touchdown Montana State this team isn't satisfied go cat go Bobcat football is brought to you by Montana State University mountains and L and by First Interstate Bank built for you this is Bobcat pregame it's the first fully official day of college football and Montana state begins 1 and0 as they head out to St George to take on Utah Tech hello everybody my name is Katon gillogly a pleasure to be with you today from the uh First Interstate Bank broadcast position you are listening to the Inner Mountain Health pregame show alongside myself is Daniel stepping up to the booth today Dan Davies is on the sideline it'll join us in just a bit Dylan mcfa is our onsite engineer but uh Daniel how we doing how we feeling it's great to be here great to be back on the airwaves and I'm looking forward to you know offering a little bit of my knowledge on some Bobcat football tonight uh Carol colage will be well represented today with yourself and strength coach Sean Heron is one of our in Mountain Health pregame interviews today we'll of course talk with head coach Brent vegan in just a bit but the Bobcats are coming in at 1 and0 after the thrilling 17-point comeback win at New Mexico in week zero and now today they're hoping to have this game a little bit more in hand they're hoping to go a little bit deeper on the roster and they're trying to repeat the success from last year when they welcomed this Utah Tech team up to Boseman with a 63 to2 win in uh in the Gold Rush Victory so the cats trying to do more of the same today but in the uh Road white uniforms with some gold helmets today and Daniel they're going to be doing it against the Utah Tech team that's going to look a little bit different than they did last year's get into our Mountain hot tub opposing team profile to see why UT Utah Tech is going to be in hot water today Mountain hot tub is Montana's largest hot tub dealer since 1979 you're authorized hot spring spa dealer with locations in Boseman but and Helena all right Daniel what should we know about Utah Tech well Utah Tech I mean the first thing we need to know is that they have a week of film to watch on MSU and they haven't played yet this is their first game they got a first year head coach and Lance Anderson who spent a long time coaching at Stanford on the defensive side of the ball and was the eventually the defensive coordinator and associate head coach for them and uh on their offense you know the quarterback positions a bit of a question mark right now there's Luke mcfa who transferred over from Syracuse and Deacon Hill who might not be a stranger to some football fans out there if you watch the Big 10 he filled in at Iowa down the stretch last season after Cade mcir their starter got hurt so a lot of interesting pieces on this Utah Tech Team coming in by way of the transfer portal under a first year head coach but I think a lot of question marks but like coach vegan said this this week on catchat he would imagine coach Anderson is going to want to build a very physical brand of football much like they had when he was on the staff at Stanford and this is a team that's quite revamped as you mentioned so we'll just kind of see and fly by the seat of your pants and you know we'll see if they can deliver the football around a little bit they will try to run the football a little bit more this year Chris Street is back he didn't run a ton last year uh against Montana State but uh he was second on the team in rush yards Nigel Osborne is back and then they've got a transfer from Mas any F he's supposed to be a pretty darn good tight end at 64240 so they've got a couple of guys there and we'll see if they're able to put that together against this Bobcat defense all right we're going to take a break on the Inner Mountain Health pregame show when we get back we'll take a look around some of the Big Sky scores as we get set for our kickoff as the sun goes down in St George Utah Montana State and Utah Tech are do up tonight you're listening to Bobcat football presented Byfield at Jersey Mike's watching them freshly slice the meat and cheese from my sub is a sight to behold the layers of ham Utah Tech tonight before we talk with strength coach Sean Heron and head coach Bren vegan it's time now to take a look around the rest of the Big Sky presented by Inter Mountain Health got a pretty Full Slate of football today couple of FBS games uh going against some Big Sky opponents as well some of the finals in the books today Cal beat UC Davis out in Berkeley 31-13 UC Davis was hanging tough there for a while that game was tight they were only down by one point going into the second half but Cal pulled away late uh Northern Arizona gets the win against Lincoln 66-6 uh Portland State loses at Washington State 70 to30 they were down 227 after the first quarter in Washington state goes to work and runs away some of the other games in action right now Cal is at San Diego calp trailing 10- nothing early in the second quarter in that one heading toward the end of the first half Idaho they're only down by 14 points at Oregon so number three Oregon leading 14 to nothing against Idaho up up there and then Northern Colorado is at Incarnate Word Incarnate Word is leading that one 21 to7 that game early in the third quarter caret word trying to bounce back they missed the playoffs last year and then Oregon state is uh currently leading Idaho State 24 to9 that's an interesting one for a couple of reasons uh first of all giavanni McCoy the transfer from Idaho is now the starting quarterback at Oregon State he's N9 of 10 through the air for 114 yards Idaho state has run out not one not two but three quarterbacks today Jordan cook was their lead guy last year he's nine of 20 for 71 yards Jackson Sher uh Sharman is the unknown guy he's two of five 12 yards and then Kobe Tracy who transferred from Utah Tech he's gotten into the game he's seven of nine through the air for 84 yards and a touchdown pass and again Oregon State up 31 to9 at the moment all right we're taking take a break on the Inner Mountain Health pregame show coach Sean Heron sideline analyst Dan NorthWestern Energy delivering a bright future we're back on the in Mountain Health pregame show getting set for kickoff between Montana State and Utah Tech I'm Kon glogle alongside now our Hall of Famer our sideline analyst Dan Davies Dan how we doing today happy Saturday atur again yeah doing good can't wait get this second week kicked off yes sir all right well let's quickly jump into our Kendall Ford keys to the game today what are some of the key points you're looking for in this matchup against the Trailblazers tonight well uh to steal an old uh adage with um coaches for years and years and years it's how how much you improve from week one to week two and there's always adjustments to be made and and Coach vegan has uh mentioned all week on some things that they certainly could have done better so it's about how the those guys uh coaches and players adjust to um the things that need to be fixed and uh but the the thing that I was really impressed with last week and I meant to say it earli or last week was how the offensive line did not many false starts or anything that with all that new personnel and that's not an easy thing to do so they need to continue to not have those penalties that um they didn't have last week and that'll be a real key to uh a victory here tonight yeah no doubt and then on top of that you know with the heat and going into the game like this it does sound like they want to try to get a few more guys in because they were some guys that played a lot of snaps last week yeah no question about it and uh the way the game went last year in Boseman U that very well could happen where some guys that twos and threes going to get some turns uh but not until things get under control all right Dan appreciate the time we'll check back in with you again right around kickoff all right thanks Katen all right we'll take a break coming back with more of the Inter Mountain Health pregame show after this we're talking with strength coach Sean we're back on the interner Mountain Health pregame show getting ready for our kickoff for the to of the hour between Montana State and Utah Tech all right up next we're talking to the director of football strength and conditioning Sean Herron well coach how we doing coming off week zero got a finally a chance to see all that hard work play out over the field how do you think the guys performed this we last weekend yeah I mean I think I think it was a great game um obviously there were some highs and some lows uh mostly just coming out of that game feeling proud but also not not surprised um we have a great group of guys especially a great group of senior leadership that has been through a lot and uh you know our resilience and our ability to work through and fight through hard things is something that we talk about all the time and I'm I'm just glad that it actually played out and came to fruition yeah were there any moments where you felt like the things you guys had worked on mentally really showed up during this game to be able to complete that comeback I don't know if there was any specific moment but I think you know when you're in a game like that where you know your spirits could definitely you could find yourself getting down and maybe you know having these negative thoughts into your mind mind I feel like all the training that we had done you know even from the team book study to being exposed to hard situations throughout the summer and understanding that there's always there's always an opportunity to climb back and there's always an opportunity to make a play right every moment counts and so I feel like there wasn't any like halftime would be a scenario right I felt I felt like we were very composed there wasn't any panic I felt like on the sideline there was no Panic whatsoever and and we just kept believing and and that's ultimately what you have that's what great teams do you mentioned the the hard situation so tell me a little bit more about in the in the summer when you guys working with guys and you know so it it truly comes through if you put somebody in a hard situation say running up Pete's Hill that comes through in a game later months later yeah I mean I don't I don't want to sit here and say that look there's never been a strength and conditioning coach that's won a football game um I think that we we won that football game because we have great athletes we have great coaches I think what happens is when you put guys in hard situations whether that's a tough workout um it's a you know it's just anything that's hard ultimately what comes out of finishing that workout is confidence because you probably go into that thing thinking like how the hell am I going to be able to how am I going to be able to survive this thing how am I going to get through this well when you're done then you have you've established this level of confidence like I can do this I can go through hard things and so yeah whether that's us going to a Spartan Race and and doing some hard things definitely on that day or running Pet's Hill um you know perfect shuttles or something that we do it's more about them it's really about confidence honestly it's not about it's not about just doing hard things it's about what's the what do you reap from doing those hard things and that is that level of confidence which I do feel like showed up on Saturday we had confidence in what we were capable of doing no matter what the scoreboard said so uh you you know there's a lot of different good quality motivational sayings I hear these guys say all the time one of my favorites is uh what happens in the dark always comes to light where' that one come from yeah I just think you know as football players you know we get judged based on the the outcome of Saturday right and what a lot of people don't see is all the work and all the preparation that goes in essentially in the dark right when nobody's watching um and if you're not working for it in the dark it shows up in the light right so that that's really where that where that quote comes from um meaning this team is this team has worked like the way we practice the way we train uh the hours they put in in the film room the early mornings all the things that nobody gets to see ultimately that showed up on Saturday right it shows up in one day and so that that's what I love about the game of football is the game of football is about the preparation it's not about the game cuz you prepare so much more than you play you practice so many more hours than you actually play and I just you know this group of guys and this team and this program takes pride in how we do things around here and I think that um ultimately that's why we're able to show up and and you know shine in the light like we did on Saturday did you come up with that quote on your own or did you take that from somebody else oh I steal things from everybody I I I can't claim anything to be mine we all steal stuff all right well let's talk about some of the other work these guys have done you know it's a lot of fun to watch uh the development in this program that's obviously huge piece of it and we've seen it a lot on the offensive line what that offensive line did last weekend was really impressive uh considering how young those guys and all the work they've put in uh so just kind of uh generically when you guys bring in some of these offensive line for that first year or two what are the focuses how do some of these guys build up so much strength you know Conor Moore told us last week he's put on about 70 pounds but feels like he's still 240 what's your guys process to get these guys developing on the offensive line when they first get here from high school yeah you know I think I think initially first of all it starts with recruiting right I think being able to recruit somebody who has the frame to take on 50 60 70 lbs but also you know having the understanding that we got to be athletic you know we don't don't we don't have to be we don't want to be 300 310 and not be able to move so a big you know that's a big emphasis of my program I shouldn't even say it's my program our program as a as a strength and conditioning staff is that we want to be great movers we want to be able to move weights fast we want to be athletic we want to be able to move in multiple directions so I think it's a combination of recruiting It's a combination of probably the methodology that I believe in that helps our offensive line be athletic but ultimately that development comes from the guys they when you get here expectations are so high especially if you're on the offensive line right and so when you mix all three of those when when you mix all three of those things together that's a recipe for forcing you to develop you know right and so I just think ultimately we lay the plan out and and and a lot of that has to do with our support team too right our our dieticians um you know the athletic trainers have to make sure they stay healthy Physical Therapy we got you know Sports psych making sure the guys have the right mindset going into it so it's not just a when when you see a guy develop there's a lot of people that are cogs in that wheel that make it happen but ultimately the athlete has to make the choice and our guys always do that so that's what I'm most proud about all right I want to ask you about a couple of uh individual guys and their growth over the summer and uh you know I want to start with Tommy mot obviously he came in as a freak athlete he is a freak athlete he's done all he's done what were what was your focus with mot this summer to to get him ready to have success this season yeah I think with Tommy really it was it was more about you know making him feel durable right I think he recognizes the importance of staying healthy and so and sometimes in the wait room it's kind of identifying things that are going to are they going to get you better or they not like what's the trade-off what's the risk ver reward so really it was about being smart with him and almost almost treating him a little bit like a running back SL pitcher right so obviously if you looked at how a pitcher in the in the Major League trains they certainly don't train like a running back so there's a little bit of difference there but um just being smart with him and also him being smart and because he's a he's a very driven guy and he wants to be the best at everything he does and sometimes that means you have to reel him back a little bit like hey we don't really need to go after this this heavy clean I know you want to but we got we got to be smart right so um and just working on his rotational mechanics a little bit more um not nothing really changed with him though you know I think for him it was just about correcting the things he felt like he needed to improve upon last year from a physical standpoint I mean I know he's in great shape uh this year so um I just feel like he knows what he needs and I'm just here to kind of help guide him and give him the best advice I can Adam Jones second year in the program obviously a massive game on Saturday what was his growth physically over the last 12 months oh Adam has been incredible I mean he especially for a young guy his maturity level coming in I mean I I identified right away that this is going to be a guy who's going to be a contributor for us early on he's always in the weight room taking care of his body doing extra work all of last year he's in there doing extra work on top of being you know a scout team guy for us and um I knew we were going to see special things from him and and for him to be able to make that play and most importantly not get hawked down right as as the strength and conditioning coach that's the thing you want to make sure hey did we get these guys fast and most of the time if you get hawked down I'm going to find you and give you a little bit of crap about it and I'm just glad he was able to cap that thing off but he's he's got a bright future a lot of people have talked about Marcus Weir he's gotten a lot of national press from your perspective what makes him such a great athlete and what impresses you yeah Marcus has been special ever since I got here I mean even when he was 250b he was super explosive super strong um you know you would you would think for a guy who you know once moving over to the offensive line and needing to put some weight on that he would lose some of that and he hasn't and I think part of that has been his uh ability to eat clean train hard take care of his body um but Mo all all that all of the development of Marcus wear has come from Marcus wear I mean he's been driven ever since the day I got here I mean I can remember us having conversations in my office about you know being frustrated with how it was going at defensive line and just trying to keep him motivated and and you know he he just has that's what he's done you know he he never let it get he never let it bother him he switched positions and a lot of people would be very you know skeptical or hesitant to switch positions he switched positions and felt like he had new life and he's taken advantage of every single day since then and that's why he is where he's at uh Andrew powo looks like he's really bulked up how's he come along over the last year yeah he's put on he's put on some good weight I mean Andrew pwell is a freak like you know in terms of pound-for-pound strongest guy on the team um he's done a good job of you know getting up getting his body weight up um and I mean he he's gotten faster so he you know he's he's been doing great things for us he's a guy that's got a really really bright future but in all in all honesty he came to me as a freak I just got to make sure I don't mess that thing up so uh finally any other names of guys who've maybe uh had a really big jump over the last few months that that people aren't talking about that we should have on our radar you know I I think um Titan Flashman is probably a guy that a lot of people don't understand his story and I'm really proud of him because he's a guy who you know his first year had to go through two shoulder surgeries two massive shoulder surgeries and he had to do one before the other so he had to do one recover from the other one and then get the other one done so he was completely out for a whole calendar year with those two shoulders the next year he comes back and he has a knee injury and then you know we have a we have a a setback coming off surgery from that so he misses two full years of football and now he got to go out there and start at right tackle and and play really really well and and in all those two years where he was down and out from those injuries his attitude he had a smile on his face he was attacking every single day never once was he down in the dumps just his approach I just you know I wish other people could have seen what I got to see from him I'm really really proud of him well that's why we talked to you because you can bring the light to that Darkness coach appreciate the time of the Insight appreciate it thank you very much I appreciate coach Sean Heron for his time and insight today today we're taking a break when we come back we'll have an opportunity to sit down with head coach Brent vegan as we get ready for the kickoff at the top of the hour you're listening to bcat football presented by learfield are you looking to bring your Fitness to the raising the door on quality your Regent's only Premier authorized rer dealer back on The Inter Mountain Health pregame show Montana State and Utah Tech getting ready to square off in week one game two I'm Kon gley alongside head coach Brent vegan and uh coach tell us a little bit about just the emotion how the guys have handled practice this week obviously that was a lot last week but how do the guys spond getting into practice this week I think quite well uh you know I think any game like that um where you do win and there's a real uh sense of achievement but you still know there's a lot of things to improve upon and you have a relatively mature team that recognizes that I I do think our guys went back to work really on Monday and uh had a good week of practice and you know it's another week of of unknown with with Utah Tech but uh excited to get you know the second opportunity to play and really you know we're looking for that game one to game two Improvement really show up um tonight uh the offensive line going to roll the same five out here today yeah yeah we're we're getting closer with some of those guys coming back but uh you know right now it's the the way we went last week and and fortunately you know looking back at last week we didn't we didn't really lose anything um as far as starters go Elijah Elliott's going to be out for you know the next few games but but otherwise we got through that game relatively healthy one guy we really haven't talked about much with Cedric Jefferson his performance at left tackle last last week he's a red shirt freshman uh what's some of of his backstory and what did he do to get himself in a position to contribute last week well uh Cedric was uh you know I think on the recruiting side of things a really good get for us out of the Tula area a few years back and you know last year we felt like uh as a true freshman um was a guy that uh you know had had a lot of the tools he he he had a chance to to travel and and and was I guess up with the offense uh a good portion of the season um and felt like he was one of those guys that as we went through the spring would be knock from the door and then the way things played out uh you know getting him in there sliding Connor in the guard was the the best move for us and it felt like uh you know Cedric really played well you know for it being his first game um on the kind of the stage it was on uh one of the fun things watching last week was Kaden dor and his versatility bounc between safety and niichel you got him listed as a starting safety this week but uh what are some of his skills and why can he handle that type of Versatility even Within game to uh you know series to Series in a game I think it's twofold uh it's it's athleticism you know that the diversity that uh those safety positions hold they're not all the same uh and athletically you need some you know you need a guy that's got some size got the the ability to play you know near the line of scrimmage but then you all also have to range and Kaden possesses all of that and then you got to be smart and I think kad's a really smart football player um understanding two different positions isn't for everybody but uh I think as we've gone through fall camp we had Kaden train to play a couple different positions if uh if that's the way it shook out and that's the the way it did so you know we'll be rolling him I think primarily at free safety this week but he does poss possess that ability to play nickel and he play strong safety for that matter uh one other guy we didn't really talk about much this week was Ryan Lan really big contributor trying to block for the Run game what have you seen in his impact we're not always going to see those stats as fans so what are you seeing in Lan's impact ah real good game you know I think last year when Ryan came in uh is derck now went down I think he he got his first taste and and and and did pretty well with it and and you know had an offseason to to