way because the team kind of replicates that when they play football so he he's uh he he continues to surprise me man even the fourth down stuff like I I got to a point where I'm like [ __ ] it Dan Campbell's going for it we're going for God yeah crazy clown said it best I honestly didn't mind it because it was the complete opposite of Patricia like Patricia made me my blood boil just watching him on the sideline when he would roll around on that [ __ ] go-kart around the practice field like do it like to your point like you're losing games you're three and 13 you're you're what they were 4 and 12 like whatever they were and you're riding around at practice in a [ __ ] golf cart like that you lose the locker room just like that and that's why they'll even send Bob Quinn out there with them too because they're like well you're the one that hired this guy and he was a complete laughing stock and no one believes in him not even you so I didn't even mind the Dan Campbell stuff and yeah and I agree with this Vincent uh too uh coaching tree I'm telling you Campbell's gonna have a coaching tree he's very good which is an underrated part of being a head coach is finding good assistants actually there's been coaches that have not figured that out and gotten fired so it's an undervalued trait of any head coach if you can hire the right assistants and consistently hit on getting the right coaches it's super important now ideally if you have a guy like Shawn McVey or Kyle Shanahan you don't have to worry about assistance uh but Dan even though he's not those guys in terms of how how he's portrayed I'm not saying he doesn't know as much football as those guys I think he does but those guys come off as these like these absolute gurus but Dan knows he knows Ball but he also knows humans and he knows how to read like okay this guy like Ben Johnson or grooming Tanner inran to be the next coordinator like I think they like Tanner and he's comfortable with him and with all the assistance he has around him like he the dude knows how to find good coaches um so I I don't worry about that at all he almost had two had coaches come out this year like Aaron Glenn interviewed for multiple jobs Ben JN like he he's gonna get multiple guys out there in the next two years Tanner thing I don't remember did we talk about the Tanner angrand thing on the show last week how how I think we briefly mentioned it but not really yeah so like yeah I mean Tanner's going to be a guy and you called that early on like he he I'll gu I'll put a guarantee on it when Ben Johnson leaves I will bet someone I don't know how much but I will bet someone to pizza or something that Tanner angrand will be the Detroit Alliance next see like that's I think that's like one of the biggest locks of all time um let's let's play this clip Dan Campbell speaking about kind of the expectations and he spoke to the media today we have some clips we'll get to Dan Campbell speaks to the media the the clip about nickel iy potentially playing some nickel I know you like that classy we'll get to that in a second but here's the uh the expectations how does he handle it so on and so forth coaching the Lions but let's hear let's hear from Dan Campbell uh yeah I would I I would say like we have every year um you know the most important thing is um is that they understand what it took to get to where we were at even last year and just because we got to that point uh doesn't mean anything so we start over now we've got the core group uh we've gotten a little bit better Brad's done an unbelievable job adding the talent but but it starts over with the work and so uh there is no complacency there is no entitlement we go back to work and that is the focus because if you don't work it doesn't matter so we put back in the work I love that just the work put work in yeah yeah no he's right U and the complacency is probably the biggest one of the biggest reasons injuries of course factor in of teams falling short of of what they desire Po in the postseason but complacency definitely is one of those things like teams that just assume they're hey we're going to get there and then they don't do you remember the the the overreaction of fans like when when Dan said like we might not get back there next year or whatever the comment was he made yeah and like the fans were like oh my gosh like we're not gonna ever make it back like Dan Campbell said yeah like rival fans are like oh look at your coach doesn't even believe in you it's like no look listen to what he's saying today too like it it takes work to get there like you're not just going to say hey here you go like they worked last year you have to work to another level not just to get there again but like to actually win the game and go to the Super Bowl like it takes that much more so like they know it and and the thing was the conversation that we had I remember walking in Detroit after the game and and Jeff I remember like like it was yesterday and just being like there is no chance on this world that Dan Campbell would ever let a team not get back there next year like this guy is going to make sure this team works and he is like right back in the same position next to you like I don't see it happening to where he slips up at all and he doesn't whether unless there's like like again a big injury or something there's no chance though that he just lets this thing slip through through the ropes and he doesn't get this team back like there's zero chance Boer path won't allow it no one will allow it Dan's not gonna fail and I've we've went down the rabit a whole many of times but this team just diff Personnel wise just by itself is built to make it back a lot of those teams that flake out that's like their one shot to get there and then they have all these guys on the end of the rookie contracts they got to extend it the lions are doing that but they're getting ahead