On September 1, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck the Canadian state of Quebec. The epicentre was at a depth of 18 km, 40 km from Trois-Rivières. It was one of the strongest earthquakes in the region in the last year. The earthquake was felt in Quebec, Montreal and Ottawa. More than 3,000 people reported on a specialized website that they felt the earthquake. Eyewitnesses are sharing footage of the natural disaster on social networks. Furniture shook in houses, and objects fell from shelves. Some residents left their homes. There were no reports of injuries or serious damage.