heal up he didn't go through Spring ball um but had a really good summer and then I think it's followed up with a fall where you know uh for Ryan he's a senior now um ups and downs injury-wise through his career but I think he's bound and determined to have his very best year his most impactful year and it was sure a great start to that season last week now if you get into a time and score situation over the next couple of weeks where you get a chance to play some of the second and third level guys are there any names that maybe Bobcat fans should be excited about they haven't really seen out there yet but somebody who's been really pushing the envelope to make an impact well I hope just generally we can play more guys I I think that's a you know that's as coaches we got to be able to trust more guys so I I think as the flow of the game happens I think more guys are playing anyways but you know I I think you know quarterback wise yes we would love to get uh Jordan Reed you know and and chance Wilson potentially out there at at some point I I know um you know flipping it over to to defense we got to get more play out of our our backup linebackers Bryce we played three plays um but I know that's a name we've continued to talk about and that that role needs to continue for for him um you know I I think you know o line right now we're probably in the place we're in but I I would love for us to see okay what can every car out of Boseman do um you know maybe some more Ezekiel transfers from North Texas those two those two guys in particular will factor in at some point so to get some game action for them in the short term would be great all right let's take a look at this Utah Tech Team this is team that's only been division one now for 5 Years first time they're postseason eligible but when you do look at this program it seems like they've got some resources in kind of a recruiting area uh where they could potentially be a quality FCS team down the road is that what you're seeing when you look at this program yeah they made the determination to move up um and and not do that half-heartedly I don't think that's the way you can do anything and um you know uh the last coaching staff took them through that transition and I I'm sure there were some some growing pains with that um but now you know they are and and yes they do they do they they're in a good spot I guess just you know relative to population whether it's Vegas whether it's Phoenix whether it's Southern California um you know pretty accessible at the same time and I've never been there but I you know from the way it looks on film and the photos you know it looks all right so I guess we'll get a firsthand look at that so yeah I think uh their intent is to to go after it and um you know games like this playing teams like us is is a big piece to that puzzle so uh we got we got to play well cuz I know they're going to be geared up to play us yeah on the offensive end for them how much familiarity do you feel like you were able to get or you really kind of going in pretty dark on what they're going to be doing offensively well I think we can look at okay coordinator came from Southeast Southeast Louisiana so we can we can look at that a little bit I think quarterback wise though that doesn't necessarily mesh with um what they did there so I think that's the complicating part okay if if Deacon Hill is going to be their quarterback uh he's got a certain skill set he can really throw it um and he has there's plenty of film from him playing at Iowa last year and you know if someone else plays then they lean a little bit more to what they did at Southeast Louisiana so I think offensively it's a little bit of a guessing game defensively I think you you certainly look at what Co coach Anderson did at Stanford um but again Personnel wise a little bit different makeup with her Personnel right now than than Stanford so I I think it's a little bit of a guessing guessing game we certainly have some ideas but uh ultimately again we just got to go out and play and then be able to adjust as that game goes on all right coach appreciate the time of the Insight good luck tonight all right thanks a lot go cats we'll take a break when we come back we'll get into the two deep before we get to our kickoff between Montana State and Utah glogle up in the First Interstate Bank broadcast position the rest of our broadcast team we'll join us here in just a moment but first uh time now to take a look around at the the two deep for these two teams and take a look at some of the starters first for Montana State the starting offense today looking like this Tommy mot back at the quarterback position after leading the come from behind game-winning Drive last week Scott Trey Humphrey was the man who scored the game-winning touchdown he's back in as the starting running back the wide receivers are Tai Mulla Taco doar Lata Alexander Jr and then it's Ryan Lan at the tight end position for man T State of course we'll see Rohan Jones as a fullback tight end specialist as well and the offensive line looks the same with Cedric Jefferson at left tackle Conor Moore at left guard Cole s at Center Marcus wear at Right Guard and Titan Flashman at right tackle and then brenon Hall is going to be uh doing the kickoffs and we'll see mil sandstead today with the place kicking and of course brenon Hall the punter Tommy Sullivan The Long Snapper and mil sandstead is the holder today defensively for the Bobcats we'll see Kenneth Iden Alec eert Blake Schmidt and Brody greby on the defensive line M O'Reilly and Danny Lou lppa as the linebackers miles Jackson is the nickel your Corners are Simeon Woodard and John Johnson along with Andrew powo and takari Carr who will get into it and then Ryan or starting at strong safety and Kaden doler starting at free safety for Montana state for Utah Tech today and we'll see what they do at the quarterback position sounds like they might play three different guys According to some of their people today uh Deacon Hill Luke mcf the big FBS transfers we'll definitely see both of them sounds like Hill will be the first guy out and then Reggie graph the local product who is a guy who has uh great athleticism and skill we might see him as well Chris Street is the running back today true Tanner Daniel Thompson and Bryce Parker are the starting wide receivers at the tight end posess POS uh position anny fi is uh is there at 64240 and then their offensive line beo Ki Chase Reynolds at the left tackle and left guard positions Nolan Reynolds is the center Bryce Crowley is the Right Guard and uh Rambo maio uh is the right tackle for uh for this offense of Utah Tech on the other side defensively John sniffin is the defensive end at the nose tackle position it's uh Leighton tanuvasa and then there defensive end on the other side is Micah vuki they uh they run four linebackers out there so we'll see on the outside will Alo Al laa and then also fiser Jackson and then in the middle Jared fotu who whose father played here at Montana State and then Spencer rich as well their safeties are Jagger Williams and Brevin Hamlin and then their cornerbacks are scooter Jackson and Jaden Sheridan so that's what we're looking at for their defensive lineup today Utah Tech has their band and the cheerleaders out on the field the sun is getting ready to set and we are almost ready for our kickoff off today all right we're taking another break and when we get back we'll be ready to lead kickoff is Just moment it's away from the First Interstate Bank broadcast Booth here's the voice of the Bobcats Katon googi Bo it wasn't perfect but it sure was fun last week and now Montana state looks to try to keep this thing rolling as they head into week one game two on the road at Utah Tech tonight it's the Montana State University Bobcats coming in at 1 and0 and on the other side it's the Utah Tech Trailblazers who begin their season tonight at home here in St George at greater Zion Stadium I'm Katon Google alongside Daniel Sally up in the First Interstate Bank broadcast Booth report today 94° partly cloudy skies the sun is uh heading downward right now so this game will be primarily a night game today and uh it is almost completely gone from the sky but uh it's been hot I mean hot hot all day long up over 100 degrees it's a dry heat but that doesn't really change anything when it's over 100 degrees and that's part of the reason this game is being played late tonight and now down on the field even though it's in the mid 90s it's uh fairly comfortable as we get ready for our kickoff coming up here in just a bit for over 20 years Montana's ribbon shop house has embodied Rocky Mountain Hospitality we prioritize loyalty safety service and quality food to grow and serve our communities join us at our Montana locations and experience our genuine Hospitality firsthand all right uh we're up again in the first interstate BK broadcast Booth Montana State and Utah Tech just about ready to go the national anthem just wrapping up now now and uh all right Daniel here we go man this is a big ball game for Montana State not only are they trying to start 2-0 on the road before they return home for Gold Rush next week they're hoping to really kind of take control over this uh over this game today so that they get a chance to go a little bit deeper into the into the roster today yeah absolutely and I'm really excited to see kind of how they build off of their performance uh last week and you know on the offensive end getting going in the second half it was really fun to see the juice squad or the running back room as depending on how you look at him get going with Adam Jones and Scott Dre Humphrey and I know we were the only Big Sky Team to play last week but Adam Jones performance would have been worthy of a Big Sky player of the week uh nomination regardless because he was fantastic in that 93 yard touchdown really proved to loom large in that comeback win against the Lobos but you know with the new offensive coordinator Tyler Walker it you could tell last week that this is still a run first team but there was a real emphasis on them getting going in the passing game and I thought you know he had the the two fumbles but I thought Tommy mot threw the ball really well last week as well going 21 of 32 and correct me if I'm wrong but a career high in completions for him as well it was it was a career high in completions a career high in attempts as well and he did orchestrate that game-winning drive down the stretch last week all right let's pause 10 seconds for our Network station identification you're listening to Montana State football XL country 100.7 k xlb Churchill Boseman Belgrade also in Livingston on translator k254 I'm Kon GLE alongside Daniel Sally Dan Davies is down the sideline we'll check in with him in a bit and Dylan mcfa is our on-site engineer today getting ready to go Bobcats are out on the field Utah Tech is about to take the field as well they are running out underneath us out of the locker room they've got a couple of their big flags as they head out and they've got Brooks the Bison leading them out as well they're the Trailblazers but a lot of their logos are kind of like a bison they've got a pretty good logo with that bison head kind of running forward they've got their uh mascot out in front of the student section which has some fireworks and some smoke machines going off behind it it's a a student section behind the endzone to our left that's pretty filled up out there they were actually lined up well before the game Daniel I mean they they got a nice uh student following here yeah clearly a lot of Buzz around this season opening football game and night game as well and so they were able to pile it in and uh really impressed by the crowd uh that's trickling in here both from the home fans and from the visiting fans yeah they uh they can seeed up over 10,000 in this Stadium which was built back in 1985 but has been since renovated most recently in 2017 and so it's pretty uh well renovated pretty clean pretty comfortable up here so kind of a a nice spot and uh they're trying to get things going it's their fifth year at the division one level uh it's the first time they are now uh actually eligible for postseason play now whether they get there or not is a different story but they're playing in the UAC the United Athletic Conference which is a combination of two different conferences most of their teams play in the whack but they're trying to get things going and they're trying to do it under new head coach Lance Anderson his first year after he replaces Paul Peterson who had been here for five years and for Anderson a long time at Stanford he spent more than half of his almost 30 years as a coach at Stanford last year he was at Boise State and now he is here and for the first time as a head coach and he's got a lot of new guys and uh it's kind of a very similar script that we're talking about from the New Mexico game where they had a new head coach and a lot of new players and now it's the same thing here against Utah Tech so for the cats kind of got to just read and react here yeah absolutely you got to read and react and I think you got to expect Utah Tech to come out with a lot of energy playing for a head coach in his first game that's a lot of work put in since he got here through Spring ball through the summer a lot of pent up energy and they're going to be excited to run around and play against someone else for the first time all year keeping an eye on the out of town scoreboard Idaho at number three Oregon right now trailing 14-7 about four minutes to go in the third quarter Idaho just uh just scored they had a big play a 36-yard uh uh play to score on a touchdown pass from their new quarterback Jack Lane so uh they're doing some good things over there right now they got a fourth down stop against Oregon which led to that score Oregon has the football now but keeping an eye on that and overall we're seeing some uh pretty good performances here and there both from some FCS schools and uh from the Big Sky Team today as well Oregon State right now and Idaho state are going at it Oregon State up 3815 late in that game that's not too shabby there Montana trailing Missouri State at home 106 early in the second quarter and uh UC Davis was tight with Cal earlier today but they ended up losing 31-13 all right just about ready to rock and it looks like Utah Tech will be kicking off from right to left they are wearing their red uniforms with blue and white trim around the shoulders and a UT written in white on the left side of their red helmets as they get ready to kick off from right to left Montana state in the navy blue pants they wear their white jerseys with the navy blue numbers outlined in Gold Montana State written across the chest and they've got the uh number or the trim on the side that is blue and gold and they are wearing their gold helmets today with the white block Elm M we are ready to go the right footed kick is is due from right to left it is in the air toward the end zone Taco dollar is back and he lets it go over his head and it is out of bounds it is a Touchback to begin the day so the Bobcats will head out of the field for the first time now for their first possession Tommy bot will lead them out once again and for bot coming off a beautiful performance 21 of 32 two touchdowns no interceptions 205 yards we'll see what he can do today as he spreads it around and we'll see how deep they can go in the running back room today as well wouldn't be surprised if we see some white out there this afternoon yeah absolutely I think that this running back room is deep there's a lot of people on this team who can carry the Rock and they got a great o line to lead the way so I'd expect to see the same Scott Trey Humphrey is out there with Tommy mot same starting five from last week so first or second starts rather for Cedric Jefferson and Titan fleshman the two tackles for Montana State four wide receivers two to the left two to the right as The Catch start at the 25 yard line of the left hash mark snap to mot he looks to throw fires to the left sideline It's Quickly caught there by Latta Alexander Jr he tiptoes out of bounds after a 5yd gain up to the 30 yd line and the cats have second and five they're not afraid to get going in the quick game when they're passing the ball and they see the DB's line up off the ball a little bit might as well take advantage that was the same play we saw them run multiple times during their uh game-winning Drive last week and Donata Alexander Jr was a big part of that hauling in five catches for 58 yards in the victory Montana State driving from left to right the officials seem to be communicating something here they want a new football also for Tommy one of the things he was talking about uh last week his hands were just really sweaty part of the reason he had some issue holding on to the football at times he had the two fumbles today he does have a pair of white wrist Brands around each wrist at the moment so we'll see if that makes a difference on another warm night here's the snap turns right hands it off Humphrey hits the middle of the line he falls forward for a gain of three and that'll bring up third and two for the Bobcat offense of the left hashmark and something we saw there is use of pre- snap motion right there with Taco doer coming across the formation we know he's a threat to pop a big play so it's something another way to keep the defense honest we saw a lot of that last week as well third and short for the Bobcats from the left hash mark up the 33 yd line mot wants to make a change he looks over to his left sideline sea Chambers is there with a few of the other offensive analysts making the signals he's got Trey Humphrey on his right hip two receivers to the right two to the left for the Bobcat offense mot Hands Held at chest High takes the snap from Kain fires no he pump fake rolling out to his left he throws that pass was tipped and incomplete little pressure in the back field that time by Fisher Jack Jackson one of the outside linebackers the cats unable to convert on Third and short and then bring out Brendan Hall who had a massive week last week with some big punts he only punted twice both of them landed inside the 20 yd line he can really knock it back there so looking forward to seeing him flip the field so Brendan Hall getting ready to boot it away from left to right on the left hash mark Utah Tech prepared to return the football now Jamar Garrett is is back in the middle of the field at the 20 yd line Tommy Sullivan snaps it catch is made Hall steps into it with a right footed kick and overend back at the 20 yd line he's going to let it bounce at the 25 kicks in the air and it's caught by Marquee Johnson at the 20 yd line so another nice kick that time by Brendan Hall Utah Tech getting ready to head out onto the field no score 13 minutes 35 seconds to go in the first quarter and Utah Tech ready to get their first opportunity offensively here and just like last year when Utah Tech came up to Montana State questions at the quarterback position and it's Deacon Hill the Iowa Transfer who started his career at Wisconsin he's in there to start things he is a big big man in the back field yeah 64 258 listed on the on the roster here and uh he shows every ounce of it Chris Street is his running back who is spread out to the right side now he takes the snap Hill looks to throw steps up in clean pocket now pump fake throws and it's caught but a quick tackle Danny Lou lppa is there a no over on the right side as he just tossed it into the flat that was the tight end who made the catch but no game second down they're wasting no time either actually was a one yard loss and a false start they got going too early miscommunication on that snap and with that false snart that'll back him up another five yards well Daniel Lou lppe he's a real tone Setter for this defense and made a statement there opening play flying downhill to make a play so the Fall start back them up five yards they going backwards on the first two plays Daniel L lppa and Melo Radley played all but three snaps together in that game last week Bryce gy only got in for three plays but he had two tackles second down snap Hill to throw air mails his man on the right sideline out of bounds off onto the track they have behind the Bobcat sideline that way and quickly it's third and 16 with Utah Tech backed up at their own 15 yard line well they got the big arm quarterback to throw it past the chains if they want to so it's going to be up to MSU to to cover here and hopefully early in the game today can avoid some uh uh penalties in the secondary well they got their Speed Line in defensively now for Montana state from left to right it's grey Parsons Iden and Cruz here's the snap Hill throws into the flat on the right side caught outside the numbers at the 15 yd line diving forward to the 20 yard line John Johnson was there upending the running back for the tackle that was chamar Garrett with the catch and run and a quick three and out converted by the Bobcat defense Utah Tech Will punt it away from right to left Andy day on his way out they played it safe there threw it short and John Johnson great job getting off his block on the sideline flying downhill to get to the ball yeah when you're when you're cornerbacks can tackle cleanly that really shes some things up open field tackling is an art Taco doer back to receive the punt here's the snap right footed punt with a spiral toward the 40 3530 Taco dollar backing up makes the catch at the 25 trying to reverse Direction makes one man miss trying to cut it to the right side nowhere to go tackled at the 23 yd line not much of a return for doler the Bobcats will start backed up in their own territory 12 minutes 17 seconds to go in the first quarter Montana State and Utah Tech are score list we're taking a break you're list to Bobcat football presented by Layfield no matter how you may go there's always one just down the road down PP it up it town of mfbf broadcast Booth we remind you that at Firehouse Subs a portion of every purchase helps provide much needed life-saving equipment to First Responders across the country that's why at Firehouse Subs they might make their subs differently because their subs can make a difference couple of three and outs on both sides the bcats getting their second possession now and they will go to work around their own 20 yd line counted as the 23 yd line with the sun setting and the lights on they only have four lights stanions here it actually could be a little bit dark down there you see some really yeah you see some Long Shadows would not be surprised if we see some funky things happen with the ball in the air absolutely you know those nighttime games you never know two receivers left one to the right that's Alexander he got Trey Humphrey behind Tommy mot who's under Center Dollar in motion left to right the snap they hand it off Humphrey trying to probe he finds room through the middle to the 30 outside the hash mark tackled down shy of the 35 picks up the first down he got got Trey Humphrey with his first big gash today trying to follow up the big performance last week and the three touchdown performance he had against Utah Tech in Gold Rush last year that's fantastic work by the MSU offensive line that's an eight-man box they just ran into for an easy first down Marcus Weir was a star performer on that offensive line at the right guard position last week pistol formation on the right hash mark with a first down for the Bobcat offense at the 33 yd line Humphrey still in there as the running back daller and caller spread out to the right side one receiver to the left snap turns right hands it off Humphrey hits the line of scrimmage and he is Bal three red jerseys were there and a big stop still ended up picking up two yards which tells you the old line moves some guys but just a two- yard gain that'll bring up second eight and Utah Tech not a lot of coverage deep early in this ball game don't be surprised if we see a attempt at a shot play here soon because they know MSU wants to run the ball and they're going to try and stop that at some point they will probably look to take the top off now trying to establish that ground game Montana State taking their time as we tick under 11 minutes to go in the first quarter no score between Montana State Utah Tech here's Adam Jones getting his first taste of the day the Big Sky player of the week two receivers left one to the right the snap and Milan who keeps it he runs up the middle at the 40 and takes a pop there Falls forward up to the 42 yd line one yard shy of the first down marker make it third and one so the RPO and uh it was mot who decided to run it up the middle yeah great read by Tommy there the left tackle kicked out the defensive end and instead of handing it off to Adam Jones to run to a clogged sideline he took it right through the Gap in a sizable game Rohan Jones off the field Ryland schlep in as one of the two tight ends he's on the right side Ryan Lan lined up on the left side third and one in the middle of the field Adam Jones the running back Tommy mot is under Center Mulla and Alexander are the wide receivers mot takes the snap turns right hands it off Adam Jones has the first down he's met by a linebacker at the 45 yd line and stopped there picks up the first down the mark and his forward progress