so they can stay out of that situation so the Lions they'll be right back they'll be making plays defensively without a doubt they're going to be better so kall VOR is not having a ball bounce off his face mask you don't got to worry about having absolute liabilities at both Corner spots this team is going to be right back in the same position next year probably even better let's go I wanted to hit that air horn that was now that was air horn that was air horn worthy um um I see Mike Bell real quick he says how was Nashville we had a blast man I'm happy to be back the boys one of the best weekends yeah you know what before the season starts uh and now we're going to lock in and and it's a long season ahead I'm excited I cannot wait even for a preseason game I can't believe I'm even saying that but I'm excited for preseason I mean I just want to see this thing go just get it going I wish it started today honestly I can't wait dude I can't wait till week one the Rams like I'm betting hey betting every week doing pregame shows postgame shows it's gonna be fun it just last year so electrifying like the Boer path and going to almost have going to a Super Bowl like lions fans we almost went to a Super Bowl like that's like one of the 17-point lead to go to one it's just like been waiting just like for revenge like I just want revenge I can't wait till the 49ers week I can't either I mean let's let's let's listen to Dan because Dan mentioned too how if he's been playing a little in the slot thought it was interesting just trying guys out at different positions that's what training Camp's for you know and let's he from from from Dan Campbell about that nickel spot but uh we we'll play this clip here I I think everything you just listed is important um you know certainly you want to see how the guys that you're counting on are they still responding do they still have that you know do they still have it uh some of these guys you want to just verify that uh but then yeah the nickel position is big I mean between aiek and Eman and we may give uh iffy some reps there um you know that that's one the receiver position you me you mentioned it Fountain and and dpj um you know Kaden Davis I mean there there's some guys here uh certainly we know what TK is um you know and then some of these young linemen you know Kingsley uh HUD you know uh I mean there there's a number of these guys that we got to find out about um so it it it'll be good it's going to be good for us yeah I mean yeah I mean you heard players that they're they're going to still continue to evaluate different position battles and you know he he said amek Robertson's in the mix uh Emanuel Mosley's in the mix and how they mentioned they might give iffy some some reps at that spot I mean given they have Kirby Brian and iffy and and you want guys that can play multiple positions in case there are injuries so although part of me thinks if he already played corner you move him to safety I don't want to put him at nickel because I I think he he's better play better as a a strong safety that's what he's been playing but I also understand kind of get guys in different spots in case there are injuries and you need someone to play like I I kind of get both sides of that I don't mind it you want more vers versatility I I don't I don't mind it I guess I mean that's what I think that's where if he wants to shine and make us a solidified starting spot for the future on this roster it's got to be at the niichel spot because it's not going to be a strong safety of Brian branches there as much as people ha for some reason which I'm coming to find out Kirby Joseph is probably not going anywhere some anytime soon unless they decide not to resign him which at this point I really think that he does stay on this team I think he's bowled out as a rookie he's not going to be asking for top dollar I think he's seen what happened contractually with this team so he knows what he's going to get worth but Kirby Joseph Brian Branch are going to be the safeties for this team if if he melon who wants to make that spot he's got to beat out of Meek Robertson he's got to beat out of am Manel Mosley but to your point that you just brought up Jeff and that nickel you're kind of like the hybrid Corner safety and what is if you Anu drafted his corner and now he's a safety so I think that's a role that he could really excel at especially because it gives him freed to get freedom to get after the quarterback so iffy if he runs with this spot which I think he has all the ability to do I think that's where you see the best part of this defense I want to see iffy on the field but I just don't want to see him mess around with Brian Branch's snap like just let Brian Branch be Brian branch that that's I I think like they're not going to do anything different with I think branch is is is locked in I'm just interested to like the meek Roberts like I I think Ami can be really good but we saw what ify did last year down the stretch and I like that that six seven game sample size and I know it was at safety and it wasn't at nickel if he does like plays at a level like he did there at the nickel position you start to put iffy in a like you have to like these are guys who have to be on the field and you're trying to find your best player spots on the field and like has has aiek Robertson ever had a stretch of football that ify Mal fondu had last year down the stretch probably probably not so like if if he is playing to that level again this year you have no choice but to find the way to get him on the field and if that's at nickel like he's played every position is in the secondary if he has already so like he he can do it I'm not I'm not worried that he can't do it I'm just interested to see I feel like that they haven't really done it yet and now that today Dan said it it was like all right we have to try it because we need to find