did take him up to the 46 yd line and a nice first level hole Yeah six guys on the line of scrimmage that time for Utah Tech and with five Linen in a tight end all you got to do is get a hat on a hat and hope that Adam Jones can beat the linebacker he did they moved the chains Aiden garrian Ryan King into the ball game now Ryan King in his Bobcat debut last week had one catch for nine yards the Eastern Carolina trans who started his career at Georgia Tech gotot Trey Humphrey back in at running back as well first and 10 for the Bobcats of the 46 snap mot hands it off dor moving to his left probin trying to get to the edge turns up field gets to the 50 yard line and he's in to Utah Tech territory as he gets bumped out of bounds out to the 48 so cats in plus territory Taco doar on the end of round and it'll be second manageable for the Bobcat offense great patience there by Taco doer as you work towards the sidelines and a tip of the cap to Ryan Lan holding his block on the outside there allowing taco to get around and or get gain some yards there H's been really really good helping to block for this Run game for the Bobcats he's over on the right side of the line now two receivers right one to the left garan in motion stops on the right side here's the snap they hand it off Humphrey trying to get to the outside and does the 45 with a stiff arm he's down the left sideline to the 30 he gets into one man and gets pushed out of bounds out at the 25 yd line but we do have a flag on the play that was a big stiff arm by Scott Trey Humphrey let's see what the flag is though I think they're going to get Jefferson for a hold there but could be wrong yeah potentially that did help spring The Edge there now the wide receiver Ryan King holding on the outside Bobcat fans when you buy Bobcat products at MSU Bookstore you help lower the price of course materials for Montana State students shop online at Bobcat Stadium or on campus MSU Bookstore is your Bobcat gear headquarters 8 45 to go with the clock running in the first quarter Montana State Utah Tech are scoreless bobcats on their second Drive of the game now picked up a couple of first downs here they work on at second and four give out for the holding penalty shotgun snap handed off Humphrey bouncing it to the outside gets to the 45 and bowls forward to the 40 yd line inside the numbers left side first down first inter state bank first down for the Bobcats and Scott Trey Humphrey continuing to lean on this Utah Tech defense he's going to head off the field and Adam Jones is heading back out there now hand off to Scott Tre Humphrey right off the left side once again this time he takes that inside hip of Cedric Jefferson Springs him loose for a first down bomb catch primarily rushing the football right now they've only attempted two passes and they have one completion two receivers left one to the right doler motioning from left to right Adam Jones in at the running back positions the cats are in plus territory up at the 40 yd line with a first down the snap mot to throw over the middle and and incomplete intended for taco doar and tight coverage that time on the right side yeah that was cover one manto man and tried to attack the the slot corner and he just made a really nice play on the ball that time that stops the clock at 7:46 in the first quarter second and 10 for Montana State's offense they taking their time and just working that clock one receiver to the left two to the right Rohan Jones tight to the line of the right side Adam Jones is the running back snap to aot hands it off Jones probing up the middle he's threw at the 3530 bouncing it outside outside the numbers of the left sideline and he's Twisted out of bounds inside the 25 at the 24 but there is a flag back of the Bobcat backfield and we'll see what the call is there's already been one holding and another Marcus wear well they had numbers there too the blitz was coming from the opposite side and unfortunate that they get another penalty there set them back on this drive cuz when they haven't been getting penalized they've been rolling down the field so this will back Montana State up to the 50 yd line that makes it second and 20 after that hole in the backfield cats behind the chains here also into the ball game now is Dane steel making his Collegiate debut snap hands off Adam Jones through the line of scrimmage Falls forward to the 45 give him the 44 6yd gain by Adam Jones clock running at the seven minute Mark of the first quarter still third and long for Montana State third and 14 here on the left hash mark it looks like Jared White's coming on in as well Jared white did get into the game but did not have any carries last week he did have a big performance against Utah Tech last year he had a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in the big victory by the Bobcats one receiver left three to the right third and 14 for the Bobcat offense snap to mot fakes the hand off throws to Dollar on a screen on the right side up the right hash mark to the 40 yd line he's tackled from behind at the 39 yd line and that'll bring up fourth down and we'll see what the Bobcat offense wants to do here they are sending the punt unit out looked like there was a little bit of a question but Tommy Sullivan and crew are on their way out and Brandon Hall looks to uh show off the coffin corner again yeah he's got a got real good field position right now to drop one in there but easier said than done obviously he's been pretty impressive particularly last year now let's see what he can do with this little Chip Shot of a punt break out the sandwi yeah line it up on the right hash mark here return man's back at the 10 snap waist high right footed kick very high Punt and it drops at the T takes a Utah Tech bounce to the 15 and stopped at about the 16 yd line that thing was an absolute skyscraper all right we're taking a break 5 minutes 41 seconds to go in the first quarter Montana State and Utah Tech are scoreless you're listening to Bobcat football presented by learfield Bobcat fans support both your favorite team position Montana State and Utah Tech are scoreless Utah Tech getting ready to take over offensively at their own 16 yd line with 541 to go in the first quarter far Daniel the bcat offense they have had a couple of movements here but for the first time we're seeing some M spakes by that offensive line yeah those those holding penalties didn't do them any favors on the last drive and I thought they really did run the ball effectively but when you get brought back to about second and 17 you know that running the ball isn't going to take you only so far unless you pop one to the end zone and so there they found themselves behind behind the chains and they're going to have to find a way to stay ahead of them moving forward Utah Tech going to work Deacon Hill the quarterback takes the snap he hands it off and around to the left side o quick Tackle by Andrew Powell no gain on the play that is a beautiful tackle love the energy from the defense out of the gate here P has really gained a lot of weight he could be a serious weapon for the Bobcats is a true sophomore he's a fun one to watch in that secondary he can really fly around and like you said now beefed up a little more and he can uh lay the wood that was a tight end he just took down he's given up something like 60 lbs in that matchup here's the snap Wildcat rolling out to his left to the 20 stopped oh fumble but it goes out of bounds shy of the 25 yd line that was Reggie grath so he's the third quarterback for Utah Tech he's from St George he's from here it's his first career game and he was a guy who put up star numbers here in St George senior year alone 2300 passing yards 1,200 rushing yards and he had over 40 touchdowns through the air and on the ground it's pretty impressive and as this game goes on and they get more of a read on you know what kind of skill set he has that will be a dead giveaway that they're probably using him in the Run game Deacon Hill back in there now empty backfield two men to the left three bunch to the right it's third and three Utah Tech looking for their first first down of the game and now we've got a whistle play clock wind down or they call it timeout yeah it should be play clock but yep delay game oh no they got it before okay that's a big timeout to use as well cuz otherwise that would have bumped him way back and that will take us to a pause in the action 432 to go in the first quarter Montana State and Utah Tech are score list you're listen to Bobcat football presented by learfield ready to build your brand in ink outside the box for your complete come first it's third and three for Utah Tech 432 to go in the first quarter no score and Utah Tech just had to use a timeout to avoid a a delay there yeah and a good call honestly they this is a really not easy third down there's no such thing but a really short third down about three yards to go and there's a lot or large difference between three yards and eight yards when you're looking at the chains Utah Tech looking for their first first down of the day Hill under Center takes the snap rolling out on play action he's wrapped up as he throws the football away incomplete with a receiver in the area and it was Alec eert who was there who was able to get two Ms on him and the cats able to get a third down stop Utah Tech Will punt it away and a nice job by Alec eert the first year Bobcat to get back there nicely done by the defensive line there getting some pressure on and I like the idea by Utah Tech to try and get the quarterback out in space and dump one out towards the sideline but they didn't get the time to do it and that's all because the defensive line so Utah check will punt it away here's the snap right footed kick is in the air Taco doar makes the catch shy of the 40 he runs left he's got room with the 4550 doar to the numbers at the 4540 he's down the left sideline at the 30 2520 Dollar Cuts back inside at the 10 and he's tackled there Taco dollar an electric return inside the 10 yd line and it all starts out there with I believe uh Andrew Powell on the Block first off and it sprung him loose and he was able to just follow that picket fence down the left side of the field Ryland ort with another big block and not quite able to get into the end zone but close enough and with the way this offense has been able to move the ball so far uh L 10 11 yards a field position right here is uh very beneficial so Taco doers for first big Return of the season for Montana State exciting to see as Montana state will take over at the 10 yd line of Utah Tech both teams huddle up here momentarily but they're heading out onto the field now and let's see if Montana State can punch this thing thing in for their first Town Pump touchdown of the day two receivers out to the left side one to the right it's McCulla to the right steel and Alexander to the left it's got Trey Humphrey in the running back next to Tommy mot Steel in motion from left to right Cole ready to snap it first Alexander in motion stops comes back to the left snap they hand it off Humphrey up the middle inside the 10 yd line and runs into the wall of linebackers picks up about three yards so Mark the cats down at the seven yd line and that'll bring up second down and a jagger Williams the safety he's really doing a good job getting his nose in the Run game Flying downhill he's the safety start 10 games last year one of the few returners for Utah Tech clock running down to the 340 Mark in the first quarter no score between Montana State and Utah Tech got Trey Humphrey in the back field along with Tommy mot bob cat trying to punch this thing in second and goal to go from the seven the snap mot to throw clean pocket pump fake now rolls out to his left flag is thrown mot shuffles inside and Dives forward across the five yard line down to the three but again a flag it Bobcat backfield hopefully not another holding penalty out that time it was Cole sa that's brutal right there I mean you're you're within seven yards of the end zone and now you're going to be moving back another 10 with gold to go not ideal Idaho right now down 1714 at Oregon with 10 minutes to go in the fourth quarter it's interesting very interesting here they just had a six Place 75 yd Drive Jack Lane he had a couple of late starts last year McCoy was a little bit banged up but here's a former walkon he's the guy now second and goal to go from the 17 after the hold by Montana state had three or four of those already in the first quarter no score the snap they hand it off Adam Jones working the outside gets the 1510 five angling the pylon he Dives forward and he is into the end zone touchdown MSU Adam Jones from 17 yds out weaves his way to the left pile on for the score ryland's flep right there took his Defender almost all the way to the sideline to set that up and just an incredible job blocking by the tight end Conor Moore was helping him out as well sealing that edge they are going to review it as Adam Jones was diving toward that pylon to make sure his knee didn't come down before any part of the football cross the plane and so we will see as they take a look here at the monitor Boseman Health doesn't want you to have an injury timeout a primary care provider helps keep you healthy and in the game visit bosan health.org today find a primary care provider in Belgrade Big Sky or Boseman your care is our purpose so we don't uh have a look of any replays at the moment they're not playing anything up on the video board so we'll see uh what this becomes but either way it was a nice r run by Adam Jones and man you really saw some guys move with that offensive line in Ryland schle absolutely and especially coming off of the holding call you know in need of a big game there and at the end of the day they're they're in pretty good field goal range but you want to get as close as you can and touchdowns are obviously worth more so for Adam Jones to to get out there and if he doesn't get in at least get them within inches of being in that's great start great bounce back from a penalty as well for Adam Jones potentially his third touchdown of his career and already potentially the second of the Season as the officials continue to take a look here at the at the monitor to check see if he got in or not and now they have made a decision we're going to get the call all right they're going to say he was down at the one yd line to making a 16 yd run that makes it third and one or third and goal to go from the one in fact prob less than a yard right now that football is on the inside of the one yd line and they got Adam Jones back out there so hopefully he can finish the job it's the way you do it right let the man finish it pistol formation of the left hash mark So after review they take the touchdown off the board still scoreless late in the first quar at the 245 Mark with the clock running third and goal to go from inside the one yd line vot takes the snap turns right hands it off Adam Jones strolls into the end zone touchdown MSU now Adam Jones able to complete it and Montana State able to score their first down pump touchdown of the day I love that for Adam Jones again a great play to help set that up they take it off the board so he goes right back out there and finds six points and uh you know it's nice to see him also get a one- yard touchdown we had the 93 yard touchdown last week and of course last year his first career carry was a 49 yard touchdown so just a nice normal length of a touchdown for Adam Jones he can do it all mil sandstead is out there now looking to go to six and six in Pats if he can convert the snap by meot or excuse me by different Tommy by Sullivan Duane puts it down and sandstead puts it up and through the upright that Pat is good Bobcats have a seven nothing lead nice drive that time by Montana State set up by the big return from Taco dollar the cats are out to a 7 nothing lead with 2 minutes 35 seconds to go in the first quarter despite some more penalties which has been a big issue here from Montana State still able to punch this thing in yeah good Redemption there by the offensive line they they have the penalty that mov him back on Cole sa but what do they do they clear a wide open hole for Adam Jones on the next play touchdown gets pulled off the board and a pretty impressive hole for Adam Jones to one run through on that touchdown as well usually goal line you see a crowded box and you got to kind of fight your way through a pile that time he was able to just Walt right in there Montana state will now kick it away Brendan Hall going to work yeah nothing but uh nothing but touchbacks last week despite the big win wi and we'll see what he's got today it was pretty Breezy earlier today but looks like uh wind has calmed down the flags on the top of the goalposts are stagnant there's really no other flags to see it's pretty dark here these lights are not very bright no no and like you said in the pregame there's only four of them and the the crowd's completely dark on both sides and in the end zone it's unlike anything I've seen the kickoff by Brendan Hall heading toward the end zone and it lands behind the H of Utah and kicks out of the back of the end zone and Utah Tech will have the Touchback and they will start at the 25 yd line keeping an eye on some scores today Notre Dame leading Texas A&M 13-6 that game early in the fourth quarter Fresno State down 2310 at Michigan today Alabama rolled they put up 63 points in a shut out against Western Kentucky an Old Miss shut out Ferman 76 to nothing so that's what happens sometimes and some of these high quality f s against some other quality FCS but Idaho hanging with Oregon right now they're within a score in the fourth quarter 235 to go in the first quarter here in St George Utah Tech going to work offensively Reggie graphin is the quarterback he's on a designed run going to his right tackled across the line of scrimmage up to the 33 or excuse me the 28 yd line but he had to really probe around to find some space and pick that up and Zack black came out of left field and knocked him back Tako Lou lppa is into the ball game making his Bobcat debut here's the snap graph looking for room probes to the left side gets across the line of scrimmage and he's tackled past the 30 up the 32 yd line so Tako L lppa the younger brother of Danny was on cat chat this last week making his college debut at the safety position he's somebody said to put on a lot of weight over the last year or so but exciting to see him get out there yeah and right after Danny was just talking about him on catchat a couple nights ago Lou lappa and the family moved to Utah in 2020 so Tei played his high school football out here Montana State showing some pressure it's third and three the snap Hill looking to throw fires incomplete the coverage from John Johnson it was close he was right up on Daniel Thompson but he's able to knock it free the cats get another third down stop yeah nicely done by John Johnson and being tight to his guy but not being too aggressive and not going with the obvious Jersey pull you pull the Jersey that's going to get you the call every time but that time he was able to stay on him without being too aggressive Andy day ready to pun it away H six punts over 50 yards last year the snap right footed kick Taco dollar up to the 30 yd line a fair catch called for and he makes the snag there 124 to go in the first quarter Montana State leading seven to nothing after Taco dollar punt return put the cats inside the 10 it was Adam Jones who was able to punch it in now let's see what Montana State can do they really kind of had a Herky jerky start offensively Daniel yeah it'd be nice to see them just put together a clean drive down the field even on that last one you know you get the Big Pun return then the holding penalty they were able to still find per but here they're starting off on the 30 yard line and with it getting close to the end of the first quarter as they continue to find their Rhythm if they could just piece by piece get it down the field get a touchdown without any hitches any penalties that'd be nice for them moving forward Le Schwab is proud sponsor of the Montana State Bobcat safety starts at Le Schwab including tires Wheels batteries brakes steering alignment and more at Les schwab.com Montana state begins this drive at their own 30 yd line on the right hash mark three receivers to the left side here's the snap to mot he hands it off Scott Trey Humphrey up the middle at the 35 and he plls forward shy of the 40 eight or nine yard gain depending on the spot it'll bring up second and short that was a big Collision in the secondary with Scott Trey hum in one of the safeties yeah absolutely I think that was Jagger Williams again too he's been all over the field yep Jagger Williams is given up some weight in that fight but he's not afraid to launch his body he's giving up like 30 pounds three receivers to the left side Humphrey in the back field along with Milan on the right hash mark second and one after the nine-yard gain the snap they hand it off Humphrey up the middle he got the first down as he moves the pile forward he is stopped past the 40 yard line up to the 43 yd line along the right hash mark couple of these uh Utah Tech Trailblazers they are going in with Reckless abandoned Jaden Sheridan came flying in yeah no kidding and the offensive line for MSU is doing a really nice job taking care of the line of scrimmage and as they're working to the second level it's all happening the way it's supposed to but then body after body flying in it's it's a tough for MSU to really pop one loose three receivers to the left one to the right Scott Trey Humphrey is in at running back first down for Montana State it was a First Interstate Bank first down last play the snap out of the middle of the field turns left hands it off Humphrey probe in the line gets across the 45 yd line but nowhere else to go well that was a big Push by the offensive line and they pushed their men back a couple of yards they're past the 45 to the 47 now running into some full boxes too very impressive that ends the first quarter after that foury Rush by Scott Trey Humphrey and that will take us to a timeout cats left second and six with the football when we come back to start the second quarter Montana State leading seven to nothing and of Jones a one-yard touchdown run today you're listening to Bobcat football presented by learfield hello tomorrow we may not know exactly what you've got in store for us for our routines and our normals but here's the thing turns out we've got Bureau is leading Montana toward a future with a prosperous agriculture economy and thriving rural community join Montana Farm Bureau at mfbf dog and go popcats inter West moving and storage is the official moving company of the MSU podcats Montana state with one Town Pump touchdown today and Adam Jones Oney touchdown run cats lead seven to nothing against the Trailblazers as Montana State goes to work offensively facing second and six here momentarily also Oregon just scored what is probably the the clinching touchdown against Idaho they just scored in a long 10pl 75 yd Drive take a 2414 lead against Idaho with 5 and a half to play and Montana has just taking a lead heading uh into uh halftime they've kicked a bunch of field goals today and it's 1210 Montana over Missouri State it's been a fun day of college football absolutely and it's just it's good to be back doing this I know we got our feet wet last weekend especially with the Bobcats playing but to be able to have the Full Slate dating back to Thursday into last night into today it's just a beautiful feeling I love when the fall rolls around and we get to do this on a weekly basis Bobcats will be doing it again next week at home they have gold rush coming up next week that's first home game of the year coming up against Maine which won a thrilling tight game against Colgate yesterday that game kicks off at 6 o'clock we'll be on the air at 5:00 you'll be able to peek to see how much uh work has been done on the indoor facility and uh the the uh parking lots all been paved over some new uh Concourse areas it's going to be nice over at the football stadium the parking lot is Elite I was blown away I didn't think I could be so infatuated with the parking lot but looking at how they how they've redone it that's incredible and I love gold rush I love the packed house it's going to be so much fun that's coming up next week cat's hoping to bring home a 2 and0 record they've got a little work to do today leading 7 nothing to start the second quarter they're at their own 47 yard line with second and six facing them the shotgun snap little high hauled in by mot he hands It Off and it's a short gain up the middle on the Run by Adam Jones he's up to the 48 so it was a one-yard gain after that high snap well this drive's been all run so it'll be interesting to see here facing third down looks like about six yards uh they got a lot of options cats really haven't thrown much today they've been trying to run the football a lot really the the only thing that's held them back are a couple of holds yeah they're still moving that ball one receiver right two to the left Adam Jones the running back next to mot third and five for Montana State's offense mot claps his hands awaits the snap here it is takes it waist high looking to throw fires over the middle that