a way to get this guy on the field like we can't just keep keeping this guy off the field so I think that was why today he said like they're finally going to try to throw him at at nickel you know who it it Rik straw that takes I think now all of a sudden Rik straw is out with the nickel I think Rik shw ends up being the guy to where if Carlton or terion goes out he's first man out like if they're out for a game or something or something happens he's because we saw that last year all the time the corn Corners were getting hurt and you were just rotating through guys I think R sh ends up just being next man Off the Bench when it comes to that that'll be interesting you see I think just honestly the next best defensive back is going to be playing Nicholls like R STW can definitely play on the outside but he's going to Excel on the inside especially like we said where Brian Branch was like just he just flies the ball and those guys just they they just tend to do better at that nickel spot R straw I think in the future he's definitely going to be the nickel for this defense but to your point Boer this year he might be pushing ver competition on the outside but he's definitely still gonna play some nickel and I think you agree with that as well yeah that it's just weird it's it's a deep room like those guys especially with a mo Mosely healthy back now yeah I mean and you want your best players there I think that's the biggest argument to have a lineup of Kirby iy and Brian Branch I mean those are they it's not just yeah they play safety but they're some of your best secondary players like Point Blank period so I I don't mind kind of cross training guys and getting guys play in different positions I mean Brian branch is just so good he could play at nickel he could play at strong safety Kirby I think we agree there CL he's he's true he's a true free safety there's not you're not moving him around so unless you're subbing iffy in because of is that good at nickel like I I can see if he because again he he can do it all too I mean he had we just broke down what if what was it two three weeks ago three weeks ago of him talking about Ag and how his ability to get after the quarterback was uh you know AG would taught him all the tricks and he excelled at that so making plays near the line of scrimmage I think he would that that's I mean you six3 is big I don't know I I like a guy like him with his length I I'd prefer him out in coverage I mean even the Malik neighbor catch today like that was pretty good coverage it was just a better play great catch but uh he's going to be guarding smaller guys but again I I don't I don't hate I think he has the athleticism to to play it you know and he can make plays in The Run game so I I don't I don't really hate it and you're gonna have a competition there Andis rraw amek Emanuel Mosley like it's a it's a battle at nickel it's it's gonna be a complete battle and I forgot to clip too and and and just after that shout out the doc John mackon he actually asked Dan right after like hey how comfortable are you essentially with with ify there and he was like Hey like if he's played Corner he's gone to safety like he's able to do like I I feel like they do have a lot of faith in him to be able to do it like if anyone's able to make those jumps it have like I like obviously Branch from nickel to to safety but I think if he could do the same thing like this dude played at a an insane level like not like what what he did to end the season last year I think he deserves a chance to go to the nickel like you can't just say hey you're like you're you're coming off the bench now like you have to give this guy some sort of chance after what he did for you down the stretch last year and and what he showed like how good of a player he is I think you just have to say look at it be like we have to give this guy an opportunity like we have to like let I think a lot of it a lot of it too will be like matchup wise like when the when the Lions play the 49ers I would expect a lot more iffy compared to when the Lions play the Texans and you have three wide receivers that can cook you with Nico cins Stefan digs tank Dell that's a matchup that I'd be more comfortable seeing like a Meek Robinson cover guys who are better there when you're playing like run first teams I think that's where you see a lot of iffy yeah and amek Robertson I think played outside 75% of the time about um with his prior team I think in 2023 it says he played more than 75% of his snap set outside so he played nickel didn't play a lot of it so it's not like a Meek is a you know easy to win that battle I I like him at nickel but I I don't hate that I mean having your best players out there uh you guys want to take a look at this depth chart I here this was put out by the just local beat writers for for Unofficial Detroit Lions depth chart! the Detroit Lions and I got this specifically from Jeremy Risman so shout out to him uh but he posted on his Twitter and and it's been going around but it's the depth chart basically of uh so far and you look at we'll just take a look at the offense first and kind of go around but you see uh the offensive line no surprise there but you know Jared G Dave MCG Army jir Gibbs which they still kind of have I mean we we agree it's a Duo so there's not really much take away there sudfeld backing up Sher G the wide receiver battle you have Alan Ros Brown Jameson Williams they have Darice Fountain and Tom Kennedy uh so okay I don't know what that means what's going on I I don't know why maybe I don't know why uh guess Antoine green would be back and I mean CLE Raymond's there but I don't know Tom Kennedy's up there Don peoples Jones is way in the back I don't know what's going on it's just because it's probably like you have your X Y and Z receivers you got probably with J Jones because they're be lined up J then you got your y or Z and then it's just different positions like they're all wide receivers but like they have different roles I I do think that the biggest thing just with it is you do see dares Fon like right there and I I do think that's like I'm going to say purposeful from the Lions obviously the people like you don't want to take too much account of this it's probably they probably just threw this and I'm sure Dan or any of them never even looked at this I bet you it was just the pr team and my guess is the pr team took what they thought and and they put it together I could be wrong with that but that's just what it feels like but I do think like dares Fountain is the obviously like looking at this is in the lead for for that wide receiver spot like clearly clearly look at Colby right tackle right behind just looking at that's an interesting know that means anything but I guess the two things that shock me I was first the Tom Kennedy thing just because I I to your point Lucas about like the x and z and all that I mean CLE frayman but behind him is Antoine who's like a true out he's like an outside guy so I it's like confusing but and then I see dpj and then I look down and you you see who's in the same spot essentially I mean you have Donovan peoples Jones and you have Isaiah Williams undrafted free agent Giovani Manu who's a project Duke Clemens I mean Kingsley Jake Burton Conor G Galvin uh Shane ZR I mean it's like all these guys I mean hen hooker I guess would be the other one but we understand he still needs some more work but then Craig Reynolds Jamar Jefferson like it's just not a a spot an ideal spot for dpj he's by far the biggest name there I mean there is no doubt he is not he is that would be a spot I would I would think that Tom Kennedy would be at all due respect to him but he should be probably there but I think that was some somewhat I don't not gonna live and die by this but I I did notice that right away I'm like oh okay interesting the thing too it's like it makes sense though because the doc reported today on SI that dpj was with the third team running like he he was the one out there with the third team so like that's like that's on the depth chart that makes sense he's sitting here in the third with the third team on the depth chart you know what I mean like there's it's lining up it's like this this this guy I think it's the thing where it's more so Darice F's not giving this spot up and Darice is like we saw that camp he catches everything he's reliable he got an opportunity and I actually heard it too actually I don't know if we ever talked about this on the show Nolan bian said in the heavyweights I don't know if anyone even like really heard it dpj did he fail his his his not physical but conditioning test or he just didn't show up for it or something like that he said that like he said today on the show he was like dpj failed or or missed his his conditioning test and then when when that happened Dar fountain's the one that jumped in and dar Fountain just has not given up the spot since so like that that that's something that I I don't think we talked about on the show at all I thought that was interesting I don't know if that was like something that's been reported officially I have not seen it but he said that on the show today and I was like I did not know that at all like I thought dpj just wasn't showing up so he might he missed or he failed his his conditioning test okay so I have that here I want to break I just looked it up so Sports Illustrated wrote about it and Detroit News where noan okay how long ago was that cuz I don't remember that at all that's it was talked about in July but it was wrote about the Detroit news three days ago because I believe that was Nolan too but okay yeah does a great job but here's uh Sports illustrator talked about it but every year the Lions do a conditioning test because remember what Dan Campbell always says stay in shape that that's one of the biggest things so they do conditioning tests every year H and it's it it's been reported that down peoples Jones I I believe failed his he showed up a day late so you know a day late because of a failed conditioning test so he was good the next day but it took him he wasn't ready when he needed to be ready that's what matters and that's that's where D Fountain jumps in he gets that spot and we saw he doesn't give it up he says hey I'm I'm here I'm not going to drop passes I'm gonna be consistent and I'm not GNA give it back to dpj it's like that small slip up I do classi I do want I don't know if you saw the running back the depth try I know we have to do the defense but before the defense the running backs can we pull back up real quick Craig Craig's the third guy there I think Jamar Jefferson was four or not surprised I mean especially with all these guys like you you know what Craig Reynolds is I think he's a guy that even if vaky were to look really good in Camp like Craig Reynold's still that's the third string running back for this team until proven otherwise and then Donovan Knight has been there Jamar Jefferson has been there vaky and Jake Funk their first team with the uh first camp with the team I think I'm not I'm not looking to see vaky get too many carries this season I think he is going to be guy that's be showing out on special team they look developed to be kind of like when it's the jir Gibb Show eventually that day is going to come he's a guy that they can kind of peace with them to give another threat out the back field not not for the next two to three years though dopr that much yeah I think the the preseason games like Reynolds vaky zonovan Knight and tramar Jefferson are gonna be the that's gonna be the battle Yeah you got to give that man some carries we I just put the ball in his hands I just want to see him make plays that's all I want to see from baky I mean you they're gonna cut some of these running