is caught the first down marker depending on the spot Rohan Jones with a tough catch looks like they might have gotten it and they did needed five got five Rohan Jones a tough contested catch in the middle of the field yeah that throw over the middle that can be a quarter back's best friend on Third and short and right there Rohan Jones just setting up at the sticks getting himself some good position and Tommy mot throws a strike and mot took a hit at the end there kind of got whacked around the shoulders in the face mask don't love that Jared white into the ball game now still looking for his first Carry of the year he's an electric player he's going to have his moments even though he didn't play much last week two receivers to the left bunched up on the left hash mark first and 10 the snap he fakes the hand off mot steps up in the pocket he takes a shot he wants it all down the middle of the field incomplete just a step ahead of Aiden garan who had his man beat needed a little more air under that one the cats just missed a long touchdown strike and I love them going for it like I said a little bit ago they've been running the ball running the ball running the ball they get the short pass to get the first down and what's next set up on the play action and try and go deep and they had the right idea garan just a step ahead like you mentioned and uh good Ball by Tommy but just not quite close enough Jaden sharidan was the man in coverage that brings up second and 10 three receivers to left shared white still in the back field along with mot from the right hash mark up at the 47 yd line mot Hands Held chest TI takes the snap he keeps it running up the middle to the 4540 mot down the middle of the field at the 30 20 15 10 mot going to the goal line touchdown Tommy mot from 47 yards out straight up the gut his 30th career rushing touchdown and Tommy's a vet I mean just I I haven't seen him miss a read on a play like that in a long time and right there everyone's going after the back and there's this huge hole floodgates open and Tommy's Off to the Races for six boy his speed was really on display there as Montana State takes a 13 to nothing lead I mean he just blew by every angle anybody thought they had on him wow pretty impressive watching it back on the video board that guy can go he was between the hash marks and once he got to about the 30 or 25 yd line started to angle toward that left uh left Pyon and he is in for Town Pump touchdown that moves him up the career rankings fourth all time in program history in rushing touchdown Sullivan snap du Shan's hold and the kick by sandstead is good Montana state with a 14 to nothing lead so again the 30th career rushing TouchDown for Milan breaks the tie with Don Hass and Chad Newell on career rushing touchdowns next up Troy Anderson and Shawn Chambers are tied for second most in program history with 33 AP piece that'll take us to a break 3 minute 13 minutes 13 seconds to go in the first half Montana State leading 14 to nothing thanks to Tommy mot's 47 yd touchdown run you're listen to Bobcat football conducting research in the heart of Yellowstone National Park or even creating small shelter prototypes to address homelessness Montana State University think outside back at the First Interstate Bank broadcast position Tommy mot 47 yards to per the Bobcats have opened up a for nothing lead with 13 minutes and 13 seconds to go in the second quarter that's some special speed from Tommy Milan he's just a fantastic player and he has been ever since he was at but high and ever since the day he got on the MSU campus he's one of the all-time greats and just showing even more why here tonight so over 2600 career rushing yards for Tommy mot now it's only been six other guys who have rushed for 3,000 excuse me only three guys have rushed for 3,000 or more BR and Hall kicking it away from right to left heading toward the end zone it is another Touchback death taxes and Brandon Hall touchbacks he can really boot it man I I'm just impressed every time so for bot again seventh in program history coming into today with the 2500 rushing yards climbing that up today with that big 47 yard rushing touchdown haven't really seen that from him yet the first game and a half but first time he really took off and showed that Elite Speed albab cat defense trying to go to work yeah I'm excited to see them fly around a little more they've been fun to watch so far tonight a lot of good energy Bryce gy is in there along with [Music] O'Reilly so both grees are on the field at the moment together first down snap Deacon Hill throws into the flat incomplete intended for Chris streets just over threw him second and 10 from their own 25 yd line it's probably a good thing he did overthrow cuz Ryland art was flying downhill right there ready to make a play great story put out today I haven't had a chance to watch it yet but I've heard good things with Brandon Sullivan of MTN putting out a nice documentary about the greebies Brody and Bryce it was great Brody on the left side of the defensive line wearing the Legacy number 41 and Bryce wearing the number 10 here's the snap Hill on an option shuffling in the back field gets across the 25 yd line and Falls forward to the 30 that was a pretty broken uh play with the option rolling out to his left and cats had a lot of penetration there and he somehow found a way to turn that into a 5y gain third and five and a blitz there by Bryce greby coming through the a gap that time and this defense they clearly like to Blitz we saw a lot of it in a lot of different down and distance situations last week at New Mexico I think that's been a point of emphasis for them through Camp Kaden doer back at the safety position miles Jackson at the nickel third and five for Utah Tech two receivers left one to the right the snap Deacon Hill looking to throw steps up at a dirty po ET that is caught near the first down marker depending on the spot I think he might be a yard short at the 34 yd line mil ort was on the coverage I think it was J mchan the wide receiver who made the catch it is short by less than a yard looks like they're going to go for it now fourth and inches Hill under Center takes the snap looking to push it forward and we got this play blown dead no Flags maybe a timeout possibly oh they're going to review it before they snapped it so they're going to review the spot at First Interstate it's about supporting our communities and cheering on our teams thank you for letting us be your trusted Community Bank for more than 50 years First Interstate Bank Built For You member FDIC so another review here a Les Schwab review they take a look to see if that spot was correct week one for the officials too we've seen a lot of Replay reviews this weekend whether it being in volleyball or football yeah well the volleyball team last night played a nice tight game they ended up losing at home against the University of Washington but uh still they played pretty well took that game or that match to four sets yeah building off a lot of momentum from last year historic season under Matt halin his first year as the head coach and they bring back a lot of talent so it should be a fun fall and tryer Jim they're back in Action again tomorrow with a 300 p.m. first serve against Middle Tennessee State so nice opportunity uh tomorrow as well as they settle in and then next week they go to Nebraska yeah and I'm glad it's at 3 P.M because with as late as we're going to be getting back tonight I'm glad I can sleep in and still go to the game yes so that'll be nice and be cool for them to go out to Nebraska I mean I've been there for a volleyball match before they renovated their old basketball arena in Lincoln for volleyball they made sure it had like 2,000 more seats than Hawaii cuz Hawaii had always used to lead the nation in attendance now it's Nebraska so uh once you go through that I don't think any Big Sky atmospheres are going to Rattle this uh MSU volleyball team yeah that's volleyball Town USA and uh we were impressed by cat Grizz in the brick but Nebraska they got that going on a nightly basis that'll be a nice opportunity as we are in a Less Schwab review to determine the spot of the football in that last third down play and they are still taking a look at things right now to determine where that is also uh Jeff Cho got his first win at Nevada all right they say the call stands Nevada won against Troy today 2826 Troy tried to convert a late two-point conversion after scoring what uh or after scoring late in the game they needed the two-point to tie it unable to convert and Nevada and Coach Cho have their first win very happy for Coach Cho I'm excited to watch him in program building mode so fourth in less than a yard they have a different formation now Reggie graph the running back or the quarterback and a man jumped off sides fi the tight end boy that's a big mistake that'll bump him back to five yards and they will punt yeah here comes the punt team and uh I would imagine they might try and keep it away from Taco doer this time after they got burnt last time out that's what set up the first touchdown for Montana state where dollar returned it inside the 10 K actually had a big holding penalty on that drive and eventually punched in thanks to Adam Jones and then Tommy bot a rushing touchdown o nearly got a piece of it on the uh on the punt and dollar makes the catch with a fair catch Bo that was a nice play I think it was Dane steel Brock steel Brock steel thank you Dane Steel's the wide receiver Coy Steel's the older brother it's a lot of Steel yes it is and it's all coming out of Wyoming some more great Wyoming players in the coons Coulson on the roster and garri transferring over to the University of South Dakota let's take taking over with a 14 to nothing lead Bobcats will start this drive at their own 30 yard line yeah it'll be interesting to see their approach on this one but as they continue to run the ball with success probably going to keep sticking to it rushing touchdowns by Tommy mot and Adam Jones today shotgun snap mot hands it off scott treay Humphrey working to his left strips off a man at the 30 gets the 35 and Carries two more red jerseys just shy of the 40 yd line is that how they build him in Seattle yeah that's how they build him in Seattle man Metro League Rainer Beach Vikings and played for a very good coach in Cory Samson they got a lot of uh big time athletes who have come out of rer beach Jamal Crawford Nate Robinson just to name a couple 51 210 seconde sophomore Scott Trey Humphrey star early in the season was an eight- yard gain second and eight from their own 38 the snap he hands it off Humphrey up the middle has the first down at the 40 trying to push the pile forward they call forward progress does pick up the First Interstate Bank first down up to the 42 yd line on the left hash mark this Utah Tech defense is physical man I know they're having a tough time with the MSU offense so far but they're not backing down under a new head coach Lance Anderson joining the program this something you see a lot especially in that first week of the season a lot of guys come out a lot of teams come out with a lot of physicality a lot of pent up energy fresh bodies yep two receivers right one to the left from the left hash mark on first and 10 for the Bobcat offense the snap hands it off no mot keeps it running out right he's got room at the 45 Cuts up field the left hash mark to the 50 and he Dives forward there where he is stopped an eight-yard gain for Tommy Milan who's running the football a little bit more today I love that look there by Tyler Walker too um you know they faked the hand off going downhill to the offense's left side and they had the Ted end believe it was provin splitting out to the right and mot rolled out behind him you have the option to dump it out instead he finds contact clears his Defender towards the sideline and mot's got a clean running Lane for eight yards we owe you station ID we'll get to that in a moment 10 minutes to go in the second quarter Montana State up 14 to nothing second and two for the Bobcat offense High snap mot brings it down he hands it off running up the middle Adam Jones stays on his feet across the 45 Dives forward for a couple of extra yards well that was a nice run good balance all right before the next snap let's pause 10 seconds for our Network station identification you're listening to Montana State football football XL country 100.7 KX lb Churchill Boseman Belgrade also in Livingston on translator k254 I'm K goley alongside Daniel Sally Dy mcfs our onsite engineer Dan Davies as our man on the sideline will Gordon is back in the studios in Boseman 920 to go with the clock running in the second quarter Montana State leads 14 to nothing the 43 yd line in plus territory shotgun formation with a man in motion from right to left the snap to mot turns left he keeps it throws into the flat and it's incomplete a little behind time mola it was tipped and nearly intercepted by Amari Duncan the catch catch a break and I like what they're doing here again more movement just across the formation behind the line of scrimmage and that time it was Mulla going in motion on the right side and once that ball snap he's flying across with a tight end in front of him to the left side one of them's blocking the other one's there to catch the pass but the ball a little Off the Mark that time and leads to an incompletion now the officials communicating here Jordan Reed checks into the game tell me bot I think has a cut so he is off the field quickly got a bandage on the left arm and so Jordan Reed is in presumably for just one play here Milan just checking with a football I think he's going to be all right yeah he's ready to go yeah it looked like it was a cut on his left forearm so they forced them off to go get that quickly bandaged up so here's Jordan Reed threw a touchdown pass against Utah Tech in the Gold Rush game last year out of the shotgun formation the snap to Reed he hands it off Adam Jones running to his left tackled at the 40 yd line after a modest gain of three yards second and seven and Milan is getting ready to head back out of the field yeah Spencer Rich there on the tackle transfer from Memphis and he again very aggressively getting downhill and uh pretty good one-on-one tackle there against a guy in Adam Jones who's really a physical freak yeah did you know that mountain hot tub was voted hot tub dealer of the year for the best service after the sale since 1979 visit Mount hot tub at guill and Haine it's a great stat out there on Twitter this week Adam Jones apparently got to 22 mil hour on that long touchdown run last week eight and a quarter to go in the second Montana State up 14 to nothing facing third and eight the snap mot in the pocket throws to the left side caught by Taco do the 30 yd line the sideline and he tiptoes out of bounds for First Interstate Bank first down and taco daller there working out towards the sideline he is quick he is Shifty and if you're going to man up on him that out route works in the favor of Taco because of his foot speed to be able to get out there and Tommy's just got to put it on the money lot of space around Taco to make a easy comfortable catch an 11 yd pass second catch of the year for doler Montana State marching working from right to left at the 30 yd line on the left hash mark Mark with a first down snap it was to Adam Jones he hands it off to mot he pumps it now he runs down the right hash mark at the 20 1510 and he's tackled there shy of the 10 yd line little trickery that time it was a wild cat snap to Adam Jones he handed it off to Tommy mot he faked the reverse then it looked like he wanted to throw it used a pump fake and then instead after all of that ran it for 19 yards first inter state bank first down into the rose hours Red Zone fascinating look there by the Montana State offense and again that fake reverse had Taco doer coming the other way so he draws a lot of attention and once Tommy keeps that ball he had a lot of space he had Adam Jones running down the middle of the field but the safe option there was to run it for a very sizable game lot having a big day on the ground for the Bobcat offense Montana State just shy of the 10 yd line shotgun snap on first down fakes the handoff B lot drops back surveys and sacks back at the 20 yd [Applause] line to NASA with the stop in the back field one of the few returners on this Utah Tech Team and a loss of nine yards yeah eight-man box there for Utah Tech and Montana State smartly opted to throw the ball but good coverage in the back end and the pressure got to him Town Pump the exclusive sponsor of the exciting brawl the wild invites you to visit a Town Pump Store on your way home for gas and snacks safe travels from Town Pump second and 19 now that back at the 20 yd line they could get a first down at the one yd line Montana State up 14 to nothing 6 minutes to go clock running in the second quarter the snap no they whistle and blow it dead flag from the back judge so now a delay of game so a sack and a delay of game after the big play the Bobcats are backing it way up now back it up to the 25 yd line it's set and 24 Montana state had shot themselves in the foot a couple times today yeah it's unfortunate cuz you know without that they really have had an pretty easy time moving the football down the field but again these penalties have just been Drive Killers for him we do not have upto-date stats but I believe Montana State's over 200 rushing yards already the snap to mot he hands it off up the middle Scott Trey humpr to the 20 carries a man forward for an additional two yards to the 18 yd line for the Bobcat offense there is a flag on the play now D tackle on the far side jumped yep a 5 yard penalty that'll make it second and 19 kind of a sloppy drive here for Montana State they've had some flashes but we've seen some penalties and a sack and just a little choppy yeah I I'd imagine they're hoping for some more Rhythm right now I mean they they didn't have the cleanest start to the game from an offensive standpoint last week either you know they they were able to put together those two touchdown drives in the second quarter but early on struggled this week early on haven't looked the best as well three receivers spread out to the left side for the Montana State offense with 520 to go in the first half bcats up 14 to nothing second 19 from the 20 yd line the snap handoff Humphrey up the middle to the 15 Dives forward and he is stopped there mark them yep at the 15 yd line that'll bring up still third and long for the Bobcat offense inj we have an injury and it is a bobcat Cedric Jefferson laying on his back Jefferson already one of the second string guys that moved in due to injury so more Ezekiel would be the next guy up so we've got a Boseman Health injury timeout this injury timeout is brought to you by Boseman Health Spine and Joint Institute don't let join in back pain seal your best years our revolutionary approach to orthopedic surgery ensures safer care and quicker recovery get back to what you love visit bosan health.org sji also the small business Game Changer contest is back presented by the Boseman Area Chamber of Commerce one local business will have the chance to win a $10,000 marketing package with MSU Athletics visit Boseman chamber.com GameChanger for details the winner will be announced on November 23rd vers Montana cator Jefferson walked off under his own power but that would be a big loss if the cats lose anything more on the offensive line yeah and the way they've had to piece it together the first couple weeks I mean it's it from the outside looking in it might not seem that hard to switch around different positions but for two guys who were slotted to start at tackle to bump into guard the way they've played for Cole s to move into center that is not easy to do and I think it's a testament to Al Johnson and how he coaches those guys up but to continue to lose pieces that would uh be tough tough circumstances for this MSU offensive line that's really done a nice job minus the penalties tonight through the first two games 502 to go in the second quarter I think they might have gone to a Timeout on the field the red hat did not bring out her uh her timing her timing stick I'm not sure what the official term for that is yeah some sort of sign yeah timing sign we've seen it at Bobcat Stadium it's the little poll that's got the digital clock yeah but uh she is standing with one of the referees right now so I don't know if they actually went to one of their breaks but uh doesn't really matter cuz we're here and we remind you that Montana Farm buau is the Grassroots voice of Agriculture advocating for farmers and ranchers across our state and leading Montana toward a future with prosperous agriculture economy and thriving rural communities join us at mfbf dorg go Bobcats Missouri State winning over the hill in Missoula 12 minutes ago in the third quarter Missouri State leading Montana 17 to 12 right now got to imagine uh it's a pretty Rowdy atmosphere right right now over in Missoula maybe they're a little on edge yeah all right here we go after the injury timeout third and 14 Ezekiel the north Texas transfer in at left tackle the snap they H hand it off Humphrey running right hurdles to the 10 and he's stopped there Montana state with a snap to Adam Jones that time with a little bit of a wrinkle so a stop by Utah Tech and Montana state will run the field goal unit out there and miles sandstead will attempt his first career field goal big test here for sandstead sophomore from Minnesota so he will dial it up a 26 yd attempt the snap little low got the hold down it got blocked ball is loose in the air and a pile diving after it and he is tackled at the 25 yd line it was a little bit of a low snap but somebody broke through there in the middle of the line got a mid on it and a Bobcats miss a 26- yd field goal attempt yeah it's unfortunate for Sanson going out there trying to knock one through for the first time and just uh not not much else he can do yeah somebody came off the edge I didn't see the number but somebody came off the edge he was able to get in there pretty easily well if there's going to kill's heel for Montana State it's the specialist yeah especially the kicking game we'll see how things continue to work there Stan head and couchman were in a pretty tight competition in Fall camp for that place kicking roll Cowman got hurt before week zero that one really wasn't on sandet either no that was a man deep at the back field no but the field goal unit as a whole has been an issue 408 to go in the second quarter Deacon Hill takes the snap throws over the middle incomplete Bryce greby got out there and knocked it away good athletic play by G covering the tight end about 15 yard down field over the middle melstone Cowboy well one of the melstone Cowboys getting out there and getting a hand on it that's a good looking play as Bryce greby starts to get some more time more snaps 404 to go in the second quarter Montana State leading 14 to nothing hasn't really been much here for Utah Tech offensively only got nine yards through the air 19 yards on the ground Bobcats have 189 rushing yards here's the snap they hand it off bouncing around the middle to the 30 ydd line tackled forward to the 32 yd line Shamar Garrett nice job probing around the San Jose State transfer yeah eer was back there in position to make a play but a nice bounce there by the running back and then gby had his position but by the time the running back got there one of the offensive linemen was able to work up field and bump him off his tracks and it leads to a pretty solid game there to set up a very manageable third down for Utah Tech Utah Tech still looking for their first first down of the day they've had a couple of third and shorts and then some penalties have hurt them two receivers left three to the right on Third and five empty backfield Deacon Hill takes a waist highe snap he throws over the middle incomplete knocked away again intended for the tight end it was Bryce greby one more time who knocked it away from Annie fi yeah that's a great job again this this Bobcat defense loves to man up in coverage regardless of down in distance and Bryce gby that time as a linebacker taking the opportunity to get out there cover some ground and get another hand on that ball another three and out for the Bobcat defense so far for Utah Tech not much offense just barely over 30 yards snap Andy day with the punt Taco dollar shuffling to his right waves his arm in the air for the fair catch at 31 yd line that's where Montana State take Montana state will take over with 3 minutes 10 seconds to go in the second quarter leading 14 to nothing Bobcat football is brought to you by m the McDonald's app download the McDonald's app today to earn free food with every purchase and just score uh cheeseburger pack for $4.99 on every Cats football home game day it's a pretty good deal not bad cheeseburgers go well with game day shout out to Golden Archers man Montana State's offense coming back out there 310 to go let's see if they can drive down the field here starting at their own 31 yd line so nice opportunity here to kind of get into a late half offense see if they can get some chunk plays get this thing into the end zone and open it up a little bit more going into half shotgun snaap to mot