backs I think zonovan Knight goes back on the practice team practice squad I think Jamar Jefferson potentially too but I I Jake Funk he's gonna get cut sorry or clsy yeah Jake Funk the Jake Funk show asleep you were asleep yeah he's a Rams Legend Rams Legend Jake punk yeah sleep on him so you go to the defense and we'll kind of break this down a little bit here let me pull this up okay so uh you look at Edge and who they have so we'll go through the we'll start we'll start with the defensive line so they have a Hudson DJ Rider Lee mcneel and Arcus Davenport uh which we have we talked about before and then Levi owns arque uh he is backing up DJ reader so he he is kind of like again if if DJ Raider's out week one you kind of now at this point you kind of know well I mean and we've known this but now you see it on paper that Levi is probably gonna be the first one in but James Houston Josh Pascal playing on the edge Kyle PCO actually ahead of broadrick not that I'm I'm buying all the stock I I like of this depth chart like it's the Bible but Cal PCO hasn't really I haven't really seen a lot about him but apparently coaches like him and Terr and Terell Williams likes him a lot he he was with Terell Williams in Tennessee last year I believe too played 13 games in Tennessee so so defensive line I mean that checks out Marcus Davenport though Bo starting on the edge yeah I yeah I think I might have to to retract what I my my take on that one I think that yeah I there's no chance Levi starts I I know we just kept seeing it and I think the reason we kept seeing it as I think about it a little bit more I think the reason be of that was just because Marcus Davenport was slowly coming back from injury and I might have just taken a little too much like oh here we go boys leev iio I me put it all together that there could be situations where we see levio out there as like a five tech or something where he's kind of playing that edge role that tweener role but when you have guys like even Marcus Davenport and I think Josh Pascal would give you more of a presence specifically on the edge like I said Levi could go out there but I don't think that's in a position where he's gonna thrive in by any means yeah it is interesting too guys that and when we were there this might be another like the Kyle PCO thing like obviously Levi was on the edge W with with d kind of slowly working in like brck was the one stepping in for DJ reader not really it wasn't really Kyle PCO from what we saw like the starting group that was out there every time it looked like it was brck so like I don't know if that's per obviously we don't want to take a count into this but that is an interesting thought that that because because br's been a lot what what I you I think people are you should still be high on brck I I'm not surprised I mean he's a guy that again we talked about as a project and it's two you know like I I didn't think rri I don't think he's going to make noise this year you know I think there's still work to be done you just you just you should be happy that he's working as hard as he's working because he's moving and he's going in the right direction but like it doesn't surprise me that like a veteran in Kyle pek's ahead of him you know like I'm not shocked by that I'm not concerned by that either uh what I am concerned with or at least you should be concerned with is uh yeah all the way over here right above Pat o' Conor yeah he's like at the bottom of the yeah like Nate Lynn very solid buts over there John injured I think there should be an asterisk next to our our bet with Matthew bets I I don't think it should be I think it should be like voided I I'm confused why why I just Dan Dan and them came out and they they said that they they tried to throw him at Sam like I made that bet thinking he was just pure Edge rusher no no Sam linebacker nothing like that and they started throwing all these things at him like if I would have known they were going to throw a million things at him I would have said there's no way he's going to be able to hand all that he's com from the CFL like we should have known that and they threw all these things at him and now he's at the bottom of the depth chart because he he went through all these different you're saying the coaching staff mismanaged them is that what you're saying I don't know I just think hey there might coaching staff that we also give credit for for developing players okay Jeff if you're trying to come at me for calling them out Dan Campbell said it Dan Campbell's Dan Campbell and he he admits when he was wrong and he he came out and said we threw too much at him we had to take a step back with him because we gave him way too many too much so if Dan Campbell can admit he's wrong Boon don't you think it's time that you can as well possibly I gotta see what happens first we gotta watch at least Thursday let's see what happens so then no asri by the no by the comes out and just absolutely has like two sacks and a two or three sacks remember last year Julian Aquaria came out with like two sacks everyone was like I think it was Julian i r did both both of them had both of them had a day we we were at the game he had like two and a half sacks the first preseason game everyone's like oh my gosh Julian's back and then like really was back he's back people were saying all right not back but like hey Julian's here like yeah back like he was he was here at some point like by the way I will honor the bet I'm not gonna I see people in the chat being like Bo I mean let's be real here but I willon it if you give me a pizza I mean you're having a we're eating the pizza like we're eating it together I'm just paying for the pizza now I I always honor my bets dude I I always will I just disappointing what happened with Matthew Betts like he was on track to he was on track they they they track look at Jack Campbell there though let's talk about that Jack Campbell and anzo how about that sorry I just had to play that uh yeah Jack Campbell uh he's he's on there with anzo I see that Derek Barnes Malcolm Rodriguez I you know what I I real quick I just gotta add this in and this stood out to me and I saw Stephen uh say something and and me and him are on the same page here he said I'm the only one hoping Gilmore passes vildor on dep chart like I looked at this and I'm like come on Stephen you can got it in you you can see you can see the Finish Line you can see the Finish Line yes I I'm With You Stephen I love I love Stephen Gilmore and and I think kindall vildor he's just he should be depth and and I'm not talking about the same he's not chilling he shouldn't be chilling there with Dennis rraw I think it should be Stephen gilboy I think he'll show that hope so he he's got to take the step forward like Dan said like he he you have to you can't got instincts which I like I like that he's a developmental player like if you're a development guy and you're not taking that big step forward to be like hey we could really put you in the Rost in the rotation you're probably not going to make like big jumps and we like we've been to training camp did you guys mention step Gilmore's name at all in two days no no one think doc did though doc brought it up to us said he's been looking really good yeah cuz I I asked the question because he had uh the lions were posting footage of him looking really good in coverage and that was guarding I think like I think he was on the threes I think he might have been with the threes but he was that's what you want to see you know you'd rather yeah him shine against the threes then get cooked against the threes you know you want him to show that so yeah it's interesting I mean Corner nothing really surprising there at nickel and meek Robertson Emanuel Mosley I mean nothing surprising I think the thing I look at and again I said this three times I'll say it again this isn't the official dep chart for week one all right but this is to kind of give you an idea Brian branch and Kirby Joseph starting at safety like I think that's one of the things I I looked at I was like oh interesting okay because you see Dan giving you the hint they want to play iy at nickel and kind of try him out there why would they do that fellas because they want to get him on the field you know like why think about that for a second you're like because if they if they knew he was playing safety they'd be like oh no you know he he'll be play safety he'll be good they kind of know I think at this point you're starting to get that feeling that it's going to be Brian branch and Kirby Joseph week one at safety that's where I'm I'm trending at least he should be yeah he he's in the first team there and he has been like on and off coming back from injury and they are they still have him there yeah Brian branch is losing the spot but most importantly boys you know what name we do not see in the safety room defensive back room and J no Will Harris on this roster I do not see the name Will Harris on this roster and as a Detroit Lions fan I can breathe I have more I have more confidence than Brandon Joseph going out there who didn't play at all in his rookie year out of Notre Dame and making a play over Will Harris Will Harris great guy did a lot for the community while in Detroit but on the field man that was brutal to watch absolutely brutal and that was probably the biggest move the Lions could have made this off season was just I will Harrison not step foot on the field he's he's in New Orleans now he's signed a one-year deal in New Orleans so they can alen cooking Dennis Allen continues to cook hey Jeff can you throw the the depth chart up one more time is it too late still have it yeah let get it let me get it give me a kick return punt return I think that's actually like I didn't look too much into that I I didn't look too much into I think it's interesting though because people did say and cl me and you had the conversation at one point that khif like it's it might be time to let khif just play on offense they still have and you'll see it here they still have khif Raymond as their kick returner or punt returner I apologize Donathan people's Jones is the backup hunt returner and then kick returner I think they had let me see let me see I I'll put it out the way it is Craig Reynolds but Craig Reynolds and and I can't kall oh K dorsy is the which that's where I was like ah you know they're G man I I know we talked about it but there's got to be a year where Maurice Alexander is returning kicks that's yeah there has he's too good like I I I know that's probably one of the cuts where they're like we really don't want to let this guy go just because he makes play every time they give him an opportunity he makes a play and it's just hard for me to look past that we saw him we were live last year I think when ran like a kick return or a punt return back yeah he had like two he had another great return too it just didn't go to the house yeah I'm interested to see with that like they have Craig and khil back there that's I don't know preseason D got I don't I don't hate dorsy back there he I'm I'm a khil dorsy fan he he used to be a fan of the the last show I was on and and he he was a fan of us so I support khil dorsy he knows the Boer Pat a part of the yeah he I don't like this I don't think that's why I'm not looking too much into it like I don't think khif Raymond and Craig I I don't mind khif even though I I don't know if they'll depends I mean depends on who they cut if they cut Maurice Alexander he's probably one of your better options but I think you kind of need khif depending on what the wide receiver Court looks like and Craig Reynolds I don't I don't like him returning kicks especially with the new rules safe you know he's not gonna fumble that's what I don't care