he keeps it on a play action rolls to his left throws that's caught by Ryan Lan but a quick sure-handed tackle then a flag on the play a one-yard gain but let's see what the flag is maybe a face mask yeah Lan with his first catch of the year he was really impactful last week but not offensive in terms of the stats just he was great blocking yeah he's get it help set up ineligible man downfield it was Latta Alexander Jr who was covered on the snap okay another penalty another mistake for the Bobcats in that regard lot of penalties from Montana State today it's their fifth penalty today and it's still only the first half yeah you don't like to see that early on something that they're going to have to uh take to the drawing board take to the the practice field and usually more penalties is more running and so I feel for these guys so that'll back him up another five yards that's five penalties for 40 yards for the Bobcats today 251 with the clock running in the second quarter the snap turns left hands it off Humphrey up the Middle with room to the 35 yd line breaks off another tackle and stop shy of the 40 big run that time by Scott Trey Humphrey stopped at the 38 yd line in the middle of the field his ability to find the hole is really impressive again something he talked about on cat chat on Wednesday is just him working with Sam Mi the running back coach on being able to see that stuff before the snap and he's executing it to a t Montana State now second and three two or three receivers to the right side shotgun snap turns left hands it off Scot Trey Humphrey up the middle he's got the first down across the 40 ydd line up to the 40 was that the 42 yep 42 yd line for Bobcat offense 206 to go in the second quarter clock grinding down to that two-minute time out and the cats will not get a snap off so that brings us to the two-minute timeout we'll take take a break Montana State leading 14 to nothing and driving at their own 42 yd line working against Utah Tech in Georgia tonight excuse me St George tonight not George you're listen to penalty on this drive but they need to clean it up absolutely and we saw them have success last week in the two-minute drill at the end of the game so it' be nice to see them take that into this two-minute drill here to end the half Montana State up 14 to nothing with three receivers to the right side Adam Jones is the running back shotgun snap mot to throw steps up in the pocket fires to the left side caught by Adam Jones shy of the 50 yd line outside the numbers and he's Twisted out of bounds see where the spot is past the 45 give him the 47 yd line 5 yd gain second down and I'm excited about the potential Adam Jones has as a pass catcher we saw it a little bit last week we see it a little bit there but I think that's something we're going to see more of as the season continues to go on yeah coach vegan made an interesting point in the press conference this week uh he said some teams were looking at Adam Jones as a potential wide receiver at the college level he looks the part two receivers to the right one to the left second and four after the six-yard game the snap they hand it off Adam Jones up the middle across the 50 to the 45 yd line stops shy the 40 picks up the First Interstate Bank first down along that left hash mark they Mark him down at the 42 yd line into Trailblazer territory yeah had a really nice job being patient there by Jones getting the ball on the right side of Tommy mot instead of working across towards the left side of the line kind of staying towards the center right in the a gap between the center and Right Guard finds a nice little lane cats quickly up to the line 135 to go in the second quarter one man spread out to the left side two to the right the shotgun snap mot in the pocket fires to the left side caught by Adam Jones across the 40 yd line gets out of bounds quickly short gain just a two-yard gain that time second and eight Tommy not Tommy's not a afraid to take that option right there I mean they're manned up and they're giving them the the sidelines right now and in a two-minute drill you can just take a few yards at a time might as well Montana State looking to add to a 14 nothing leate toward the end of the first half 124 to go with the clock stopped in the second quarter three receivers left one to the right Adam Jones the running back to snap a hand it off Adam Jones runs right across the 40 up the middle of the field across the 35 stopped a yard shy the first down marker at the 33 three yd line so this will bring up third and short she's going to keep moving that ball and Cedric Jefferson back in the game as well ke good to see after he went off an apparent injury earlier third and one still three timeouts for the Bobcat offense now the snap a handed off and it's broken up in the back field no gain maybe a yard loss and timeout called Spencer Rich getting back there coming in hot off the edge and Titan Flashman had a tough angle on him he was able to get around him and make it tough on the offense to move that ball so interesting decision to come here for the Bobcat we'll be back home next week for Gold Rush a 6:00 kickoff will be on there at 5:00 that means Firehouse Subs will be supplying some delicious delectable sandwiches for The Press Room Press Box and for the radio Crew looking forward get some Firehouse Subs back at Bobcat Stadium coming up next Saturday also Ty ramman Cooper tires are proud supporters of your MSU Bobcats visit ty.com for a complete list of stores services and special offers Ty more than just a tire store Montana state to just use the timeout each team with two left 49 seconds to go in the second quarter Montana State up 14 to nothing they've got fourth and one they're lining up to go for it I love this call here there's 49 seconds left in the half it's too deep for a field goal and your defense has shown you that even if you give them a little better field position here around the 35 yd line if you don't get it then they're going to be able to be relied upon to get a stop shotgun formation Adam Jones the running back three receivers to the right side from the middle of the field the snap right to Adam Jones he runs left outside the hash mark has the first down but just barely tackled quickly nice ankle Tackle by Jared fotu he does pick up the first down on that wild cat snap which we've seen a couple of times tonight yeah there's a lot of different ways to run the football and there a direct snap and they've been very creative in how they're moving that ball down the field clock running at the 42 Mark in the second quarter Montana State up to the 31 yd line the snap to mot looks to throw fires to the left side caught by Adam Jones at 25 yd line gets the 20 yd line you can see gets popped out of bounds another First Interstate Bank first down into the rose hour Red Zone with a clock stopped at 33 seconds yeah plenty of time left right now in this half if they're going to keep letting Adam Jones leak out of the back field like that especially last time it was two yards this time it's more than 10 yards for a first down you take it every single time and that's just heads up by Tommy mot they put him officially at the 20 let's see if Montana State can finish this thing off still two timeouts 33 seconds to go in the second quarter three receivers to the right two to the left including the running back Adam Jones empty backfield mot takes the chest tie snap three-step drop steps up Fires for the endzone incomplete I'm not sure who that was intended for not really in the area of Lata Alexander Jr was the only man in the end zone no and I think you know he had two guys on him out there and Jones was covered in the left side so he just throw it out of the back of the end zone and lived to fight another day 28 seconds to go in the second quarter second and 10 for the Montana State offense working from the 20 yd line catch up 14 to nothing looking for a two and0 start in the season two receivers right two to the left driving toward the student section the snap L lot three-step drop rolling out to his left he tucks it at the 20 yd line and angles out of bounds the 15 yd line that sets up for a really manageable third down here 5y gain for mot Montana State up to 230 rushing yards in the first half Humphrey 91 rushing yards lot got 65 Adam Jones is 43 see how they do this here they got timeouts if they want them so if they feel comfortable running the ball that's also on the table Utah Tech game Ops crew might accidentally get Bobcat fans hyped up and Mony mounty two receivers right one to the left Adam Jones in the back field third and five the snap the lot to throw looking left pump fake now gets rid of it and knock free incomplete on the left side line lot took a hit he went down fourth down for Montana State and the kicking unit is on its way out and that's a nice job John sniffing there the defensive lineman getting into the back field and Tommy thought he would have an option to turn after a pump fake instead went right back to it realizing that the pressure was right in his face so mil SED missed a 26 y this will be a 33 y let's see if they can punch this thing through from the left hash mark with 19 seconds left in the second quarter Tommy Sullivan snaps it Duane gets it down the right foot he Ki kick by sandstead is up plenty of leg and it is no good hooked it left two missed field goals by Montana State 26 and 33 yards and bobcats unable to convert points at the end of the first half so Utah Tech will take over with 15 seconds left again the the field goal unit continuing to be in Achilles heel and something they're going to have to continue to work on throughout the season but uh you know two opportunities well within distance there to end this first half and unable to convert points on either one not much of a breeze I mean there's a light Breeze but that that's not enough to affect it no we'll hear from Dan Davies and Coach vegan at halftime let's see what Utah Tech wants to do here with 15 seconds backed up in their own End Zone here's the snap hand it off run up the middle to the 25 yd line a 5yd gain and that should wrap it up clock winding down after the 5y by Nigel Osborne and that will do it so that is the end of the first half Montana State leading 14 to nothing they missed two field goals in the first half and we will step aside again it's Montana State 14 Utah Tech nothing at halftime you're listening to Bob Cat football presented by learfield Ambient Air Solutions wants to take a moment to show our gratitude while synced up to your TV in the comfort of your own home go to syncmygame.con glogle and Daniel Sally up in the broadcast Booth the First Interstate Bank broadcast booth and again the Bobcats leading 14 to nothing here Daniel but you know it really it should be more as we heard from coach vegan well yeah you you look at the numbers from the first half and they have over 270 yards of offense and they hold Utah Tech to zero first downs 42.2 yards or yeah 42.2 yards for the whole half I think or no 38 yards for the whole half yep and so that it's just a defensive Masterpiece but offensively you got 14 points to show for over 270 yards of offense and that's just that's leaving meat on the bone is what it is and you give credit to the defense because they deserve it but offensively you just look at the way they move the ball they've been so effective but a couple Mis uh or yeah misplayed Special Teams opportunities and then offensively a couple Drive killing penalties and that's what it all ties back to you you look at the scoreboard and you should have more to show for it yeah the two Miss field goals sting to one blocked one was wide left so that hurts for the cats missing a 26 Y and a 33 Y in this ball game the time of possession another number that really stands out Montana State 23 1/2 minutes while Utah Tech had 6 and 1/2 minutes that's that's quite the disparity yeah and again when you're running the ball effectively that number is going to get more and more crooked but got to have more to show for it Town Pump touchdowns today uh we saw Adam Jones with a Oney touchdown run it was right after he had rushed for 16 yards to put the cats right at the goal line then Tommy mad had a 47 yard a lightning strike down the middle of the field score his 30th rushing touchdown of his career also M riy and Ryland ort lean the way in tackles with three a piece for each Bobcat tackle that's another $10 being donated to the Boseman Food Bank courtesy of Town and Country Foods the Bobcats need your support to go for the win donate to the Bobcat Club Street to win campaign to help us reach our $3 million goal all right let's take a look at some other scores uh peaking some of the top 25 scores New Mexico's at Arizona number 21 Arizona tonight that game's tied at 14 early in the second quarter so New Mexico hanging with Arizona a little bit uh Idaho gave a nice run at Oregon today but they end up losing 2414 out there Notre Dame beats Texas A&M at Texas A&M today they win 2313 that's a big win for Notre Dame Fresno State lost at Michigan 30-10 Michigan number nine so far this year Georgia dismantle dismantles Clemson 34 to three Ohio State beats up akan 52-6 Texas A&M shuts out Colorado State 52 to nothing Alabama over Western Kentucky 63 to nothing oh miss over Ferman 76 to nothing tonight uh Penn State beats West Virginia 34 to2 Penn State number eight in the nation number 15 Tennessee beats Chattanooga 69 to3 South Dakota State lost at number 17 Oklahoma State 44-20 Mark Kowski had a good ball game in that one he threw it a little bit 20 of 37 264 yards Griffin wiy seven catches for 150 yards in that ball game number 18 Kansas State beats UT Martin 41-6 number 19 Florida goes to Florida this number 19 Miami goes to Florida and wins 4117 and Iowa over Illinois State 40 to nothing today uh also around the Big Sky couple of games kicked off on Thursday Eastern Washington beats Monmouth 42-27 kakoa as sparis completed 89% of his passes for 275 yards five touchdowns no interceptions fim Chism the third 12 catches 173 yards and three touchdowns so they were really really good Eastern Washington off to a 1 and0 start uh Sacramento State lost at San Jose State that was 4224 but that was a much closer game than it uh indicated it was tight the whole way uh and they end up losing at San Jose State some of the other Big Sky scores today uh around the conference with a bunch of different games going on uh today Oregon State beat Idaho State uh 38-15 Northern Colorado lost at Incarnate Word 28-7 Cal py lost to tight one at San Diego 27-21 Washington blowing up Portland State 70-30 there was 100 points in that game uh Northern Arizona gets a win at home against Lincoln 66-6 UC Davis uh Falls to California at 31-13 the game's in action right now Montana leading Missouri State going into the fourth quarter up 19- 17 and weer state and Washington have just gotten started that game is scoreless in the first quarter Montana parents know parenting isn't easy parenting mont.org provides First Interstate Bank broadcast Booth here's the voice of the Bobcats Katon Google wasn't a particularly clean first half but Bobcats do have the lead up 14 to nothing over Utah Tech as we get set for the start of the second half Builder's First Source is the leading supplier professional grade building materials find one of our nine Montana locations at bldr.com Builder First Source a proud sponsor of Bobcat football all right Daniel before we get started here in the second half let's get to our McDonald's delivery of the half what delivered in that first half well I'm going to say a couple things first of all the defense was fantastic so you have to acknowledge that but I want to give props to Taco dallor for that pun return he delivered to help set up the first touchdown for Montana State when they were having a tough time putting together drives I like it Taco doer the first half McDonald's delivery of the half the cats did convert kako kick converted uh on the two point afters but they have missed a pair of field goals today they had two Town Pump touchdowns in that first half big part of that first half with the penalties five penalties for 40 yards that hurt the cats and uh only up 14 nothing when they uh have picked up 15 first downs to Utah Tech's zero Utah Tech up the ball to start the second half which will begin right now as Brandon Hall lines up the kickoff from right to left this big booming kick is out of the back of the end zone right in front of some of the cheerleaders who all brought out their Stanley Cups today and they are in front of the student section which looked really hype at the start of the game and now has thinned by about 50% absolutely and uh Brendan Hall's never seen a Touchback he doesn't like and it looked like he maybe was aiming for some of those Stanley that were set up on the edge of the T there all right here we go Utah Tech with the first possession of the second half Reggie graph the St George native is out on the field making his Collegiate debut today he's a third-year player but classified as a freshman and he is ready to go 61 200 lb and that's how they will start the second half we have not seen the Syracuse transfer Luke mcf the snap graph nope they will blow it dead flag on the play should be a false start it is is their left tackle and that'll back him up hasn't been a particularly clean game for Utah Tech either there's been a couple of times where they've had third and short and that has led uh to some penalties that have or even fourth in short and they that's backed them up yeah a couple false starts I think they had a delay of game as well just uh not a very clean game maybe it's cuz it's so dark down on the field it really is dark out there I I don't mean to harp on it here's the snap Hills back in there looking to throw he takes a deep shot over the middle of the field and that is incomplete he's got the big arm but it's not always the most accurate Ry and ort in coverage against true Tanner and he overthrew his Man by about five or six yards well I don't care how strong your arm is if you got Blake Schmidt running at you that fast it's hard to be accurate had a little bit of time there for a moment but yeah Schmidt able to get in there he was bearing down on him and was able to get to the Cor back that brings up second and 15 at the start of the third quarter Montana State leading 14 to nothing defense has been very good today they have not given up a first down now the snap looking to throw fires into the flat of the right side incomplete it was dropped by Nigel Osborne and a nice job by m O'Reilly getting out there he was ready for it pass still should have been caught but mcade was there ready to make a play nonetheless Tako l l Kea is still in there as one of the safeties right now with Ry and ort red shirt freshman younger brother of Danny Lou lppa that's pwra and Johnson as The cornerbacks and the starting linebackers in there with d down to Nickel third and 15 for the Utah Tech offense the snap to Deacon Hill he's under pressure steps up the pocket fires over the middle caught and oh incomplete Ryland ort laying the boom he had that ball at his hands and ort came in and dislodged it wow yeah and I like that look defensively there by MSU they drop their Corners deep and have their safety step up and fill in and uh Ryland and Taki were both right there ready to make a play that was a shoulder to a thigh that is good clean hard noosed football can't feel good just lodged the ball from the hands of Estus who looked like he had it although it would have been well short of the first down snap for the punt the right footed kick is in the air Taco dollar backing it up at the 30 back to the 25 makes a catch there with some room he runs right dollar to the 25 yd line inside the numbers turns out field past the 30 to 35 and he angles out of bounds shy of the 40 that'll be good field position here for Montana state for their first possession of the second half we remind you the Bobcats need your support to go for the win donate to the Bobcat clubs three to win campaign to help us reach our $3 million goal supporting student athletes Montana stayed up 14 to nothing 1433 to go in the third quarter and an important drive here the for the Bobcat offense yeah you got the whole first half behind you now and what you can do here is likely script out the entire set of plays you want to run on this first drive and how you envision your offense putting together a clean drive so we'll see if they can execute it the way they want Jaden Perkins is in there at the left guard spot right now so a little bit of a change on that o line that's the only change I can spot here three receivers to the left 1433 to go in this third quarter Montana stay up 14- nothing the snap to bot he hands it off Humphrey running to his right Cuts up field along the numbers at the 35 across the 40 yd line and he stopped there at the 42 or 43 depending on the spot second down for the Bobcat offense yeah and Scott Tre H Humphrey had 91 yards on the ground in the first half you keep him rolling because he was getting you six yards a pop you want to ride that as long as you can yes so it's Cedric Jefferson Jaden Perkins on the left side of the line still Cole saing Marcus we and Titan flight so Conor Moore not on the field now didn't see an injury but not sure if there was something that went wrong for Conor Moore snaap to aot he hands it off Humphrey up the middle bounces off one man and can't get much further looks like no gain on the play third down for the Bobcat offense big hit that time by fiser Jackson transfer from BYU and he came in hot and now a pause due to an injury for a Utah Tech player Bobcats have a lot riding on today's game and you have a lot riding on your tires and wheels pros at Les Schwab take your safety seriously stop by Les Schwab or visit Les schwab.com got a Boseman Health injury timeout here 1342 to go in the third quarter Montana State leading 14 to nothing and can't see who the injured player is it's one of the defensive linemen he is on his back being inspected at the moment for the Bobcats face a third and five he's up on his feet now canasa one of the defensive tackles up on his feet now he's walking it off Rohan Jones down there they're playing some sort of Irish jig music he's kind of in the back of the Huddle yeah just doing a little jig yeah not bad keeping himself active late at night here in under the lights at Utah Tech I mean if you if you can do a jig you can do a little Irish dance it means you got some good feet yeah that's tough Adam Jones into the game as the running back Montana State leading 14 to nothing with the football third and five at their own 43 the snap to a lot he rolls out to his left throws on the Run caught by Taco doar at the 50 yd line and he scoots out of bounds after the First Interstate Bank first down into plus territory pass the 50 down to the 47 yd line so the cats convert on third down when they run those those designed roll outs for Tommy not even off a play action whether he's going to his left or going to his right he's really impressive as at getting his shoulder squared and throwing that ball that was a strike there by Tommy Montana state has converted four of their nine third down opportunities tonight first and 10 the snap they hand it off Adam Jones hit the line of scrimmage and he is in a big old scrum nowhere to go stop him at the 45 yd line a two- ydd gain second and eight for the Bobcat offense yeah it's nice nice job by Utah Tech defending the run and they've been prepared for the run the whole game just based on their fits and how they're how they're lining up at the snap but sometimes it just hasn't been enough and MSU still able to get their push that time not the case Conor Moore by the way looks like he does not have his shoulder pads down he's got an ice pack on his left shoulder right now so that leads to Jaden Perkins getting into the game with the left guard spot for what seems to be the rest of the game snap to mot he keeps it he runs to his left out throws from the line of scrimmage caught by Rohan Jones at the 20- yd line down the left sideline five to the goal line that is Into The End Zone touchdown Montana state from 45 yards out Rohan Jones made to catch near the 20 and then scampered down the left sideline along the type roope and he is in for his first bob cat score it's impressive work by Tommy mot again rolling out to his left not working towards his throwing hand but he sees Jones out there he hits him and it looked like the safety was going to have a clean angle to get Jones knocked out of bounds but he stood strong was able to absorb a little contact keep it inside of the pylon for six really impressive stuff to keep his balance third Town Pump touchdown of the day and it's Rohan Jones was able to score and now they might take a look at it yeah they're going to see if he stepped out of bounds if he did it was kind of around the 10 yard line when that safety had the angle on him yeah pretty impressive footwork if he didn't yeah but a nice catch by Rohan Jones if it does stand it would be his first bobcat touchdown it's a prolific player at Maine transferring after last year he had seven receiving touchdowns while he was playing for Maine the third-year junior will have another year of Eligibility after this he'll be playing his former team next week and uh jari Martin who uh was a transfer from Montana State he's their starting running back grw we'll see next week all right let's pause 10 seconds for our Network station identification and you're listening to Montana State football XL country 100.7 KX lb Churchill Boseman Belgrade also in Livingston on translator k254 Al I'm ke gley alongside Daniel Sally in the first inter state bank broadcast Booth 12 minutes 24 seconds to go in the third quarter Montana State leading 20 to nothing and right now they are reviewing the Rohan Jones touchdown see if he stepped out of Bounds at about the 10 yd line when there was a safety there trying to angle him out Ryan Jones is going to be a weapon for Montana State as things continue to move forward well yeah and there was a void left in this offense with Derrick Snell graduating you know kind of being able to be a gadget tight end HB back fullback hybrid and Rohan Jones Pro is proving himself to have a similar skill set where he can be used in a variety of ways sort of a Swiss army knife for the offense and there we see him leaking out making a very impressive catch down field we've seen being involved in the Run game as a blocker he's got great feet can get out and move and he's uh definitely a fun and exciting player to watch we're in a Less Schwab review at the moment official now takes the headphones off and has determined the call did Rohan Jones step out of bounds touchdown Bobcats Rohan Jones who his first touchdown the blue and gold a heck of a scan er down the left sideline another big play for Montana State Bob katle 20 to nothing before the P attempt from Miles sandstead comes up this is about a good as good a start as you can ask for for MSU out of the half a three and out a very clean drive a couple of nice throws from Tommy some effective work in the Run game as well very nicely done 45 yd catch and run now the pat snap hold is down by duchane sandstead puts it up and that kick is good kanako kick converted the Bobcats have a 21 nothing lead they score on their first possession of the second half we'll take a break 12 minutes 24 seconds to go in the third quarter Montana State leading Utah Tech 21 to nothing after the Rohan Jones touchdown catch you're listening to bcat football get a big play from Tommy malach to Rohan Jones a 45 yd strike the Bobcats have a 21 nothing lead over Utah Tech Montana State ready to kick this thing away from right to left it'll be Brendan Hall with the honors oh we'll see if the defense got him three and out of him still no first downs for Utah Tech and I'm sure that's a streak that Bobby Dy would like to see continue kickoff is in the air and out of the back of the end zone once again kick off so Utah Tech will take over at their own 25 yd line Bobcats with the scoring drive with a five playay 62 yard drive with most of that on the one play to Rohan Jones they also had a seven playay 70 yd Drive which ended on a 47 yd touchdown run by Tommy mot his 30th rushing touchdown and another one three plays for 10 yards which actually had more yards than that got packed up on a penalty but uh that was uh all set up by a big punt return by Tako D Utah Tech looking for their first first down of the day the snap to Reggie graph pulls it out of the belly of the running back throws to the left side caught by one of the backs but he is blown up quickly I'm not sure who that was but somebody just blew up their man that was Kaden daller and that's how to eat up a screen play in the backfield 101 right there by him just took his blocker straight back into the receiver and completely blew up everything they were trying to do that's fantastic work by dor Jamar Garrett is injured on the play he's having trouble putting the weight on his right foot 1210 to go in the third quarter Montana State up 21 to nothing and they're getting Garrett hobbled off the field here Bobcat Nation Toyota has created a Rewards program specifically for you as part of the Toyota Rewards program you can win exclusive swag throughout the year along Toyota proud to be a partner of bobcat Athletics one yard loss on the play and now Luke mcfa getting his first opportunity here for Utah Tech is the Syracuse trans ER he got into three games and attempted one pass for Syracuse it was an interception snap mcf fakes the handoff throws a screen tipped it incomplete Brody gby and Paul brat were there one of those two got a hand on and takil Lou L Kea there ready to eat up the play if the ball was going to make it to the intended target and maybe have a chance to pick it off as well cool to see Taki out there he's got a long way to go he's a developmental project the guy who came in he really was not very big he's 6' 175 now he's gained 15 or 20 lounds already Sean Heron he knows how to do it it's Carol cow alums they're good at their jobs let's go 1155 to go in the third quarter the snap MC fail to throw Under Pressure incomplete getting wrapped up as he threw that one Ryland ort was there wasn't a sack but it was close and it helped disrupt the play and that brings up fourth down this Bobcat defense holds strong they're playing my style of Defense man I love blitzing and I love man coverage they're doing a lot of both of those things and that time it's Ryan ort from all the way in the backline of Defense coming forward and getting pressure on the quarterback no sacks today for the cats no sacks on the year yet here's the snap for the punt Andy day gets it away off his right foot Taco dollar backs up to the 25 yd line and makes the catch in the middle of the field he cuts through between the hash marks of the 3540 dollar down the left side at the 50 dollar gets the 4540 he's outside the numbers and he gets shoved out of bounds by the punter Andy day deep into Utah Tech territory they Mark him out at the 30 yd line and another massive return by Taco doar his second lightning strike of the day T there's so much good that comes with having Taco doer back out on the field and a lot of that has to do with the impact he has in the return game we'll take a break 1137 to go in the third quarter Montana State leading 21 to nothing over Utah Tech and they've got Prime field position thanks to Taco dollar when strong and healthy out and off the field uh hello to col migan tuning in from Milwaukee and former bob cat who's a now doing some work in the NBA 1137 to go in the third quarter Montana State up 21 to nothing could be more the defense has been great taco dollar just had another big punt return that has set up Montana State at the 30 yd line of Utah Tech Conor Moore appears to have injured his left shoulder Jaden Perkins is in at left guard and Tommy mad is back at quarterback with his three touchdown lead he's ready to go on the shotgun formation Dane Steel in motion here's the snap they hand it off steel running right across the Third and gets hit at the 25 yd line just shy of the 25 yd line given the 27 First Carry first yards for Dan Steel in his career the reigning Wyoming Gatorade player of the year yeah one blocker out there with two Defenders he picks the outside guy hoping steel could maybe beat the inside guy but the inside guy flew up and uh got a good hit on him and a Utah Tech Trailblazer is down so a Boseman Health injury timeout while they take a look at him so danne steel was the Wyoming Gatorade player of the year last year Coulson who's on the roster hasn't had a carry yet this year he was the Gatorade Player of the Year in Wyoming in 21 and 22 and then Coy steel was the man in 2016 so that's five of the last eight Wyoming football players of the year on the have come through the bobcast we got to think for Wyoming gatored players of the Year even in basketball Sam leot another one who's won that award and excuse me I didn't mention Garrett who transferred to South Dakota he was the man in 2019 11:05 to go in the third quarter Montana stayed up 21 nothing two receivers left one to the right Adam Jones is the running back the snap to mot waist high he hands it off Jones probing in the back field and Falls forward to the 25 yd line for two yd gain third and five for the Bobcat offense in the middle of the field impressive effort to get those yards there by Jones by the way the other Wyoming Gatorade football players of the Year Brett Brenton who went to Wyoming for two years and then went to Northern State in north or in South Dakota and uh rush for over a th yards Parker Christensen also played three years at Wyoming before he uh medically retired and then the other guy Gren bule he played at Rocky Mountain 1022 to go in the third quarter Montana State up 21 nothing with the ball at the 25 yd line the snap mot to throw that pass knock down knocked down at the line of scrimmage then mot got taken down hard while that ball was in the air that'll bring up fourth and five from the 25 yeah and he had a receiver I think it was Alexander over the middle who was open that's who he was looking for and then mad on the receiving end of a suplex tackle after they let go of that ball which is unfortunate and wouldn't mind seeing some laundry for that one Montana State's going to go for it here at the 25 yd line in plus territory facing fourth and five they've missed two field goals today from 26 and 33 yards out three receivers left two to the right mot in an empty backfield in the middle of the field he takes the snap chest High to throw over the middle caught for a first down inside the 20 yard line by Rohan Jones he's wrapped up at the 18 yd line Rohan Jones having a big start to the second half cats convert into the rose hours Red Zone one a good job by Tommy there getting the snap and diagnosing it's only a three-man rush so deep deep behind the line of scrimmager back in the defensive secondary he is going to be covered with how many guys they got back there he knows he's got to hit something quick and there's Jones right at the stick for a first down Revan Hamlin or Hamlin to slow to get up wonder if he just cramped up there it's still decently warm still 85° after 10:00 local time out here in Utah a little over 2,000 ft of elevation so a little dry but not as dry as it is in Boseman no not quite it's much more deserty here in uh in Utah about three 3 hours away 3 hours from Vegas no less than that right 2 hours 2 hours from Vegas two hours from Vegas Cedar City where former Big Sky uh member Southern Utah is all right here we go first and 10 Bobcats able to convert on fourth down the snap to a lot he hands it off Scott Trey Humphrey up the middle he moves the pile toward the 15 yd line and they Mark him down the 16 yd line Second down for Montana state with a clock running at the 945 Mark in the third quarter and a 21 nothing lead for Montana State this MSU Run game it always delivers and Scot Trey Humphrey yet again he's been great tonight 241 yards on the ground for the Bobcats so far that's still climbing not including the last Rush cats had over 300 they had 362 yards on the ground against New Mexico last week Mountain West opponent that's not too shabby that was tied with Arizona early in the second quarter earlier haven't checked their score in a minute shotgun snap mot hands it off Humphrey probing across the 15 yd line line and he is down shy the 10 Mark him at the 12 between the hash marks and that'll bring up third and very manageable as the cat's trying to lean on this Utah Tech defensive line I will not let his patience go unnotice Humphrey has been awesome running the ball tonight and a lot of it has to do with him taking the time to diagnose see where he needs to go and then attack it time and CER checks back in for Montana State Ryan King the wide receiver to the left McCulla to the right schlep and L to the tight ends pistol formation Humphrey the running back to snap mot turns left hands it off Humphrey up the middle not much doing trying to push the pile forward to the 10 that's where his forward progress is stopped so it will be fourth and short two yard gain will be fourth and two and they brought a schle in motion that time and tried to run right behind him but Utah Tech was able to Stonewall that time and looks like we're going to see the field goal unit again Montana state is two for two on fourth down conversions but you're right we'll we will see it and this is you know I'm sure partly like look this is a field goal that's got to be made it's right down in the middle of the field there is the lightest of breezes that should not impact this thing and this will be about a 23 y Sullivan snaap usane puts it down sanset gets it up and this ball is through so 23 Y is converted and Montana State extends their lead they're up 24 to nothing as miles stanstead converts his first Collegiate field goal we'll take a break 7:45 to go in the third quarter Montana State up 24 to nothing over Utah Tech you're listening to Bobcat football presented by learfield the gallon Valley is thriving and Boseman is not tail game yeah swing in with a bunch of cheeseburgers and you're all set hello Linda fiser tuned in from Boseman tonight everybody staying up late with us 7:45 to go in the third quarter Montana stayed up 24 to nothing the defense pitching a shut out not only on the scoreboard but also in terms of first downs haven't allowed a single one today Brendon Hall kicks it away and this thing bounces off the foot of one of the cheerleaders almost hit a Stanley Cup too not quite there was a collection of like 40 Stanley Cups down there where the cheerleaders were as we walked by Stanley used to be you know the coal miners thing where you'd have uh some soup or coffee in that and you keep it warm all day that's uh that's not the case for Stanley anymore no they're just water bottles that's all they are really pretty ones they got great colors yeah super cool they still keep stuff cold or hot whatever you need it yeah and they're not a sponsor flast cap also keep thing very cold or hot just the way you need it yeah I'm big fan give away a lot of those at cat chat every Wednesday night at Buffalo Wild Wings at 6:30 if you want some bobcat merch come by BDubs on Wednesday nights here's the snap handoff end round going to the right side popped right at the line of scrimmage Falls forward to about the 27 yd line so very small gain Eric Olen on the end of round who's hurt think a bobcat yeah little slow to get up is that John Johnson I think so no Sime on Woodard a little slow to get he's on his feet now a little banged up and fall camp but he's on his feet now and being walked off and it'll jog right off moving both of his arms looks like he's okay 733 to go in the third Montana stayed up 24 to nothing our greater Zion Stadium they've done a nice job trying to renovate this thing they're trying to push this uh athletic department forward for the first time they are eligible for the FCS playoffs it's probably going to be a long stretch to get there in the UAC but they're trying to pump the facilities up they've got a decent recruiting footprint we'll see what they look like in a couple years yeah and by the looks of it they got a pretty decent fan base I mean the the crowd it's it's even darker in the stands than in the field but it looks like there's still a decent amount of people here snap throw down the right sideline caught on the other side of the 50 yd line Jette Estis with a heck of a snag no they're going to wave it off he was out of bounds official coming from downfield said he caught it but the linesman coming from the line of scrimmage said no well if they take a look at that and he did get in for whatever reason now he's out his right foot his right foot came down out of bounds that that footwork would have been impressive but not close or not close but not enough no yeah the right foot came down first it was a good foot or two out of bounds so still no first downs the Bobcats can get off the field again here facing third and eight for the Utah Tech offense at their own 27 yd line two receivers left one to the right the snap here's the throw to the right side that is caught on the other side of the 30 yd line shy of the first down marker yeah he's going to be two yards shy F the tight end was chugging for it but he comes up short fourth and short for the Utah Tech offense and they will come off the field and will punt it again the streak lives on yes it does that's great so the Bobcats continuing to do a nice job defensively Utah Tech has not reached the Bobcat uh side of the 50 they've only gotten as far as about the 35 yd line so far today offensively here's the snap the away Taco dollar with a fair catch at the 20 yd line hauls it in with two hands he's been pretty electric today that time calling for the fair catch 628 to go in the third quarter Bobcats up 24 nothing going to say kind of surprised they're not kicking it out of bounds yeah I mean basically at this point with uh with what Dollar's been able to do he's just so lightning fast and his his twin brother Kaden had a great descriptor of him just called him he called him slippery he is yeah he's impossible to to I remember watching him when I was doing high school games at Capital High they had a play playoff game out at Billings West when Taco was a sophomore and all of a sudden you look up and he's behind the final line of the defense every single time he had multiple plays of 50 plus yards so Montana State goes back to work offensively leading 24 nothing with 628 to go in the third quarter MSU today is rushed for 249 yards Tommy Lot 10 of 17 through the air for 105 passing yards and one touchdown to Rohan Jones as first as a bobcat the snap handed off Jared white running right turns up field across the 20 getting outside the numbers at the 30 he's down the right sideline at the 35 and he's knocked out of bounds First Carry of the year for Jared white and that turns into a First Interstate Bank first down up to the 35 yd line nice gashing play by Jared white the depth of this running back room or as the depth of the juice Squad I should probably say I mean it continues to show Jared white another guy who can really carry the Rock and that's just going to continue to pay off as this season goes on having that many guys you can rely on against Utah Tech last year White had 84 rushing yards on four carries and he had a 47 yard touchdown reception snap hand it off Jared white puts his right foot in the ground hurdles over a man at the 35 yd line and he is stopped at the 37 yd line for a two- yd gain second and eight from the right hash mark for the Bobcat offense yeah TJ talamon marks in the middle of that defense 63 320 making a play that time it's a big body how would you like to be able to listen to us while synced up to your TV in the comfort of your own home go to syncmygame.con state with the football second Drive of the second half going to work excuse me third Drive of the second half snap to mot he hands it off Jared white up the middle across the 35 pushes the pile to the 40 and he stopped there at the 41 nice job keeping his balance after the initial contact and Jared White Run in hard getting his first carries of the Season well not having a good direction to bounce in or out and get extra yards so instead he just stays behind his blocker puts his hand on his back and just kind of pushes him forward for as long as he can under five minutes to play in the third quarter the bob cats working that clock now catch can score here you might see some other quarterbacks in that fourth quarter potentially now they'd like to get some of those guys in Man in Motion from right to left the snap mot fakes the hand off throws into the flat on the right side caught on that right side line for a first down across the 45 yd line Rohan Jones is out of bounds after picking up the first down at the 50 yd line I'm really a big fan of Rohan Jones I like the different ways he's being used he's he's an xfactor for this offense that's what they were hoping after the graduation of Derrik Snell and he very much looks like Derk Snell same number two Sante King into the ball game spread out to the right side now danne Steel in there along with Tai McCulla the receivers lot takes the shotgun snap he hands it off Jared white up the middle across the 50 to the 45 yd line shoves off a man then gets grabbed there shy of the 40 a nice Hardy run by Jared white he down him at the 42 yd line and it'll be second and short second and two the Run game continues to deliver monana State 362 yards last week approach in 300 yd today 330 to go in the third quarter the Bobcats really trying to put together a back Blake breaking drive here trying to put this thing away before they get to the fourth quarter honestly they could take this drive down into the fourth quarter if they do it right two receivers right one to the left little pressure in the middle shown here's the snap mot throws into the flat King makes the catch and the defender right there to tackle him quickly did fall forward and he is within a yard of that first down marker yeah I like the idea there but a nice job by the cornerback getting up there and being ready to greet the receiver King as he caught the ball Amari Duncan on the Stop Sacramento native so that'll bring up third and one tronte King spread out to the left side Hunter Province the tight end on the left side of the line Jared white is the running back now one receiver out to the right side looks like Mulla Bach under Center cats need a yard for first down snap hand it off Jared white up the middle he's got the first down to the 40 stopped to the 35 yd line pushed from behind and he falls forward up to the 31 yd line Jared white converts first inter state bank first down for the Bobcats and a clock bleeding Drive continues into Utah Tech territory Jared white looks great right now just making guys miss and doing a lot of good different things he's physical he's got a little footwork as well to you know Juke some guys he's he's just showing a lot of Versatility a different ways he can move that ball forward right now I'm very impressed he was you know listed as the third running back going into last week but that was really more about what Adam Jones did rather than Jared white failing in any way yes Jared white getting into a rhythm here on this drive having a nice first couple of touches of the season the snap and I think a fall start get the call here Marcus Weir the fall start Jared white approaching 50 yards on this drive but now the Bobcats will back up their first penalty of the second half after they had five penalties for 40 yards in the first half I'm you know we're talking about how good this running back room is Julius Davis isn't even out there tonight I mean they they just got some dudes yeah he's got a shot to get back at some point this year not sure when but got a lot of guys there I need to get this offensive line healthy yeah they do now we got another whistle we go Bobcats will use a timeout hey Bobcat fans when you you buy Bobcat products at MSU Bookstore you can help lower the price of course materials for Montana State students shop online at Bobcat Stadium or on campus MSU booksto is your Bobcat gear headquarters Montana State up 24 nothing with 12 3 to go in the third quarter Weber State underway up in Seattle they Trail Washington 14 to nothing with 2 minutes to go in the second quarter today Idaho gave Oregon a run for their money but they ended up losing by 10 on the road they're in the fourth quarter in Missoula and Montana leads 2617 Missouri State deep in the red zone right now offensively [Music] first and 15 for the Bobcats in the middle of the field they're backed up to the 36 yd line in Utah Tech territory one receiver right two to the left Jared white the running back the snap mot turns left play action he looks to throw fires to the left sideline caught by Tai Mulla contested catch at the 25 yd line tackled immediately and a really nice catch by Tai Mulla that's I think what makes him so good A lot of people can catch a football out of a jug machine can you catch a football with a 200lb defensive back draping over you Ty Mulla is the X Factor for this passing game this season with MSU I mean he's just got such a versatile skill set at that position he can beat you in so many different ways he's explosive but he's also good in the short routes First Catch for Mulla today after he was the star receiver last week second and three for Montana State at the 24 yd line the snap handed off Jared white trying to gain the edge to the outside he turns up field at the 25 yd line but nowhere to go ends up with a one or two yard loss that'll bring up third down yeah trying to go outside there no room to run and a good Pursuit by that Utah Tech defense getting out out towards the sideline Montana State sitting at about 290 yards on the ground right now Tommy mot 13 of 20 through the year 127 yards two receivers to the left Jared white in the back field once again 3 seconds and then two as we wind down the third quarter Zero's on the clock and that is the end of the third quarter there's no scoreboard or clock uh that uh to our left behind that end zone that Tommy mot was looking into so couldn't see that clock winding down and that ends the third quarter we head to the fourth Montana State leading Utah Tech up 24 to nothing and they are driving facing a third down deep in Trailblazer territory when we come back you're listening to Bobcat football presented by learfield hi former Bobcat lose Salo for restler Motors our team proudly supports MCU