about yeah I guess that's true he just doesn't have probably the ideal burst like he's not gonna get up and down field to get you good field position like he's gonna he's probably running like a four five 45540 or something like that but it's like solid I get what you're saying you know he ain't running up four five 46 vy's running up 46 Craig re's probably like 46 47 yeah damn good at everything good blocker hey hey I'm giving him good blocker very good blocker yeah it's not like I'm trying to discredit him but he's he's got some limits he's got he's got a ceiling and a floor just like everybody else I think his just floor is a little higher and ceiling a little bit lower that's fair I don't hate that at all uh but yeah we'll move on here we'll get to mailbag get your questions ready anything could be drop related uh doesn't really matter we'll start with Vincent mailbag could you see our defense being top 10 this season yeah I I think it I could Mailbag! definitely see the situation I think they're gonna be right on that bubble I think they'll be like I said I'm not going to look into the stats and the yardage and where they rank up compared to other teams because I just know if they take what last year 18th 19th overall if they take a significant jump which they're going to do into that bubble then they're going to be in a Super Bowl contention without a doubt so that's all I care about yeah I think the top 10 is fair I again like I think to the last day or so I I've realized a little bit hey we do like the secondary situation like I really want to see what they look like but if the secondary ends up being what people say they will be and Hutch takes a step and the linebackers are what they are I I I do I really do think that they could be top 10 it's a big jump to make but I think you've saw some stretches out of guys last year like you do have a lot of pieces and like you're with ag I think AG's eventually gonna get this defense right I think that's this year too so top 10 I think is fair I'm I'm I'm in between top 15 and top 10 I don't know what what they'll be closer to I would I would I would probably lean top closer to top 10 but that makes it like if you're asking me will they be top 10 I'm like o yeah but could you see it could you see it I could see it I think if they do 10 or maybe maybe nine I I don't think top seven defense like I think we're just my opinion I think it's expecting too much you know like yeah I I wouldn't be like I think expecting it being like they're going to do it I think okay yeah let's relax like they still they were 25th or whatever it was last year like I think 11 12 you know 1 like in that area I don't I could see them jumping into six seven like I I don't think that's that crazy I like the the the secondary let's be honest like I know I I keep saying let's see it they do like we're talking about battles with Emanuel Mosley Ami Robertson and now ify malanu and we're talking about Carlton Davis and terion Arnold who was supposed to be a top 15 pick and Brian branch and Kirby Joseph like Aiden Hutchinson and Jack Campbell and like the you have a defense now it's like as soon as this defense clicks they're going to be easily top 10 in the NFL for a couple years easily that's where that's where I go with it a little bit I get it it's like if you don't want to it's that line there but I once they click there's no chance they're not in the top 10 zero chance uh well we we'll get to our next one here etn ask mailbag what is your favorite player outside of Detroit in the NFC North outside of the H I like Xavier mcken a lot I would say Keenan Allen for me I like I'm a big fan of Keenan Allen all time Keenan for sure I'm just trying to think guys like just right now yeah I'd probably go Keenan and Xavier mcken yeah KJ McCarthy oh love me some Quay Walker we didn't even talk about the Michigan stuff today I didn't even oh we don't need to do that we could yeah we could all about that tomorrow because uh I saw people arguing every year we see it uh yeah I mean do I have to see mine guys I mean who I I mean come on what do I do I have to I I don't want to I mean hope he fails with Chicago but boy if he succeeds I'll be upset but be like I tried fellas I tried to warn everybody I really did I tried to warn everybody I really tried I really did I hope he fails now he's on he's on the Bears whatever uh we we'll we'll move on here I got we got another question Anakin mailbag if the Lions win a Super Bowl can boot her jump in a pool of Kool-Aid fully clothed that'd be like there's levels that's a level we got to get to yeah I've had some people like reach out saying like all these different ideas like jugs or like like Cubs different things so I've got ice bath Kool-Aid ice yeah there there's some things that I have to think about to upgrade this thing and hopefully things start to advance a little bit I there will be other ideas I I do the thing what I struggle with is I do enjoy just doing a normal Kool-Aid video like I don't know like I don't want to like do too much and go away from what I do like people like you said everything's evolving you know don't give out any ideas someone might steal them oh no yeah last year when I came out with idea I told like two people I didn't tell anyone until the game and after the game so like I I have ideas in my head I just do it's like if you have something good you don't need it's like the NFL with these rules like you just don't need to change it and it's like if I start changing it and it's just like it's not like you know I don't know I I've had that thought a lot I would like to if I've said it before and we were at the training camp I would like to connect with someone from the Lions I know there's probably someone watching here PR or something that to do a collab like I would like to do a collab with the Lions somehow some way I don't see how that hasn't