Bobcat football both on and off the field I want to wish the fourth quarter Montana State up 24 to nothing and they're driving right now and uh Daniel this is just the drive the Bobcats were looking for right now yeah bleeding some clock and now they find themselves in a you know kind of third and five type situation which isn't going to be easy but they've shown they can move the ball but the biggest thing is getting points out of this situation furthering your lead and again burning some time off the clock and tip of the captain Jared white who's been the Premier Ball Carrier he's getting his burn right now and giving the other two guys who have been out there a lot of rest and that's these are all good things all things you look for once you continue to build on these leads late in the game Montana State's had some long drives today had a 12 uh 12pl drive that ended up in a missed field goal attempt and a 13pl drive that ended the same in the second quarter this is going to be the 10th play of this drive so this will be the fourth drive of double digit plays for the Bobcat uh Bobcat offense two receivers bunched up to the left side Jared white is the running running back of the pistol formation Bob catch the 26 yd line facing third and five on the right hash snap to mot turns right fakes the hand off bootle out to his left he throws caught by Hunter Province outside the numbers at the 20 yd line to the 1510 Province Cuts back inside he carries a man toward the goal line and he is down at the one Hunter Province a big catch and run they convert the first down and it's first and goal to go from the one he was close man Shifty moves by the SoCal native caught that ball inside the numbers got outside the numbers at about the 10 and then just started bringing his man toward the goal line he dragged two Defenders pretty darn close nice job blocking out in the open field once again by Ryland schle as well that guy's been a beast tonight this is a bobcat offense and part of their backbone is that tight end position coach by head coach Brent vegan former tight end in his own right with a yard to go oh the snap fakes the handoff mot up the middle diving forward and he is in touchdown Montana State second rushing touchdown of the day for Tommy mot the 31st of his career there's some more Tommy magic although mot a little banged up and he is laying on his back now they're checking out that right leg hopefully just a cramp but mot down on his back now and a Boseman Health injury timeout and this is the kind of thing that would derail the Bobcat season if mot ends up hurt in any way shape or form Jordan Reed is the backup quarterback chance Wilson number three quarterback Patrick duchaine traveling as the holder but he would technically be the fourth quarterback for the Bobcats yeah when whenever you got a player who's special like Tommy mot you want to make sure you got him out there kind of stretching out his calves as he lays on his back so again hopefully this is just a cramp but mot hurt in the end zone after scoring on the one- yard rushing touchdown his second rushing touchdown of the day the 31st of his career Maine is up next then the by week then mercy Hurst which is in their first year at D1 and then it's off to Idaho state after that ow State lost to Oregon State earlier today to open up their season they ran out at least three quarterbacks last time I checked in that loss against the Beavers we a Boseman Health injury timeout and Tommy mot they've got his they're like holding up his legs over his waist kind of checking his ankles Brent vegan strolling out now and they're taking some time to make sure Tommy's all right haven't seen a replay yet this is really the worst fear of bobcat fans if bot is hurt for any period of time this year there's just no replacing him yeah again one of the all-time greats not a not a very replaceable piece was a Toyota RAV for fourth quarter touchdown vegan went over shortly and now turns around and walks away so hopefully that means it's not too serious when the Bobcat score a touchdown during the fourth quarter which just happened at any home or away game during the regular season four lucky fans will be selected to win a prize sign up today at msubobcats.com R4 the number four all right we're taking a break 1402 to go in the ball game Montana stayed up 30 to nothing over Utah Tech after a one yard rushing touchdown by Tommy mot but he is down and injured right now so we have a Boseman Health injury timeout we're taking a break you're listening to Bob Cat football presented by learfield are you looking for a your room today we're back as the bob cats have just scored a touchdown but at what cost Tommy W in for a score from a yard out he is walking off the field now but with a lot of help from the trainers he's walking pretty gingerly he's kind of putting weight on both feet they had both of his feet lifted up in the air and he is walking off extremely uncomfortably imagine he's done for the day they're going to line up the point after attempt now with 1402 to go in the ball game and you just hope this isn't in a long-term Serious injury for mot here's the snap the hold is down the right footed kick is up and that kick is good kico kick converted after the Toyota fourth quarter touchdown yeah mot H he's not looking great coming off the off the field right now yeah it was down there they were looking at him for a long time neegan over there taking a look at him Connor Moore who left the game with an apparent injury had ice on his left shoulder over there to check in on him as well they're going to sit mot down on the trainers table and hopefully this is not long term all right did they call for a timeout I don't think so cats are out to go line up the kickoff here no they're not calling for the time out yeah the red hat was just communicating with the referee yes but also do that on the sideline yeah it's very misleading it really is and for people who don't know the inside baseball of that is uh you know there there's somebody with a red hat they're the ones to call for the TV timeouts they come out on the field at about the 10 yd line on the Press Box side that's how we know when to go to for a commercial break so it's easy to get deep but we're good 31 nothing bobcats in front with the one-yard touchdown run by Tommy mot who did get hurt on the last play he's sitting on the bench right now talking to Jordan Reed chance Wilson here's the kickoff by Brendan Hall and that one is once again into the end zone for another Touchback Interwest moving and storage is the official moving company of the MSU Bobcats Jared White had some good run on that last drive by the Bobcats it was a long clock churning drive for Montana State 7 Minutes 26 seconds their second longest drive of the day they also had a 7-minute 40 second drive and let's see if the cats defense can continue to pitch a shut out zero first downs allowed today let's keep it going they're locked in no first Downs only 15 yards to the air 26 yards on the ground for Utah Tech so it's been a banner day for the Bob catd the snap play action Deacon Hill throws over the middle of the field caught for a first down at the 50 yd line up to the 40 yd line it was the starting tight end for lie who was able to get down the field and make the catch beating taton gray who's just checked into the game as one of the nickel backs he's out there Neil dy's out there Tyson pottinger a lot of new faces on the Bobcat defense Montana State trying to get a little deeper into the defense now here's the snap play action again thrown out to the left side out to the 35 yd line 30 after it was caught and then down at the 25 yd line nice little catch and run by Daniel Thompson out in the flat they pick up backto back first downs nice job by Taki L Kea flying in to break that or to shut that down after the game mot by the way not in any injury 10 he's just sitting down right now not really getting inspected some teammates coming over to check on him snap here's the run Deacon Hill try to get to the outside and he's going for the pylon he's in touchdown Utah Tech from 24 yards out so Deacon Hill keeping it gains The Edge on the right side and he scores the rushing touchdown yeah that's a big man moving downhill right there and it looked like Taki might have the angle but he lowered that shoulder he wasn't going to take no for an answer there going for that pylon he pulled it out of the belly of his running back Saw the space on the right side cruised to the end zone did take a hit right at the goal line but was able to get in Fairly easily and Utah Tech with a quick burst so they find a little bit of offensive momentum here 31-6 cats in front and a point after coming up well we saw the twos out there on defense for a series and uh didn't necessarily go as planned I imagine starters might be making their way back out next time out Pat is good and Utah Tech finds their way on the board 31 to7 Montana state in front 13 minutes 3 seconds to go in the ball game and we'll step aside you're listen to Bobcat football presented by learfield it's the season of Home Improvement and mic cam on the Montana State athletics YouTube page I'm Katon gley along with Daniel Sally up at the First Interstate Bank broadcast Booth Dylan mcf's our on-site engineer Dan Davies is with us but we had a few technical difficulties with the wireless mic so Dan's been unable to pitch in quite as much as he usually does which is obviously a big loss but uh we will hear him talk with Coach vegan after the game as we did at halftime as well Tommy mad appeared to uh did get hurt on the Oney touchdown run that he had on the last Drive can't imagine he's coming back in here he's sitting on the bench right now kickoff is a lowline drive kick that ends up out of bounds lands in the air at the two yd line but out of bounds so mot we're not really sure what happened he was laying on his back as he was getting inspected after the touchdown run they had his kind of feet up in the air over his hips and he is sitting on the bench now no helmet on and uh just a water bottle a lot of a lot of guys have come up to check on it they don't seem too concerned I hope but we're really just reading body language yeah absolutely you know tough angle from us I mean opposite corner of the field from where we're standing up here in the booth so like you said looking over on the sidelines with the binoculars it doesn't look like anything's too pressing he's just kind of hanging out over there but you just hope he's all right right he's not still being inspected so hopefully that's a good sign we're really just looking for a silver lining yes so Jordan Reed is into the ball game the sophomore from California he threw a touchdown pass against Utah Tech last year in the Gold Rush game game he's a big man he's 66-28 Jordan Reed takes the snap hands it off Jared white probing on the right side across the 35 they stop him at the 36 yd line one yd game Jordan Reed had a touchdown pass last year his first and only of his career so far it was to Ryland schlep and with that touchdown P pass schlep became the first Gallatin Raptor to ever score a division one touchdown that's awesome course galleton starting in 2020 R schle part of that kind of first early class that has reached Bobcat football there's certainly more to come absolutely of course a strong lineage of Bosman Hawks who have worn the blue and gold the snap Reed turns left he hands it off Jared white big push on the offensive line he pushes it Forward up to the 40 yd line about a four maybe five yard gain third down coming up it looks like for the most part the uh the starting unit's still out there but Everett Carr in the game now in the offensive line as well speaking of bosan hawks his second career game the Boseman Alum it's up 20 pounds from last year Shan har SAR Jefferson still in there Jaden Perkins checked into the game earlier Conor Moore hasn't had his shoulder pads for a while appeared to bang up his shoulder snap Jordan Reed to throw clean pocket fires low incomplete had a man at the first first down marker but just skipped it in there intended for Aiden garan on the left sideline a three and out for the Bobcat twos and Brandon Hall will punt from left to right with Bobcats up 317 1137 to go in the fourth quarter know what's below tap click or call 811 Before You Dig brought to you by Montana 811.org cats are still pretty comfortably in front in this game but Utah Tech did just Shred the Bobcat second strength defense on the last Drive yeah like I said earlier I imagine especially with them not coming away with any points on this drive and punting it away that we're going to see some of those starters back out there Tommy Sullivan snaps it Brendon Hall makes the catch with the right footed kick gets it away they did not have anybody back they went out after it so this ball bounces the 20 rolls to the 15 down to the 10 inside the five and it's down to the four yd line so they had no Return Man back they were just coming straight after that punt and uh that was another big bombing kick by Brendan Hall yeah some issues with the field goal unit early on but Taco dallor and Brendan Hall have been the silver lining the bright spots of the Special Teams unit for Montana State tonight so another 50 plus yard from Brendan Hall he had 10 of those out of his 34 punts last year 31-7 Montana State in front he 1125 to go in the fourth quarter Utah Tech backed up their own four yd line looks like the twos are going to stay out there Keaton you got to figure it out here snap Deacon Hill to throw fires over the middle caught at the 10 yd line angling to the right side tackled across the 20 yd line by taten gray first down for Utah Tech Ball Deep Utah Tech field so MSU rushes six there in the end up giving up a ball right over the middle here's the snap Hill play action throws incomplete Neil Dy on the coverage Jake vegan's into the game Talon Marsh is into the game as well so Zack black also Dominic Solano is coming along nicely freshman from Arizona BR sc's in there getting some run Andrew Powell still in at the cornerback position Tako L lppa and Tyson pottinger are the two safeties right now and tari Carr one of the cornerbacks in as well excited to see Talon Marsh out there he was a monster at Helen a capital here's the snap handoff Osborne running right and he's tackled from behind that was Solano got the stop yeah Marshall was a beast not just footall yeah was a pretty loaded team he had his senior year 31 to7 Montana state in front 1040 to go in the fourth quarter Utah Tech taking some time here well here it is a chance for these guys out there some of them playing their first action of the night to to get a stop Utah Tech scored on their last drive against the twoos snap Deacon Hill to throw fires to the outside of the right side incomplete intended Chris Street and a nice job by Bryce gby getting out into the flat that time cuz it was looking like a pretty clean window but then he starts making his way over there underthrown by Hill and looks like the Bobcats are going to have a chance to return another PT with Taco doar so they did get the Stop and taco doar is back to receive the punt here's the snap right footed kick up in the air Taco dollar back at his own 35 makes a two-handed catch he runs right stops on the left hash mark and tripped up around the ankles so he is down to the 3 6 yd line 1012 to go in the ball game Montana State leading 31-7 Bobcats left the football next but first a timeout again 10 12 to go in the game Montana State up 31 to7 over Utah Tech they have the football when we come back you're listening to Bobcat football presented by learfield when a power line has fallen down it can be downright dangerous and even deadly that's because down lines can still energize the ground and object objects around them to help keep you and others safe NorthWestern Energy says stay at least 35 ft or the length of a semit TR away from a down power line and anything the line is mot injured on a rushing touchdown he is still on the bench and will not return to the game we assume with the game mostly lopsided right now mot is on his feet looks like he's kind of stretching out his ankle or his calf kind of lower body so we'll see well I guess it's time to dial up another one of those seven-minute drives yeah cats have had two of those today snap to Jordan Reed turns right hands it off Jared white bounces it to the right side across the 40 outside the hash mark where he's tackled across the 41 yd line 5 yard gain for Jared white doing a nice job as he's gotten some run here in the second half today yeah Jared white looks great out there I mean no two ways about it and between him Jones Humphrey it's just been a a rushing clinic by Montana State catch up to 298 rushing yards today trying to go Eclipse 300 rushing yards to start the season in both of their first two games looking to go to one and0 Utah Tech their season opener today snap to Jordan Reed hands it off Jared white probing to the left side across the 40 and he is stopped in between the hash marks at the 42 maybe 43 yd line depending on the spots samor ziel back in the game at left tackle as well third down coming up Aiden Kaplan working as the center right now so trying to get nice and Deep Zack ning into the game as well on the offensive line Coulson back as a running back now seventh career game looking for his first Carry of his career three receivers left one to the right to snap they hand it off up the middle across the 45 tackled shy of the 50 yard line and Coulson his first Collegiate carry and it turns this game into a 300 yd rushing game it was 299 before that Rush an injured Trailblazer on the turf but Coulson a red shirt freshman from Sheridan and he has a nice run there to convert and pick up the first down yeah he stopped on a dime as soon as he took that hand off and put on the shifters nice little gain so Coulson was going to be a walk- on Commit at Mississippi State and then the tragic passing of Mike Leech that was when he decided to change things up come here to Montana State he had a 500 yard rushing game in a single game in the state semi-finals when he was in high school man if he's getting up that high it must have been a tight one too I'm sure it was a shootout if he was getting enough carries to get to 500 yards his senior year 2,499 rushing yards 34 touchdowns yeah that's ridiculous very well-deserved Gatorade player of the year I don't need to hear what everyone else did that's that's plenty for me yeah he was a two-time Wyoming Gatorade Player of the Year well happy to have him the injured Utah Tech player is up and on his feet now Jagger Williams okay 836 to go in the ball game Montana State up 31 to7 Rohan Jones had a receiving touchdown today Adam Jones with a touchdown today as well Tommy mot with two Taco dollar had a couple of big punt returns today didn't make it into the end zone but helped set up some scores Jordan Reed in a pistol formation for the Bobcats just shy of the 50 yard line for first down the first down snap turns right hands it off probing up the middle across the 50 yd line tackled shy of the 45 nice gain by as he collects his first Collegiate rushing yards tonight in St George good for him he looks great out there the juice Squad is the gift that keeps on giving need it now at a point like this kind of a grinder game it's hot out there your quarterback got hurt although hopefully it's not extended injury and you know mot he was probably coming out of the game after that last drive when he scored anyway pistol formation from the right hash mark on second and five the snap play action Reed rolling out to his left throws on the run through the hands of Hunter Province who was at the first down marker inside the numbers that was right on the money that was chest high and hit him in stride and Hunter Province his great hands just didn't stick it yeah and like you said a good ball and he had the angle to get well past that first down marker stay down in bounds and keep that clock moving but here we are now third down with the clock stopped danne steel into the ball game now still looking for his first Collegiate catch Steel and the coons great football families from the state of Wisconsin or Wisconsin Wyoming snap Reed rolling out to his left throws on the Run incomplete looking at that first down marker intended for steel we got Wisconsin tonight we got Georgia and that'll bring up fourth down so Brendan Hall will punt this thing away won't have a 50 y on this one lineing up at the 47 yd line in Utah Tech territory and Hall will punt this thing away with the cats up 31-7 Sullivan over the football on the right hash mark here's the snap knee high Hall puts his right foot into it it's at the 10y yard line a fair catch called for and it's hauled in behind the 10 yd line all right let's pause 10 seconds for our Network station identification you're listening to Montana State football XL country 100.7 KX lb Churchill Boseman Belgrade also in Livingston on translator k254 I'm Katon glogle alongside Daniel Sally M Dylan mcf is up the booth and Dan Davies is down on the sideline today with Will Gordon as our producer today looking ahead for the Bobcats presented by Vance Thompson Vision the official lasic and cataract surger the Montana State Bobcats the main black bears make the long trip out to Boseman going at 6:00 on Saturday next week Maine W their opener on Friday night against Colgate winning 17-4 at a nip and Tuck finish snap and a handoff run up the middle nowhere to go Neil Daly in there for the stop going to bring up second down for the Utah Tech offense trailing 31-7 with 712 to go in the game the clock running yeah very nicely done by Dy shedding a block right there and getting to the ball carrier before he could gain too much Brock steel out there at the safety position right now with Tyson pottinger in the back or in the secondary Bryce gevy Neil daily the linebackers the snap Deacon Hill to throw fires to the flat on the left side caught but a quick sure-handed tackle Bryce gby was there to wrap him up Shy of the 15 yd line they give him the 14 yd line they'll bring up third down lot of action tonight for Bryce gby and he's been great in pass coverage yeah he really has been especially covered some of those tight ends they've got a pretty good tight end he just transferred over here and he's done a nice job on him yeah he's stretching out there towards the sideline and covering a lot of ground Talon Marsh Jake vegan in the middle of the defensive line also Logan Frederickson getting some run the snap Hill to throw on third down fires into the flat caught shy of the 20 yd line for first down he was able to fall forward that was the tight end f e the UMass transfer it's Brock steel there coming downhill playing a nice hit Brock steel third-year sophomore playing in his eighth career game 545 to go in the game clock running Montana stayed up 31 to7 Utah Tech with a first down they didn't get their first first down until the fourth quarter snap play action throw it into the flat caught on the other side of the 20 and popped out of bounds by Bryce greby at about the 25 yd line I've been impressed with Bryce gre's tackling ability I just feel like if he gets his hands on you you're going down yeah he's doing everything right at that linebacker position he's covering sideline to sideline he's got great Pursuit angles and one-on-one he's making those tackles when he needs to now the snap hand off trying to bounce it to the outside Chris Street breaks one tackle and tackled out of bounds up near the 35 to 34 first down for the Utah Tech offense and a Trailblazer is down and injured can't see quite who it is we do remind you yeah your support through the Bobcat Collective Powers n iel opportunities for our Bobcat student athletes helping them thrive on and off the field join today and make a real impact the Trailblazer is down and being attended to get you some of the scores around the Big Sky today Oregan beat Idaho 24 to4 Idaho did a nice job in that one they scored all 14 of their points in the second half Washington State over Portland State 70 to 30 today Montana hangs on late against Missouri State at home they win at 2 924 Eastern Washington beat Monmouth 4227 kakoa as sparis had five passing touchdowns three of them to Fon Chisum the third cats have to go to Eastern Washington this year it's going to be a tough one their toughest games are at home but still got to go to Idaho State they can score a lot of points go to Portland State that can get weird over there if you're not careful got to go to UC Davis that one's going to be tough they played cow pretty tough today yeah UC Davis is really good team they've been one of the better programs in this league for the last five plus years so Montana state right now leading 31-7 515 to go in the fourth quarter still attending to an injured Trailblazer he is up on his feet the tight end we've been talking about any fi only came in with three career receptions for 26 yards but he's had a good day today he's being helped off the field hopefully it's nothing serious had four catches for 27 yards today tell me W lot went 14 of 21 through the air 152 yards and a touchdown cat have 310 yards on the ground it's gotot Trey Humphrey another 100 yards so back toback 100 yards to open the season for Humphrey here we go here's the first down snap Hill throws over the middle caught at the 40 yd line for a 6yd gain outside left hash mark quick Tackle by the Bobcat defense and Hill I mean coach vegan talked about it all week but he can really rip that ball he's got the big arm big recruit but really struggled at Iowa last year yes fortunately for him in a lot of ways became a bit of a a laughing stock for Iowa fans and they just I mean they they kind of wore him out unfortunately so now here at Utah Tech trying to establish himself as Bobcat is down hard to see I think that might be Bryce greby but I can't confirm the number thought the same thing but again wasn't able to see it when he was laying there so a lot going on today injuries on both sides I don't know how clean either team is coming out of this ball game Mountain Cold refreshment made to chill 2024 Kors Brewing Golden Colorado celebrate responsibly 442 to go in the ball game Montana State up 31-7 trying to close out a two and0 start to the year Tommy mot did get hurt today on a touchdown run hopefully just we have no idea how serious it is Conor Moore got banged up today he didn't play most of the second half Jaden Perkins was in the guard spot and right now Bobcat is down and injured but can't quite see the number yeah late in a game like this you just multiple injury timeouts something you really don't want to see but a bit of a sloppy game for Montana State they have been able to run the football we mentioned Humphrey had 104 rushing yards mot six carries for 71 rushing yards and two touchdowns Jared white 10 for 49 really on two drives today Adam Jones 10 for 46 on the the ground yeah it was Bryce greby who's now up on his feet and walking off under his own power so the cats will go a little deeper in the linebacker room Ryan CA is in Great Falls native both teams going a little bit deep here second and three from their own 41 yd line for Utah Tech Montana State up 31 to7 snap to Hill he hands it off Osborne trying to bounce it to the outside and not much doing picks up maybe a yard that'll bring up third down yeah clock's going to keep on moving here and the Bobcats have a chance to put it back in the hands of their offense with the stop here I imagine everything's four down territory from here on out for Utah attch especially as they get closer to Midfield but if Montana State can find a way to turn this third and two into a stop they should be able to kind of milk the rest of the clock next time they get the ball and put this thing away yeah this is feeling like a bit of an injury plagued finish he feels like you just want to get this thing done up 31 to7 heading home next week de with the bye and then mercy Hurst which is a team that just came up from D2 to D1 snap Deacon Hill designed quarterback run and he Dives for the first down don't know that he got there there ball came loose but it was after the fact Dominic Solano with a heck of a tackle we'll see if they got the stop there and he did I know sometimes as a d lineman you get up there get up field and it's not easy to make that tackle you get excited once you have all that space around you but that's a nice job by Solano still able to wrap up and make that play not run by his man Intermountain Health Formerly Known ascl Health in Big Sky country is proud to be an official Health partner of Montana State athletics you Tech Will punt here on fourth and one 40 from their own 43 yd line the snap right footed kick that is up Taco doer will let it bounce it lands at the five takes a nice hop and bounces out of bounds nice punt very nicely done that's the coffing corner when the Bobcat score touchdown during the fourth quarter at any home or away game during the regular season four lucky fans will be selected to win a prize sign up today at msubobcats.com raf4 the number four 258 to go in the ball game Montana State up 31-7 looking to close this thing out we all remind you that serving all your garage door needs doortech is raising the door on quality so Montana State looking to finish this thing off go to 2 and0 on the road before heading home they'll have two home games over the next three weeks then Big Sky play starts going off to Idaho State Tommy mot status now in question after the injury today you will update is some point next week he'll be asked about it plenty oh I'm sure he will but right now with a 31 to7 seven lead and under 3 minutes to go you get this thing down to the two-minute timeout and then uh off we go with Utah Tech punting the ball there too I imagine they're probably not going to use their three timeouts so Montana State backed up at their own three yard line Jordan Reed under Center here the running back the snap turns right hands it off up the middle Dives across the five and he is stopped at the seven yd line and a nice job by Utah Tech right there their uh defensive tackle is TJ ton marks he did a nice job not letting the center get up to the second level but that didn't stop from getting some extra yards so looking sharp today bcats over 300 rushing yards approaching 700 rushing yards on the season it's week one that's crazy man of course they played in week zero they're leading the nation right now snap Reed hands it off Cuts back left gets across the 10 yd line and Falls forward again boy he made a man miss in a foam booth in the backfield yeah he he's really showing off his footwork today and it's just been really impressive every time he's touched the ball between him Jared white Adam Jones Scott Trey Humphrey you keep going down the list these guys keep coming out they're running behind that Donjoy Mafia and they're producing we've hit the two-minute timeout Montana State leading 31-7 so Montana state has the final two-minute timeout here as they get ready to close this thing down again Montana State up 31-7 don't believe we have any more uh play-by-play breaks here I think we're oh we do good we're taking one more break two minutes to go in the ball game Montana State up 31 to7 over Utah Tech you're listen to Bobcat football presented by learfield hello tomorrow we may not know exactly what you've got in store for us for our routines and our conducting research in the heart of Yellowstone National Park or even creating small shelter prototypes to address homelessness Montana State University think outside two minutes to go in the game Montana State facing third and one at their own 12 yd line leading 31-7 over Utah Tech Jordan Reed is the quarterback for Montana state right now Tommy mad had two rushing touchdown J but also did leave with an apparent injury and now we're ready to go snap to Reed flag thrown hand off to he gets to the 15 yd line picks up the first down so First Interstate Bank first down but a Trailblazer jumped off sides there I imagine they'll probably decline that and keep this thing moving just cut out there they do take it because it gets to that first down and moves you up a little further I guess by the way they had picked up the first down but doesn't matter too much there we go the clock keeps running so 150 and running this game winding down Montana State up 31 to7 we've seen some injuries today Conor Moore banged up Bryce graby today uh Tommy wot don't know how extensive any of those injuries are pistol formation snap Reeds hands it off hits the line of scrimmage and not much doing tries to spin forward and picked up about a yard now on second down they should be able to kneel this thing out could be counting wrong 75 seconds left in the game I think I'm off by a few seconds that's a hard math that's that hard clock math 60 seconds to go second and nine Montana State leading 31 to7 about to finish this thing off snap Reed turns left hands it off up the middle skips across the 20 ooh shoelace tackle across the 25 yd line down at the first down marker gave him a generous spot very very generous now they can kneel it out that best playing football there it is so the Bobcats will win it it's been a bit of a foregone conclusion for about a quarter and a half they're going to snap this football out of the shotgun formation on first down Reed takes it turns left hands it off up the middle spins at the 30 yd line gets another three yards along the right hash mark and that will do it final 10 seconds winding down Montana State 3 20 plus yards on the ground before that last one is calculated and the Bobcats earned the victory 31-7 so they Pound The Rock on the ground the defense was excellent they did not give up a first down until the fourth quarter biggest question coming out of this are some of the injuries but either way Bobcats get the win on the road and they get finally back to home next week yeah and I think one of the biggest things is you know you the offensive execution wasn't where it needed to be in the first half and I thought they did a nice job cleaning that up in the second half we also saw them knock through a couple field goals so that's you know all good things so two Miss field goals one uh converted field goal from 24 yards they were perfect on the Pats Montana state gets the win today they got to play deep into the roster they hold Utah tchas six first downs all in the fourth quarter today they gave up 103 passing yards and 68 rushing yards that's it on the defensive side for the Bobcats 147 through the air 335 officially on the ground all right we'll take a break Montana state gets the win 31-7 over Utah Tech they're 2 and0 Utah Tech start o And1 they've got UNLV next week then they have Na and UC Davis before they get into conference play so they're playing a couple of Big Sky schools we'll take a break cats win it 31 to7 against Utah Tech you're listen to bcat football presented by learfield open game welcome to the ribon Chop House postgame show Katon gole alongside Daniel Sally Dan Davies will join us in a bit and we will hear from head coach Brent vegan as Montana State wins it today 31-7 we saw some guys get a little banged up today that's really kind of the biggest story right now Tommy mot went off with an apparent injury after scoring a one-yard touchdown run uh it was a second rushing touchdown of the day he's still walking pretty gingerly on the sideline but he is walking around Bryce Grey went out uh injured late but he was walking around had his helmet up while he was singing the fight song Marcus Weir was limping around a little bit Conor Moore was banged up he didn't play the second half so Daniel this is a game where yeah the cats got a win they're two and0 but you are a little concerned with that injury bug that cropped up today yeah and I know it's early in the season but how many times do we find ourselves just in the football World late in the season talking about well the team that's going to make it the furthest is the team that stays the healthiest so you you want to see them you know make it through games like this especially when you have a big lead late you want to see him make him through games like this healthy and the amount of injury timeouts in this game was just very unfortunate across the board well yeah you saw Tech had a number of injuries in this game as well so hopefully it's nothing too serious the bright spot here for Montana State their most difficult non-conference game was the first against New Mexico they should be favored against Maine next week they got Maine's got a long trip they got to go up to Elevation so they're going to be favored against Maine then you have a mercy HST team that was a late ad to the the uh schedule because Sten F Austin got out of their contract so Mercy HST is a team that just got went went up from D2 to D1 so the catch should be the bigger bigger team in that matchup and then you have uh Big Sky play starting on SE September 28th so all things considered with a bye-week in there if there are injuries right now you are going to have some time to heal up yeah you you you feel good about how the schedule looks uh throughout the rest of September for the most part I mean and most importantly they got a good stretch of home games coming up you know they not only are they projected to be the the favored team but they're also playing at home which plays into that as well with the bye in the middle and the bye coming a week earlier than it would have if they had been playing their original schedule with Stephen F Austin so that helps as well you get that as soon as you can indulge in exceptional experiences at Montana's ribbon Chop House our passionate Team sets University think outside back at the ribbon shop house post game show Montana State Victorious they win it 31-7 today all right uh up next uh it's time to hear from head coach Brent vegan here's Dan Davies get that here in just a second we'll hear from coach vegan after the win Montana State going to two and0 with the victory all right we are here with Coach Brent vegan here after a 31-7 victory over Utah Tech uh got some things cleaned up there in that second half you feel better about that yeah you know we had uh another quarter of Defense where we didn't give up a first down and then offensively I think we were able to put some things together get a couple scores I know we made another uh play the Special Teams too with uh with Taco returning returning a punt uh we made a field goal there at the same time so yeah I was uh that third quarter in particular I know when we got in the fourth quarter uh we made some substitutions and that's a great thing about a game like this a lot of guys got in the game and you only learned by doing and you know I know that second crew defense gave up that score but then they they went back out there and um you know I thought played a lot better after that so uh you know Old Line wise right now we're we're pretty thin but uh hopefully the Cal is coming over the next couple weeks any uh updates I see Conor Moore had his shoulder P pads off there any updates on how he is I don't think anything um longterm by any means but uh you know we'll find out uh more tomorrow but I don't think it was it was more precautionary than anything else and then uh several several guys had some cramping issues that's going to happen in conditions like this yeah you know and more tonight than we had um last week and I don't know if that's a product of uh the the later kick um you know it was it was a it was a wasn't as hot today but I don't know heat doesn't always have it all all to do with it it's it's staying hydrated and the length of that game boy that game seemed like that took forever so I don't know if it's a combination of all those things and ultim that's what happened to Tommy Tommy cramped up uh both legs actually so um yeah we got to keep you know it's going to be hot next week I'm imagin B man we got to keep uh doing everything we can to avoid you know losing guys in games like that well we were talking here right before we started that to be in two and 0 with two Road wins I don't know there's many teams in America uh are in that situation yeah I think to go on a road um two like entirely different uh environments uh different teams uh both with you know the advantage of of us not really knowing what they're doing um you know and and playing in the heat both times we'll take it you know I think we got uh plenty to improve upon coming back home uh but it is it's comforting to know we are going back home uh get chance to play in Bobcat Stadium Gold Rush next uh Saturday in front of our own fans can't wait for it what do you know about uh the main the main bears at this point well I know they won uh last night I think uh 174 over over Colgate um I know the guy carrying the ball jari Martin I know that she uh lead their leading rusher I think we can scored to go ahead touchdown um you know for us we our third opponent at least we'll have some some game film to go off of I I know um you know they're out of the ca they uh you know they're going to come out with this being a great opportunity um to play in front of our our fans and our environment I know that that gets other teams going and we got to be able to obviously exceed whatever they give us those gold t-shirts going to be ready for the Bobcats to run out of that BAC I sure hope so yeah we need that the crowd there you know you go on the road a couple weekends um you know you can't wait to get back there so we looking forward to next uh Saturday night great congratulations again yeah thanks a lot good cat guys uh back up to you all right appreciate Dan and as bob cats get the victory 31 to7 we'll take a break Dan Davies will join us after this timeout we'll wrap everything up as Montana state starts 2 and0 with the win at Utah Tech Rond Chop House postgame show Montana State winds it 31-7 I'm Katon Googy alongside Daniel Sally and Dan Davies and Dan apologize for some of the technical issues with the wireless gear but uh happy to have you up here and talking to vegan a little bit but uh what were the conditions how was the weather down there what was it like down there you know once the sun went down it was very comfortable and and not not that hot per se I think a lot of the cramping happened with the hydration that was uh didn't didn't occur earlier in the day so I know those guys were throwing water down and drinking pickle juice and eating mustard or whatever it is to to try to alleviate some of those cramps but um it it was a it was coach vegan was saying it wasn't as hot as it was in Albuquerque right so it does sound like it was cramps for for meot nothing too serious or structural yeah both both uh calves cramped up so and and they would not go away and I I was standing there just right outside the The End Zone there and he he got over to the bench sat down went inside and took some more fluids and so forth and came out and he could still hardly walk and so there's there's still a lot of pain and that's something that that will take a minute to to get over that but um it's yeah that it was a double double calf cramp so some relief Daniel yes absolutely and those cramps are are no joke you know we I know we hope for cramps when someone goes down the field because the long-term effects are much better than the alternative but when you're in that moment feeling those cramps especially if it's happening on both legs there's a few things that are that painful to feel on a football field well sometimes it probably feels a little worse up here because you see somebody come limping off is really important it's a lopsided game and they say Okay precautionary we don't need to send you back in but up here it feels like oh gosh I hope somebody's not a long-term injury in this game yeah yeah exactly and and uh you know we're not sure about Conor morette it was a shoulder situation of some sort that um kept him out for a lot of that second half um a couple other guys were were banged around a little bit and and did have some cramps but uh knock onw the Bobcats should be somewhat healthy and as coach vegan was talking about earlier some of those other offensive linemen could get good back here shortly well here we're talking about all these injuries to the offensive lineman they went to their third fourth string in some spots and they still rushed for 335 yards I mean we're talking about almost 700 yards of rushing in the first two games of the season with a completely reworked banged up offensive line that's a pretty good Silver Lining yeah without a doubt and again uh a few more penalties there that they want want to erase and eliminate um and a lot of those weren't you know they were mental errors that type of thing and those can be corrected just don't want those to linger much longer in the season and uh Dan on the bright side here from Montana State the defense the basically the ones really didn't give up a first down at all today yeah it was incredible and it was all three levels I mean this secondary did a great job you know they're they're being asked to do a lot when they line up out there in man coverage most of the time like they do but it all starts up front and Blake Schmidt as he was described as a wrecking ball in the middle of that defensive line he did that again tonight the linebackers Danny Louie lppa and Mako riy they were fantastic once again Bryce grey played a lot of snap sign I know we harped on that a lot during the game but I thought he played a really good game as well and this is what the Bobcat need defense needed to look like today against a first year head coach a guy who's in his first year in the system and you know the first two games uh of the season so far this Bobby daily defense there's some good stuff in there yeah he's got he's got those guys believing and uh putting the the schemes and and game plans together to get the best players in the right spots to uh make make stops when they need to all right going forward uh something that we're kind of looking forward to here over the next couple of games you got two more games before Big Sky play starts the Big Sky is going to be a gauntlet this year as it usually is but it is very very deep cats have a lot of their good games at home they're going to have some tough road trips as well uh Daniel as this cats team continues to clean up and sure itself up what are some of the keys you're looking for going forward well I think starting with the offense I mean we saw the term I used at halftime was they left some meat on the bone in the first half some Drive killing penalties and just some mistakes that they they don't need to be making as this season continues to go on and once they get closer to Big Sky Conference play When the competition level is going to ramp up a little bit you got to find that Rhythm a little bit earlier and I think they'll continue to work towards that you know we talked about the offensive line they've been great but they also have had some costly penalties and they've got guys playing in spots that they're not used to so I think that's a something to keep an eye on as these next few weeks continue to go along and obviously we hope Conor Moore is healthy but the running game is going to be able to carry them through a lot of this and that's a great place to start and at some point Julius Davis will be back Jared white looked as good as we expected him to be I mean Jared white is a really good running back and we got to see some of that today particularly in the second half well deserved for him yeah no no question about it um and the other element that we haven't talked about too much is the special teams that need to need to get shored up but by and large I mean this the return game is good kickoff is good um just got to clean up the pat a field goal situation but the rest by and large the rest of the SP special teams are are doing what they need to do yeah Bren Hall has been great taco dollars knows exactly where he needs to be now miles stanstead missed two field goals today 26 and 33 yards he did hit the 24 y so it was right in the middle of the field it was after he missed two so yeah he had missed a couple but it is nice to see him kind of get back on the horse that's a tough thing to do kicking is a pretty mental game yeah without a doubt that that's it's a I I wouldn't say 90% mental but it's a lot of mental stuff and when things aren't going well you try to correct and you overcorrect and then oh did I do this and do that and the timing and and sometimes you just got to get out there and check touch your eyes and just bang it through yeah you know the other part about this too Daniel is that little kind of shaky here and there you got two wins but ultimately you want to be peeking at the end of the season and you know they're they're iron some things out it's early in the year it's still August for another 13 minutes so you got some time to to iron some of this stuff out but you know again you want to be peeking as the season goes on yeah absolutely and you know I've spent time around a lot of football coaches in my life my older brother's a football coach and they will find things on this film that they need to correct so that's a good thing you know you're happy with your two wins especially winning by a very comfortable margin a 24o victory on the road here you get two Road wins but now you get the week to clean some things up on film you hit the practice field hard and then you got gold gold rush to look forward to you know these guys are going to be Juiced up next week they're going to be in front of the home fans everyone's going to be wearing their gold shirts and Bobcat Stadium will be rocking it's going to be kind of uh kind of crazy coming home after two games like this and walking into that atmosphere it's it's going to be something special yeah those go church is going to be Juiced up all day on Saturday um the other thing I I want to make a quick point is that coach vegan alluded to as well is that now they're going to play Someone they've got film on yes and you had I mean you had two two games where you're just kind of we think this probably could be or whatever now they're going to know the formations and the Personnel a little bit better and and uh so their preparation for Maine will be a lot easier than it has been the last two weeks not only did they play two teams they didn't have film on they played two teams with first year head coaches so you know there's a lot at stake there and you just got to kind of roll the ball out and go to work now they get to do their normal deal well and we'll get a little back a little late tonight but Main's going to get back even later