happened yet maybe I'm too big for my bridges is that the the saying but I I feel like that like that has to happen I don't know how it hasn't happened they missing out an opportunity B it's Weir it's weird yeah I'm I'm shocked uh freddy4 through and3 mailback any plans to do watch parties this season absolutely yes uh we'll actually do one this Thursday so come back Freddy and and come watch the game with us we'll watch the preseason game so we will be doing watch parties we'll be doing pregame shows postgame shows uh this week we'll probably do a pregame and then we'll do a watch party and then we'll do I don't want to do a post game because we're going to talk about it tomorrow the next day on our show so tune in to that show to hear all our thoughts but during the season we're gonna have pre-post watch party everything we'll be doing during during the season we're g to be at like a um what's a location like we we'll be somewhere like preseason we're going to be doing like over Zoom like or not zoom but our our platform here and the season we're gonna season will be in person yeah for all every game we'll we'll we'll have it and so where we're all together um yep so it'll be like we're you know a couch and everything and we'll be together doing it uh Patrick says if you could pick one prop to put units on every single week what would it be I'll go Gibbs TD that's a good interesting question I'm in R st Brown catches yeah I think I'm in Ross St Brown catches even Le pora yardage because sometimes they'll have like three catches 40 yards sometimes it'll be like five catches 40 yards and touchdown but I think like him 25 yards to 40 yards locked that in yeah I'm with you guys those are probably the two good ones um even Monty touched on too I think a good one uh it it's not I don't know about every game but most games is Jared gof if it's over one and a half TDS passing yeah he hits that like 80% of the games U but yeah I like the hey Boon I like yours and I mean Aman Ross's catches every week even if he had 50 yards these dude's getting like seven catches for 50 yards so uh but yeah that'll be another thing in the pregame shows uh betting which Boer will be giving out some year was like an all time I I just started seeing everything and I think we went I went like 16 straight bets and like four or five straight parlays for the Lions games it was like unbelievable yeah it was uh you and Mike are gonna be in your in your guys's bags this this season and then clsy hitting his lottery ticket I mean we're gonna be lock we're gonna be locked in so um and we'll be using B us because B us will take care of us so do you um we need to make like a deal like or at least with me Jeff I want to make a deal with you like if you take like if I come and and I've I've made I've hit I was last year was but every time there was times where you would switch up one leg or this that can we we need to make like a deal or we need to do something to where it's like you cannot touch it whatever I send you you're locked in you can't you can't mess with it straight bets and parlays it's like I see the board very very well well especially the Detroit Lions you always switch one and you're like I'm like celebrating you're like I didn't do that I forgot or we need you to lock in on that fair do we do a make a deal or something okay well I I got to stop being skeptical and changing the bet I understand that I'll I'll either add a leg or take a leg away or alter a leg it's just you know what I gotta I got a lot I got you Boon I promise because because that last year I felt like I was like we're Los it's with your bet we're losing your bet I'll take responsibility for it but I we I don't lose often do not lose often Boer bets there there's Boer there's Boer path and then there's Boer bets Boer bets is a completely different human different Human by the way uh jrod says are you guys doing a fantasy league with members oh we do need to figure something out with that she that is such a great idea and I love jrod it's a great suggestion I'm we have a lot of members so we'd have to figure out how we would set that up well technically we have no more members right now uh well I yeah I mean YouTube shout out to you uh a bunch of douchebags but we uh I I can still check I think who has memberships or had memberships but regardless we'll probably do something uh we should with with we can even do like daily leaks too where it's like everybody like you draft the team where you pick the players for that day SE long it's a good idea yeah we'll figure out some we want we want to have an intera some sort of interaction doing something yeah like think about different maybe we get like a certain amount of members and we do a wheel for who's in the league or I don't know get drafted crunch time League yeah well uh we appreciate you guys thank you so much shout out to Corey for joining the program tomorrow we'll be back Wednesdays with John mackar you guys already know what the deal is uh in I King horse really quickly YouTube just having some issues memberships will be back up in October I know it's two months away at this point but uh the fats got us yeah YouTube accusing us of something that we it's just it's ridiculous and YouTube doesn't give out warning sometimes they just they just slap a there's a rumor that we got reported by by some people reported us this a rumor I don't know it is what it is members will be back in October so everything's paused until then so you won't be getting charged for it uh there's no super chats so uh yeah it's all good we're fighting through it we love what we do uh you guys can support us continue to support us by tuning in every single day telling your friends about us buying merchandise and of course uh checking out all our Channel and all our content until tomorrow we we'll catch you guys have a great night stay blessed out there deuces
